Last year in November, I got engaged. I walked in here for a resizing and the woman assisting me suggested otherwise and to come in after she had said Yes to get it perfect for her. She'd even clean the ring quickly. Great idea, she gave me her card and talked about their products and I enjoyed. It was Tuesday, told her I was asking Thursday, she said come back over the weekend to get it fitted for her! Proposal was great, we're all giddy and happy and walk into Shane Co to be completely shot down and told I heard wrong. The woman who had helped me was assisting someone else, we made eye contact for a moment, but the main Manager said again they will not be doing any services and to "maybe come back in January". I understand impacted times in the Holiday season but this was plainly poor service. Could've owned up to the mistake, tried to work with me about a different time table, or a matter of other things rather than simply telling me I was wrong and they won't help right after getting engaged! (They don't sell lab grown in Shane Co. but they told us the difference) Since it was our first time visiting, John Paul transferred us to his fellow coworker Jason, who further educated us more, made a fun game out of this experience, and definitely took the time until we found the diamond I loved. We had some really GREAT conversations with Jason! We really felt like, "Now we have a friend in a diamond business." Also, I was in today to have my studs inspected and cleaned and to buy "push on-screw off" backs for them. I also brought in a piece of antique jewelry to have it engraved. We came in one week ago to pick out engagement ring/bands and my girlfriends wedding ring. We were helped by Joumana who went above and beyond for us. She was so helpful with sizing and types of rings that we decided to purchase the same day. Everything was great initially. She told us we would pickup my girlfriends engagement ring and wedding at a later date and that I would be able to bring my wedding band home. We noticed on the car ride home that there was a large scuff on the wedding band and scratches. We called the store and they said no problem, bring it in. Joumana was there when we came back and she had no issues with us returning it. It was another Male staff member who seemed to be a manager or supervisor who started to use the most condescending tone with us. He had said they were out of size and would order from another store but it would make little difference because regardless it would be scuffed/scratched. He went on to lecture us that yellow gold is easily scuffed and that I would be damaging it in daily use. We explained that is true but we would rather damage it ourselves versus someone before us. He went on to ask if the reason we were returning the ring was due to psychological reasons. I thought this was completely unprofessional and irrelevant. He finished the conversation with "we can get you another ring from another store but it will be from their counter and don't expect it to be brand new as if no one has touched it before." We became extremely uncomfortable and instantly regretted making our purchase here. We have held our complaints to ourselves as her rings were being worked on. Today we picked up our rings and unfortunately we will no longer be going to this location for future purchases/maintenance or recommending this location to family/friends. Our rings hostage and our wedding on May 24th, OMG. What to do? Then we got the magic call in March from Teresa Bello, location manager. She offered before we could ask what the call was about to ship FedEx overnight insured FREE. Bammm ! ! ! We got our rings. We couldn't be happier. It was like Christmas morning ripping into the envelope to see our :Forever: treasure. When we went in to see if it could be resized down Greg let us know that the ring would become slightly oval because it was originally was a size ten then went down to a 7. Greg gave us 3 great options when we told him we would need to get the ring sized down again. We ultimately decided to have the ring recasted in my size. I was so happy that was even an option and to make our experience better Shane Co. even allowed me to keep the other ring while I waited for the recasting to be made. I recommend Shane Co to anyone looking to buy jewelry. Me and my wife have bought several pieces of jewelry from them at this point and experience every time has been top notch. The sales people in the shop are not pushy at all, don't rush you, let you browse and take your time making the right selection. Their sales people dont get commission per sale so they have no reason to be pushy. They have an excellent service package where you can take your jewelry to them for cleaning, inspection and basic servicing for free as frequently as you would like. My wife gets her jewelry serviced there almost every 2 months. Its part of their great warranty program where if they are able to inspect and service your jewelry at least once every 6 months, then they cover for any damage or stones/gems that may fall out. If you go there, ask for Eindra as a sales person. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, and goes out of her way to help the customers. The last time we were there, she stayed half an hour past her shift's end time so that she can close out the transaction and answer any questions we had. My wedding was 11/18/2018. I found my husbands wedding band when I was extremely desperate, after I was notified by Zales that the "in stock" band I bought 11/1 would possibly not arrive in time. Long story short I'm so happy that ring didn't work out. I took my Dad with me to see this wedding band in person and I instantly knew it was the one. The white gold makes the diamonds look like they are floating. The rose gold is not as pink in person thankfully. The clarity of the diamonds is impressive. I purchased and had it sized for his 12.5 size finger on the spot. I was able to pick it back up within a hour. Great buying experience. She's very welcoming and approachable, funny and helpful. She's extremely efficient and knowledgeable in answering questions. She gives you space to look at your options while providing excellent recommendations as necessary without being the least bit pushy or overbearing. I ended up picking my wedding band based on a recommendation she pulled after she observed a few bands I had tried on and listening to feedback. I sent a private message through their website twice however no response We came in casually to look at the new store and selection of engagement rings. "Just looking" as I had mentioned to one of the sales associate. She said, "ok no problem." After a couple of minutes she came to us again and said "Robert can help you." I understand it's sales and they are trying their best but please don't be pushy when we said "just looking." We were looking around and Robert was very nice but it ended up getting out of hand. Robert was very pushy, we specifically said just looking. To appease him we decided to size my finger. Robert seemed insistent on having a private conversation with my boyfriend right in front of me. He said to him, "hey, can I talk to you over here for a second?" My boyfriend said "no thank you." Robert responded with ok, you don't want to talk, I get it" I felt uncomfortable and we left. I found this approach to be both unprofessional and tacky, as it made me question the integrity of the customer service at your store. I believe in an environment where customers feel respected and valued, such incidents can negatively impact a customer's perception of the store and its staff. Ive been debating on writing a review since it was a couple of weeks ago but I figured my experience may help someone else decide on whether they visit Shane or not. I went it a couple of weeks ago to get my jewelry cleaned and checked on, i had one shane ring and two personal pieces the lady who assisted me offered to clean while I waited. All was fine and well until I overheard another employee dragging someone's name through the mud and being quite mean behind whoever's back. The employee in question was a tall man in glasses. I told the woman who was helping me after she returned and apparently that is a regular thing that happens with that person. I dont fully recall the things that were said but all I remember thinking is "damn this man hates whoever they are talking about". In my Opinion someone like that doesn't belong in a high end business with that sort of attitude and disregard of respect. I will be taking my pieces to another location from now on to avoid being put in a uncomfortable situation like that again. From reading the other reviews I wouldn't be surprised if all the negative ones pointed to that specific individual. read more
