If you like savory burgers with delicious fries and drinks, then go to Smashburgers because this place ain't it; although...still better than Big Bad Voodoo Daddy burger or whatever it's called - I don't plan on going back there either. First off, they don't put any condiments on your burger except for their own special sauce. You go around the corner from the counter and there's a station with ketchup and ketchup to-go cups with lids. Thanks. But, where, are, the, other, onessss??? Oh, behind the counter so that you have to ask the cashier for them. And don't be presumptuous in thinking that the cashier will remember that you asked for the condiments in advance and load your bag with them -- nope. You better check before you walk out the door or sit down if you're dining in, or you're eating a dry burger. Secondly, it's ala carte. This seems to be a growing trend among these burgeoning burger places, and I'm not digging it. Maybe it's my age or maybe it's just plain old frugality, but as a child of the 70s growing up in the 80s/90s, I'm used to places like McD's with its value menu; places like Shake Shack et al wouldn't have stood a chance back then. But NOW...even though McD's and it's ilk are still making money hand over fist, more and more consumers are looking for "better" alternatives. You almost get shunned for eating McD's in some circles -- so now you're shamed into eating a $20 dry burger and fry from Shake Shack and the like. And the "large" drink at Shake Shack would be a medium, at best, any where else. Well I, for one, refuse to be ashamed of my frugality any longer. I'm taking a stand! I won't be goaded or starved into spending $20 on a dry burger again! I find Burger King tasty and affordable. Hardee's reminds me of my childhood. Wendy's is definitely firing on all cylinders, and even though it's combos are a bit pricey, they're worth it. Chick-fil-A is a treat, but also a bit pricey, so I usually go for the kid's meals -- it's just the right bite for the price. If I want an alternative to the burger/chicken sandwich, then I choose Qdoba. It's chicken bowl is truly delicious and quite filling; with a drink, it usually comes to just under $12 or $13 in my area. Worth it. For context, I work in construction and it's not a realistic physicality to cater to everyone preferences, so usually majority rules. I work in a different city than I live, and we usually work in areas that offer food options different from what I usually see in my small-ish hometown. I'm a basic kinda girl. I don't always have time or energy to make my own lunch -- construction can really wear you out if you were wondering. I can barely get out of my car some nights, I'm so sore and worn out. So standing up in a kitchen can prove to be problematic at times; the shower is the best I can muster. So, if I don't eat when the mob eats, then I won't eat all day. Upside...I'm losing weight. Because sometimes, I don't want to pay $20 for a dry sandwich. read more

Truly this is my last visit at this Huntersville location. I routinely receive service with an attitude. I simply asked the young lady to put my food in a closed container since it was cold outside. Her reply was, that's how it comes. I said I understand but it's cold outside. She stormed off, went to the back and mumbled a few words to her coworkers and came back and slung the food in containers so hard that the tomato flew out of the burger. Cheeseburgers were delicious. Fries are okay but the milkshakes make up for it. The atmosphere is great. The staff is welcoming. Even though they are extremely busy the staff somehow manages to get everyone's order right and in a timely manner. I recommend you try the cheese filled portobello mushroom cheeseburger. My experiences to date with Shake Shack were from suburban Cleveland, OH. Everything was superb on each visit. Today we ordered 2 cheeseburgers, 1 hamburger, 2 iced teas and a shake for $29.00. Wow! The burgers were ice cold and no ice in the teas. You have got to be kidding me. Shame on you for the sub par food. Nobody was there at noon and so wasn't busy. Here's the deal. We will wait a bit and give y'all one more try. Do it again and it's buh bye forever and we shall pass the word around. People won't put up with it and you will close within months. Hire a manager and fire the food prep folks. Radical change is needed... now. Sorry to be brutally honest, but a hot McDonald's cheeseburger has ya beat for a price of about $1.25. read more

With all the hype I would give this establishment maybe a 3 out of 10. Give or take a point. The chicken sandwich was great but the fries are subpar; you can get better fries from just about anywhere including the grocery store. The seating is a issue if you are taller than 6ft. The tables are bolted to the floor in the booth. So that means the side way shuffle. For two people at 40.00, go somewhere else and get better food at a better price point! read more

5 stars! Glad they set up shop in the Huntersville area. Food is just as good as I remember from up north in NYC. Location is a bit small though and wish they had a Chicago Dog on their menu again. Don't come here looking for a cheap burger and combo. Go eat off the McDonalds dollar menu then. Come here if you want a tasty burger. I personally recommend the Smokeshack with pickles and a side of Shacksauce. This is my favorite fast casual burger joint and blows Five Guys out of the water. For such a great and convenient location And new location this place is just sad. If I had to compare the food and service I would rate it with McDonald's. The blonde at the register yesterday along with everyone had no customer service, no hospitality, and no pride in their work. Burger was so greasy my bottom bun was soggy. Plus after waiting for a fast food burger I waited over 25 mins along with people who was waiting before me didn't even get their orders. But what's worse is their cheese fries; the worst tasting and fakest cheese I've put in my mouth. The level of Quality in their food is way below my standards. Every single time I have come here I have never once had a good experience with a staff. Even though I was respectful and nice, they are always rude. I haven't once seen a smile from the entire staff, not a single one has a friendly or positive attitude. They get personally offended at the idea of customers placing orders, even when there is no problem. One girl just looked at my girlfriend and I while we were trying to order and wouldn't talk to us. We just shrugged and went to the kiosk instead. All of the employees look as if they hate their jobs. They rather spend time on their phones and gossip with one another (which I've seen) than work. It's disappointing because the food is so good but the employees just leave a sour taste in our mouths before we even get to eat. It's sad. read more

Man we love Shake Shack...but not this location. The app is constantly down and there just isn't a lot of organization. We've had missing items and frozen items and just about everything in between. A good burger is my absolute favorite meal. We decided to try out Shake Shack - Birkdale for the first time since it's burger week here in Charlotte. Two words...DON'T BOTHER! Subpar burger, almost like a slider, way too much sauce and junk on the burger that the bun was nothing but soggy and tasteless, fries were good, prices astronomical! $44 for three burgers and three fries. I never mind spending a little extra money if the food is worth it. Staff was not that friendly either. Disappointing all the way around. Go someplace else is my recommendation. Had lunch at the Shake Shack in Huntersville NC today and am absolutely sure I will never go back. All though the somewhat small chicken sandwich tasted OK I was shocked at how expensive the place was after having to wait on myself. $23.88 for two chicken sandwiches a small diet coke and a small strawberry shake is ridiculous. No fries or other side was offered for the overpriced meal. You have to get all of your condiments, napkins, straws, etc. yourself. When your food is ready you have to get it yourself and the place is absolutely the loudest I have ever been in. The waitress taking our order couldn't here me, acted like it was an imposition for a first time customer to ask questions about the menu and it was easy to tell she did not want to be in the place. Don't really leave reviews but I felt I needed to on this one. I'm only giving it 2 stars because I like the food. Took almost an hour to receive my food and that was at a time when the place was almost empty. Not once did staff even ask how long I had been waiting or give me any update. Received a text that my order was ready when in reality it wasn't ready for another 25 minutes. Me and my wife were the last ones in the store after finally receiving our food, staff must've forgotten about us (even though we were sitting in plain view) because they even locked the store down with us still in it. I'll take my chances with any other burger place next time which is a shame because I actually like the food served here. read more
