Not a pricey place but their food seems to be on the healthy side. I haven't tried the burgers yet but I LOVE the french fries with the cheese. I always ask for my cheese on the side because when it gets cold on the fries it becomes a little stiff buts that's ok because I takes the cheese home and sit the container in hot water to warm the cheese up on my homeade fries. Oh I always order more the one thing of cheese because I hate eating cold I recommend the place because the staff is always ready to please the customers. When you get good customer service you won't focus too much if the food isn't that great...I'm only speaking for myself...bad service and I will not return whether the food is good or not. One of my favorite places to grab a quick bite and eat on the road. Originally from New York and this place is making a hit in Los Angeles! Located in the city of El Segundo we came to order inside the restaurant. The inside has no indoor seating due to COVID but they do have a patio section if you want to eat here. Since its already September they have the pumpkin shake and man this is super delicious!! Tried a few sips from my friend's drink and I really wished I had ordered one! We ordered everything spicy from spicy chicken bites, spicy fries and also the spicy chicken burger! Overall the flavor was pretty spicy actually which was pretty surprising to us. We drove on the 405 and was just eating in the car for our long drive ahead of us. Overall the food was enjoyable and I totally would come back for more! It's been a while since having tried Shake Shack. As I walked into the restaurant, you can either order at the front or the kiosk. I ordered a Smokeshack, crinkle cut fries and Oreo Cookie Funnel Cake Shake. The Smokeshack was pretty tasty. The cherry peppers made the burger spicy and overall was good. Just want to give a quick shout out to shake shack for their strict Covid 19 safety procedure to keep both employees and customers safe! We arrived early around lunch time to pick up our shake shack the other day, and a unmasked customer was trying to order food at the entrance, the employee asked him to put his mask on, but the customer refused to do so, so the employee politely refused service! Literally everyone waiting in the parking lot were shocked at this rude unmasked customer and happy that shake shack employee was polite but firm about following the company police regarding Covid 19. This happens almost every time I order for pickup. Either the order is never ready and I'm waiting an extra 15 mins (what's the point of ordering in advance) or a version of what happened yesterday. I show up, the one checkout guy checks the to-go bags and tells me it's not ready yet (we're already 6 mins past the time it was supposed to be ready), so I wait. His back is turned to the shelf with the orders coming out and no one seems to call out names as they put the orders on the shelf. I noticed also, he never checked the top shelf, which I assumed he already knew those names on the bags. 15 minutes later, he looks at me and I check my watch. He then goes through the bags again and this time looks at the top shelf...where my order has been sitting the entire time. So my family enjoyed cold fries and burgers for dinner. You guys really need a new system. This happens constantly and reminds me why I don't order here more often. read more

Generally the food is decent, and the kitchen is quick. The protein burger with lettuce wrap was good except for a clump of someone's hair inside of the generous lettuce leaves. Nobody in the kitchen had hair like the ratty wad in my sandwich and it wasn't my hair because my hair's purple, so I figure it was when the lettuce was processed earlier in the supply chain. If you have room for dessert definitely try the Downtown Butter Brown frozen custard. There is plenty of things on the menu to choose from so there is something for everyone. Even beer and wine. Food was good but overall I was a bit underwhelmed by it, given how much people I know have been hyping it up. We got two burgers, two fries, two drinks and a chocolate shake to split and it rounded out to a staggering $50.00. I was pleasantly surprised with my burger, I got the Shack Stack and when you bite into the fried portobello it's filled with Muenster cheese! The bacon fries were pretty good, bacon was cooked well. Portions are on the smaller side though so I didn't really feel full after I ate. I got the hibiscus lychee punch and it was all right, I guess. I wouldn't pay $5.00 for that ever again though. The highlight by far was the milkshake. I am someone who absolutely loathes most milkshakes made at restaurants because they're usually made with a vanilla ice cream base and syrup for flavoring. Shake Shack is one of the few restaurants I can think of off the top of my head that uses actual chocolate ice cream for their shakes and not that gross vanilla ice cream blended with chocolate syrup concoction--and yes, you can 100% tell the difference. As good as it was though, I'm not sure if I'd come back seeing as the tiny burger I got was like $12 alone, the fries were $5.50 and the drink was $5.00 as well. So all in all it cost me $22.50 for food that was pretty good, but not especially filling. I can get the same thing at In-n-Out for like half that price and roughly the same quality, and they also use fresh ingredients daily. It's a shame, because I did actually enjoy the food. I just don't see myself realistically paying $22.50 to eat at a place like Shake Shack. read more

