Our food took over 30 minutes to arrive, when it did finally arrive, not all parts were there, and the parts that did arrive were not good. Our shakes were for some reason warm, the burgers looked as though they were slapped together with what was left in the back, and we only got 1 Dr. pepper, which was ice less and had no syrup in it, which was a result of a "broken soda machine". Brought my niece and her friend here after stumbling across this location while walking down Newbury Street. We were all super hungry (and freezing) so some burgers and indoor heating sounded like the perfect combo! Niece and friend had never had Shake Shack before (I've been to a couple locations in Los Angeles) so they were both pretty hype. We ended up ordering three Shack Burgers, some cheese fries, and some bacon cheese fries. You order at the register and you're given a buzzer to alert you when your order is ready. It can get crowded but they have two levels of seating so you should be able to find a seat! We found a booth upstairs (the floor where you order) and got our food. Portion size is kinda perfect for me tbh. The burger's on the small size but with some fries, it's a perfect meal. The cheese sauce is RIDICULOUSLY addictive and bacon cheese fries are a good twist if you want some more protein. My niece described her burger as "In N Out without the sauce" so take that as you will. The only problem with Shake Shack for me is the price. Our meal came out to 27 dollars which is decent for 3 people but kinda ridiculous for how small everything is. Food tastes great though so I's treat it as more of a once in a while thing and not somewhere to take people for a quick/cheap eat. Recommend if you've never tried before! By far one of the worst experiences ever. We entered a near empty restaurant and order 6 burgers and 4 orders of fries to go. We knew there would be a wait for the food to be made and was ok with that. After waiting 20 min, we inquired at the front desk and was told they were still making it. Ok, must have a lot to takeout orders. We waited another 25 minutes, asking about status every 10 minutes, just to find out it was sitting in the door dash type area for over 20 minutes while we were sitting right in front of the counter! Not only was the food cold (cheese fries really sucks when it's cold!), they missed a burger and an order of fries. This place has a fun, trendy feel to it. I purchased a marshmallow chocolate chip shake, cheese fries, and burger. From order to eating, it was 35 minutes. The shake was the "star" of the event (though a b-rate star) with a yummy flavor and consistency. It came last, so I was glad to have it "save the day," so to speak. When I bit into the burger, all I could taste was the "charcoal" of over-cooked breading. After eating just half of that sandwich, I moved on to my fries. They must have been having a good day on the day that I went because it didn't take long for my food to be ready at all. The system is as described though; the buzzer goes off before they fix your food but it didn't take long for them to fix it. This place was recommended by a coworker. She hyped it up so much I may have been expecting a bit more from it. Nothing really seemed extraordinary. Standard burger, bun, bacon, cheese, condiments, fries... cheese sauce for the fries was not so standard. My coworker likes the cheese sauce and said it was "everything." It was alright. This was my first visit to a Shake Shack. The chicken sandwich was amazing and very crispy. Cheeseburger was good but I would get the double next time. Yet there's always a line (even if you go mid-afternoon!) and you wait for your food. The food is mediocre at best. And at that price point and at a burger/fry place, I expect bigger servings. The burgers are alright, but small. However, the fries I expect a much larger portion than what is given (especially at that price point). The store itself is always a mess. They just don't clean tables enough so when its busy, you end up not having a place to sit or eating at a messy table. Its gross. Overall I am just not impressed, but I come back because it's close to work. The beef and core ingredients were delicious, but would have liked more intense flavors from the condiments. Maybe They offer more options that I missed. We came for a quick lunch Saturday and it was a wrong day to visit! PAX East was right at the convention center so there was a major line inside the Shake Shack. We ordered dine in and gratefully managed to squeeze ourselves onto a high top table shared with another couple. We waited about 15-20 minutes for our food. My fried chicken sandwich was cooked very well, to my nice surprise. I gobbled it up haha. Even my fiance said he would get it next time after sampling a bite. He usually doesn't go for chicken when eating out. His smoke shack with double patty was a different taste of pleasure. I could easily see myself get that one and consume it in less than ten minutes! I live for a good burger and this is one of them. The problem is that it's quite expensive for what it is and I believe Five Guys has more of justified prices for similarly satisfying burgers. They're mint cookies n cream shake was CRAZY minty. It was like sucking on a Lifesavers breath mint. We took a few sips total and had to take it back to the counter for them to make a new one because we couldn't even eat our meals without the mint competing against the food. After 15 more minutes of waiting, we got the second shake which didn't have any mint flavor; also not what we wanted. Again as we were eating around 2:30, more people were coming in and couldn't immediately find a seat. We left fairly quickly with the sight of the traffic in front of us. People were literally hovering over those seated so they can grab their tables. But I know this is not usual, only during the convention weekend. Grand opening of the 100th Shake Shack today! (Tuesday August 16th) Until Sunday August 21st, all Mass locations have teamed up with Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette (chefs to Toro, Coppa, and Little Donkey) making a special "Coppa Burger": angus beef patty, provolone, griddled mortadella, cherry peppers, caramelized onions, mayo and shredded lettuce. Ohh mahhh god that first bite makes me wish this wasn't just a limited time burger GAHHH!! I did realize that the burger was missing the cherry peppers so that was odd though. Unlike the other locations, the Seaport location has two unique frozen custard concrete flavors: Strawberry CrunchCake and Seaport Salt and Malt. I got the salt and malt mainly because I prefer chocolate but I liked that 5% of the sales from that flavor go to a nonprofit community boating center. It melts fast and it fills you up so I probably could have done without it since I got a burger and fries too, but I liked the Taza chocolate bits a lot. Ordering is quick, and you're given a buzzer so waiting might take a while, took about 10 minutes for me. Decent amount of tables in this location, I would even say more than the Times Square location. My buzzer went off but I had to wait a little longer when I got to the counter, nothing too bad and also expected for the opening. The surrounding area is mostly apartments, office buildings, and a few restaurants and bars. Seaport is so up and coming that I think Shake Shack with it's simple menu will appeal to anyone in the area that's looking for a quick and easy hunger fix. read more

