I've been to several Shake Shacks over the years and this was my first time coming to this one yesterday and I had a good experience here! The staff was friendly and ordering was a breeze and the quality was about the same as their other locations. I came in and ordered the limited time Hot Ones burger and cheese fries. I received my food fairly quickly in less than 10 minutes. The cheese fries were delicious and with the Hot Ones sauce to dip in and the Aleppo pepper seasoning, it had a good kick in my mouth of heat. The cheese sauce helped balance out the heat but I enjoyed it. The Hot Ones burger was also quite delicious and there was a good amount of the Hot Ones sauce in the burger so I got a good amount of spice from it and by the end, I was starting to sweat a little. The angus patty was cooked well and not dry and the addition of paperback cheese and the bacon made for a rich burger. Their burgers are smaller than most other places you go to but the quality of the ingredients is what you pay for, and I think it's worth the extra price! This place isn't what it used to be. Service can be really slow and backed up when it is a show day. The burgers are tasty but kind of overpriced. For a family of 6, we pay way over 150 to get shakes and burgers. The shakes are so good though. They are made fresh. The bathroom is clean. You need a code to get in. The dining room isn't too big, but luckily there is whole outdoor seating area for nice weather days. read more

To preface this review, I don't really eat on Hollywood Blvd because it's known for being a tourist heavy area with bland, overpriced restaurants. I only came here because I just got out of watching a musical at Pantages Theater late at night and hadn't had dinner. This Shake Shack was very crowded, no doubt many customers there were also coming from Pantages. They had kiosks where we could order from, but it was not user friendly at all. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't letting me check out, so already frustrated, I had to go to the counter and order from there. I've had Shake Shack maybe less than 5 times in my life, but this is the worst Shake Shack I've been to. I'm not sure if other Shake Shacks in Los Angeles do this, but at this location it felt like they really cut corners, and the food is not cheap to begin with. I got one of the lemonades and it was nearly filled to the brim with ice cubes that there was hardly any actual lemonade. The fries were soggy. The burger was kind of small and limited; for being more expensive than In-n-out burger, Shake Shack burger is known for being meatier, but it was not that much better nor was it more filling than In-n-out's. It really feels like a classic Hollywood restaurant where everything is expensive but the effort to produce something that's actually good is just not there. read more

Our first visit here on a busy night just 30 minutes from closing. When we ordered to dine in we were not hassled with "we're closing soon." Instead the server told us to take our time even if the doors are locked. We had burgers - of course. Cooked very well and exceptionally flavorful. My vanilla shake was a good texture and a good size portion. I won't say this is a negative, but upon entry there was a bank of kiosks to place orders. People crammed in there trying to figure out how to use the touch screens. No one ordered at the cashier so we walked up, placed our order in 30 seconds and moved to our seats. Kiosks are (obviously) not for everyone. All in all a nice meal which we enjoyed following a show at the nearby Pantages theatre. read more

It's been a good long while since I've been to Shake Shack and after enjoying a show from Pantages down the street, the burger here sure hit the spot. Okay, I'll probably get some flack for calling the 'Shroom Burger a burger and saying it hit the spot, but it really did! The portobello mushroom was lightly battered and was crispy. The bun was soft. The veggies were fresh and crisp and the sauce was great. The crinkle fries were great! The line to order wasn't too long and it also didn't take to long before someone came by with our order. The amount of space available at this location is a little tight for the area: they're in a portion of Hollywood Blvd that has a TON of foot traffic. I loved the food at Shake Shack, everything was exactly as ordered and tasty, and I thought the service was above average for a fast food type restaurant. Unfortunately, this location is right in one of the busiest sections of Hollywood near Pantages Theater so it was incredibly crowded, messy, and had very tight spaces and limited seating. If I go back, it would be during a less "peak" time to avoid some of the crowd and chaos. read more

