Omero (pronounced "O-mero", not Humberto, reviewers) and Jamie (pronounced with an H, as in "Hi-meh" not "Jay-me") run the best ServPro in the San Gabriel area. My home had to be cleaned of smoke and contaminants from the toxic ashes of the Eaton Fire. Contractors were overloaded with requests. Jamie responded to my request for an inspection quickly, as well as provided a thorough estimate of work, again quickly, at a fair rate compared to many who were raising prices unjustly because of the fire. Once agreed upon, they were equally fast to do the mitigation work. They had specialists remove two old asbestos pipes before other work began. Then they removed the insulation and thoroughly cleaned the attic. They are Lead certified specialists as well. Following that, they packed-out the entire home and garage and cleaned for toxins with a proprietary solvent spray and wipes. They used HEPA vacs, wiped down all walls and moved behind appliances and cleaned those as well. Finally they pressure washed the house. Omero then provided me with a Certificate of Completion. These guys were terrific. We were showered in ash, soot and smoke for close to three weeks from the Bobcat fire that burned to a mile of our home. I can't imagine giving this company less than 5 stars. If I had 10 stars to give, I'd gladly do it. We had a pipe burst and the entire first floor of our house was damaged including wood floor, carpet, and walls. It couldn't have come at a worse time in our lives and I didn't know where to turn. I called several companies who gave me the runaround, until I got ahold of Homero (definitely Divine intervention) who came out late in the evening on a Friday night. He assessed the situation, immediately for the water flow stopped, and reassured me everything would be ok. From that point Homero and his team did the rest, including handling insurance claims for two different companies (HOA and personal). Homero even personally helped me shop for new flooring! What could have been a disaster turned out to be nothing more than an inconvenience, thanks to the amazing care of Homero and his team. water remediation. Their ability to stay on schedule was marginal. The demo crew was clean . Their dry wall crew seemed professional and capable. Their paint crew did adequate work. Their overall organization was peculiar. They brought in several large fans which they did not use ever, apparently due to not wanting to spread mold and asbestos but the mold was to have already been removed. The fan they left running at our expense in terms of electricity bill, was left running for weeks. Near the end they broke our king size wood bed frame because one person tried to move it. Most annoying was the fact that all three crews blamed each other. The price to replace it seemed too high to saddle the business owner with, so we offered a much lower amount to be reimbursed. The owner seemed satisfied. Unfortunately we never saw the owner/ general contractor come even once to oversee the work of any crew. We sat there daily, all day while crews worked. I'm uncertain about whether I would choose to work again with this company. read more

The Saddle tree fire in Sylmar was an unfortunate moment. We were lucky. Inspite of some heavy smoke & ash damage, we were able to still have our home. Some friends recommend Homero from Servpro. Homero showed up the same day he was called and had information and tips that were very beneficial in dealing with our insurance company. Mike and Ben were part of the crew doing most of the work in our home. Mike and Ben kept me informed of what work would be done from one day to the next. These guys are unorganized, unprofessional, they lie and do not care if they waster your time. We scheduled carpet cleaning at my house, my wife took the day off and 10 minutes before the scheduled time they called and said they could not show up that day. OK things happen, Several days later the time was rescheduled and they came back on schedule and did a okay job. Our office is much larger and needs the carpets cleaned. We scheduled a Saturday job, they had to have a $150 cash extra for the overtime and would not give a price for the work. My staff accepted and scheduled the job. We had an employee here paid overtime and wasting time waiting for them. They apparently did show up (or maybe just called) but did not ring the buzzer or knock on doors. They did call several times but to the presidents line (me) which went to voice mail because I was not here. When we called to find out where they were they said they were here but we were not. (we were here waiting) OK things happen and we should have given a cell phone and I guess we could have told them to use the buzzer or knock on doors. So we rescheduled for a after hours Wednesday evening service making sure they had every piece of information they could possibly need even beyond common sense. I personally stayed after hours to meet them. Again they did not show up. When I called Hermaro he said oh my g... let me see where they are. When he called back he said they were on an emergency call and could not make it. Then Hermaro lied and said that they showed up Tuesday night and no one was here. Well I was here with about 10 of my staff and I have large ceiling to floor windows looking out over the parking lot, I would have seen them. Why he would show up on the wrong day is baffling, why he would lie about showing up on the wrong day is baffling, how he stays in business is baffling. read more

I'm so impressed with the quick emergency service I received after black water backed up in our home 3 months ago. They arrived immediately and went into action, overnight the water was removed and the area was dried with a ton of fans. They removed all the furniture and stored it and wrapped all our knick knocks and valuables to perfection. Today 3 months later they brought everything back in perfect condition. This is by far the WORST experience I have EVER HAD with a company. We had a large water spill on our carpet and had several companies, including Servpro Monrovia, come out to give an estimate to dry and steam clean the area. The estimates were all pretty comparable, so we went with Servpro Monrovia because they were local and had good reviews on Yelp. They had originally estimated the the job to dry AND steam clean the carpet would be about $600-700 and would take about 2-3 days. The drying was completed and the machines removed after 3 days, but the first attempt to steam clean was a week later. On the first date scheduled for the steam cleaning, they were supposed to arrive between 8am and noon. By 1 or 1:30pm, they had still not shown up or contacted us. The person that had arranged to be home for them to come had to leave, so we finally called them to see what was going on. They said that their car had been towed because of a mix-up with the registration and they did not know if they were going to make it. However, they had not bothered to let us know that they would be late or possibly unable to make it. So, we reschedule for the following week. When they showed up on that day, it turned out that they did not have a part to complete the job, so again, we wasted almost an hour while they tried to figure out their equipment, but they could not get it working or find the part they needed so they left to try to locate the part at their warehouse. We waited around for a large part of the day until they called and said that they couldn't find the part and complete the job today. We did not hear from them for over a month. In the meantime, our furniture was piled on top of each other and we did not have full use of our largest common room for the holidays and the entire month of January. Then a month later, we received a text from them asking about finishing the job. We asked for a detailed price breakdown first because we were already frustrated with them and wanted to see whether we should let them finish the steam cleaning under the original job or if we should find someone else to do it. When we got the bill it was already for OVER $770 and did not even include the steam cleaning, which they said would be AT LEAST another $150 - clearly well over the $600-700 price range we were quoted to begin with. The bill also reflected work that was not completed, such as moving our furniture (we moved our own), and charged for 1.5 hours of work (apparently an industry standard) even though they were only there about 30-45 minutes. We emailed Homero, the owner, to try to resolve the discrepancy, and the only adjustment he would make was to take off the charge for moving the furniture (about $40), but he refused to work with us on any of the other issues despite all the inconvenience and the fact that the price was higher than expected for less work than was represented. He was rude, unprofessional, and insulting. In response to one of my emails explaining that we did not think the price on the bill was fair because it was higher than his estimate and did not even include all of the services discussed, he told me, "I do not want to discuss this any further, nowhere in our price breakdown does it show a cost for carpet cleaning. I would respect more if simply you and asked for a discount other than to conjure up reasons for lessening the amount due." I have never worked with a company that was so disorganized, inconsiderate of my time, or disrespectful and unprofessional. read more
