Food was good, sadly the service was uninviting which makes us not want to return. We came in at 5:30pm on a Thursday night, online reservation system had many reservations available so I didn't feel the need to make one. The host told me there were no tables available and that the reservation system online is wrong. We sat at the bar with our 2 year old, I notice they were seating people with reservations however, there was an empty table from the time we got there until the time we left. The service was very rushed and we felt extremely uncomfortable the whole time. We spent over $100 to be in the restaurant for less than 45 minutes (also not sure how our food came out so quickly). I'm giving this place 3 stars. Here's why: This is my second trip here. First time I had lasagna and it was good but very heavy and rich. I only ate a couple bites. I was served at the bar and the bartender was great. My second time here we ordered caprese salad & grilled artichokes--very good. However the pappardelle with short ribs was heavy and lacking a bit of punch (like citrus/tomatoes). What concerned me most was that at lunch time on a Friday afternoon, you had one person (young lady), who was the hostess/answering the phones, who was also the bartender & server and being the busboy, all while the chef and sous chef only had 5-6 tables they were preparing food. Our server was great but you could tell it was a lot for one person. Get it together. I want to see this local restaurant work! I support locally. read more

Always looking for good Italian restaurants, I had seen a few reviews of Sette Pasta house in Granite Bay. Yesterday we decided to give it a try and made a reservation. Sette is located in the corner of a busy shopping center and not easily visible. We spotted the signage shortly and arrived promptly at our reservation time and were pleasantly greeted by the hostess. The interior was brightly lit and had a contemporary modern look. We were seated and soon greeted by a very busy waiter. He explained that they make their pasta fresh and answered our questions about the menu choices. Susan chose the butternut squash & 5 cheese Ravioli; I chose the signature dish lasagna. We shared a Caesar salad to start out dinner. The salad split salad was more than enough for both of us, the salad was fresh and pleasantly presented. Nothing particularly stood out about the salad. Our entrees arrived and my Lasagna was a large portion smothered in sauce. The butternut squash Ravioli were colorful and also simply presented. For both of us the first bite quickly showed why the positive reviews were warranted. Both the Lasagna noodles and the Ravioli were unmistakenly fresh. I hadn't tasted a pasta that fresh since my Italian grandmother in law passed away. Both portions were large enough that we both brought 1/2 of our dinner home. We wanted to their dessert choices and settled on the house made tiramisu. A great choice, it was light and flavorful. Our dinners were accompanied by an Italian chianti and a Russian river chardonnay, both were excellent pairings to our entree choices. We expect to add Sette to our list of favorites and are already planning to bring some out-of-town guests. read more

Above average pastas at outrageous prices. Stingy food offerings like no bread with dinner. Two small plates of pasta and a bubble water cost me $70. Service was unprofessional, ill-timed and annoying. Why visit again? Side note bonus: Both times I dined at Sette i chose to dine outdoors because a there was foul smell indoors. In addition, when dining outside you have to contend with extremely loud (drunk) people via the too-close restaurant next door. I had two different servers each time I dined at Sette and both time were disappointing. Lots of places to get pasta where they appreciate your biz with free bread. I think Sette has the whole thing backwards. I don't expect they'll be around too long with their offering. Oh, last thing, I forgot add. When I returned home after dining at Sette, my inbox had four spam messages from Sette attempting to sell me some high-end dinner. The food was spectacular. The attention to detail from their homemade pasta to flavor profiles are in full display. Sette is absolutely the go-to place for gourmet pasta and pizza in the Granite Bay / Roseville area! Everything here is top quality and delish, the presentation, the ingredients, the flavor and texture, and the service and ambience of course. It's a relaxing, casual and family friendly place to dine in. We've been here multiple times. Loved their starters, pasta, pizza and entrees. We usually get too full to have room for their desserts. It's hard to knock fresh handmade pasta. The texture is obvious. Even in cases where fresh noodles are partially made by machine such as Marugame (see my review) the texture is in a whole different field. read more

Quality was good but food profiles were ok. The highlight was the Meatball Skillet appetizer. The lasagna we had was overdone on the bottom, the Alfredo lacked a layer more of richness (not that it should be smothered at all) and the spaghetti needed just a tad more sauce as there was more bare pasta than sauce - maybe because the focus was possibly more about highlighting the fresh pasta? Service was excellent. One can see the theme which is "7" (Sette in Italian) reflected in the menu. Nice ambiance but not sure if it's one we'd go to regularly. read more

