Who would have thought that one of the best burgers I've had in Tucson would come from a place mostly known for their pizza?! A group of eight for a work birthday celebration and EVERYONE really enjoyed their food. Typically when I got to Serial Grillers I have the Sweeny Todd salad and love it but I was more in the mood for something decadent and decided upon Fallen 1/2 pound burger with a side of potato salad. I opted to switch the grilled onions out for raw red onion. Let me tell you this burger was perfection. Hot, juicy, spicy, scrumptious! I typically only like my own homemade potato salad but decided to give theirs a try. Amazing! I wish my little side was bigger, that's how good it is. Everyone at the table was mowing down on their food and totally enjoying it. The table also shared french fries, onion rings and tater tots. The onion rings were cooked perfectly and not so full of grease that you can squeeze it out like so many places do them. The tots were crunchy and brown on the outside and fluffy and hot inside. But those fries....oh those fries. They coat them in something before frying and the texture is outstanding. My horizons have been opened up to other possibilities at Serial Grillers besides just pizza or salad. YUM! read more

Craving a good meal we stopped here. My wife got a cheasesteak and I got a burger with a side of tots. Everything was great. The smash burger was done right. Service was fast. It's a big place but the tables are well spaced so doesn't feel crowded. The fifth star is missing because they didn't have AC and it's hot. I will be back. read more

SERVICE: Kind of confusing when you walk in but you order food up at the front and then they will give you a number and bring you your food which didn't take terrible long to come out. FOOD: I've been looking for great wings in Tucson and this place was recommended to me. My expectations had to be adjusted when I walked in and found that wings were not even a main category on their menu and was just a side dish. Ordered them with the habanero bbq sauce as well as a side of fries. The wings were small and overly smothered in sauce; ended up having to remove some of the sauce because it was too much sauce vs meat. Pretty average wings so my expectations were a bit crushed. However, the redeeming factor was the excellent battered fries; some of the best I've had here in Tucson! If I'm craving fries, I would definitely find my way back to this spot! read more

OMG! This local joint is on fire! I rolled into town with some work colleagues and they tasked me with finding a lunch spot, I dialed up Yelp and saw the reviews and knew this had to be the place. First off, the theme is fun, the atmosphere is functional modern trendy and accessible. Loved the finish on the tables and noted that the bar area was pretty huge (Speedway Location.) The rest of my party arrived and we got down to the serious business of ordering up some lunch time grub. Here's what we had: -Build your own burger -Leatherface burger -Psycho Cheesesteak -Onion Rings -French Fries Most of us got the potato salad as a side and one got the carrots-which is literally a little bag of carrots. Each sandwich was stellar, great flavors, good portion size and the bread was stinking amazing! We liked the fries, the O-rings could have been a bit hotter but no foul was called. There was a steady crowd of locals, business types, skaters, military crew and families eating up what SG was thro'in down. You have a lot of lunch options, but this one should be high on your list. Had a great experience at Serial Grillers. Love the theme and names of the menu. I had 2 slices of the Bone Collector pizza and it was excellent! Super thin crust, delicious chicken drizzled with Buffalo sauce and ranch. Super tasty. The onion rings were excellent as well. Super large portion, beer battered onion rings fried to perfection. First time visiting. The place is clean, staff is friendly, the dining area is good, really bright, really easy parking, and they have self-service soda refills. I got the cheesesteak with an order of onion rings. I liked the cheesesteak, good flavor profile for me, but there was a bit too much bread and not enough veggies to really cover the whole sandwich, which is a shame because their peppers are really good. As long as you can get a bit of everything on a bite then you'll be happy. The onion rings were good, but quite as crispy as I like them, decent quality overall. I chose the potato salad as the accompanying side but I would have rather skipped it (unmemorable, small) and just chosen the onion rings only. Part of the problem I had was with the total price (about $23 and change) and I don't really need a side like potato chips or cole slaw, just an order of onion rings. The other dishes that I saw on other tables looked good. I'll probably return to try the calzone. read more

Having a taste for wings, I decided to have them delivered from Serial Grillers via Door Dash. The delivery/takeout menu offers eight boneless wings and curly fries with ranch dressing for $9. That's a reasonable price. The positive: The food arrived on time and the large styrofoam container was heavy - a good sign! I opened the box and found it brimming with fries and plump meaty wings. More good signs. I moved some wings to a plate, licked my sticky fingers, and loved the sweet spicy sauce. It could have been a bit hotter but the flavor and balance were good. The not-so positive: Although the wings were still hot, the fries were cold and tasteless. They desperately needed seasoning but chilly fries will never be good and I wasn't somewhere I could toss them into the oven for a heat up. Fries do cool quickly. Perhaps the solution would be to offer cole slaw or a side salad for delivery customers. The biggest problem, however, was that the wings were underdone. Several were quite pink at the bone and had the chewy consistency expected from chicken done under. The skin was flaccid rather than crispy. The large drumettes were the biggest offenders but a couple of the flats were pink as well. Very disappointing. read more