For a fast food burger joint, this place is a notch above average. The location itself is bright, clean, and somehow kind of swanky feeling. The staff are super friendly and efficient. I like that they have beer and wine options (even though I stuck with water). I brought my cranky three year old for lunch after a long morning at the Children's Museum. I had a Shack Burger. He had their version of chicken nuggets. We split some plain crinkle fries. The burger reminded me a little bit of an In and Out burger, which is a compliment coming from me. I didn't love the shack sauce, though - it was too thick and mayonnaise-y and there was way too much of it. I ended up scraping a bunch off. The bun was good and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. The crinkle fries were not all that crispy and not very well seasoned but my 3 year old liked them. I thought that his chicken bites were delicious- real chicken, flavorful breading, perfectly cooked - but he said they were too "spicy" ‍ I thought it was a good value, and the perfect spot for what I went in there looking for - a quick, casual bite to eat before my toddler had a complete meltdown. read more

We came here after going to the Boston Children's Museum. I love Shake Shack and this location was convenient. There was a lot of space for seating at around 5:30pm on a weekend. We got the Cheese Fries, 'Shroom Burger, Shack Stack and Hotdog. The hotdog was good and a lot bigger than I thought it would be. I still would prefer the burgers over the hotdog though. I've heard about the great burger debate over the years: In-n-Out, Whataburger, or Shake Shack. I can't fully chime in yet but I've now had two of the three with my first visit to Shack Shack. Maybe it's because I'm in the heart of a large city but the ambiance of Shack Shack was more modern than I imagined. It felt like I was eating at an updated version of what fast food would be like in 10 years. Food: Overall I really enjoyed my double ShackBurger. The beef patties tasted fresh and made to order. I really liked the little bite to the ShackSauce too. I thought the closed back end of the bun was a cool concept too as it held all the toppings and juices in without making a mess. The crinkle fries were crispy but maybe a bit on the salty end. Still the overall meal was solid. Maybe because I'm a bit of a California homer but I still prefer In-n-Out over any quick serve burger. My burger was obviously refried as it was crispy, black and the cheese appeared old. Inedible!! The cheese for my fries had a dark yellow rubbery top, again inedible. My shake was water. Burger and fries were ice cold. Lastly it's too hot and I have absolutely NO desire to get septic dysentery from improperly handled dairy products. Perhaps the people who make and or pack the orders should be trained as to what should NOT be served to customers. I am completely disgusted and the entire order went into the trash. They are taking special precautions during COVID but I found them to be onerous and uniquely so, that I don't plan to return. During a cold wintry day you are made to order outside. Ok. But to get an order which consisted of only one shake I needed to wait for 15 minutes and had to remind the manager twice. Standing outside in a cold rain is a good way to get sick which is ironic. First time trying shake shack. For the price, the food was just meh. The bbq burger was underwhelming. All I tasted was the bbq sauce and pickles and nothing else. I asked for the shack sauce on the side because my brother ravedddd about it so I wanted to try it. But it just tasted like mayo (my friend didn't taste it in her burger at all). I love crinkly fries so that would be the only reason why I would ever come back. My friend got the bbq bacon cheese fries but they forgot the bacon (they forgot it on another lady's order too, we overheard when we went up again to make a to-go order for someone else). Upon leaving, I also ordered a concrete for dessert and it was completely melted so I ended up having to drink it, I would've been better off getting a shake. All in all, I wanted to love the food because my brother has been telling me to try it for years but unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed and felt shake shack is overhyped. I'll start off this review by stating I'm a fan of the Shake Shack franchise so I'm only writing about my experience at this specific location. First, I'll share my customer and service experience which was bad. The cashier was prompt and quickly took my order. From there it went downhill. We found a table in the back corner of the restaurant on a busy night. We had to wipe the table down because it was wet from cleaning I assume. A few minutes after we sat down we got slammed with a strong odor of weed coming from either the bathroom, customers that might have just come in from smoking up or a back door. It was so strong I looked for another table closer to the front and was lucky enough to find one just in time to hear my name being mispronounced that my order was ready. I politely corrected the worker and she could have cared less and gave me my food and I headed back to my table. Ready to overlook all of the unpleasantness up to that point, I took my burger in hand only to see a lot of burnt edges. My burger patties were burnt, and yes I could have gone back to ask for a redo, but I was too hungry to wait and we were pressed for time. If all of that wasn't enough, I went to use the bathroom and there were no paper towels to dry my hands. Just a pet peeve when that happens because if a restaurant can't maintain the front of the house, how do they maintain the back of the house? I'm all about second chances so despite this experience I will give them one more try. However, should you be thinking of visiting this particular location, be forewarned. read more

The burgers taste delicious here! I got the shackburger with fries and an oreo milkshake. The burger is unique because of their sauce and melted cheese. The medium cooked meat itself was also very flavorful. A bonus to their burgers is that there were no hormones or antibiotics added, which makes me feel slightly better about eating it. The fries are my favorite because they are crinkle-cut and were hot and crispy. The oreo milkshake was equally as delicious and was a great add on to my meal. The first time I was here they lost orders, and some guys in hard hats were complaining about being docked pay because they waited their entire lunch break just to get their food.
