I love boba in general, but sharetea is always my goto! I personally usually get the honey green milk tea with boba.

I'm not a boba fanatic so please don't think this review is worth reading any further if you get boba all the time and know your stuff. I had their ice blended coffee with ice cream and it was perfect. Not too bitter or sweet and not watery even at 80% sweetness. If you don't like boba but go there with your friends and don't want to be the only one not getting a drink, give that one a try. read more

As soon as I tried my drink, I was like darn now I'ma have to crave this place all the time lol I really loved my Hokkaido Milk tea (80% less sugar with little ice). This drink was delicious, a caramel toffee. I also tried the Okinawa milk tea which was a toasted brown sugar but it wasn't as good was the Hokkaido. It was so refreshing going somewhere with a tolerable line especially after coming from Omomo. I wish Sharetea had indoor seating which is doesn't. It does have the University Park outside seating. I also wish they had softer honey boba but overall it was still good. read more

Now that I've been to the shop around 10 times, I realize that I'm not a fan of certain drinks, such as the okinowa milk tea. However, perhaps you'll love it, it's just personal preference. Also, take this with a grain of salt, but I feel like the tapioca/boba here has gotten more chewy compared to the summer. It's becoming similar to the texture of Cha's boba, if you're familiar with that. I personally prefer a less chewy texture so that the two components (tea and boba) compliment each other better. Otherwise, if I'm still chewing on the boba looongg after I finish my sip, it feels like I'm having the tea and boba separately. With that being said, I stopped getting the boba with my drinks and switched to herbal jelly instead. Also, new discovery: I love their oolong milk tea! read more

This is a new place at UTC. Thank god they opened! I never really liked Cha but it was like the only boba in walking distance to UCI. My favorite drink is Hokkaido Milk tea (80% sugar, they won't reduce more, otherwise you won't taste the syrup, little ice) I come here every day between classes lol. One thing I probably don't like though is their stamp cards system. You have to get like 10 drinks before you can get a prize.. Normally, they have the "fifth-seventh drink is free" thing. I was excited to see a new boba place opening up in the UTC! Sharetea is located behind/between Trader Joe's and Tender Greens. It may seem a little off-putting if there's a super long line, but take note that the line starts at the door, not inside. I think this is because they don't have a ton of room inside. The location is okay. It's clean and the workers are nice but it's also super small with no seating inside. However, there is plenty of UTC seating outside and if you're there to get some work done the Irvine Company also offers free wifi, though obviously you won't find any plugs. The drinks themselves are very much on point, though I've only tried a few. I've heard great things about their matcha, although I did not long the oolong. I like that you're able to adjust the sweetness and ice level. My go-to is the honey green milk tea with less sweetness and ice. The size of the drinks is also pretty good, and prices are comparable to most boba places, though definitely cheaper than Cha's. I don't like their boba. At all. I've tried it a few times and each time the boba was really hard and not a good kind of chewy. It also tasted a little bland. The texture was all wrong and it threw me off. I noticed the boba is literally in a container right next to the register with nothing keeping it warm or anything. I think it's just not as fresh and doesn't stay fresh as long as other places because of this, and the people who have enjoyed the boba have gotten it right after a new batch has been made. This makes me sad because while I love the tea/drinks, I did say I was excited for a new boba place to be opening up. It feels wrong to get a milk tea without the boba, which is why I haven't come here as much as I'd have liked. read more

Customer service is always nice and they are pretty quick in making the drinks. Best sharetea ever! Their customer service and management is top notch. Me and my boyfriend have become regulars and let me tell you I've never seen better management or service like this. We get excited to get our daily teas everything I've tried so far has been delicious (black milk tea, Thai, coffee milk tea, honey, classic coffee, and many others). I personally don't like it sweet so I get the least % of sweetness (can adjust sweetness). The wait time is really quick even if theres a long line so don't worry. So happy they opened this location conveniently at UTC! Staff are very friendly. This female worker helped me decide on a drink and informed me of the different sweeteners. I don't know her name, but shout out to you! I really appreciated that so I decided to go with the Black Milk Tea with pearls (less ice, less pearls, normal sweetened). The line moves pretty fast so you won't be spending more than 10 minutes here. Located next to Pete's Coffee/Tender Greens/ Trader Joe's in the University Town Center plaza. Plenty of parking but gets busy depending on the time of day. They also accept mobile pay and don't forget to bring your stamp card or start a new one! read more

Was looking forward to trying this place because everyone said it was better than Cha. Just tried it and was utterly disappointed. The "honey" tea isn't sweet at all, and the "fresh" milk is just bland. The boba was warm but hard and chewy compared to other ones I've had. There was a long wait and the wait room is all standing. The floor was sticky after employees didn't sweep up a spilled tea well. Would much rather wait in line for Cha than here. PS: The Boba is called "pearls" so if you want boba watch out for that. read more

It's a tea place. It's located in University Center on the same side as the Trader Joe's. The digital menu is put out of the line of sight of the entrance, or the window shade was down on one window so it was not visible without walking inside in front of the cash register. While there was no line when I went I would have had no information for making a decision if the line was any longer. They have one entrance and a rope that divides the line. Too bad there isn't more than one door. Anyway, I made a decision as fast as I could to avoid blocking traffic and waited for my drink. There were a lot of people ahead of me. The sweetness and ice were customizable to my preference as well and the taste was to my expectations based on the specifications. They accepted cash. While there was no internal seating there was some outside so one can sit down at the PokéStop or the gym next to the fountain to consume one's drink. People actively waiting for their drinks were standing around. read more

