The Benny Sampler was an amazing idea - we got to try two different Egg Benedict's. We had their Crab Benny and the Southern Benny. Both were amazing, the Southern Benedict reminded me of the chicken egg biscuit we had at the Pine State Biscuit in Portland, Oregon. They also serve the Portland Stumptown Coffee which is very nice too. The kids had the Smoreo and Cinnamon Roll pancakes which they enjoyed as well. Brunch is a thing. It's a thing in Denton as it is a thing where I currently live in Portland. On the weekends the few brunch places in town have lines out the door. In Denton, it's places like the Oldwest Cafe, the Loco Cafe, Cartwright's and the Seven Mile Cafe. There's always a wait and the food is almost always great. I've never been much of a brunch person but if that's what the father wants, that's what he gets and Seven Mile Cafe is where we ended up. We did have a wait but it went fairly quick. The food is a little on the spendy side but there is a good variety with egg dishes, waffles, pancakes, benedicts and even some Tex-Mex like migas( or vigas for the vegetarian crowd)and Huevos Rancheros. These Huevos Rancheros are what was calling me. Crispy tortillas, black beans, ranchero sauce, shredded pork and two eggs. The pork is what made it excellent. Sweet and cooked perfectly. The tortillas were crisp and when I cut into the eggs, the yolk covered everything with such goodness and made it all even better. As with most all Texas food, bigger is better and this wasn't a small breakfast. My daughter had a chocolate chip pancake that was the size of the plate. She loved it. With as busy as this place gets on Sundays, it wouldn't have hurt to have at least one more server. They have their own coffee blend but they also carry Stumptown Coffee from Portland, Oregon. Delicious food, this is a favorite breakfast spot but their lunch menu is great, too. The highland village spot is usually super busy but the Denton one has more room so we usually head that way. Their parking is usually full but that doesn't mean there aren't tables ready for you inside. Servings are large and the food is delicious, I love the scrambles. read more

When we arrived at noon the wait was about 45 minutes. This is on a Sunday. We waited about 30 and then we were seated. It has an upper story but the great thing is that if you can't do stairs they have an elevator. Our very wonderful and attentive waitress was Faith. She was a jewel. Helped us decide what to drink and eat. She knew the menu and the products which is an asset to any business. The honey lavender latte extra sweet was almost perfect. The temperature was just a hair cool for my preference but the taste was fabulous. I tasted my daughters cinnamon maple latte. It was very stout just the way she likes it. The oatmeal was lovely. Good oatmeal is hard to find. The fruit was very fresh and firm and full of flavor. The standout of all of our food choices was the hash browns. They were so full of flavor and just perfect. Next up we're the pancakes. The cinnamon roll was super rich. The plains was tasty but the dream berry was beyond description. It was like a tart and sweet explosion. Holy S**t, if you're looking for the best god dang eggs Benedict ever come here! My boyfriend took me and I was skeptical at first, especially after seeing the prices. Let me tell you, ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY. I always get the Seaside Benny and it's the most decadent, delicious and mouth watering thing ever. We usually get the Bananarama pancake as well, which is banana and Nutella, which SLAPS so hard. Last time we were there we got that free since it was near closing, which is beautiful. This place has the darn best coffee I've ever had -- if you're a coffee snob like me, this is where you find the richest, most bitter, wonderful coffee. I highly recommend the cappuccino! They also have amazing carbs (pancakes) and a TON of healthy and/or vegan options! It's hard to find a place that can cater to both your sweet tooth and your longevity. I ordered a cinnamon roll which was warm and good, but not their specialty. I wish I drank coffee because there were so many options! My bf had the waffles and they were really nicely decorated. I was did not enjoy the scramble. The cheese wasn't even melted and there was an off flavor to the sausage.
