This place is dabomb.com. Quirky/cool, full of character. Kinda like a speakeasy, in the sense that it's on the 7th floor of an apartment building, and you need to sign in and get a name tag at the front desk. Great food selection, and fun events (standup comedy, karaoke, Bollywood night, etc). People (both staff and patrons) are always nice, friendly, and easy to strike up a convo with new friends. I'm glad I live and work so close! (Also, they serve food until 2am, which is a huge plus when working late or getting home late. And they deliver in the immediate neighborhood). read more

I went Seven Bar because it's near my residence. I got mexican omelet since I went there for brunch :) There were a waitress working alone. She was very very friendly. The food was pretty good. It was a bit too greasy but okay. Toast that served with omelet was very good. It was toasted well. The price for food was in average. I liked food but it was a bit confused how to get into the restaurant because it was on one of the floor of residence building. read more

I ordered UberEats and ordered the chicken Alfredo and side salad with blue cheese. The chicken had absolutely no taste and the Alfredo tasted like water. The salad was just some lettuce with a few tomato chunks on top with the wrong dressing. Super disappointing meal. 100% will never order again. read more

Where do I start. Howabout with the manager. This man was not a pleasant person to be around, and his bartender was not knowledgeable at all. I had asked to go out on the balcony and the bartender (along with the busser) said that would be okay and pointed me around the hall. I was then stopped by an employee and they told me I had to be a resident. Okay, I guess the bartender didnt know wjhat she was talking about.. The attitude of the Manager is what really turns me off about this place. No apology, for the poor service, and just a stuck up attitude in general. I have to agree with the other yelper here as far as the upkeeep of the place in general. Loooks dingy and divey, but not in the good way... more of the exposed wire and cobwebs sort of way. It's a shame because I live close and would love to frequent this place. I will happily walk an extra block or two and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Worst experience ever! Had reservation for 20 planned months in advance. The restaurant was not prepared. No tables were set up. Only one female on staff to manage the bar, the restaurant and the karaoke. She had serious attitude the entire night. Everyone's food was cold, drinks were poorly made and she was not able to accommodate the karaoke requests at all as she was the only one there. A request to speak to the manager was denied as he was the only one in the kitchen cooking at the time. The party of 20 eventually left due to the poor service and poor management. Not one person in the party of 20 could say anything positive about the event and their experience at this establishment. NEVER AGAIN! read more

My husband I went here since it is literally one building over from where we live, and we didn't feel like going far or cooking. It was Saturday at maybe 8:30 and there was 5 people or so at the bar and 3 other tables, and only one person working both the bar and the tables. She was very friendly, but of course, she was not attentive as she had so many people to take care if. We ordered some appetizers which tasted like they were frozen but were edible. We had $5 margaritas which were good tasting but a little weak and small. I don't mind paying for a $10 drink when it's a decent size, the ones we had just seemed to be half sized drinks at half price. The pizza we ordered was by far the worst I have had in the city of Chicago. There was way too much sauce and cheese on it! The sauce was very pungent, like they used tomato paste because they ran out of sauce, and it was caked on there with so much cheese it was not edible. They must have used 10 pounds of flavorless mozzarella on this thing. Not to mention it had no seasoning whatsoever. We asked for seasoning and she brought red pepper flakes and more cheese! No amount of red pepper flakes could save this disaster of a pizza. I would rather eat the awful chain pizzas like dominos and papa johns then eat their pizza again. I know some reviewers loved their pizza, so maybe I just caught them on a bad night, but it was a bad enough of an experience that I won't go back even though they are in the building next to mine. read more

This is my (now not-so-)-secret warm comfort food destination. The decor is a little strange, perhaps (reminds me of The Shining)... but the staff is very helpful and the food hits the spot. Plus, it's an elevator ride and a few footsteps away. Ya can't beat that. read more

I would have given 2 stars if this place didn't have free delivery at midnight. I ordered wings and french fries. The french fries were good, but the wings were not good. Actually, I ordered hot wings and got regular. They were fried very hard and tasted disgustingly greasy. The people were very nice, which is a big plus for me, but I need the full package: service and product quality. Probably won't try this place again. read more

I've owned a condo within two blocks of the seven bar and restaurant for almost 10 years and never realized that it was nearby. Tonight I returned from out of town too late to catch dinner at the better-known nearby places. When I realized that the seven bar was only blocks away and open until 2 AM I thought I'd stop by for a drink and dinner. Apparently this was karaoke night and when I approached the bar to make my order there were a number of patrons basically screaming off key so loudly that I had difficulty placing my order - this went on for the next two hours! I finally communicated that I wanted a martini - which was presented watered down to almost no alcohol - and a chicken plate which arrived late and dry. During the seemingly endless wait I finished the martini and ordered a margarita (actually not bad) and also a chicken-Kebab thinking I'd finish my drink and take both orders home with me. However, the first order finally arrived and despite it being dry and all around sub-standard, I managed to eat it. Then I paid for the whole order hoping I could quickly leave as soon as my kebab arrived. After that I sat at the bar for literally an hour waiting for my order to arrive. The only bartender was so inattentive and the music (if you can call it that) so loud that I was unable to get a clear explanation as to what was happening with my order. Finally, after waiting a full hour - and unable to tolerate the noise level any further - I walked out despite having paid $10-11 for an order I never received. Please understand this is the first restaurant review I've ever written. And I'm only doing so because this was the worst restaurant experience I've ever experienced...and I'm over Seventy! read more

i went groupon crazy in preparation for my first chicago visit and unfortunately, the groupon for Seven was better in print. it was oddly situated in what seemed to be an apartment/condo building across the hall from a nail shop. the atmosphere is exactly as "Justin O." described but unfortunately, we didn't order the pizza (we ordered the taco salad and a cuban sandwich both of which get two thumbs down). the waitress was a complete doll though! the only reason i would visit this place is if i lived in the building and that's not happening. ever. read more

This was the second time within 5 days that I received an incomplete order. On both occasions, I had to wait for delivery to return with the missing items . So tonight, after delivery person came back with my 2nd order of wings, he handed me a receipt with items already charged to my account that I didn't order. If quiet dining in a lovely atmosphere with well prepared delicious food is your idea of a good evening, then stay the HELL AWAY FROM HERE. Holy cr@p, I thought they threw up on my plate. First, the third degree with my driver's license in the lobby of the condo building, then entering and seeing disco lights (yes, 1970's disco lights) in full force as disco music was playing. Two losers at the bar added to the evening, but what REALLY made it was the family ignoring their 3 kids running and screaming around the place. Wondering just how bad this twisted bloody car wreck of a food hole could be we ordered two diet cokes, which tasted like the inside of the soda gun was cleaned with Clorox. Our server, who apologized because it was his first night and he had no supervision, took our orders and promptly brought back my nachos (more specifically, institutional tostitos with shredded, non melted cheese and shredded lettuce from Dominick's on top with a cup of Pace salsa and a cup of ?? ballpark melted cheese that looked like the diarrhea of the Michelin Man) and my girlfriend's "omelet" (described as 'eggs cooked brown lacking the vegetables that were supposed to be in it, accompanied by rock hard cold toast and mushy hash browns). We were ready to puke after two bites. So, all in all, it took care of our hunger. Now we plan to get de-liced and de-wormed. Bring the kids. read more
