I tried biryani and Haleem so far and truly my heart got hung in their food, staff members are so polite and calm. And this is one of the most spacial restaurants I have been ever here in Chicago and surrounded suburbs. It's economical for me but I guess students might find it little bit expensive but if you are a true lover of Hyderabadi food you will not regret being there..!! read more

Excellent considering the quality. Food: Unbelievable! The appetizers are delicious. The Chicken 65 is excellent. The mutton biryani is generous and perfect. Both the meat and rice are flavored in a very deep and unique way. The biryani is truly an experience unto itself and the portions are quite generous. The two sauces that are served with the naan--a yoghurt sauce and a peanut sauce--are borderline addictive. Ask for them to go and dip chips in them. Second time returning to Shaahi Biryani and they never disappointed me. The manager made me custom chili chicken rice that was not on the menu and without a doubt it was so fresh and outstanding. Hi, One of my friend refereed this restaurant, I went inside the restaurant, ambiance looks pretty much good. I walked in to the restaurant around 2:00 Pm on March 27th, 2022, As soon as I entered in to the restaurant I felt the smell of food /spices aroma, Felt good about this, thought the food will be tastier, I ordered Shaahi Family Pack Chicken Biryani & half tandori chicken , Chicken 65 & Chapati - all these are take out ordered in person, Total bill $56.27, after going to home, I started warming the food - Biryani & Chicken 65, Both started smelling very badly , food is completely spoiled, they must have just warmed the previous days food and packed and gave it to me., all my family was so much disappointed by the food, so I regret to say that this is bad food they are serving, and not recommending this to go to this restaurant again. We just left this restaurant. It's a nice, cozy place that's very clean. The tables were pretty empty but the staff was still busy taking care of what seemed like a large amount of catering and takeout orders. We were still attended to pretty well, though. Food came out quickly and it was GOOD. Probably the best Hyderbadi food I've tasted in the Chicago area. Portions were of a good size and they didn't cheap out on the meat in the biryani like a lot of places do. Everything tasted authentically Hyderabadi. The best part was that the food wasn't crazy spicy but still full on flavor. I've been to too many restaurants that served their food at intolerable levels of heat, with no refills on water. The food we ordered was chicken biryani, goat biryani (they were out of lamb biryani), mixed grill platter, and dum ka chicken. There was a good amount of food and we had to pack some, even though there were four of us. The mixed grill seemed expensive at 27.99, but you get a lot. We couldn't finish it all. They had plates, glasses, utensils, and straws all at the table. It's not a fancy place and is pretty much self serve. But if I don't have to tip, I'm not complaining. : ) A nice little feature is that on the side of the restaurant, way before the far off bathrooms, they have a little wash station, with a sink, soap, and paper towels. I like the food and the pickup options but the last two times I went, they didn't put eggs on the veggie biryani. Also, they don't enforce 6 ft distancing during pickup and masks. This kinda sucks and I have since stopped going. A lot of bros just sitting around in gaggles near the front area. I've also had them give my order 15 minutes late, and nothing more than an apology. 1st of all I want to thank the management brother Sohaib & brother Majid from bottom of my heart for providing excellent and honest service. I'm here in Houston, Tx and was initially ordering from their Uber eats app and unfortunately the app wasn't working properly due to malfunctions on my end so I called and spoke with Mr. Majid and told him the situation by saying that your Uber eats is not working for me and I have to order food for a family that was experiencing a death in the family in glendel heights, Mr. Majid suggested the best price range & also said he is willing to go out the way and deliver the food at no additional coast which was truly appreciated from my family. Went for dinner with a group of friends on a Sunday evening. We had called ahead of time and let them know what we wanted to order. We tried a bunch of different items on the menu and for the most part everything was good. There was a little inconsistency in the biryani but the last dish of biryani they brought out was excellent. However the only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because they did not have chai. We got to the restaurant by 7:30 pm and asked for chia at 8:30 pm. How can you have biryani and no chai? Can I give half a star? Well where to start. I hosted a Iftar party last night (06/18/17) for 14 people which included my family, my parents, my in-laws and lot of kids. So naturally after reading the reviews, we had high hopes but this place was such a huge dampener. The owner of this place is so rude and dishonest. He cut corners in every dish we ordered. We ordered 3 Beef Nihari and he brings 2 bowls and says he combined them in to two and the Nihari was so watery. No restauranteur worth his salt would ever serve two portions and say "I've combined them because I didn't have another bowl" that's the reason given. Can you believe it? Again with Lamb Biryani, I ordered two family packs and 1 extra Biryani. He combines it in to two portions and says that is all. The meat was raw, the rice was half cooked, service sucked. Half way through we wanted to order more food since there was not enough although I pre-ordered everything based on Sohaib's (guy who took the order over phone) advice, they said they have nothing left in the kitchen. The family pack lamb biryani comes with chicken on it but there was nothing on it and when I asked, I was told that they ran out of chicken. No apologies, no credits on the check, absolutely nothing and the owner was downright rude and dishonest and says there is nothing he can do about it. Two waiters and both were school kids, no idea how to run such a big table and everything I asked for, they've run out of it. I was embarrassed big time as I had hosted this iftar party and there were 3 generations sitting together and everyone returned home disappointed and dissatisfied. I don't even know what to write, I'm so excited that there's finally a place in Chicago with excellent hyderabadi biryani! I was so impressed with the texture of the rice/meat and the flavor was on point. We ordered lamb biryani, haleem and chapli kabobs. The chapli was a little salty, haleem was good but the biryani was grrrreat! Muslim owned. They had complementary iftar (kajoor, watermelon, beef samosas) and had maghrib in jamaat. We (family of four) came to Shaahi Biryani tonight and absolutely loved it. We read all the reviews before coming and were a little nervous since people wrote either really good reviews or really bad ones. The first thing I truly appreciate about any Indian restaurant in Chicago/Chicago suburbs is its appearance, cleanliness and ambiance. This restaurant meets the standard and puts others to shame. Secondly--the food. My mother-in-law cooks traditional Hyderabadi food every day and it's hard to beat. Honestly, this is the only "Hyderabadi" restaurant in Chicago that I felt had an authentic flavor and felt like home food. That in my opinion, is the greatest compliment. Tonight we ordered Lamb Biryani, Mutton Fry, Chicken 65, Daalcha, Chapatis, Mirchiyon ka Saalan, Chicken 65 roll and chai at the end. Everything was brought to us hot and fresh--also something that most other Indian restaurants lack. All the food was entirely flavorful and satisfying. We especially enjoyed the Lamb Biryani and the chai was the perfect touch at the end. I also want to add that the lamb to rice ratio was perfect and they did not cheat us out of meat. The service was great. Robin hosted us and helped us throughout. She is an enthusiast of Indian food and we enjoyed talking to her. Overall, we hope this place keeps up the good work. I went to this place and ordered chicken 65, haleem, family pack lamb biryani, and naan. Firstly, I was very skeptical about the haleem because good, hyderabadi haleem is very very difficult to find! But this haleem was just amazing! It's probably the best hyderabadi haleem I have had in U.S. (way better than a lot of desi places on Devon)! Second, family pack biryani was just enough for 5 people and it was pretty delicious also. Chicken 65 was also great. I would love to come back and try the other items on the menu. read more

