I'd like to mention that I've been going to this Five Guys 1 to 3 times a week. I don't complain. The burgers and service are usually good. This incident occurred on August 1st 2026 at about 3:45pm. I usually ask for 2 individual cheeseburgers because the regular double burger is too meaty for me. I usually get the burgers that way: I ask for 2 individual burgers... However this time I ended up receiving 2 double cheeseburgers. I often let things slide when I'm back at work, though I'm not happy about it. I'm left trying to have something I didn't order, and end up throwing away half of it. sometimes things are wrong with the order, when I'm back at the lunch room at my place of work. In those situations I no longer have time to go back to fix things. This time, I was eating in the restaurant. I went to the man at the register who sold me the burgers and told him that I had requested 2 individual burgers, and these were double. He seemed flustered and like he didn't know what to do. He started by asking if I wanted to remove the extra patty. These are double cheeseburgers, and if you've experienced it, you know that everything is now incorporated with the cheese, and won't be properly removed. He said that he needed a manager, and called someone from the back (who I assume was a manager). The girl from the back was clearly giving me attitude off the bat. (I say "I assume she was the manager", because she didn't introduce herself as such, and I didn't get her name, but she made sure to stare at me with daggers in her eyes through our entire interaction.) I explained my situation to her, and she responded condescendingly with "that's the way that five guys makes their burgers." I told her "I know that, but each time I've come and ordered 2 "individual" cheeseburgers, I've gotten 2 single cheese burgers." I will say that often the cashier will clarify that the burgers are single patty burgers. There was no clarification this time, but I assumed that it was understood that when I said individual, it meant one burger with one patty. She stood starring at me as if I'm doing something intrinsically evil, as if to wish me dead. She then says, after a long pause, that she is going to refund me one of the burgers. She proceeds to do the refund as if this is a huge thing that I'm asking. Seeing that she seems so upset about what she's doing, I'm now worried, because I don't know what she intends to do. Is she telling me that she can only refund one burger, and expects me to leave?... Is she telling me that she is refunding one burger, and that the order will be replaced? I say, "Im sorry, but what is it exactly that we are doing?" She stops and looks at me with her death stare for another while.... such a long while that I feel obliged to say "I'm really sorry. I just ordered something and ended up receiving something different. I'd just like the order to be placed properly so I can get what I asked for." No tone... Trying to be as friendly as I could. She finally answered that she was refunding one burger and that the order would be replaced. I said "That's fine, thank you." I mentioned that there were the original burgers that she could take back, to which she answered "We can't throw any thing away back here. you have to throw it away yourself" I mentioned that there was a second burger that had somehow vanished behind the counter. She told the other young man that he shouldn't have thrown out the burger... I said "That's fine, I can throw it away." and walked to the other far end of the restaurant and dropped the bag in the trash. If any body's read this far, you'll realize how ridiculous this all is. My problem is that because of this sad excuse for a manager, my trust in this food establishment has been broken. I don't know if anything was done to my food... It arrived awfully fast after the interaction. An interaction that was far too long and drawn out, and filled with prolonged death stares, for the what situation was. I won't be able to trust anything I get from here any more. This isn't the correct way for a manager to act with something THAT WASN'T EVEN MY FAULT. So I won't be going back. I was relatively regular going there, but, I don't need that attitude if something goes wrong again in future. I don't deserve that. read more

Was good, not a greasy burger. Can also customize with toppings of choice. All toppings are free. Very very rude staff and GM. Ordered for company catering, this location refused to provide me with a receipt for my order even though that is standard practice. Apparently they don't send e-receipts of any kind. Told me they were "getting a GM that could help me" and then just put me on hold for 30 minutes. When I called back they blocked my number lol. I don't often go to Five Guys, but I decided to stop by the other day. The prices seem high, but you do get a lot for your money. I ordered a hamburger (2 patties) for around $10.50 as well a medium Fries for an additional $6 so the total cam to around $18 or so with tax. The burger, although fried on a stove top, was tasty, and the thick cut fries were hot and crisp. I think I ended up with 2 servings of fries in my bag because they really go heavy on those. So keep that in mind when ordering fries...one order might easily satisfy 2 people. So while everything was good, $18 seems to me to be a lot to spend for what ends up being a fast food experience. P.S. Oh yeah, I really did enjoy the free peanuts as well! Reminded me of times I spent at The Ground Round many years ago when that chain was still in business. read more

