I'm a fan of shake shack and I have yet to eat something I don't enjoy here. My favorite is the chicken sandwich. I liked that they are doing a west coast menu and their version of animal fries was really good alittle salty but soooo good and I liked their onions rings just wished it was crispier. Their burgers are thin and I love that they are always adding menu items even if It's for the season. Their black and white milk shake is my fave.

I am a big shake shack fan for their burgers, fries and shakes. I was nearby for lunch on Saturday and decided to stop by. I ordered at 11:30 am. There were not too many people there. I waited 30 minutes but my order was not available. I kept asking they said it will be coming soon. It came at 12:10 pm, 40 minutes after I ordered. I was disappointed. I like shake shack but won't be coming back to this location anytime soon.

it's been probably 3 years since I've gone to shake shake for a burger..last time I went was for the Dubai shake which was a let down.. in that time I think I've gotten used to better burgers like 7th street burger that this was not the experience I was expecting especially for the $ you pay. So I decided to try their new Korean burger.. nothing Korean about it.. the sauce I had to triple check if it was just forgotten or deep somewhere it existed.. the meat was truly well done, dry, not juicy.. for $13 this was like a snack.. the only plus was the woman who gave me my to order who actually smiled and told me to have a great night... in nyc this is rare

They are always busy, food is usually good. Done take out twice and both times something was wrong with my order, but it was a Sunday so don't know if that makes a difference Seating plenty but always people circling looking for seating, it'd be stressful if I were planning on eating in

Whenever I order a root beer float, all the ice cream is melted by the time I get my order. Whatever.

Yall are wrong as hell for giving me sauce in a serving size fit for an ant. Food good though.

I usually get my food to go and the employees package it well. The Cherry Blossom Shake is so delicious. The fries aren't super flavorful, but their burgers are pretty good. There's also some decent seating options here; it's a fairly affordable place for the UWS.

Honestly, I think this might be the prettiest shake shack in the city. It's spacious, clean; and has so much seating. Public restrooms are conveniently located downstairs and they're usually well kept. The service is fast with the same great eats Shake Shack is known for. We tried the seasonal banana pudding and it's not as good as Magnolia, but it's pretty decent!

I came to grab lunch here during my day at the Natural History Museum. At first I couldn't understand why no one was at the register for me to place my order and I waited there for about 10 minutes but then I realized that even though they had a register, it wasn't in use. I went to one of the iPads provided near the register to manually enter my order. I like ordering from the iPad although a little face-to-face interaction never hurt anyone. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a diet coke. The food was made and delivered quickly and it was delicious. I love shake shack and I've enjoyed the burgers and fries as well as the black and white milkshakes for a long time. I still remember the first time I tried Shake Shack in 2012. Every experience is memorable and enjoyable.

This place is ridiculously slow. As in, I've been here twice and although I've ordered for small parties (4 people) each time, it's never taken me faster than 20-30min to get my order. Staff is hardly what I'd call friendly. If you MUST order here, use the kiosks as they're faster than ordering from the often unmanned register. Also be aware that their portions are tiny. As my mom says, they're "kid-sized burgers for adult prices". We received creamsicle shake at perhaps half the cup full, even before it melted. I'd recommend eating your burgers fresh, and while there's limited seating here (even on the second floor), you can bring your food across the street to one of the many benches at the Museum of Natural History on a nice day. The burgers are decent enough but the quality and quantity has definitely gone downhill from when I enjoyed my first Shake Shack. If anything, I'd recommend the Shack Stack for a spicy burger, or the Shroom Burger. The Korean-style fries and burger are sold here for a limited time and they aren't bad either.

I'm always a fan of Shake Shack. The food is pretty reliably good. This visit was no different. The only issues at this location was some of their communication/signs. They have a giant neon sign that has an arrow pointing people to pick up orders at one counter, but I watched as they told every person who came up to the counter to do that to go to a different counter for a pickup. On top of that, they were sold out of things without anything being marked as such on any menus or signs. Outside of those frustrations, the food was good, and even though it was packed, there was still quite a bit of seating here. Definitely give the Korean chicken sandwich while it's being served. It's pretty fantastic.