Delicious food, great service, and they are on Uber Eats. They have the proper certifications for Halal food displayed and it is up to date. The environment is exceptionally clean, the employees and owners are all friendly. I always go for the Beef Nihari and the Goat, Chicken, or Lamb Biryani. The portions are great, the dessert is great, it's all good here. Another review said the lamb has a lot of bones, personally I enjoy sucking the marrow out of the bones as it is very healthy. If you don't like bones just get a beef or chicken dish. The goat and lamb is high quality and well sourced. This was the 2nd time I ordered food from here today via Uber Eats. Had a plate of Lamb Chops and Patthar ka Gosht. The only reason why I had ordered was because when I had ordered last week possibly on 3/11, the Lamb Chops were outstanding, both in quantity and quality. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Placed a pick up order online based on their website. Went I went to pick up the food, they tried charging me over $15 more than what I should be paying. Manager "Salman" said they changed their prices several months ago but haven't updated their website. He refused to give me a price adjustment and when I objected, told me he doesn't need my patronage and that he has plenty of customers! The entire restaurant was empty! Shahi Biryani has quickly become our go to restaurant. My wife and I usually take out and have ordered many items on the menu, though the sitting area itself is very clean and welcoming. We really enjoy their lamb biryani, apollo fish and Khorma. Most recently we had the Chicken Manchuria and it too was delicious. We catered from them some weeks ago, albeit just one main item, Dum Ka Chicken. Everyone loved it and I will cater other items from them going forward and will recommend you do the same. read more

I heard this place served hydro food so I wanted to try it out. Our waitress was really nice. The staff is nice. I was surprised by how authentic the food actually was. It does have hydro taste to it and not shaan masalas. I think the Haleem was too spicy and needed some salt. The lamb biryani was real solid.
