If you know me, you know how much I love Hollywood. It was this Wednesday 6/10 and my son and I were coming to the Yelp Elite Event at Hokey Pokey Ice Cream. We wanted to eat some food first and decided to eat here. It was surprisingly such a great experience that neither of us were expecting. We walked in and were greeted by AJ who walked us to our table. It's a pretty big restaurant and FULL of historic music memorabilia. Great music playing the whole time. We got here around 4:30pm and ended up staying until 8pm. There happened to be a Trivia Night going on that happens every Wednesday from 5-8pm. My son and I played along and had so much fun. Not only did we have fun, but we also ended up having a free dinner! We won first place in 2 different rounds and each time we chose the prize that gives $10 off your bill. The other option was $20 off the merchandise in the gift shop. In the end, we also ended up winning the grand prize in the last round of trivia and got $50 off our meal! What a night!!!! The management said everything was taken care of and did not even bring us a check. We even got some cute medals for the categories where we got 2nd place. We had great service throughout the meal, although we went through 4 different employees. The first one was Brent and he was one of the managers. He's the one that took our order and answered all my questions. I even asked him if he could accommodate us with some bread and he brought us some sourdough. Then we had Andre, Scarlett, and Alma closed us out. I ate the Salmon Entrée that came with mashed potatoes, vegetable medley (green beans, corn, cherry tomatoes) and a sweet 'n spicy mustard glaze. It was DELICIOUS and I loved every bite! My son had the Southwestern Bowl (add chicken) that came with mixed greens, quinoa, pico de gallo, red cabbage, black beans. He said he liked his dish too. We didn't have any drinks other than water and didn't order dessert. Huge thank you to all the staff and management at Hard Rock Cafe for providing us with such a great experience. I also have to give a shoutout to Ty. He was the one running the Trivia Night and did an EXCELLENT JOB!! He doesn't work directly with Hard Rock but still needs to be acknowledged. He was so great at his job in every aspect and I made sure to tell him. The restaurant was very clean and the gift shop fully stocked. The bathrooms were clean and they have 1 for each gender. For parking, you can park in the Ovation garage and they'll validate your ticket ($3 for 4 hours. I would definitely come here again! read more

I used to visit the Hard Rocks a lot. I was excited to go again. While the memorabilia is still really fun, the overall experience was mediocre. Host/Hostess were great, warm & welcoming. Our server was at best inconsistent. Cocktails were terrible - we got an old fashioned that was sweet and watered down. We ordered the Nachos which were a 3 as was most of the food we ordered. Usually I would stay away from a big chain restaurants like this but it was so hot and it was very convenient for us to eat here . We got sat down immediately and looked over the menu . I am a fan of this Hard Rock Cafe location. Yes, it is definitely a tourist attraction, but for those guests who enjoy music, music memorabilia, and good food, this place is for you. The service offered by EVERY single employee is incredible!! And you literally have to enter and exit through a gift shop. I stopped here cause I was in a hurry to eat before a show nearby. I think I'll skip it next time. Depending on what you are looking for, this might not work. They have very casual ambiance with a darker feel. It is family friendly but more of a bar feel. Our server was prompt to take our order. We ordered the nachos and added steak and 1 beer each. The beers were nice and cold. The nachos were a bit of disappointment since they had very little steak for the price. You pay around $9 to add steak. The nachos came out to about $30 which I don't think they were worth that. I used to love ordering this and it has definitely shrank throughout the years. They tasted good, just not many toppings. Overall I give it a 4 because I also understand that it is a tourist trap so you are paying the price for it. What a fun night! David, our server, was super prompt and there was a lot going on! Full house, live music, lots of people, 8 of us for dinner. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp along with French Fries that would be not be too filling but to save room for candy and popcorn later. The Spicy Shrimp was really good and did have a little spice to them. Our server was Summer and she was amazing! She was very nice, professional and just made us feel very welcome in the restaurant. It was unbearably smelly at the bar like a sewer system, and Old alcohol and we have not picked up these bar mats and mop the floor in forever. It's so dark in there and they put the menu right under the light so you can't complain about it being too dark in air, but seems CD and we need to turn on these lights in Vacuum. These floors steam mop the floors. The sticky bar top. And no lack of customers I saw the restaurant was pretty full. People were eating dinner, but it's a little more lit in the restaurant section, but that bar area at the top right off the street no good clean it up read more

Saw a movie at the Chinese Theater today (Prince, sign O the times. Amazing) and then went with the family to the Hard Rock for dinner after . There were 8 of us. We were seated right away. Our server was great as was the service overall. Most of us had the smash burger with fries and there were a couple steaks ordered as well. The burgers were ok and the steaks were a little over cooked but all in all it was a good experience. The place is not as nice as the original which was at the Beverly Center but maybe I feel it was a better atmosphere back then because I was a lot younger. Good music, good food, and good service. I was looking for a restaurant in Hollywood (not an easy task) to dine at that is convenient, has a large menu and doesn't cost a lot. I picked Hard Rock Cafe because it was always solid in the past, never dissappointed and I always will have fond memories of the coolest Yelp party I ever attended at the now closed Universal location (sigh). You come in from the boulevard (almost across from El Capitan) through their huge gift shop! We spotted the host (very hard to understand and communicate with) and we were given 20 minutes wait. The restaurant was more than half empty so why the wait? Finally, we were taken to our table by another host and we didn't like that the table was near the kitchen (half empty restaurant, right?) and we communicated to him and he pointed to another table even closer to the kitchen. Like I said, very hard to communicate with the hosts. When we mentioned that we don't want that table either, he got frustrated and pointed to an upper area and told us to wait there for... couldn't understand. We went up there (half empty area) and decided to take a seat at a booth and wait and see. A waiter showed up and off we went! Terrible host service! The waiter was nice, we checked the menu and ordered their Classic Hurricanes (not as good as we remembered, lacking flavor and not strong enough). We continued with their Classic Nachos, let down by the lack of toppings, very cheap with it, a tad burnt, if you want more, you need to keep adding and paying. We continued with the Southwest Chicken Flatbread, a tad too salty, the dough was too thin, it made it harder to eat. Not bad, but had better flatbreads! So food and drinks, not as good as we remembered! Prices way higher! Decor- not very Hard Rock, kinda generic, trying for upscale! Memorabilia - there is, but placed around restrooms and kitchen areas. So look for it, could be a hunt for finding it! The music playing, well... not so rock, more like hip-hop. Not the vibes of different times, more like a tourist trap. I won't be back to use the free desert with a Yelp check in, because Hard Rock Cafe, well, it's not Hard Rock Cafe anymore!
