Wow, I found a Shake Shack location I haven't been to in NYC. This particular location did really have indoor seating besides the high tops by the window. Luckily, there was public seating directly outside, so I just ate there, although the tables were dirty. Plus it was nice weather to be eating outside at the time. If you want a second option, Bryant Park is like 500 feet away. They have four kiosks to order from. I haven't been to this particular spot before, and it reminded me how each location has its own little differences, even though the overall experience is pretty consistent. Pretty dirty in here. They don't have any napkins where you grab ketchup and stuff. Hardly any seats. I think this place is more for takeout. Also kind of a hard location to find. Looks like they get a lot of Uber Eats/door dash orders. You order on a screen. It asked if I wanted takeout or to eat here and I choose here and it still came in a bag. I got the veggie burger without crispy onions and got the lettuce, tomato and raw onions instead. The burger itself was very good. Def made up for the dirty atmosphere. Fries were great too! As far as Shake Shack locations go, this one leaves a lot to be desired. To start, this location is very small and there's barely anywhere to sit. Furthermore, the service is very slow. To explain, it took me over twenty minutes for a burger and fries. On the other hand, the food was solid, but could have been better. With that being said, I ordered a shack burger with cheese fries and it was fine. To put into words, the burger had good flavor and the bun was fresh. However, they barely put any sauce on the burger. In similar fashion, the fries were decent, but not great. The fries were crispy and hot, but the cheese was gooey and tasted a bit weird. Knowing that, the food was fine, but I've had much better Shake Shacks before. We ordered the chicken bites and fries for the kids and they were very good. Everything was hot, but sold separately. My husband also didn't see an option to choose which fountain drink he'd like when he made the selection from the kiosk and when he was brought a Coke there was a little confusion on whether it would be an issue to swap it out for Sprite. I had another place in mind but it wasn't open today so I settled on going to the nearest Shake Shack in the area I was in and it happened to be this one. Inside is pretty barebones, doesn't leave much room to eat inside and the place was very busy. The service, not the best I've experienced but I won't be too hard on them, since they've had 30 other orders to tend to. Mid service and condensed location aside, the one thing they came in perfect was the food and even though I just ordered a chicken shack and a shake, the chicken sandwich is always tender and the specialty Chocolate Yule Log shake was profoundly delightful. All 800 calories of that shake was pleasing to the taste buds. If you're more or less looking to get something on the go to eat, this isn't a bad choice. read more

I've been to a lot of Shake Shacks in the city over the years, but while this location is convenient, I didn't have a great experience here. Located close to lots of offices, Bryant Park, and Times Square, it was, of course, busy, so I didn't expect our order to be quick after we ordered on the tablets. But, as another review mentioned, this location seems to have an issue with the food being ready quickly and then sitting there. When waiting for the food, there is a full view of the kitchen area. My kid loves their hot dogs, while the majority of orders are burgers, so it was pretty easy to track when his hot dog was done and then time how long it was sitting there waiting. Almost 15 minutes. If it had taken that long to be cooked and ready, then I'd completely understand, because they are so busy at lunch. But for the only thing in our order, a single hot dog, to be done and just sitting around for almost 15 minutes? There has to be a better way to get finished orders out. There isn't much seating inside (maybe enough for 12 people), but on a nice day, that's fine because you can eat outside in the plaza. I don't think I want to wait that long for a hot dog again though, so we'll probably just go to a different Shake Shack. read more

Sitting in a restaurant yesterday a friend suggested we go there later for dessert because they have great shakes and sundaes. The Oreo cookie shake that I waited 20 minutes for was lousy...not worth the calories! Convenient location. Unfortunately it's also convenient for a couple thousand other office workers which means lunch is chaos, even when eating early and ordering ahead. To be fair, the staffers working to pack food were super friendly. But it's hard to feel good overall when you see food sitting out and getting cold before it even gets packed, so it basically had no chance of being hot by the time you get it. My rapidly cooling burger was less than satisfying, as the bun had soaked through. The patties also lost whatever crust it might have had and just sat there as sad steamed grey meat. This was the first time I visited this Shake Shack. I received a free deal on T Mobile and wanted to give it a try. Lucky for me they just opened this location right near Bryant Park. I placed the order on the app and walked over to pick up my food. Food was ready when I walked in. There was a long line of people waiting for food. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. It was cold so no one wanted to sit outside. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anywhere to sit so I picked up the food to go. The food was awesome. I really liked it. Clean, spacious new location that just opened a week or so ago, I've been eyeing it for a while and nice to have another lunch option in the neighborhood. Pretty standard shake shack menu, I got the regular hamburger for lunch today with most of the fixin's and it was the perfect sized burger for me, maybe on the smaller for a larger person, but I guess that's what doubles are for, or for $6.09 incl tax for one hamburger you could buy yourself a second one. Personally I'm a fan of the shakes and custards, though usually the ones with fewer add-ins for less sweetness. Planning to try a couple of these here as an occasional summer treat. Service today was good, I placed my order online directly on their website at 1:55pm and my order was ready within 10 minutes for pick up at 2:04pm. They encourage you to order online prior for pick up, tho I see self-service ordering stations set up in the store too. No seating due to covid, all orders are for pick up, and masks are required for entering. The staff is ready with tablets and you check in with them, they then pass your bagged food from the pick-up shelf to you. Glad to see the employees also wear masks and gloves. read more

New Shake Shack located conveniently between 6th and 7th ave right by Bryant Park! The space is clean and bright, and the staff are helpful and friendly. They have a few kiosks setup for card ordering and also a cash register by the front. The food quality is as good as your regular Shake Shack! Shack Burger was pretty delicious per usual & fries were also hot and fresh. I will say though that the wait was a little long considering we came at a lull period (they're probably still fine-tuning the operations). But overall a pleasant experience.