Came here on a weekend, so there was a crowd but it shouldn't take that long. Also friend requested it. It was a nice boba shop simple. I like the step by step cutomization of the menu items. I ordered matcha fresh milk tea but half sweet. We waited for our drink and we saw the line get longer. Ok this place must be really good. No one in my group was getting their bobas. A bunch of people after us were getting their bobas. My friend just ordered a regular milk tea and about 6 orders were filled but not his. I grabbed everyone's receipts and went to the counter to have them check on our orders. We were waiting there for almost 20 min. Apparently their machine didn't print out the ticket . Thanks to the manager that day for checking up on that. We finally got our bobas. Boba review: the texture of the boba itself that day was heading towards almost over cooked. And the tea that I ordered half sweet was really sweet. And a little too much milk. Overall very meh. May try again, we'll see. read more

It was my first time trying Sharetea and I was thoroughly impressed! I appreciate all the precautions this restaurant was taking such as: masks required for employees & customers, all employees wore gloves, the store isn't set up to walk in and order (there's someone who takes your order at the entrance), the pin pad & touch screen got wiped down after each customer, and social distancing is required. I ordered a strawberry green tea with boba 80% sweet and I absolutely loved it! I'm so sad I haven't tried this place earlier, but it was very well worth it. Most drinks for that size cost upwards of $5 not including any additional add ins. Can't wait to come back again soon! read more

Great tea selection with unique flavors. I got the ginger tea and love how refreshing and spiced it is! My boyfriend got the Thai tea however and did not love it. I know Thai teas are different everywhere but his tasted pretty diluted and too much sweetener, although you can lower the level of this. I'm excited to go back and try other flavors! When I saw a Sharetea was opening up, I swore it was like I never left the Bay lol. The only thing that annoyed me (not the fault of the workers or anything) is that the Shareteas don't have the same point or stamp card system. You go to a Gong Cha, Almond Haus, or even Lollicup and you can use your points at any location, but it seems like the Sharetea in Irvine and the Sharetea in Cerritos all have separate systems. I ordered a Hokkaido milk tea and it's still the same good quality milk tea that is standard across Sharetea locations. Definitely order less sugar because the caramel flavor of the Hokkaido milk tea can be overwhelmingly sweet. I believe they use a non-dairy creamer, so a plus for those of you who are lactose-intolerant. The store itself doesn't really have seating indoors, so it's more of a quick in and out to get your order. I came on Saturday (when UCI is basically empty) so I can't really comment on what their service would be like on a busier day. It's located in a shopping plaza (think a miniature Spectrum) so it takes some time to park the car and walk into the center to get your boba fix. If you're a student, it's a nice addition to the area and place to get boba between classes. read more

I've been going to this Sharetea location for two years now, and I have to say hands-down it is my favorite spot in all of Irvine. I can always smell the boba being cooked when I walk in, and the staff is always extremely warm and friendly. I always like to visit this place especially because of the service, not to mention is very fast. The tea always tastes fresh, and my go-to is the Green Tea with Creama and boba. The arrival of Sharetea at UTC mixes it up. The menu at Sharetea is your standard milk tea/boba joint fare. I ended up ordering their green milk tea with pearls (ie. boba). The cup is a little bigger than other boba places. The milk tea itself was pretty good. Boba was also tasty. The service was relatively quick too.Definitely worth checking out if you're near campus. I'd say it's just as good as Cha. read more

If you're getting the ginger milk tea and you can't stand drinks that are too sweet, get it with 0% sugar. There's still a subtle sweet taste to it but at least it's not overpowering. Also while ginger is normally bitter the ginger milk tea doesn't have any hints of bitterness at all. Also happy that a Sharetea closer to home has finally opened. the winter melon mt with cream is honestly the best thing i have ever tasted. its so milky with just the right amount of sweetness that its not overpowering. - i have been to this location multiple times and the review would've been higher but today the girl at the cash register gave us a lot of attitude. She seemed to be very annoyed with us as if we didn't know how to order. after ordering a winter-melon mt with cream and boba, she asked "any adjustments?" to which we replied "no, no need, its fine just the way it is" (obviously meaning the regular amount of ice and sweetness- i guess thats too ambiguous for some people to comprehend) she got really annoyed and repeated with more attitude "soooo any adjustments???" I don't know where we weren't clear. Even if we weren't clear, it shouldn't warrant that type of response. Also, its standard with any other boba place that if someone doesn't specify (BUT we did) that no adjustments means it is regular ice and regular sweet. After, she just took our card she didn't say much else with the transaction and just flipped the register screen for the tip amount. It is just boba, so it ain't that deep but there's no need to go OUT of your way to be rude esp bc we didn't do anything wrong. Interactions like this make the business look bad and I would not want to return to this location of sharetea. read more

Their drinks are decent, but I refuse to come here anymore because they refuse to split a drink into two cups. I have two young kids who can't finish an entire drink on their own, so like any reasonable parent would do, I purchase one drink and have it split equally into two separate cups for each of my kiddos. I asked them to split a boba drink into two cups, and they said they can't accommodate that request, but can give me an extra cup so that I can do it myself. Annoying, but ok. The drink comes out completely sealed. I clumsily try to rip open the sealed top and I ask them for the extra cup, and they give me one of those tiny, flimsy water cups. I try to pour the boba drink in, but the boba itself stays at the bottom of the original cup and won't go into the second cup. I ask for a spoon to try to scoop it out, and they tell me they have no spoons! Plus this flimsy cup #2 can't even be sealed, and I now have my five year old walking around with this half-poured mess sloshing all over the place. The inability to split a drink is a deal breaker for me. Plus, I was totally turned off by their attitude. They act like you're inconveniencing them hugely if you ask for anything. I took my business to Cha, where employees are always friendly and helpful. Fyi, all the other major boba chains (Cha, Lollicup, Seven Leaves) will all happily split cups for parents, even if at a $0.25-0.50 charge, which is completely worth it for the convenience. read more