Hannibal Cheese Steak please... hold the fava beans and chianti. Do I find the names of the items at Serial Grillers unsettling? Yes. Is it weird that we do "family" meals at a restaurant built around Cinemas most famous killers. Probably. Does any of that matter when the food is this good? Absolutely not. If you have a great selection of beer I'm in. But add in a "killer' cheesesteak, tots, and other fare and I'm a regular. I love spots that let you order at the counter and deliver food to your table. Serial grillers is quick enough for a fast meal, but "cool" enough to meet friends for drinks. I think this place has been around for a while. My fiancee has always wanted to try it. But we never got the chance. They also moved recently to a newer facility. We brought two of his friend here for lunch as a thank you for helping us move into our new apartment. This place has the feel of a hipster diner and yet is a little old school, with the metal trays and the tater tots. I think I got the tuna sandwich (called Kiss the Girls). My fiancee got the Pennywise I think. Our two friends either got the Hannibal or the Psycho. They both the look the same, so I can't tell. We also got garlic bread and tater tots to share. It was so much food. But I enjoyed it. And I recommend it if you haven't tried. They also have beer but we didn't get any beer that day. read more

The little cups of potato salad and Cole Slaw are almost an embarrassment for the company. French fries are good as is the pizza. We arrived just in time, the place filled up fast. Well, there is no 4.5. I say 5 and my wife says 4. It was our 1st time here and it didn't disappoint. We started off with the Breadstick Bites and they don't skimp on the amount. The bread was fresh and so tasty. We also got the Mozzarella sticks, now knowing we only really needed 1 appetizer, and was fantastic as well. We decided to split the Red Dragon Calzone. It was marinara, provolone, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, sausage and bacon. We weren't sure if they would be enough to split and yes there was plenty. We're actually taking some home as well. Jaime said a 4 because of the time it took, 20 minutes, to get our order out. I say it was totally worth it. It looks small from the outside, but it's not. Stop by, you will be pleased. Months ago we tried to go to their location on houghton but it was insanely crowded with people competing for the self seating tables. That gives me anxiety, so we left, sad, as the menu looked amazing. So I was very excited when the large speedway location opened. We went for lunch on a weekend, right around 12:30 and seating was plentiful, including a nice outdoor area. You order at counter and they bring to you. It takes a bit to get your food, but that's cause they don't start till you order, including for the pizza slices. And I say slices, because even though it says pizza slice, you get two huge slices. They said it was on par with a Costco slice, but I say it was bigger. The husbands phillie was so good he said it was one of his top. I haven't been here in years, I now have a gluten sensitivity... Of course, the first place my family wants to eat is Serial Grillers.......... I was said to see my fav items were taken off the menu, but they did have a HUGE menu so I understand. I have eaten a million gluten free pizza crusts... I'd say most are average, tolerable, but I have had some really good ones too... but this one was awful... by far the worst, crust ever... literally like a tortilla. I'm completely shocked and disappointed. It's awesome they at least offer a gf option... thanks... but I would never order it again. But my kids, LOVE it, even after all these years, and we don't mess around with pizza places, they know quality! We never bother with chains... Easy to find a seat and they are a lot available. Bar is available with a full bar. Plenty of types of beers and spirits. Order a frailty salad, American psycho sandwich, and wings and tots. It was all delicious. Fresh made to order and fast service. Staff was great and very friendly. Food was well seasoned and fresh. My family raves about the spot and was finally able to check it out myself. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu which is always a plus. I had really wanted a calzone, but wasn't sure I could modify it to not have meat or cheese.... yes I know who does that? Anywho... I asked the cashier if they were pr-made and she stated no so I was super happy to do the monster calzone without meat or cheese. It basically was a calzone with black olives, mushrooms, onions and bell peppers. It was delicious it came with some marinara on the side as well. They are decent portions and I was able to get 2 meals from it. Of course the rest of my family all loved what they ordered as well. I brought home my leftovers and a couple hours later, my mom asked me out of the blue where I got the pizza bc it was good. She ate all my leftovers lol. I've been super excited to try this place bc I think the menu was pretty creative so I went for lunch one day. It was moderately crowded with a few groups, but not too overwhelming. I expected more of a darker, goth theme inside, but it was pretty basic inside. You just order at a counter and take a seat while you wait for your pizza. I got breadsticks and pizza--breadsticks were ok, but not super memorable. However the pizza was anything but forgettable. I got the "Ghostface" and it was divine. Nice comfort pizza. We recently ordered lunch from here. I ordered the Kiss the Girls tuna sandwich and it was amazing! So full of flavor with sliced almonds and cranberries. A friend ordered the Hannibal cheesesteak and loved it while another friend ordered the Psycho cheesesteak and loved that too. We ate here when we arrived in Tucson. It had really good reviews so we had to try it out. This is a very interesting pizza joint. They have a horror movie theme going on...if you couldn't figure this out from the name of the pizzeria. The tables were "meat chopping tables" lol The walls had pictures of different characters from horror movies. They have a bar area (next door) where you can grab a few drinks and take it to your table. It's a fairly clean restaurant. They have a friendly staff. The one thing I didn't really like was where the bathrooms were located. There are tables way too close to where the bathrooms are. It's just kinda weird. Too close for me. I wouldn't want to hear someone using the bathroom or smelling it as soon as someone is done while eating my food. Their pizza is pretty good. I'm more of a thin crust lover but their crust was pretty good....not too thick. We also ordered onion rings which were really good. They also have other selections besides pizza. It smells soooo good in here! We took a day trip to Tucson. My son had never had calzone except for what he got at his school cafeteria. Thanks to Yelpers, we found our way to Serial Killers. On a Memorial Day, it was doing amazing. The girl taking our order behind the counter warned us about the wait. We didn't mind. The names of dishes are so cute: serial killers from the big screen. We ordered the Candyman, a spicy jalapeño Caesar salad. My son had the Red Dragon, a gorgeous calzone stuffed with sausage, bacon, pepperoni and gooey cheese. The Monster medium pizza was beautiful.