Burgers had no flavor, fries were overcooked, and chicken bites were really overcooked, almost as if they took an old previously fried batch and refried it again for way too long. The chicken was a dark brown, almost black, color. Took one bite and couldn't take another. It was incredibly hard and inedible. Just threw them away. Wish I snapped a picture before tossing it. A basic strip mall hamburger joint with a bit more upscale interior than In N Out Burger. The surface parking lot is a zoo during lunch time rush hour. They have attendants to direct to open parking spots, but it's literally a run for the races to get one when someone leaves. And as you can well imagine everyone here is driving to get here. You order at the counter and they let you know when your order is ready for pick up. The cheeseburger was well grilled and tasty, again a bit of a step up from In N Out Burger but a bit more pricey too. Had the fries to accompany it. Not bad, fairly usual crinkle cut. Of course I would rather be eating Shake Shack, with a view of the Flat Iron building in New York... But this is just as good! I usually get the Shack Burger, with some cheese fries! Can't complain about the burger. Has good flavor and pretty filling. I can't say no to some cheese fries! I don't know what it is... but the cheese they put on the fries must have crack in it! Cause I keep going back! The last time I went there, I had the Chick'n Shack but requested it to be protein style. The chicken was very flavorful. Parking: Small parking lot. Some dumbass decided to turn on his hazards and park in the no park zone. Well his car got dinged a few times from people trying to leave there parking spots. Prices: Kinda pricey. i think about $10-$11 for the Shack Burger and Cheese Fries. Service: Never had an issues. Friendly and they get your food out in a timely manner. Will I be back? Heck yesss! This is our closest shake shack and it's always been a good experience coming here. Staff is always nice and moves quick whenever there is a line of people. My meetings in El Segundo were a short walk to several food options, including options that were much healthier, however, I opted for Shake Shack and I think I'm a fan. The menu is fairly straight forward and easy for a first timer to navigate with options other than burgers. Since I was combining breakfast and lunch, I went with the ShackBurger Double and an order of fries. The fries were nice and crispy without being over done and I must admit that it was the best burger that I have had in quite some time. And what I know for sure is that my ShackBurger ran circles around that Pinky Pump Burger that I had on Saturday in WeHo. I didn't go with a shake this time because I was going into an afternoon of meetings and I didn't want to risk a food coma whilst sitting in a corporate boardroom. Did not take back, as know they would throw it away and I don't like to waste food so took burger home and cooked the meat so it was not raw. Service was decent. No complaints about this restaurant itself. It's the food that is not to my liking. Costs $15 for a cheeseburger and cheese fries. I think that is such a ripoff because it taste so gross, cheesy, and greasy. The buns are super soft like hawaiian sweet bread that they are soaked in grease and compress easily. Like flatten out when you hold the burger. Lacked appealing flavor. When you take a bite out of it it taste mostly like bread soaked in cooking oil with extra milky cheese. Then the fries. Not only is the portion small, it taste stale crispy like burger king fries. I guess like frozen fries as people are saying. The cheese taste too milky. I'd rather get del taco fries- wayy better. [Review #438] 2019 Yelp 100 Challenge (90/100) Shake Shack has been on an expansion spree, & one of its latest locations is in a new plaza on the corner of Rosecrans Ave. & Apollo St. called Apollo Landing. The burger joint is often compared with S. CA fav. While the establishments shouldn't be compared because Shake Shack has a casual dine feel & the other is more of a fast food restaurant, the menu is very similar with more expensive price points at Shake Shack. I'm not sure if there's a secret off-the-menu items. ;-) Stuck in traffic, I took a detour & ate for the very time at Shake Shack. The restaurant is quite large with plenty of seating with a decent amount of parking due to the numerous eateries. The menu offers more than the standard burgers, fries, & fountain drinks/milkshakes; there's also chicken & hot dog options, desserts, beer & wine. I kept it simple with the SHACKBURGER (cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato, ShackSauce) with added pickles & onions, & CRINKLE CUT FRIES. It's hard not to compare Shake Shack's Burger to the local fav because they're very similar in design & taste. I especially like the patty's crisp crust, what I consider to be essential in a good burger (but was a bit greasy to my liking), though the lettuce was skimpy (just a single leaf) & the tomato barely noticeable (it's thin-cut & smaller than the patty). And the added pickles were a necessity to provide some acidity; the ShackSauce was kinda like 1000 island, nothing special. Overall, it was a solid cheeseburger. However, I really liked their fries more -- crunchier & perfectly fried; they have the better fries. There's 3 flatscreens in the dining room with various sports entertainment on screen. If that isn't enough for your entertainment, there's also foosball & shuffleboard tables, though I suggest grabbing some sanitizing wipes by the condiment bar to clean off the handles before playing. o-O I like that this is a family-friendly restaurant, especially providing changing tables in both the men's & women's restrooms. And more importantly, service is excellent... welcoming & friendly staff that offers suggestions for newbs like me, immaculate dining room & restrooms, well-stocked condiments, etc. Shake Shack is a solid 3.5 stars... good food & even better service, but given their higher prices & distance, not likely a regular stopover for a burger. This is a toughie. Hubby prefers Shake Shack over In-n-Out, but I've always loved In-n-Out a smidge more until we started ordering from Shake Shack during the pandemic to avoid those long In-n-Out lines. At first glance, I did not like Shake Shack. I tried it in Vegas back in 2017 after a hiking trip with roommates and felt it was overpriced and underwhelming. Flash forward to 2020, hubby takes me out on a Shake Shack date in Long Beach after a day at the aquarium and it was surprisingly pleasant and I slowly became a fan since. The Shackburger is a solid burger. Basic but so good, especially with the extra cheese sauce. The patty is seasoned perfectly and the buns are soft and pillowy. I also love their chicken bites and especially the hot dog! Hubby and I each get a hot dog with our burgers because it's so darn good. Don't even get me started on the crinkle-cut fries. They are so good especially after being reheated in the oven. Extraaa crispy! The ONLY downside about Shake Shack is their lack of quality veggies which I feel In-n-Out excels in. If they upgraded their flimsy tomato slice and measly piece of lettuce to something fresher, it would have probably beat In-n-Out for me. Last thing, love their curbside pick-up! read more

They recently added Chick'n Bites to their menu and they are tasty even without any sauce (unlike some chains).