I've had Settee bookmarked since it opened. Finally tried it tonight and we weren't disappointed. We arrived for dinner without reservations and the place was hopping! They were kind enough to set up a table for us outside on the patio which I preferred since it was a beautiful night. We started with a Caesar salad which was perfectly dressed. The owner, Paul, came out to introduce himself and also had anchovies brought out to put on my salad. Our server, Casey, was a joy. She was helpful throughout our meal. There's nothing like fresh pasta! My Pomodoro was simple and quite tasty...but Lee's Lasagna was the winner! I stole several bites and would describe it as eye-rolling good! Both Paul and Casey came outside to check on us periodically. Neither was intrusive, just warm friendly service. We will be back soon. Can't wait to try their pizza! read more

Our family had lunch at Sette Pasta House on March 26th and the food I service was so exceptionally good that I wished I could transport the restaurant to AZ so I could enjoy it all the time! Sadly, we were only in town for a few days for a funeral so I will just have to remember it as one of those meals that was so good it was makes your mouth water just thinking about it. Our server, Giuseppe (AKA Dale) was attentive and knowledgeable. We started out with the focaccia bread board and the calamari. The bread was hot out of the oven and the 3 spreads were the perfect accompaniment. The calamari was lightly breaded, fried just perfectly and the 2 dipping sauces paired well. The restaurant boasts that their pasta is made in house daily and it truly was delicious. For entrees, we had the Lasagna, pappardelle, lobster ravioli, chicken parmesan and pepperoni and hot honey and Paul's combo pizzas. All were great. I have to say that I am usually not a fan of chicken Parmesan, but this dish was stellar! The chicken breast was pounded nice and thin and fried to perfection and then instead of being drenched with the sauce on top of it, it is served on a bed of fettuccini with pomodoro and Alfredo sauces underneath so the chicken stayed nice and crispy. There was not one thing we ordered that wouldn't be a do over for me. I enjoyed them all. If I were to pick my very top favorite it would be the chicken Parmesan, but honestly all the food was divine! We wanted to try their house made pasta since the reviews were pretty good on Yelp. However we were disappointed, the quality wasn't that great and nothing to rave about. The focaccia bread looked like cornbread. My daughter ordered the spaghetti with meatballs, she hardly ate the pasta. I had the steak, my wife was looking forward to ordering the gnocchi but apparently it's a seasonal item. So she ordered the shrimp fettuccine instead. Ambiance is good. Our server was okay. We went here tonight. Our neighbors recommended it so we were excited. We ordered the Italian salad and lasagna. The Italian salad tasted like salad from a bag, I would not order it again. The lasagna, well I can say the meat was high quality and you could tell the pasta was made from scratch and was tender, however the lasagna was served COLD, yes, not warm, not hot, but cold. I will not come here again because of that (if this had been served warm I would give it a second chance but if the salad was terrible again I would not come back). Husband and I went on a double date with some friends and being that I'm a sucker for fresh made pasta, we decided to try out the newest restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is very inviting and the ambiance was nice. The outdoor garden area was busy since it was such a nice night and I definitely can imagine having a glass of wine out there with your girlfriends and sharing some appetizers. The food was all around good (solid appetizers) although I definitely felt like the ravioli was the better of the pasta between my carbonara and my husband's ravioli. They were out of tiramisu and given that it's the only dessert on the menu aside from gelato, it was a bit disheartening but given that the restaurant just opened I think it's still finding its groove and figuring out portions. What a wonderful dining experience. The layout is streamlined, clean and modern with classic/retro accents. We went to the soft opening so I know that they are working through some kinks but overall it went smoothly. I noticed how involved the manager and head chef were with the staff and guests. They checked on guests and even ran food to the tables. Staff was incredibly friendly and professional. We started off with the focaccia bread board as an appetizer. It was baked fresh and served with a side of minced garlic, pesto, and cream. It was SO good. I'd go back for the bread alone! I love the crunchy bottom and ends while the middle was fluffy. Again, SO GOOD. I ordered bucatini carbonara and my son ordered the spaghetti pomodoro. You have the option to add salmon, grilled chicken, or meatballs for an additional fee. I added the grilled chicken to mine. The spaghetti was topped with a dollop of ricotta (you can request more if you like but the dollop was sufficient) and served with freshly made noodles. It was delicious. Zesty but not too overwhelming with a delicious tomato sauce. The carbonara sauce was creamy with hints of black pepper and perfectly balanced so one flavor did not overpower another. Chef's kiss! The chicken was fresh and seemed to be fire grilled. An excellent addition to the dish. All the pasta is made fresh for each dish. I'm not sure I can eat any other kind of pasta ever again! They also were very detailed oriented which really made a family meal turn into an upscale experience. Everything from new silverware for each dish, the "crumbing" of the table, to the pouring of the wine. My son couldn't finish his spaghetti so they boxed it for us and held it for us at the front so it was ready when we left. Such simple, small things really make a big difference. I can't wait to come back to try the other dishes. Again, the pasta is made fresh and you can taste the difference.