This place is a short walk from The Hollywood Pantages Theater and open till 11:00pm. Our show ended just before 10:30p and we walked on over and beat the crowd. There were 3 of us and one of my group members gor a table for us while we placed our order. It was our first time at any Shake Shack. We ordered an Shake Shack burger, a Shroom Burger, bacon cheese fries, and a strawberry Shake. Serbice was pretty quick and friendly (thank you). The food was delicious and we were happy. After two and a half years of waiting to see Hamilton down the block-- the result of two different COVID related cancellations of previous tickets-- the fateful night finally arrived, and off to Hollywood we went with three families, including 9 children 14 and under. The plan was to get there early, and enjoy a meal together at Shake Shack. Having eaten at the Crystal Cove/Newport Coast location, I thought I had an idea of the "menu, the venue, the seating..." but had not visited this location. It's noteworthy that much of our experience here was likely not in control of the business, and better attributed to the location. But a review is a review, and it was what it was. First up: parking. It's Hollywood Blvd. and we have three cars carrying 15 people. You just resign yourself to the $25 per car thing to park for dinner and a show. Not Shake Shack's fault. Next: ordering. The stanchioned queue at the door moved fairly quickly, despite the wall menu being low enough to get partially blocked by other patrons in line. And if you know, then you know. Arriving at the cashier, the young fellow taking our order was patient and cordial. He began the transaction by inquiring if we were planning to eat inside, nodding towards the signage indicating indoor patrons need to be fully vaccinated as of November 4, 2021. Also not Shake Shack's fault... and we opted to find a table outside rather than play Not-A-Doctor Barbara Ferrer's Kelloggs Corn Flakes game with young kids for whom we had negative tests in hand (Pantages' requirements) but not vaxes. Next, the food: we ordered a few different burgers, fries, fountain drinks. Not cheap for burgers and fries served on a tray with paper wrappers, but man-- those Hollyweird rents gotta be high. We were given a number on a stick, and went outside to look for seating. Food came out fast, so bonus on that at least. The tables: nothing available on their smallish patio. Again, we had 15 people, so we weren't expecting miracles. Just outside the patio were several additional tables that we sort of pushed together and improvised a place for all of us to eat together. Another "Not Shake Shack's fault" but mildly annoying: our outside table was adjacent to some wooden planter walls, upon which several folks of all walks of life were variably camped out, zoned out, or in two cases, smoking weed like it was their last chance to do so. Yeah I know... legal now and everything... just sometimes -- and I know this is a real STRETCH of courtesy-- maybe read the room that a family of small kids doesn't want to eat in the exhaust of your cheap ass stems n seeds bag? The Shake Shack "security guard" didn't seem to care much, so we tried not to. His job seemed to be primarily guarding the door between the patio and the exit to keep non-customers from entering the restroom queue, so beyond his fence line, I guess we were on our own. As for the food, it was tastier than I'd thought it would be, and smaller than I thought it would be. Fries were particularly good. After a $78 order for five burgers and fries, kids were still hungry. With time to kill before the show, and Mr. Spliff having moved on down the boulevard, the wife went back in for shakes to top off the kids bellies before the show. For whatever reason, the five minute wait for burgers and fries was 20 minutes faster than the wait for shakes. Seriously? You're called "Shake Shack" and it's a half hour wait for three shakes and a cup of frozen custard? The kids ran around or sat around based on age appropriateness, trying to stay out of trouble while they waited. Of course, when the dessert finally arrived it was decadent and thoroughly enjoyed. For just shy of $100 total fast food meal cost for a family of five, it'd better be. I don't know. Tried hard to squeeze a three star review for this business out of this two star experience overall. Maybe somewhere in the middle. read more

Total disappointment. I've never been and was looking forward to it. Got the veggie burger and fries with a chocolate shake. Opened the bag - first impression - total disappointment. Just sad looking burger. No lettuce or tomato, just flung haphazardly. Fries were not anything worth going out for. Could get a bag of McCains frozen crinkle fries and would be the same. They were loaded with salt too. The shake was chocolatey. The service was automated on the self serve machine. the bathroom smelled like stinky fish. I ate outside, it was kinda dingy. I felt bad for tourists but maybe they just dont know better. The beyond burger at Carls Jr is better for half the price. I feel like I threw away $23 . Was hoping it would be my regular once in a few months indulgence down the street. Looks like I'll just quit. Maybe I'm just over fast food. Somehow got the impression that Shake shack was better. its not. read more

First time trying Shake Shack and we love it! I usually don't eat burgers because I don't eat beef but they have a portabello mushroom burger with cheese inside the mushroom and it was really good! I am glad to finally found a burger I could eat. We also ordered some drinks and I got the strawberry lemonade and I think it was just okay. The food came out really fast despite having a lot of customers at the time. The cashier is also very friendly. You could order at the kiosk too. The interior is also lovely. Really hate writing this review, as we've been coming here since the week it opened. Three straight visits now this place has cratered. Tables so sticky they may as well be covered in flypaper, rough bathrooms, and just a general "who gives a &$!?" stance overall. No AC working on 90 degree days, an overall uncomfortable space and it's really too bad. $130 for five of us to get a burger & fries should at least get us a wiped off table and some AC. read more

