First time at Shake Shack. The team is so nice. It was like being at Panera years ago. Everyone seems happy and ready to help the customer. My cashier never snarled at me. Being a vegetarian I found the options reasonable. Food was fresh and tasty. I ordered the vanilla shake. I didn't like it much. I know. Something is wrong with me. I'm a big fan of the shack burger and the new Ann Arbor location did not disappoint! The parking lot was pretty full, so be aware if that if you're going out to eat on a busy weekend evening. The line was long, but not so long that it was annoying--just enough time to lock in your choice before ordering. Though it was crowded, we easily found a clean place to sit for our group of four. We all ordered shack burgers (some doubles). For me, it totally hit the spot and curved the burger craving I'd been experiencing. A few of my friends who hadn't been before thought it was good "but not as good as in'n'out" ‍ maybe you could honestly compare the burgers of the two joints, but there's no way that anyone in their right mind believes that in'n'out has better fries or shakes than shake shack. I was really impressed by the partnership with feeding America and purchased a handful of the $2 donation cards that can be redeemed for a free shake!! I was kinda expecting the free shake to be a puny thing, but it's the full-size, real deal! I tried the specialty shake of the month which is the cascara shakes and was totally impressed. Stopped by for lunch. Got two single ShackBurgers, fries with cheese sauce on the side, a Shack-cago dog, a root-beer and a root-beer float. Burgers were amazing. So fresh, even though we ordered ahead and got carry out. The fries were really crispy and the cheese sauce was great, tasted like real cheese not just the usual fake nacho cheese. Only downside was the hot dog. It was very chewy and not crispy at all, maybe it needed to be grilled more. Next time i would skip the hot dog and just get a bigger burger. I wish I had taken pictures of the burgers but we ate them too quickly. Will definitely be coming back to try a shake! read more

Finally got around to trying this location. Been to this place before at LAX and NYC. Needless to say I was excited to try it. Due to Covid, they had people order online. No problem... until it came to get the food. First off, I went on Monday. Ordered online, at 5:41pm. They said the order would be ready by I think it was 5:48 and they would send a text when it was ready. The email receipt also said to call and inquire about the order if it was over 5 minutes of the expected wait time. Since it was Covid, I figured I'd wait longer than the 5 minutes as described on the email. At 6pm I called... nothing, went to voicemail. Called again, nothing. Ok I'll head inside. When I walked up to the store, there was a congregation of people standing around the door. No line, queue or idea what's going on. They only allowed one person in the store at a time and had an employee stand at the door who was supposed to hand out orders and help people. I asked others waiting if there was a line and no one knew. All we could see was the ONE person talking to a customer inside while there were 8+ orders sitting on the counter. NO ONE could get their food, some had received texts, others after waiting 20+ minutes like myself wanted to ask about our order. One customer got so fed up, he walked inside and actually did the employees job for her. He yelled out the names of the orders sitting in the counter. Finally things got moving and people got their food. Unlucky for others waiting, his order was one of the ones on the counter and he had left with it... everyone else stood around waiting again. Seemed she did not want to call the orders out like he did because it was a cold night and she just stood behind the desk as people went in one at a time and either got their food or had an extremely long conversation while orders piled up. While waiting, I had gotten a text my order was ready. Couldn't go inside because someone was speaking to her, no line or queue either. Eventually got inside and got my order. It was one of the orders that were piling up in there. Since I had been waiting 45+ minutes for this, I decided to eat in my car and to no surprise my food was ice cold. Flavors were there but temperature of the food was miserable. Again this was on a Monday when things did not seem very busy. I can't imagine what it would be like when it is busy on a weekend or a bit later for dinner time. I get it, it's covid, it's cold but having everyone wait outside and only allow one person in at a time is a terrible policy. It's sad it took a customer to push out 8 orders that were sitting on the counter. I don't get how hard it was to read names off because everyone was waiting by the door. Save your time and money and go elsewhere for a hot burger until they figure out how to read names of orders that are ready unless you're ok with waiting almost an hour when it's not busy and freezing outside just to have your food's temperature match the temperature outside! read more

My and my friends walked into this location and were immediately greeted. This was already a great start to the trip. The lady working at the counter gave us very clear instructions on how to order, and in a polite fashion. Ordering on the tablets were very simple, and it was an easy process. The food came out in under 5 minutes and was fresh. The fries were hot and crispy. Although they are not my favorite fries they were still a good pair to my shack burger. The burger was small, but still enjoyable. It got the job the done. After a few minutes of enjoying our meal, Kendra, one of the employees made us feel at home. She asked us how our meal was, if we needed anything, and asked us for feedback. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Shake Shack and I am giving this review a 4/5 simply because I believe the fries could be better, and the burger could be a tad larger. read more

So excited to try this and yet so very disappointed in our experience. I learned afterwards that they haven't been open that long so maybe that explains the unorganized chaos. My friends and I had a difficult time even finding a parking spot. It was about 6 or so on a Friday night, but the plaza this is located in was packed too. You order at the counter and there was already a line. We scoped out the seating and had one friend grab a table so we had a spot when we got our food. One person was passing out menus to peruse prior to ordering and that was helpful. We got to the front to place our order and alas, they were currently out of shakes. Insert confused and questioning face here. It's called the Shake Shack. How does that happen? And, at dinner rush? We were already there so we ordered our burgers and some chicken nuggets to try. We got small drinks from the self serve soda area too. The sprite was completely flat, so this just added to our frustration. The burger was good. I just ordered the regular cheeseburger. Seemingly overstaffed with 17 people evident in uniform on Sunday still didnt result in reasonably fast service - a lot of folks staring at each other and roaming in random circles around the kitchen area. A clear focus on throughput for Door Dash at the expense of quality and in store experience. So forget dining in. Likewise, burger meats were undercooked and buns were really, really soggy and oddly cool...like they left them in a bowl with the washcloth. Staff were unconnected with customers and even the fact that they were in a public environment, somewhat offput by having these outsider customers in their cool kids clubhouse. Not good food and not a comfortable experience. My 8 year old daughter did love her shake though. Shake Shack has the best fast food burgers ever. They are not too greasy, and the buns are not too big so it doesn't throw off the ratio of the whole burger. The buns are slightly sweet too, but not overpoweringly so it has a good effect. The concretes seem to be made from good quality custard, but I wish corporate would standardize their mix-ins a little more. This location doesn't have its mix-ins listed, and has a total of three concrete combos to choose from, none of which are fantastic without a couple ingredients being substituted in or out. It would not be difficult to add a list of mix ins next to the list of custard flavors, especially since it doesn't sound like they have many mix-in options anyway. read more

We went there for the first time today. Welcome to A2! We ordered the chicken sandwich, 3 cheeseburgers, and 4 orders of fries. Everything tasted great. I thought the fries were just ok, but my kids loved them. I really enjoyed the chicken sandwich, it had a unique mayo sauce that made it seem more fancy then I would expect from a hamburger joint and the burgers tasted great, they had a BBQ/smoky taste. The place was very clean. Bathrooms were spotless. The service was super friendly and efficient. They give you buzzers to alert you when your food is ready so you don't have to stand there waiting like a dope. Our order was taken efficiently, made correctly and quickly, and tasted great.