It reminds me of Costco Hot Dogs in a way. The fries are enough for 3 people and the free peanuts are always a plus. The service and staff is great. I had been to other Five Guys and though t I wrote review, but perhaps not. When you come in, you are greeted by piles of peanuts I never really understood--is it to chase away people with allergies? They have really good burgers. I like mine with BBQ sauce, grilled onions, and grilled mushrooms. I am not as big a fan of their fries, but they are OK. I like the machines that have sodas. Ordering is quick, but it can take awhile to get tour food. Definitely worth a visit. read more

My standards are a little high, although I have 'supersized' and 'special ordered' in the past, so my opinion may be a little biased. However I must say that a recent meal I ordered for my wife and myself from 5 Guys left something to be desired. Firstly, the burgers themselves are, or seemed to my taste buds to be, lacking in flavor. When you have committed to the occasional indulgence of eating red meat, you kind of want the experience to be a burst of flavor in your mouth. Sadly, the two patties, as I ordered their oddly named 'hamburger' as opposed to the 'little hamburger' ( which always makes me feel like a child when ordering,incidentally) were the flavor of cardboard. I also had to bring a burger back to my x who was at her place. I have been to a bunch of the locations across the country. In my opinion 5 guys is simple done right. Consistency is the name of the game here. Pretty much every location I have been too. For $7 you get a cheeseburger. At 5 guys a cheeseburger consists of 2 patties. A little cheeseburger is just a single burger. You can get a unlimited amount of toppings on your burgers. They hand cut the fries. You can get them in regular or Cajun. The peanuts are unlimited. The shakes are really good. Inside the location in midtown. There was a good amount of seating. Other locations like the one upstate. defiantly have more tables and space to eat. But your in the city. I placed my order online. The online on the app. Would not let me select toppings. I don't know why. So I went on my computer and was able to select everything. Paid online and selected my pick up time. I arrived at the location. The girl was like hey your josh right. It was kinda funny and slightly weird. She handed me the food I said merry Christmas and headed back. Really easy and efficient service. I know 5 guys can get really crowded around lunch time. Around 8:10PM EST this evening, I entered the Five Guys to get a few burgers for myself and relatives. The cashier, Tamiko L., was very pleasant and walked me through my order. While I awaited my order I noticed a few things; one of the gentlemen flipping the burgers removed his gloves and reached for a stack of yellow cheese slices and touched it with his bare right hand. I cringed. Then, the guy who was working on the fries would remove the fired from the grease and then salt them. And when I say salt them, I mean A LOT of salt. When it was time for him to give me my order, as I saw him placing the fries in the bag, I asked for fries that were unsalted. He turned around with an irritated look and replied, "The cashier didn't explain it to you, already?" Explain what, exactly? I wondered. He then snatched the fries out of the bag and threw them in the trash. He then gave me a small portion of salted fries to taste and said "taste it so you know what I mean." I tasted one fry and replied "it's too salty (for me). Maybe not for others, but FOR ME." He then shot back, "No it's not. I know what I'm doing. But, I will give you unsalted fries." After doing so, he handed over the bag and said "here you go", all while displaying a condescending facial expression with a dry smile. The fact that a Five Guys team member displayed this type of attitude and took me not wanting salt on my fries as a personal attack on his character is insane to me. What I got was two dried out patties on a soggy bun. The meat was dried out and tasteless no flavor what so ever. There are a few things you can trust in life. Such being: Five Guys will be across the street after rummaging Nintendo World for the latest pokemon plushes. In terms of decor, much hasn't changed since its inception. In fact, I'm sure even after a nuclear Holocaust, it'd look exactly as it is today. Sadly, despite appearing the same, the flavor has seen better days. This is evident by the lack of grease and cow juices squirting from every bite. You'll even notice that the smell of burger no longer lingers on your hands like the blood of Macbeth on his wife's guilty conscience. I'd note this as a good thing if the taste of the burger wasn't compromised. It's still a good burger; it just lost its bragging rights. I'm an authority on this, because I am a pig. Oink Oink. Oh goodness, I really need to go to the gym after this meal. It was like 2 cheat meals combined into one meal! I came here on a Monday afternoon during rush hour because I remembered how generous they were with their fries and was kind of missing the cajun fries. It was pretty busy when I got here. The ordering line was short but lots of people waiting to get their order. The cashier, Joshua, was alright-- a little on the rude side and made me feel bad because I didn't know how to order .. "cheeseburger vs little cheeseburger." The food took a while to come out and it was pretty obvious why, they have one guy (poor guy) flipping patties for every single person! Doesn't it make sense to have more than one person working that station? While everyone else is just standing around waiting for all the patties to be made.. 20 minutes later, I get my food. The fries were a lot better than I remembered it to be. I ordered a medium and they gave me a medium cup and then extra fries were thrown in my bag. It really made my fries a large .. so next time I will just get a small which means "medium." The thing that really threw me off is how my cheeseburger has TWO patties and TWO slices of cheese!! Been a fan of Five Guys for a while now, even before they came to NYC. Their signature peanuts and throwing shells on the floor has gone away here which I understand as to why. But you dont come here for peanuts right? Basically you get a choice of 3 burgers, regular, cheese, and bacon cheese. Then you can get creative with toppings, either all in red or all in black known all the way. The standard way to get your toppings is called "All the Way" and comes with mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup, and mustard. Other condiments/toppings available upon request are: relish, onions, jalapeno peppers, green peppers, A-1 sauce, barbecue sauce, and hot sauce. The fries here are very thick and tasty and they give you a huge portion. Soda I always skip on and opt for the water, but they do have iced tea in the machine. You can also order online and come here to pickup as wait times can get lengthy especially during lunch hour. There are lots of tables available, and again if you come during the busy time you wont get one unless you're lucky. The AC was blasting here and it did not feel like a burger joint, but was very pleasant to sit down and enjoy my meal. I like this location a lot and will be coming here times and times again until my arteries are fully clogged from the grease and fat. I just tried Five Guys Burgers for the first time the other day and I am hooked! What I liked about Five Guys is you get to customize your own burger and put whatever you want on it. You can choose: between 1 patty (little) or 2 patties (regular), select either a hamburger, cheeseburger, or bacon cheeseburger, and free toppings to go on it (lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, ketchup, mustard). I ordered the "little" Bacon Cheeseburger, with lettuce, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. The patty was cooked medium well, was well seasoned and juicy. Actually, the little burger wasn't so little after all. I also ordered a small order of the Cajun fries. The small order was actually huge in size and enough for two people to share. I wasn't fond of the Cajun fries: it was over seasoned and way too salty. Next time I'll just have the regular fries instead. I will definitely be back again for lunch! read more