Back for another round. I returned for the bird, white grapes and colorful people. Every host/hostess is very attentive, focused on not only your dietary needs. They also help you with discovering new things. The mood is always fun with a bit of chaos. You can sit back and enjoy the view around you. I'm normally not a drinker of wine. I was very hungry and saw a shake was in the area. I immediately jumped for joy thinking I would be buying an affordable good cheeseburger. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.... I ordered the shack burger and it was really good but the 8.50 price tag was insane! And they audacity to ask for tips. You don't tip at in n out. Anyway I went back to my car enjoyed the burger but was still very hungry. The burger was very small for the price but i said what the heck I'll get another one. A friend bought me a burger from Shake Shack yesterday, and to say I was impressed is a gross understatement, the burger was screaming good! I've read some reviews and some think In-N-Out Burger is better. Are they serious! In-N-Out's burgers have been doing nothing but getting smaller and Everyone knows this, complains about it but they don't care. Get a double I guess is their thinking. Now here's Shake Shack's REAL hamburger (not preformed and perfectly round) that tastes and makes In-N-Out look like a NO BURGER. Shake Shacks burger is the real Bomb burger folks! In American society's collective tier list of fast food, Shake Shack has a reputation for being high up there, but I cannot agree with that assessment. The burgers are just not good. They're small, resembling more like a big slider than a true burger, & have the same buns as McDonald's. In terms of flavor, preparation, condiments, & add-ons, I was underwhelmed. The burger just needed more salt in general & was so expensive for what it was. The fries were good, really crispy & fresh, & I appreciated the exotic flavorings, but they were not outstanding enough to elevate the entire meal. Didn't order a shake but tried my friend's orange creamsicle. It was good, but not something I would seek out purposefully. read more

I did not feel very appreciated when I was asked to leave while being profiled for looking the way I was. I was wearing the same hoodie and jeans I was wearing for maybe 2 weeks straight after getting mobbed and robbed dirty in these gritty streets of LA. Fine, that got nothing to do with Shake Shack, true. but all I did was sit down for copious gulps of water after realizing I was actually truly homeless with no one to call for help and no place to sleep. I was drinking two Redbulls a day so to stay awake at night and ensure that as a woman, I was at least not getting assaulted and kidnapped. my personal possessions and privacy? Oh you can all the way forget about that!!! The person that asked me to leave was the security guard named James. which is so crazy to me, because before I became homeless, he was actually friendly and cool as hell. Idk why his demeanor would have to change when all of a sudden I was experiencing the crazy life changes that I was in LA after a relationship going very wrong and ending up leaving me in the streets of this dangerous city, but it is what it is. I did appreciate the kindness of the other employee named Jay, who knew of my rough acclimation to LA, and the other associate who went by the nickname of "Yoni" at this restaurant, who would occasionally offer a complimentary refill of my lemonade, which was all I could afford during this strange time in my life. I would probably never come back to this restaurant just because of how I was treated during the time I was robbed, but for Jay and Yoni, I just might. Amazing experience! The worker Jonathan was so so so so helpful. Amazing super polite young man. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I felt at home at this shake shack[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and the food was absolutely divine. My personal favorite is the cheese fries. The cheese isn't just your regular Kraft American cheese it's just creamy delicious cheese that tastes not too salty it's perfect with the curly fries. Super busy place. Order via in person or via kiosk. Service was quick and friendly. For the adults, wine and beer and the food was amazing, delicious, and suoer messy; scrumptious! . I've personally never had a Shack Burger, so I decided today would be the day and order 2 Shack Burgers through their Delivery APP. Shake Shack apparently interfaces with UberEats with their private branded app. The delivery wait wasn't that great and took about 40 minutes. What was disappointing is in the bag was a single container of french fries. I didn't even order any French Fries! I was thoroughly disappointed and disgusted on how they can't even get their order right. Unfortunately I guess I will never have the opportunity to even try Shack Burger as this event has left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Had to wait 5 minutes for a cashier to help meanwhile some employees just trying to act busy, the incompetence of scheduling management is not the patrons fault and stop forcing client to use the self service If now they are making 20$ and prices got higher then I expect the service to pay $25 for a simple meal, I tried to use the machine and it was not customizing my order as I wanted so I needed a cashier. I'm a fan of Shake Shack Long Beach and was expecting the ShackBurger here to taste the same way it did at their Long Beach location. I was surprised to find the Hollywood Blvd. location makes their ShackBurgers saltier. Perhaps it was just the one I had. The salty taste was strongest with the first bite and dissipated after a couple more bites. The burger had perfectly melted cheese and fresh lettuce and tomato. Service here is good and the restaurant is clean. You order at the counter and an employee brings your order to your table. If you are eating indoors, you will be asked for your vaccine card. I think that is a smart and safe practice. If you need to use the bathroom, the code is on the receipt. Even if the burger was saltier than I expected, I thought it tasted good and was still pleased with my visit. read more

