We had the pleasure of dining at Sette on Sunday evening as we were in town to visit family. We were blown away by the ambiance, hospitality, and every dish we tried. The mushroom cappuccino captured the essence of the mushrooms (cremini, portobello, shiitake) in liquid form. A spoonful from the artfully plated (cupped!) soup was decadent without being too rich or heavy, and the perfect start for a meal of perfectly cooked meats and handmade pastas. I saw a reviewer mention they didn't serve gluten free pasta - actually they do! It's offered as an option with every sauce they also make from scratch in house. We loved the perfectly cooked filet mignon over a bed of mushroom risotto and tender, grilled fresh asparagus. Another favorite was the lasagna bolognese. This bolognese was a show stopper - tasted like a delicious blend of Italian sausage for a deliciously unctuous melt in your mouth savory treat, paired with a light ricotta and that handmade pasta ! What a treat! We also demolished two focaccia boards with their delicious dips - basil and oil? A truffle-y whipped salted butter? And an incredible garlicky parmigiana spread And the Caesar salad - dressed to the nines, and their classic Sette salad - with a basil-y garlicky dressing which complemented their fresh greens and sliced sweet peppers. Finished off with two of their gelatos - wow. I meant only to have a taste but found myself polishing off my bowl, even after all that other delicious pasta, steak, and bread. Found this restaurant via Yelp and decided to give it a try with hubby. Came here on a Sunday evening. We did not have reservations. We walked in, and got greeted immediately and seated promptly. Ambiance was pleasant. Restaurant was very clean and welcoming. We ordered the focaccia bread, lamb "lollipops," Sette salad, and the lasagna. My husband and I shared the salad, and the server offered to split it without additional charge, which we appreciated. All the items we ordered had beautiful presentations. Salad was simple, but the dressing was flavorful. The lamp was okay to me; however, my husband enjoyed it. I would recommend the lasagna. Portion sizes were decent for the price. We've been here three times now. My partner, who enjoys a good lasagna, tried Sette's lasagna on our first visit and loves it so much that they have ordered it on each visit since, lol. I had the fettuccine alfredo with pancetta, and the flavor and chew was magnificent. We split and liked the Caesar salad. Great first visit - five stars! Second visit, ended up ordering the same dishes as our first visit. Lasagna still very good, but my fettuccine was overcooked. I stopped eating it since it was disappointing as you come here for the al dente fresh housemade pasta. When the server finally came by, I told them the noodles were overcooked. They apologized and offered a dessert, which was nice I guess, but I declined the dessert since I'm not fond of sweets. I would have rather my dish been remade properly. So second visit maybe three stars? Decided to chance it again when we had a visitor who would appreciate an elevated Italian meal. In addition to the salad, we shared the fried calamari, which was perfection! The calamari was tender and the very light breading was tasty enough by itself that I didn't need the side sauces. It was such a huge portion that none of us could finish our mains. I had told the server about the previous overcooked noodles, so our guest's shrimp scampi fettuccine came out al dente and was coated with a light, delicious sauce. I had decided to try the lobster ravioli. Was so sad when the outer parts of the raviolis were dry and tough. I made do by cutting off the edges and eating the stuffed middles. If you're looking for a date night restaurant, catching up w/ friends, or just a family meal out - this place is worth a drive and/or detour. This is the type of restaurant where the head Chef stops by your table to see how things are going, make sure your experience is top-notch, and ensure that his dishes are prepared the way he intended. It's such a nuanced vibe when the Executive Chef walks the floor of his own restaurant - he truly cares about every last detail of his restaurant, from the presentation, ambiance, service, and of course - the food! Tucked away in the corner of the shopping center with plenty of parking in the adjacent lot - it's almost easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Interior of the restaurant is tastefully decorated with small accents that reflect their "everything is made in house" mission statement. Dinner is slightly on the expensive side, but it's a great example of paying for and receiving high quality ingredients/preparation. Everything is delicious. They make their own pasta in-house. Their tiramisu is made in-house. Everything tastes so fresh it's almost a bit of a shock since flavors and combinations are subtly different when there aren't very many (if any) preservatives used. The mushroom cappuccino is creative and so light/delicious. The flavors of the truffle foam and the fun presentation as if it were a cup of coffee were awesome. Meatballs are fluffy and light with such a flavorful sauce. We were recommended to try the lasagna which was fantastic - so hearty and with delicate ratios of savory sauce, cheeses, and pasta layers. While obviously a more dense dish, it didn't leave you feeling heavy at all. Alfredo was delicious as well - very light and not overly-sauced. Tiramisu is fantastic and light/fluffy with some of the coffee flavor just accenting each bite. It takes effort to make pasta based dishes involving cheese and meat at this level of freshness while also not being overbearing - this Chef and his team have hit that mark and beyond. My husband and I came for a mid week date night, food and service were on point. For appetizers, we shared the new Sicilian style deep dish pizza - Pepperoni Jalapeno Hot Honey, Mushroom Cappacino (aka soup), Caesar salad (no split fee) and Meatball Skillet. For entrées we had Halibut Piccata and Lasagna. Dessert was vanilla Gelato. We both had glasses of the Chianti which paired very well with all the apps and entrées. Halibut - went with the recommended cook temp of medium and it was one of the best pieces of Halibut I've ever had. Piccata - light sauce with capers and sliced asparagus. Pasta was cooked perfectly and sauce was thin but not watery. There was a strong rosemary flavor that caught me by surprise but was very enjoyable. We discovered this wonderful Italian spot in a shopping center next to a grocery store. I am thrilled! Non-pretentious excellent house-made pasta, focaccia and sauces. We started out with some terrific calamari and a "bread board" of focaccia that was accompanied by 3 different dipping/spreads. Hubby had lasagna that he proclaimed a 10 out of 10! I had cheese raviolis with a pesto sauce and house made sun-dried tomatoes. Dessert was a huge scoop of Argentinian Salted Caramel gelato. Epic! Sette has a nice selection of wines from which to choose. We will definitely be back even though it's not close to home. Service was excellent, non-intrusive but helpful and informative when we had questions. I highly recommend this spot! read more

