Now that I'm back in the Bay, it's time to try all of these boba places starting with Sharetea! Wasn't feeling up to having a milk tea and asked for recommendations for a fruity drink. I find that asking employees their personal favorites or recommendations lead you to new and delicious discoveries! I got the Passion Fruit, Orange & Grapefruit Tea with less sweet and less ice and it was so perfect for the warmer-than-usual weather, thanks global warming. It was a good balance of all three of the flavors. Fruity with a bit of fruit bits and perfect sweetness, I've been getting my drinks less sweet and have found it to be super helpful as I've lost my sweet tooth. Service was friendly, helpful and fast during my stop in. Good amount of seats and tables inside as well as a patio out front for fresh air. Parking may prove to be a bit more difficult considering how busy the plaza can get. Definitely will be back to try their milk tea drinks and their other items on the menu! read more

Cute place, very limited parking. If you can find street parking near the houses, that's probably easier to get in and out quickly. Wouldn't recommend parking in the plaza next to it because the drivers are crazy! Ordered the Hokkaido milk tea because that's my usual now. It's a caramel type of milk tea but doesn't taste super sweet like the typical caramel milk tea at other places. I'd describe it as a hint of caramel, but it has a slight coconut taste too. Got regular sweetness and ice. Pricing is $4.50 and includes boba. The boba is sweet, and has a nice soft chewy ratio. Pretty good, not too watery at all and I would say they're consistent among different locations. The service is quick and I had a lose cap so they fixed it right away no problems at all. I'm so happy to have a cup of my usual Matcha Green Tea Creama. It was right on the point. Just like the first day I met her in Houston. In case you didn't know, I'm a traveling foodie. I love it when everything is consistent. I might just travel to the real Sharetea 歇腳亭 in Taiwan. A lot of Creama imitators out there just can't compare with Sharetea. I was surprised to see my order came out so fast. I don't know how busy this place could get. I was here to rest from eating spicy poke bowl next door. It took me a bit to find this place. I had to ask someone about this little parking lot can accommodate everyone on weekends. The answer was no. I also wonder how it works to be sandwiched between a bank and a doctor's office. Most of parking spaces are marked with bank use only. People have to park on the street. The strip mall owner didn't like people park in that lot. If you wonder when Sharetea will open in Sunnyvale. This looks more like a miso soup instead of black tea. It tastes worse than bottled black tea sold in the supermarket because of its bitter taste. This is a good brand in Taiwan which I go to every time when I go back to taiwan. The sharetea in the US really goes down after it stop offering multiple choices of tea leaf. This time around it had too much ice and wasn't as sweet. It all depends on who's making it. They have a new Earl Grey series. If you like that, check it out. Five stars rewards! One point per drink. Note: scan your card/ type in your phone # before paying to redeem a free drink (12 points). The most interesting drinks are probably the cremas: foam at the top with sea salt. Finally, a boba chain worth a darn. Sharetea is a chain that originated in 1992 in Taiwan, the home of bubble tea. It's only just started to gain a foothold in California, and this location in San Jose is the first chance that I've had to try them. They seem to be well-known for their creama, and I'd also heard that they offer the wonderful, sippable-through-a-normal-straw mini tapioca pearls. I decided to try both. Oolong tea creama ($4.00), with less ice and with those mini pearls (+$0.50) was my order of the day. It's a 24 oz cup, so it's priced comparably to other shops. The creama really made the drink work. It's a creamy, frothy substance that actually has some salt (in this instance) and traces of matcha. The overall drink feels smooth and creamy and the salt makes a difference, even if it's not as flavorful with the creama mixed in as it is when standalone. There are negatives, unfortunately. While the tea flavor is noticeable, it isn't very strong, even considering that the 80% sweetness (other options being 100%, 50%, 20%, 0%) may have masked it partially. Also, the mini pearls were too soft, and they formed some clumps, although the clogging of the straw was manageable if just barely. I should've realized that it was a bad sign when the cashier hollered at the kitchen to ask whether they still had mini boba (answer: 1 portion). It was probably a tad bit too old on this occasion. On a broader note, I'm puzzled by the lack of jasmine tea on the menu. That's one of my favorite tea flavors, and it's available at practically every popular bubble tea shop except for this one. Although I've been exploring oolong lately, I'll always come back to jasmine, and I'm sure others will too. I do see a couple reviews citing jasmine tea, but if it's a seasonal or hidden menu item, it's still a glaring omission that I'll have to look into next time. Jasmine tea or not, I will likely return to Sharetea again in the future. The creama is good, and hopefully my other favorite condiment (mini pearls) will be better. read more

Been a few times now, so it's safe to say that this is a solid place for boba in the area. IMO, Sharetea easily beats out the other competition in the area. Sharetea has definitely improved since opening day. I did not go when it first opened, but from what I hear, wait times for ordering drinks took up to 30 minutes. Add another 30 minutes of waiting and suddenly, this place looks pretty bad. That was when it first opened. Nowadays, it takes anywhere from 0-5 minutes to wait in line and another 3-5 for the drink to come out. So for everyone who's reading the other reviews about long lines and slow service, know that they have improved on that. All the drinks here have great flavors. When I drink tea, I am hoping to taste tea and not tea flavored water (aka watered down). Some of my favorites here are the Mango green tea Creama, the full lemon black tea (They really stick a full lemon in there) and the oolong creama. I tend to get less ice and 50% or 80% sweet so I can taste more of the tea flavor. This will be my go to place in the area. If you're in the area, go to Sharetea and NOT the Gong Cha a few blocks away on Lundy. Almost all the drinks I've tried have been really flavorful and great quality. My go-to is the ice cream black tea, which is so refreshing in any weather. The black tea flavor is relatively strong and def does NOT taste like water (unlike Gong Cha lol). The amount of ice cream in the drink is pretty decent too. When the tea and ice cream mix together, it's so on point :-) however, I can't really comment on toppings because I never get any. Even better, I always get my drink super fast. When there's no line, I literally get it within 1 minute. During peak hours, parking is really hard to find because the parking lot is so tiny. When that happens, most people either try finding parking in the plaza next to it or in the bordering residential area. read more

