Great service, small place, but the food was great for the price. Think it's a hidden gem, can't wait to go back.

We happened on this spot on the way to a show, and so happy we did. Such a cozy small dining room,…read moretastefully and simply designed. Everything was delicious! I had the classic Tonkatsu Ramen, with an egg - The pork ws seared and still so tender! The broth was very flavorful. My husband has a salmon rice bowl, and he loved it. He said the fish was cooked perfectly! We started with veggie gyoza, and they do them in a very interesting way. Very flat and all fried together. We were surprised when they brought them, but they were awesome! we were. fan of this style almost immediately! The waiter gently recommended the pork gyoza (his preference) but not everyone at the table eats meat, so we stayed with the vegetable. We really enjoyed our meal! everything was quick, the service was above and beyond, we would happily return!

As a non-vegetarian though, from my small sample size, I was not too eager to want to try more nor come back, although it doesn't taste bad. Gyudon - This bowl had more onion than beef, which is not ideal for a fulfilling main. The poached egg is impressively petite, and the bowl otherwise has a pleasant sweetness to it. Friedman is an absolute must-visit if you are looking for an incredible burger in NYC. I honestly…read moredid not expect to be this impressed, but this ended up being one of the best burgers I have ever had -- and quite possibly the best burger of my life. I ordered the burger with cheese, and everything about it was perfect. The burger itself was THICK, incredibly juicy, and cooked beautifully. You could immediately tell that the meat was high quality, and knowing that they use Creekstone beef made it even better. The flavor was rich and beefy without being overwhelming, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. The patty had that perfect combination of a beautifully cooked exterior while still being extremely juicy and tender inside. And the bread deserves its own paragraph! The brioche-style bun was excellent. It was soft, slightly buttery, and substantial enough to hold the thick patty without falling apart or becoming soggy. It complemented the burger perfectly rather than taking away from the meat. The combination of the juicy Creekstone beef, melted cheese, and that excellent brioche-style bread was honestly phenomenal. What really stood out to me was how substantial the burger was. This wasn't one of those thin burgers where you finish it and immediately feel like you could eat another one. It was thick, hearty, juicy, and incredibly flavorful. Every bite felt like you were getting exactly what you want from a great burger. The fries were also excellent. I really appreciated that they weren't overly fried or greasy. They had a great texture and were crispy without feeling heavy or excessively oily. Sometimes fries can completely overwhelm a meal because they're so fried, but these were much more balanced and paired perfectly with the burger. Overall, Friedman absolutely exceeded my expectations. The burger, especially with the cheese, was outstanding, the Creekstone beef was incredibly flavorful, the brioche-style bun was excellent, and the fries were the perfect accompaniment. If you're in NYC and love burgers, this is a must-go-to. I would absolutely order this burger again and would highly recommend Friedman to anyone looking for a thick, juicy, high-quality burger. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever

Don't always believe Yelp reviews--especially coming from a Yelp Elite--so let's set the record…read morestraight! First off, just a quick note for anyone looking: this restaurant is not halal. Aside from that, we had a fantastic experience here at Friedmans Herald Square near Penn Station. They were playing Hilary Duff music, which was such a fun touch since they often match the vibe of whatever is happening at MSG! They even had special Hilary Duff mocktails. The atmosphere is super sweet and cozy. The restaurant was empty when we first walked in, but the second we sat down, it completely packed up! The waiter was very friendly, and even though they weren't able to split the check at the table, they did provide an itemized receipt to make figuring it out easy. The food was great overall--the Mac & Cheese bites and the corn were especially good! We also tried the cheesecake and molten cake. Plus, the neighbors sitting next to us were so sweet. A wonderful spot with a fun vibe!

I heard of this type of dining being common in Japan. When I was recommended this place in NY, I…read moreknew I had to check it out! Having your own little private booth made it feel unique compared to a typical ramen restaurant. I only waited around 5-10 minutes for dinner which wasn't too bad. I got the Classic Tonkotsu Ramen, and everything about it hit the spot. The broth was super flavorful and savory with the perfect amount of saltiness. It was rich without being overwhelming, and the portion was just right for me. The overall atmosphere was casual and chill. There is a self-serve water station and hand sanitizer available. You don't really interact with the staff. They would open the window and put your food on your table. There is a call button if you need to order more food, but overall, not much interaction. Perfect for solo dining!

I could've ordered the rice along with it, but I didn't want to do carbs on carbs especially with all the walking in the city. - Matcha beer was exactly what I thought it would be. Match + Beer. Refreshing and it was a good decision because it reached 90F that day. - Service was fast. We got our food within 5 mins of sitting down. - Place is exactly like those YouTube videos where they show what they eat either here in NY or Japan. Great lighting and I forgot to add the water dispenser is right behind you so you can easily refill yourself. I was expecting a hot water dispenser right next to you and matcha powder because I've seen it in some videos, but it's not the worst thing in the world. I'd go back, but I'm not much of a city person so I don't know when that would be. I will say, ordering from a kiosk takes away from the experience of writing on the paper you see on YouTube but again, not the worst thing in the world.