Wow! This place is REALLY good. I'm a New York born Italian raised woman and this is really good. The pasta is made from scratch and they cook it perfectly to where it isn't mushy at all (unless you like it that way, they'll cook it longer if you ask them too). I had the Italian salad, bread board (amazing!), chicken parm and my husband had the sausage and peppers pasta. Every dish was good! Great place to spend our anniversary, but perfect for any ordinary day also. Our waitress (her name was Sam) was super attentive and so sweet and helpful with all the dishes we asked about. We loved that it wasn't stuffy fancy. It's definitely fine dining, without the snooty attitude. lol Bottom line - eat here! We are definitely coming back! read more

Had dinner here for the 2nd time and thought I should write a review. The service both times was fabulous. The hostess greeted us with a smile and we were sat quickly. Our waitress, Grace (?), was polite, personable and completely on point. I would go as far to say she could open a university for servers . We ordered the focaccia board that came with three mini loafs and three dipping sauces. They were all great but my favorite was the pesto. Our entrees were the halibut special that came with a lemon sauce. And the Ragu short rib pasta. They were both outstanding. The chef came out to check on us. Also a lovely man. With homemade pastas and fresh ingredients, this place checks all the boxes. If you're looking for a great meal, give this place some love. Good job to the entire team. Food poisoning, service, appetizers, lots of dishes and dessert all broken down in the following review! Update- The owner didn't even know what day I went to the restaurant and claimed he called guests from the same night, as well as his neighbor, and the ravioli was well. Seeing as I didn't even specify the night I went to the restaurant in my review, it was a clear and blatant lie from the start. I spent a lot of time, effort, and thought in my review, for it all to be disregarded for an egotistical response. Looking at past reviews this isn't the first time he's done this. This is a shame as I would've loved to revisit Sette with my full group, and I left PLENTY of positive comments as well, but none of them seemed to matter to him except for trying to take away from my food poisoning experience. I always leave detailed thoughtful reviews regardless of experience but if you do not accept any critique you cannot expect to grow as a restaurant. Seasonal Ravioli This was my dish, and one of the main driving points behind writing this review. I have always loved ravioli, it's delicious and something almost impossible to mess up. We chose this restaurant for fresh pasta as it's one of those dishes you can taste a massive difference being fresh. We all looked forward to soft, yummy pasta. As a simple critique I wish it had vegetables, being one of the vegetarian items and with such a heavy cream sauce. On a more important note, my ravioli immediately failed the number one reason we chose the restaurant. It was extremely hard. I fought through the first one, but after the second I could no longer eat the edges (80%) of my dish, and had to only eat the centers. This is coming from someone who ALWAYS cleans her plate, so it was a very big surprise. My partner and sister tasted them and immediately said they were inedible and understood. I would've asked the server about it, but my sister's pasta was also quite hard and not as expected, so I figured this is how the restaurant is. Fast forward to our eventual drive home that night. I feel nauseous. Alternate between feeling very cold and very hot. End up throwing up- this doesn't happen to me no matter what. More terrible things happen with my stomach, cramping, etc. I throw up again driving home, unable to even make it inside. I can't put into words how unlike me this is, and how god awful the food poisoning was from the ravioli. Again, none of these events were like me in the slightest, the only thing coming out was ravioli, and it was the clear culprit. After looking at yelp photos of other people's ravioli, mine looks much darker and harder. They should have known 1000% they were serving bad pasta. Focaccia The owner photos of the house made focaccia need to be removed for being so wildly inaccurate and misleading. The focaccia was good, but MUCH smaller than shown. 