Really good burger. Better than Shake Shack. We got a bacon cheeseburger with everything to share, but I'm pretty sure I could've eaten the whole thing myself. It was really messy to eat, and they seriously stuffed it with mushrooms, onions, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sauce.. It was juicy, seasoned well... Though maybe too salty for us. Loved the fries. They were really hot, just out of the fryer, but I was so hungry, the ones on top were just cool enough to eat. Fresh cut, not too salty. Plenty for sharing. $$ compared to your average burger but this beats any fast food burger any day. Had a quick lunch here with a coworker and, as always, we had a really good meal. Decor: It's a Five Guys so the decor is standard: it's bright, clean, and set up with nothing to hide as you can see your burger being made every step of the way. Bathroom: Again, it's a standard Five Guys bathroom: clean, bright, inviting. Staff: The staff was friendly and very FAST (both with taking my order and preparing the food). Another thing that is pretty obvious is that they seem to like working there, they seem happy and energetic. Food/Drink: I only had a burger this time but it was prepared to perfection. Seriously, it was cooked perfectly and everything tasted so fresh! Instead of fries, which are amazing so you should get them, I had the free peanuts - I love the peanuts - and they were very fresh as well. Finally, I just had a water. Value: For the price, you can't beat the solid burger & fries combo at Five Guys. Both taste wonderful and are pretty cheap as well. While I can't have it in my weekly rotation of lunch spots, as I would get nothing done in the afternoons, it is a solid spot that I will continue to come back to on occasion. read more

Five Guys burgers and Fires, first time I heard it, I thought, what a interesting name, it really got me wonder who those five guys were. I was just around the Rockefeller Center, after a long walk started to feel hungry, so decided to give this place a try. How thing works in this fast food restaurant was quite new to me, they allowed me sort of design me own burger. there 5-6 different main style of burger, I picked the classic hamburger, after that, i could pick different topping (extra ingredient), such as grilled mushroom, tomatos these sort of thing. Some of them have to paid extra though. I also orders some Fries and a drink. They gave me a cup after my order, with that i could just pick whatever I want and fill it up in the machines near the entrance, it was a bit like in Mcdonload's. And I could refilled it anytime I want, awesome. Right, this place is self-service. I have to say the fries I had here, it was just amazing, one of the best places I have tired so far. As i heard they used peanut oil to make it. I know, it wasn't that healthy, but it was kinda hard to say no, beside I don't usually have them. At the end, altought the place might look a bit like a cafeteria, it was really good. The price wasn't expensive as well and people can have the food the way they want. I have constantly been introduced to Five Guys by passing a co-worker and the very distinguishable aroma greeting my nose, but never myself experiencing Five Guys.
