Duuuude... two things are unbelievable: (1) I spent $22.18 on just myself at shake shack... and (2) the double smoke shack ($10.19) is so fatty and delicious. $22.18 is a ton of money to drop at shake shack but the sandwich was so worth trying. I also got my usual chicken shack ($7.09) and fries ($3.09) so that contributed, but you gotta do what you gotta do. The double smoke shack is just so rich and flavorful and really fills you up despite being a shake shack burger (ie, a smaller burger). It was a biiiit too greasy towards the end but overall very flavorful and decently spicy. The bacon is kind of the cherry on top -- not necessary, but bacon never hurts! However, my buzzer alerted me, and my food was not ready. In addition to this, it is pretty busy so you have to wait to get a seat. They have groups sitting down, with only one person literally eating an order of fries. They should enforce some sort of sitting rules, so reduce the waiting time and crowds. I'm happy to have a Shake Shack in the neighborhood. We mostly get takeout from here but decided to try and dine in the other day. We ended up getting the food to go because it was quite busy. There are a few tables up stairs and then there is more seating downstairs. The downstairs seating is kind of weird, though. Once you get downstairs there are bathrooms. Then there is a door on the right to enter the seating area. There isn't a huge amount of space. It kind of felt weird to be eating in the basement. There's a line to use the bathroom and it's 20min deep. There's a line to sit down and the space to do so is extremely limited. Their system of self-service ordering allows patrons to stack up ten times as many orders as this kitchen can produce, leading to confusion at the front door, as the crowd trying to enter the restaurant and order intermingles with the crowd trying to figure out how it could possibly take 45min to make a burger at 2pm on a Sunday. They sold 10x as many "dine in" orders as they have seats, leading to further chaos. When I DID get called in, I elbowed through the crowd to wait ANOTHER 15min for my order. I asked about it and it arrived. I fought my way out the door, sat down to eat it, and one of the two sandwiches was missing. The hotdog was alright; I thought it was strange that they put both cucumber and pickles in it. And the fries, thankfully, were very crispy! They almost had a golden color along the edges. They were oily, but not so oily that I felt disgusted after eating them. After eating our meal, we lined up again, but this time for desserts. Haha. We ordered a red-velvet frozen custard and a crunch-stellation (supposedly represented the constellations and somehow related to the AMNH as well). Both were very rich that I found them difficult to finish after such a heavy meal. However, they were both still good. I preferred the latter though; I loved the sweet toffee bits and chocolate balls in the crunch-stellation, which gave a nice contrast to the mild vanilla custard. While eating in, I noticed the restaurant was constantly busy. Tables were cleaned promptly though. My only issue was the cashier, who seemed impatient and bored out of her mind. Luckily, there was a nice gentleman who was clearing tables who helped us snag a table. If the weather was warmer, we could have sat on the benches near the museum. We ordered the shack stack, chick'n shack, and fries. Everything was piping hot which was wonderful. The chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It was very flavorful and not overbearingly salty. Hubster loved the shack stack. The huge fried portabella on top of the meat was a nice surprise. The cheese was ooey, gooey, and melting off the burger good. French fries were fresh and crispy. The burgers were a little on the small side. Hard to find a place to sit down and eat but this burger is soooooo good! I got the Shack Burger & some crinkle fries. The burger was simple. Lettuce, tomato, cheese, patty, sauce. The patty itself was juicy. Ugh sorry California, I'm betraying you, but this was the best burger I ever put in my mouth. Absolute love in my mouth! You best believe I was trying to find one at the airport when I was heading back home to the drought lands. Exercise? I thought you said "extra fries." The crinkle fries were crispy and oh so good. I love me some deep fried carbs! But hey, it's New York, you'll walk it off anyways. My friend got the vanilla shake & it was so good! You can really taste the vanilla in it. The chocolate ice cream my other friends got was good as well. Man, now I'm regretting for not getting a dessert. But I'll be back New York. Just to put Shake Shack in my mouth one more time. What's the appeal of this place? This location was very convenient for me as I had just left the Museum of Natural History with my son and wanted a quick bite. Thankfully there was a pretty small line (the lines this place is infamous for) and it moved somewhat quickly. While the prices were very reasonable and the food was decent I can't see why anyone would wait on a long line for this food. Service was efficient but not friendly at all. There was seating but there was a line for it. Overall, if there's no line and you are nearby this is a decent stop for food on the go. Good luck trying to get a table here, better off walking to the park to sit. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

I usually love Shake Shack, but please refer to the photos attached -- my burgers were not cooked! We ordered two shack stacks and both were red on the inside. I was a bit disappointed in the quality of service that day! I would have appreciated a refund or something in return for this experience. Uncooked meat can definitely make a customer sick. I never asked for bloody, or rare, as I did not expect these to be options in the fast food arena. Fortunately, I survived my undercooked burger! read more