2 mini loaves about 4 inches long, on a massive board. The variety of spreads was delicious, but not nearly enough bread. The "garlic" spread was the best of the three although it mostly tasted of Parmesan cheese, I didn't get much garlic flavor. Sette Salad This was one of the best salads I've ever eaten, and another member of our table agreed. I really enjoyed that the bell peppers and zucchini's were cut small so they were easy to eat, and the dressing was fantastic. I would be a happy camper if this replaced every "garden salad" that exists. Other Dishes My partner got the lasagna, which states on the menu it took them 18 years to perfect. He enjoyed it and had a great meal. My sister got the pesto pasta which was good, although also very hard and slightly bland. The tomatoes on the vine were a very cute addition for aesthetics, but sadly the pasta was the exact opposite of why we had selected this restaurant. Another member of our party got the pork chop with pasta- they noted the best choice they made for the dish was leaving the bone in to get flavor. Atmosphere Very attentive, could be seen as nice but also a little pushy at times. Our waiter told us at one point she was told we were ready to order dessert when we had never mentioned that to anyone. Although it's appreciated to be checked on, being inturrupted every 3 minutes does not make for good dinner conversation, and it makes you feel watched and rushed. We felt so bombarded we never even got to order wine. Dessert For an authentic Italian place we were all really counting on an espresso machine for affogatos. They only had french presses for coffee, so two of us got gelato and a french press, and one got strawberry gelato on its own. The last member of our group tried the tiramisu, which was both beautiful and delicious, although none of us tasted the mascarpone. This may make layers easier, but takes away from the dish being an actual tiramisu. read more

We didn't know anything about Sette, we live in Roseville and don't have an occasion to visit this shopping center in Granite Bay. Friends had heard about Sette and suggested we meet for lunch. Sette Pasta is a wonderful food and service experience. Unity greeted us at the door with a level of poise that immediately told us to expect more than the average nice restaurant. We were there for lunch and while they have a smaller portion lunch menu we elected to order the lasagna and Caesar salad from the dinner menu and split it. Both were excellent and a clear calling for us to return. Our friends always evaluate Italian restaurants by their meat balls, we did order some as appetizers and the meat balls were some the best we've had in this country. Had dinner last night. Excellent service. We had the calamari appetizer - big portion and perfectly breaded and fried. For entrees, scallops with risotto was outstanding, along with Shrimp scampi over linguine. Noodles were perfectly cooked, delicious! Great portions! Ended with cannolli filled with pumpkin cheesecake, again, very well done. Decor was pleasing - only issue was it was a little chilly. Can't wait to go again. read more

Great first experience here! Luckily we got in on a Sunday just before 5 pm and beat the dinner rush and were in time for the happy hour! The restaurant is large and they have some outdoor seating as well. It's a nice restaurant in an assuming location. Also lucky for us, it was kid friendly (high chairs, coloring sheet and crayons, and kids' pasta option). I am so glad I was able to get the seasonal butternut squash cheese ravioli dish on the last day it was on the menu! It was amazing! I'm sad it isn't a regular menu item. All the pasta is made in house! We also had got the shrimp scampi and it was also delicious. It was all so well balanced and filling without being heavy. Highly recommended. read more

