The lunch buffet was great and the food was just how I remembered it. There was a nicely stocked salad bar, a great variety of pizzas, the legendary mojo potatoes, and a lot of extra things like enchiladas and pasta. The fried chicken was excellent. In addition to regular fountain drinks, they had horchata and jamaica. Service was friendly and plates were cleared promptly. My only complaint, the music was sooooo loud. read more

We come here every Cali trip. Its our go to before the day of Disneyland. We order a extra pizza and take it to the park with us . Its so good the next day! The place is pretty cool . I love i mean love the salad bar . I wish they had egg for it but besides that its bomb( my wife wants baby corn) haha ! To be fair this is truly is going to be a review with a slight tone of nostalgia. Grew up eating at one back in the Midwest. It hasn't changed since I was last at one as in my 20s. The buffet is the true star of this place. Who doesn't love their Mojo's? (Sliced potatoes with skins and fried). One of the better fried chickens out there. Juicey and great flavor to the skin. Pizza is pretty good. Nice sauce and a good amount of toppings. A great thin crush pizza. That has that nice crunch to the crust. This was a staple in the Philippines when I lived there in the late 1970s to the mid 1980s. I have to say that the ambience is pretty typical of pizza pubs. The service was fine. The pizza and mojos were not bad, but the fried chicken took me by surprise. It was much better than an expected and the best tasting dish on the menu. Just came here for the all you can eat lunch buffet. It was 3 adults, and 4 children. I've came here with my kids before but my cousins and nieces haven't been here. We came in around 11:30am and it was already busy. There was a line at the register but moved quickly enough. When it was our turn, I told the cashier we'd like the buffet for 3 adults and 3 children. I was in line with 1 cousin and 2 children while the others went to find tables. The cashier was kind enough to ask if my one year old was included in the 3 children because I don't need to pay for her. I appreciated her mindfulness. We got our plates and got to the table then started our lunch. The pizzas were coming nonstop. So hot and fresh. The thin crust was so crispy. I only saw 1 thicker crust pizza come out in the hour and a half we were there and that was good too. I appreciated the roasted chicken option. It was really good. My niece really loved the garlic bread and cinnamon bread bites. There's also a small arcade in the back that draw a lot of attention from the children. Big screen TVs throughout the whole restaurant has sports games playing. The food isn't the biggest or best caliber but unlimited pizza and chicken for $15 for adults and $9 for children 10 and under us a big win for me. All 7 of us left full and happy. Yes, I want to shake his last week on Sunday with my family we went inside and sat all the way in the back on the right hand side, and there was this lady cleaning the table was Anna She was super friendly, and she was on top of everything. We came here to enjoy a family lunch, per my daughter's request, today. The buffet is from 11-2. We got here at 1, and they were still bringing out fresh food. My tip would be to wait for the fresh foods, because they bring them out frequently, and it tastes SO much better. Their just-brought-out pizza and chicken were SO good! I was visiting my sister and we had a big sister day and realized we hadn't planned dinner, and we realized that there are still Shakey's in CA so we had to go! We were hesitant because we were worried it might not be as good as we remember from growing up going to the one in Downers Grove, IL, but we were pleasantly surprised at how it brought us right back to our wonderful childhood memories! We were impressed at the freshness and perfect temperature of our food. I was excited about the PCM for One deal (only $13.99) where you get a small thin crust pizza with one topping (YUM- just like I remember it!!!), two pieces of chicken (surprisingly yummy), and the potatoes I think they call Mojos. (I don't remember these growing up.) They had comfortable booths, plenty of seating and classic signs. It was so comforting. My sister got a pan pizza which was also just as she remembered, and got a beer that was nice and cold too. We were really impressed by the sweetness and excellent service we received from Tupou P- she was truly lovely and we appreciated her! I stopped by for Bunch-a-Lunch with my mom before our Disney day and had a good experience. When we walked in at around 12pm the place was so busy but we found a table very quickly. They seem to be used to the lunch time rush so tables were quickly cleaned, customers were helped at the registers to keep the line down, and food was constantly being brought out. The food and service were great, the only thing that I couldn't give 5 stars for was cross contamination on the buffet line. I don't eat any meat so I stick to cheese pizza. I noticed when they bring out fresh pizzas they stack remaining slices on the new pizzas and they use the same spatulas. If anyone has a vegetarian diet this can deter them from wanting to return since majority of the pizzas contain meats. The other foods on the line didn't seem to have this issue. read more

I was extremely impressed with this location the employees and their manager Odet. We had a group of 10 that came to enjoy the food and fifa World Cup games and our experience was amazing. All employees were super kind, very helpful and friendly. The pizza, salad and mojos were hot, fresh and delicious. The environment was very lively and fun. While we were enjoying our food Jacob, the manager, came and offered to take our plates and gave us clean plates. He also put in some fresh garlic bread for us.