We were thrilled to find two seats at the end of the bar when we arrived. As luck would have it, the two gentlemen next to us eventually left, allowing us to slide over and enjoy an even better view of the TV for the rest of the game. I started with a Tito's and club soda, but unfortunately, something seemed off--perhaps the club soda was flat. The drink just wasn't good. To their credit, the bartender took it back without hesitation and was very accommodating. I then ordered a Negroni after the woman sitting next to us highly recommended it. I don't usually drink gin, but this cocktail was absolutely delicious and changed my mind. Since we were there for several hours, we shared an order of zucchini and eggplant chips and happily snacked on them throughout the game. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, with a nice mix of ages and people enjoying the evening. We made sure to leave our bartender a generous tip since we occupied our seats for the entire game. Even though the Knicks didn't pull out a win that night, we certainly didn't leave defeated. I'd happily return for another game, cocktail, and fun evening out. And maybe even get dinner there. Little did I know there was another big room in the ack once you past the restrooms. They were having a thriving business there!

He was constantly busy zippin around but maintained a nice demeanor and made everyone feel welcome! Must orders of mine: the burger! Although small, it comes out piping hot and the fresh white onion between the bottom bun and burger is awesome because it doesn't make the bottom bun soggy and catches all the juices from the actual meat. Love subbing the fries for a Caesar salad! Standout appetizer is the fried zucchini and eggplant with tzatziki-- crispy, hot, juicy and I get it every time!

Next, our waiter accidentally put in 2 pastas instead of a burger we ordered but had that fixed immediately and took it off our tab which was a super nice surprise. Monkey Bar became one of my favorite Midtown restaurants because its modern history ran almost…read moreperfectly alongside my years in New York. I arrived in 2008 with very little, and when Graydon Carter revived the restaurant in 2009, I was beginning a rise of my own, first at a large global bank and then, to my astonishment, at one of the city's most powerful investment firms. The suits were daily, the walls were gold, and the pressure was so consuming that even success could feel like a form of attrition. After a few years, I moved to a smaller firm with Southern roots, where the culture was more humane, the work gave me greater autonomy, and I produced some of the strongest results of my career, even within an industry still governed by fear, greed, and status. Inside, the red booths, low lighting, generous spacing, and hand-painted monkey murals made lunch feel ceremonial without becoming stiff. The room was timeless and handsome, with polished service, quality food, and the subtle assurance of a place where you could be proud to bring someone important. I especially remember sitting in one of those booths with two mentors, each only a few years older than I was and therefore close enough in vintage to feel relatable, trustworthy, and genuinely within reach. One had entered my life after I left the larger firm and helped me understand an earlier chapter that had also ended abruptly and, at the time, felt deeply unfair; the other had guided me through the smaller firm where I finally found a more sustainable way to work. Over that long lunch, I introduced them, we discussed several promising ideas, and for a moment my career seemed to have reached the point where relationships, experience, and opportunity were finally converging. One of those ideas consumed an extraordinary amount of my time and energy, and I believed it might become the foundation of my next chapter. Instead, the arrangement eventually turned on me, the role I thought I had earned never materialized, and the business itself sputtered. My professional life, financial footing, and pride all collapsed just as COVID was beginning. Then Monkey Bar closed in 2020, which made the ending feel almost unnervingly complete: the restaurant, the city, and the version of myself built around New York finance all went dark at once. For years, I experienced that ending as devastating and unfair; now I can see it as wisdom delivered through an unnecessarily rough process. The restaurant's later revival by a Chicago hospitality group feels fitting because it still honors tradition and ceremony while allowing the old forms to evolve into something healthier, looser, and more current. I have not been back since that lunch, but a return now would feel like visiting the museum of my past, not reclaiming a life that asked too much, gave too little, and finally lost its hold on me. Even now, I remember Monkey Bar as a great Midtown lunch in a memorable room, surrounded by the residue of old ambitions and the gratitude of having survived them. The cocktails were sharp, the service was impeccable, and the dining room carried that glamorous old New York energy without feeling trapped by it. I remain deeply fond of the place, partly for what it was and partly for what it witnessed. Some restaurants become attached to a chapter of your life, and Monkey Bar holds mine with unusual grace.