Service was excellent. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, but as for as this date night is concerned is was a failure. My fiancé is heavy handed with salt when he cooks, but this chef was extremely heavy with salt. When my fiancé can't eat his meal I knew it wasn't just me. We didn't complain as we aren't those people who want something free. We paid our bill and went on with our evening disappointed. 2 stars is the top I can give. read more

The staff were all attentive. We like it that the servers explains what's in the menu. The service is fast. Every employees were busy doi g their work to make sure the customers are satisfied. Even the head chef is helping serve the food. The lamb chop and focaccia bread appetizer is a MUST. I''m giving 5 stars for the fettuccine shrimp scampi, which I had. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the flavor is light and fresh. My husband is also giving 5 stars for his butternut squash ravioli with a hint of orange (maybe ). My date and I came to Sette for the first time, and everything was truly five stars! The food was absolutely delicious and incredibly filling. You can tell the pasta is homemade--it really elevated the whole experience. The appetizers, especially the calamari and bread board, are a must-try! Just be sure to save room, because the portions are generous. The service was top-notch. Both the servers and chefs checked in with us throughout the meal, and they even took time to introduce the dishes and explain the ingredients, which made it feel extra special. I searched for Italian restaurants in my area on Google and saw that they make their own pasta in house so I thought I'd give it a shot. Sette is located in beautiful Granite Bay in a newly developed shopping center. Once my mom and I arrived, we noticed the cleanly and welcoming atmosphere that was perfect for a casual lunch experience. While I was looking to order the Short Rib Pappardelle that I saw from the online menu, I didn't notice that it was only available for dinner. Regardless, they still allowed me to order the dish and I appreciated their flexibility. My mother ordered the lasagna that came out piping hot, and without even asking how she liked it, she exclaimed it was the best lasagna she ever had. The Short Rib Pappardelle also came out hot with bits of short rib that really complimented the rich sauce and sour cream. I also had the two Italian sodas (Blackberry and Watermelon) that you mix at the table and were very tasty and refreshing as well. Our waitress was also very friendly with a great smile! The only minor complaint I had was the service was a little slow, but we didn't mind because we weren't in a hurry and Sette still deserves five stars. I'll definitely be back! read more

An Italian gem that truly delivers from start to finish! We finally made it to Sette Pasta House in Granite Bay, and wow--what a fantastic experience from the very first bite! We started with the focaccia, which honestly deserves its own standing ovation. Warm, fluffy, a touch of salt, and perfectly infused with olive oil--it's the kind of bread you keep reaching for even when you know you should save room for the next course. Next up was the calamari, and it was textbook perfection: light, crispy, not greasy at all, and paired with a sauce that actually enhances the flavor instead of drowning it. You can tell they take pride in doing the classics right. But the short rib pasta... now that is a showstopper. The short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender, slow-braised until they practically became part of the sauce. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and every bite felt rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying--like a hug from an Italian nonna who knows exactly what you need. We wrapped things up with the tiramisu and cannoli, because how could we not? The tiramisu was light and creamy with that perfect balance of espresso and mascarpone, and the cannoli--crispy shell, smooth ricotta filling, a touch of citrus--was absolutely divine. Service by Alexia was friendly, genuine, and well-paced--attentive without hovering. The atmosphere strikes the perfect note between cozy and elevated, making it great for both date night and a relaxed dinner with friends. Granite Bay has a new favorite in Sette Pasta House. Food was good, sadly the service was uninviting which makes us not want to return. We came in at 5:30pm on a Thursday night, online reservation system had many reservations available so I didn't feel the need to make one. The host told me there were no tables available and that the reservation system online is wrong. We sat at the bar with our 2 year old, I notice they were seating people with reservations however, there was an empty table from the time we got there until the time we left. The service was very rushed and we felt extremely uncomfortable the whole time. We spent over $100 to be in the restaurant for less than 45 minutes (also not sure how our food came out so quickly). I expect a lot better for that kind of money. read more