I literally LOVE Shake Shack and I can't tell you enough of how good it is. Every time I go I always get their Shack Stack. It's basically your typical burger but with a shroom patty which is a portobello mushroom that's filled with mozzarella cheese then battered and deep fried! Each bite you take into the burger you get a nice cheesy cheese pull and who doesn't love cheese?? Love me a good cheese overload. Also liked how the patty is juicy and not drying and the portobello adds a nice umami taste to each bite! Their shakes are also a must get when eating here! A super nice sweet treat to top your meal off, their shakes are thiccy and has new seasonal flavors as well. Also the service at every shake shack I've been to have always been pretty great as well for a fast food place at least. read more

What can I say about the shake shack that hasn't already been said. I feel like it's really overpriced. But then when I take a bite of that delicious burger, I start to realize that it's worth it. Shake shack is not going anywhere soon. It's always busy and the service is always good. I'm amazed at how they were able to change up the menu and selections. I feel like it's hard for a burger joint to compete and stay relevant, especially in this area. But there's a time and place for everything and shake shack has its time and its place. I feel lucky that every time I've come there's always been some street parking around the corner at a meter. I do know that the area gets pretty busy and that's not always the case, so I feel pretty lucky. I wish I had something to recommend, but I like all of their burgers and their fries equally. I don't recommend coming to this location. Too small and crowded without any room to spare. We couldn't get a table so we ate standing up. You need to show proof of vaccine if you want to eat on the premises. This location should've been bigger considering it's on a popular location and a couple of feet away from the Pantages theatre. Terrible service ever. NEVER COME HERE!!! We are driving all the way from North Cali. We are buying food and show the receipt to use the restroom but there is a security standing and not allow my 5 YEAR OLD daughter to use the restroom. Was waiting for our queue in the Funko Pop store, so we wanted some food while we wait. Shake shack is right around the corner and I've never tried their food before. As a in n out lover I always wanted to try this place out. Fair warning IF YOU WANT A GOOD VALUE BURGER THIS AINT THE PLACE. Items here are a lot pricier than in n out. With that aside let's go on with the review c: I ordered the regular Shackburger so I can compare it to in n outs. To be honest it was super disappointing. There wasn't anything special about it and it was about 50% more expensive than a double double. I also ordered a hotdog because I knew this was their pilot item when they were first founded. So I had to try it for my first time right? Absolutely disappointing. It wasn't anything special either. It's just a regular lame hotdog for $4. Y'all might be wondering how did I give this place a 5 star? THE SHACK STACK ALONE CARRIED THIS MEAL TO A 5 STAR. The fried portobello mushroom combined with a meat patty was amazing. It's super pricey at $10, but I dare say that it beats out in n out in flavor. The mushroom was very juicy, crispy and well seasoned. I've only ordered to-go through someone, so I can't speak for ambiance but it's an extremely busy lot, so if you live near & want to enjoy in the comfort of your own home, it may be best to plan ahead, bring ice box, take multiple ppl so one can order/pick up & other can stay in the car if there's no parking. We've tried the mango stinky rice sundae (must order), Thai tea lemonade- basically cha manaow (can skip), mango sticky rice drink (pretty good if you're looking for drink version of the sundae but can be off putting texture to some), Thai tea shaved ice (melted so fast so wasn't very enjoyable), pandan toast (a lil dry but good w gelato), & gelatos: mango (good staple), coconut milk butterfly pea (yummy/creamy perfect w mango sorbet), jasmine matcha (good choice), pandan milk (strong flavor creamy yummy), earl grey Thai tea (top 3), hojicha crunch (#1), & Thai tea coffee (eh ok just coffee). All the gelatos were shining stars it just depends on preference; very thick, flavorful, & creamy. I've tried 3x in the past 2 months but will be back for more~

