We come here every Cali trip. Its our go to before the day of Disneyland. We order a extra pizza and take it to the park with us . Its so good the next day! The place is pretty cool . I love i mean love the salad bar . I wish they had egg for it but besides that its bomb( my wife wants baby corn) haha ! Brought the fathers in the family for father's day to shakey's yesterday. Our first plan did not play out as intended. We usually come for the buffet but that had been over for the day. We ordered a two pizza PCM package which includes two large one topping pizzas (pepperoni and made one a meatzza), 16 pieces of chicken, and two sides of mojo. I added a medium pizza for $10 and made it a pepperoni and pineapple. Food was more than we could finish and we were a party of 9. Service was pretty good. They brought out plates to the table. The employee had asked what kind of dressing/sauce at the counter and I asked for ranch and they brought out a dish with several ranch cups to the table. Restaurant was pretty full and lively. This was a staple in the Philippines when I lived there in the late 1970s to the mid 1980s. I have to say that the ambience is pretty typical of pizza pubs. The service was fine. The pizza and mojos were not bad, but the fried chicken took me by surprise. It was much better than an expected and the best tasting dish on the menu. Just came here for the all you can eat lunch buffet. It was 3 adults, and 4 children. I've came here with my kids before but my cousins and nieces haven't been here. We came in around 11:30am and it was already busy. There was a line at the register but moved quickly enough. When it was our turn, I told the cashier we'd like the buffet for 3 adults and 3 children. I was in line with 1 cousin and 2 children while the others went to find tables. The cashier was kind enough to ask if my one year old was included in the 3 children because I don't need to pay for her. I appreciated her mindfulness. We got our plates and got to the table then started our lunch. The pizzas were coming nonstop. So hot and fresh. The thin crust was so crispy. I only saw 1 thicker crust pizza come out in the hour and a half we were there and that was good too. I appreciated the roasted chicken option. It was really good. My niece really loved the garlic bread and cinnamon bread bites. There's also a small arcade in the back that draw a lot of attention from the children. Big screen TVs throughout the whole restaurant has sports games playing. The food isn't the biggest or best caliber but unlimited pizza and chicken for $15 for adults and $9 for children 10 and under us a big win for me. All 7 of us left full and happy. While we were enjoying our food Jacob, the manager, came and offered to take our plates and gave us clean plates. He also put in some fresh garlic bread for us. I was visiting my sister and we had a big sister day and realized we hadn't planned dinner, and we realized that there are still Shakey's in CA so we had to go! We were hesitant because we were worried it might not be as good as we remember from growing up going to the one in Downers Grove, IL, but we were pleasantly surprised at how it brought us right back to our wonderful childhood memories! We were impressed at the freshness and perfect temperature of our food. I was excited about the PCM for One deal (only $13.99) where you get a small thin crust pizza with one topping (YUM- just like I remember it!!!), two pieces of chicken (surprisingly yummy), and the potatoes I think they call Mojos. (I don't remember these growing up.) They had comfortable booths, plenty of seating and classic signs. It was so comforting. My sister got a pan pizza which was also just as she remembered, and got a beer that was nice and cold too. We were really impressed by the sweetness and excellent service we received from Tupou P- she was truly lovely and we appreciated her! Once again Shakey's has failed to have my complete order ready at the pickup time that they gave. I arrived to pick up my usual pizza and 10 piece brownies and once again the brownies were not ready with the pizza, the cashier acknowledged that the brownies had not been prepared and would be out soon, I waited over 10 minutes beyond the pickup time they sent me before I spoke to a manager about the issue. She seemed concerned and graciously doubled my order of brownies as a gesture of my patience, but they were still frozen solid and now my pizza was no longer hot. Please schedule more employees to start before the 5pm rush and make sure that when someone is filling the order, the order is complete before the pickup time. I feel like this review won't be taken seriously but I needed to vent my frustration over this constant problem. read more

We don't have a Shakey's Pizza in Hawaii so whenever we're in LA I try to make it there. The place is always packed depending on the time that you arrive. Food is what it is for all you can eat pizza and salad buffet. The Mojo's could be better, but then again they changed the recipe several years back. From a chicken perspective you were limited to one chicken breast and you have to ask for them. Here you will find plenty of drumsticks and thighs if that's what you're into. You will need to go early as this place gets full of big backs that feast like piranhas in the Amazon. The people there are helpful, but they work really hard trying to keep the big backs happy. read more

I want to give 5 stars to your associate named David. He offered great customer service, anticipated our needs, and offered assistance several times during our visit. He was very sweet, was very attentive to every guest he interacted with and followed up. I find this very refreshing and appreciated all that he did. I was told he is a new hire and I hope others follow suit. The lower overall star rating was because I found the salad bar felt left unattended. We were there for over two hours and I didn't see anyone tend to freshen or clean up the salad bar. There were very welted spinach that shouldn't have been served and food fallen in other containers. The tables around us were clean and cleared right away, which was great, but I was concerned that when the front cashier area was filling pitchers of beer, it was overflowing and spilling onto the ground. That made me feel uneasy of slip hazards and sanitary reasons. First time at Shakey's Pizza Parlor and I love it. We had one in my hometown when I was a little kid but I don't remember ever going. Today we ordered a small Ultimate Meet Pizza with thin crust ($14.29), a Individual Pizza with green peppers and black olives on thin crust ($8.69), Half Order of Mojo Potatoes ($3.99) and 1/4 loaf Garlic Cheese Bread ($3.99). The crust is crisp and tasty, great tasting sauce and the toppings are generous. My only critique is that there are too much toppings on the Ultimate Meat pizza but you can take some off. The Mojo Potatoes are slices of potatoes, seasoned and crisp...they are so good. The Garlic Bread is made on French breast and also really good. The staff here is friendly and helpful. The dining room is inside only with televisions playing sports programming around the dining room. There is a game room in the back of the restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring you food to the table when it's ready. Soft drinks are self serve. I've wanted to visit Shakey's on previous trips but this was our first time taking the opportunity. Definitely on our list to visit again on future visits to California. read more
