Stopped in finally to get some brisket to put on my bake potato for supper. I'm so glad I tried this place! Ready to try more items in the future! I got a lb. of brisket and it was super fresh and very tender. Wonderful Smokey flavor and the BBQ sauce was perfect! Not tangy, not sweet...just goooood! Ordered a side of rice and beans for my wife. I cannot stand beans but I did try one bite. It was very tasty! My wife loved the flavor and said she would get it again. They have beef jerky so I got a small of that. Flavor was on point but a tad bit on the dry side for my liking. Unsure if I will try that again. Staff were very friendly and took COVID precautions seriously.

This hidden gem shack is situated on the corner across from New Seasons. Street parking only. Now onto the meat. Oh, the meat. My crew of three came here on a chilly Thursday just before closing at 6:30pm. We got the 3 beef combo and a pork sandwich from the very kind lady who took our order. After a 7min wait (MAD FAST!) we were handed by the same masked and smiling person a bag of food. Smelled delicious, felt hefty. Bee lined back home to eat - wish there was a park or something nearby to sit and grub. Be prepared to get it to go! The 3 meat came with ribs, brisket, sausage/onions, smoked pickles, BBQ sauce, a slice of wheat bread, and my side of choice (GREENS). The pork sandwich came pickles on top with a side of potato salad and BBQ sauce. Ribs: Smokey, meaty, rendered fat from a low and slow cook. Brisket: MEATY, tender, smoked throughout, delicious, encore worthy. Sausage & onions: WHAT?! I'm not usually a sausage fan but the smokey flavor takes these sliced sausage pieces to a new level. Greens: Smoked greens was a little unexpected for my traditional green and pig tails heart. Not bad, but I would try another side next time. Pork sandwich: Pickles layered on top. Normally I'm not a pickle fan, BUT I AM TODAY. The thick pork is anything but pulled. When you bite into the meat it just melts despite being in big, bold, beautiful hunks. Get yo' sandwich on, Portland. Pickles: Smokey and slightly spicy. A crowd favorite. Potato salad: Good, meh. BBQ sauce: THICK, slightly sweet, mildly spicy, and just solid. No twinge of vinegar (thank dog). I sopped up the sausage smothered in BBQ sauce with the wheat bread. Bonus meal.

I am surprised this small hidden gem has so few reviews as of today. What this place has going against it is that it is a little hidden on a side street but they do a good job with signs on the street to let people know there is something great if you turn off Killingsworth. The food they offer is perfect, high quality meats and the sides are outstanding. I do judge a place like this by its sides, they have to be good and not just filler for the meat. This place will not disappoint. The owner and his sidekick (cook? counter person? all around good gal?) are two of the nicest people you will encounter and make the whole experience delightful. If you see these signs while getting gas at 76, picking up booze or shopping at New Seasons do yourself a favor and check them out. They do run out of stuff later in the day near closing so its best not to show up late in the day.

After reading the great reviews, I'd wanted to get over there, and I'm glad I finally did. The ribs were perfect, the pulled pork was as good as I've ever had. When the brisket is solid but the least exciting bite, you've got a great platter. The mac and cheese side is excellent. I loved the slaw, though I'd skip it next time due to more onion than I'm cool with. Sauces are okay, but would love a spicy option. Honestly, none of the meat begged for extra sauce, I just love sauce. Seating was limited and the place is pretty small, so probably hit and miss during peak hours. Loved the food. Will return.

There aren't a ton of tables, but my dining partner and I were easily able to find somewhere to sit once we were done ordering. The food came out after a short wait. I loved the beans, potato salad (could have used a bit more flavor though), chicken wins (my favorite) the brisket, and the prime rib, which was extremely tender. Botto's has a really laid back vibe, great for a lunch or dinner out with friends and/or family. I would definitely visit again! Only downside was the cost. I can't say whether it was worth it or not.

I got the white curry with burnt ends, and it was delicious. The curry is not thin but not as thick as I expected. This is a very salty dish though and I found myself eating most of the rice which I don't normally do. I found myself wishing there were more cauliflower to offset the salt. Will come back to try the other curry / bbq dishes. My friend did say that the fried rice was too rich for him which I can imagine.

We came right before the dinner rush, so seating was available right away for our party of 3. Dishes we ordered was the Very Spicy Papaya Salad, White Curry w/Brisket Burnt ends, Massaman Curry w/ Smoked Lamb Shoulder, and the Roasted Mushroom Fried Rice. The salad was too spicy for me that my mouth was on fire, but those in my party who can tolerate spice enjoyed it. The curries were on the saltier side, but it definitely had the smokiness from the bbq, giving it more depth which I can see why it works so well with all the Thai flavors. If I were to choose one over the other, I would go with the Massaman Curry because the lamb was super tender and the sauce had so much more flavor than the white curry in my opinion. I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but it was a wonderful tropical and refreshing drink. Portions are a bit on the smaller side for the price point, but definitely worth trying. Will be back again!

Truly, as impressive as the menu is here, the real secret ingredient is Uncle Earl, himself. His larger-than-life personality, infectious laugh, and genuine hospitality create an experience that feels like visiting an old friend rather than a neighborhood food cart. I settled on The Arnold: a half pound of brisket with a side of mac n cheese and a corn muffin. There are a number of sides to choose from, but the mac sounded appealing to me. Indeed, it was very rich and satisfying, but the meat is why people flock to this food cart! Tender, sweet and salty, and oh, so delicious; this is the barbecue I've been missing in my life! I love supporting businesses that embrace community, and Uncle Earl's manages to do that very well. Just take a look at these reviews and you'll find it very clear folks here go out of their way to make sure customers have a positive experience and enjoy their food. What more can you ask for?