Awesome experience! Went here with a friend and my grandparents before a show and Keisha greeted us warmly while we were waiting in line. I ordered the double shack burger, lettuce wrapped and it was delicious (sorry, not In-N-Out but I'll take it!). My grandpa ordered the smoke shake burger and thoroughly enjoyed it, he especially love the little bit of spice the grilled chiles added. Afterwards we still had some time before our show so we were just sitting and chatting when Keisha walked back over to our table and asked if she could clear our trash for us. She then asked if it was our first time here and after telling us it was she excitedly asked what each of us ordered and how we liked it. Then she told us about all their specialties and that each Shake Shack location has a different specialty. Well done Keisha, we'll definitely be back again! read more

Got my oil changed at pep boys and I thought they did a good job. I asked them to change it, they said okay, gave me a price, and then did it... Which is basically the best an oil change can go. They didn't try to upsell me on a bunch of additional service - Just a quick oil change and I was on my way in under 90 minutes. It gave me enough time to get some thing to eat. Man! I hate how good shake shack is because anytime I go in I'm sure to leave with an extra 1500-2000 calories added onto me but it's honestly worth it. The burgers are great and the milkshakes are even better. I usually get half chocolate and half strawberry to get the best of both words. It's usually pretty busy in here but they do an excellent job getting everyone served quickly and with a smile. My boyfriend and I went to this location after watching a recent UCLA-Western Michigan Men's Basketball game at Pauley Pavilion. Unfortunately, this Shack Shake was about to close, but we managed to split an order of a Double LA Roadside Burger, fries, and a 24 ounce cup of ShackMeister Beer for a total of $21.55 (before tip). The burger was juicy and yummy, but I must admit that I was disappointed by the size of the "double" burger, which is much smaller than an In-N-Out Double Double. I was not very impressed by the crinkle fries, but the beer was good. Overall, I think that we will return, but I still think In-N-Out has better burgers and fries. NOTE: Shack Shake validates parking at the adjacent structure, but the parking fee still is $6 at the kiosk even after the validation. read more

Not the best Shake Shack. But there have been plenty of nights I wish they stayed open later. (Shack Shack - why you close so early when there's so much late night stuff around? It would be nice to have you as an options over the In-N-Out on Sunset or driving a bit east to Thai Town.) I just found out that the company that supplies Shake Shack's hamburger buns - Martin's - is January 6 insurrectionist Doug Mastriano's major financial backer. So every burger sold at Shake Shack raises a tiny bit of money for one of the horrible people who tried to take over the country. I can't stomach that, so I'll be taking a break from Shake Shack until they sort things out. Note to Shake Shack: please get things sorted out. read more

Boy Shake Shack is expanding, I remember when I used to line up for Shake Shack in the grand opening Hollywood location. The burgers are PRETTY GOOD for the franchise, but hey... They don't have the price tag for franchise. Please don't compare in-n-out to Shake Shack, IN-N-Out is HALF the price of Shake SHACK.. or maybe 1/3 of price. Spent the last few hours of an incredible Father's Day at this establishment and the employees made our experience even more incredible. I am frustrated that I've forgotten the lady's name who dealt with my annoying family, who love to shout very specific instructions on how they want their burgers made, all at the same time as they run off to find the table, but she was patient and understanding and got everything down with no issues. It was alright, but nothing to write home about. We ordered online while we were customizing our Funko Pops next door, and by the time we got there, our food was ready. My wife's burger was messed up, but they fixed it pretty fast. She had the smoke shack burger and said it was good, just a bit small. The girls got cheeseburgers, and they thought it was fine but nothing special. I went for the shroom burger, and it was pretty much the same deal. I really enjoy having a burger at Shake Shack but they always get my order wrong! I can't have any type of dressings! When I ordered I told the cashier "please hear me, No dressings, no mustard, no mayo, no thousand island, no sauce, nothing"....I was specific because it has happened before. It's frustrating when it continues to happen. I was upset and couldn't enjoy my burger, it didn't help that the staff thought it was funny, instead of being kind and helpful. read more

Good burger. But not worth the wait. My cheese fries were horrible. I got two burgers and cheese fries. with a chocolate shake . Shake was almost completely melted. fries were ruined because of the cheese. Tasted like came out of a can lol. burger was ok. meet was very tasty . The double bacon smoke burger was fantastic! The BBQ Bacon cheese Fries were great too. Lots of cheese and bacon !