Niiice! -Some interior redecorating inside the store which made it brighter and more modern -No more sales tax on drinks! ABOUT TIME! Their menu looks great with options like mini pearls, pudding,ice cream topping, cream teas, non-caffeinated milk drinks and Okinawa tea. I loved that you can request different amounts of ice or levels of sweetness. This place seemed promising but the wait was over 20 minutes for two drinks! The workers moved incredibly slow and they also ran out of mini pearls right after my order. You'd think that on a busy business day like Sunday they'd plan ahead and make enough pearls for the day. I used to work at Q-Cup boba store so I know exactly the boba shop operates. I enjoy that they make their drinks fresh and shake them in alcohol mixers but I'd skip that if the wait is over 20 minutes. I tried the taro tea with mini pearls and it was superior to Quickly's (super purple and made from a powder and artificial flavoring) but inferior to Fantasia's (very distinct real taro flavor). The taro flavor at Sharetea's was a bit masked by the milk. I also tried the ice cream black tea with pudding. They didn't specify what kind of pudding it was but I'm assuming it's egg pudding. If you want great pudding try the japanese pudding at Soyful! However, the pudding here is probably second best I've had. It's pretty silky (firm pudding is so difficult to drink) and the flavor is very eggy and sweet. I thought the ice cream would make it tastier and very vanilla-ish but I didn't taste the vanilla until the end of the drink. Don't come here if you're in a rush. read more

They have a lot of choices when it comes to flavors, my tea that I got also tasted fresh and it has a very unique flavor compared to most tea places. This is my go-to milk tea place. Since I can't drink caffeine at the moment, I've become a huge fan of their homemade fresh milk taro drink. Ask to have it "more blended" if you don't like your drinks too icy. They use fresh milk and fresh taro. Sounds simple enough right? Too bad most other places mess up this drink with powdered taro flavor and mushy flavorless taro. Don't be discouraged if you see the line at the door. Unfortunately, it's not as funny as my last review on this place because I'm not going on a mad rant about it. I've been here twice since (admittedly, this was during off-peak hours) and each time my order took 10 minutes or less. Yeah, I would say that's much more acceptable. So glad they opened one closer to me! Although, be prepared to wait. It takes about an hour to receive your drink. This weekend is their grand opening which they are offering a bogo for the same drink. My favorite drink to get is the mango green tea crema. The crema here smells good, like butter. Really don't like leaving negative reviews, but yesterday (1/29/21) my sister's car got broken into and robbed right in front of the shop while we were ordering boba. After asking the manager if their security cameras would be able to pick up any footage of the area, he instead scolded me and told me to get a police to view the footage. I was not interrogating or asking to see any footage, but instead if the cameras are able to view the area. We patron your store and want to help during covid especially, but please understand your customers need mutual respect in scary stressful situations. They also didn't honor her free birthday drink. I am so glad they are in SJC now! I've been driving up to San Mateo the last year for ShareTea! I went during their soft opening the other week - although there was no line, the wait for my drinks was 30+ minutes so i decided to pass. I went back yesterday at around 6pm. No line and was in and out with 6 drinks in 5 minutes! Friendly staff and were accommodating when I asked for some of the boba "on the side" in a separate cup. They use the Five Stars loyalty program (instead of the Belly system in San Mateo). It's my go-to drink in Irvine locations of ShareTea, and I love this chain store, but I'm disappointed by the quality and taste tea here. It tastes like seaweed for some reason??? And it's super bitter??? Maybe over-roasted, I don't know. Save yourself a few bucks and don't get the oolong milk tea here. My friend got an ice cream black tea, which was pretty good (and saved this review from being a 1-star). It's sweet and creamy. They put ice in there which was a little odd, since they don't usually do that (there's already ice cream inside). I guess it depends on who's working here. The line is usually long, but I came at an off time, so I didn't have to wait so long. I ordered the matcha creama with 50% sweetness. The creama was salty and the matcha was just right. Interesting combination. Very creamy, but not smooth. The matcha was not completely dissolved in the milk tea, so I had to mix it for a while. There were plenty of tables unoccupied, so my friend and I just hung out for a while. A lady was mopping while we sat down. When she was done, there was a very rancid smell. We had to move outside because the smell made me want to puke. I have been to almost every boba place in the Bay Area and this is one of my favorite places. My favorite drink I always order here is the Hokkaido. The silky yummy toffee Carmel goodness makes me slurp the whole drink in less than 5 minutes. It's one of the only drinks besides the boba drinks I had in Taiwan that makes me want to drink the whole cup. Most other places such as Gong Cha, Tpumps, Ten Ren, etc is not comparable imo. I have also tried other drinks here and they are all so good. My husband loves their mango ice blend. We really like their fresh taro, but the bottom of the drink is hard to swallow since it's a little too pulpy. We also tried the winter melon. So refreshing. I think out of all the boba place I've been to in the Bay, this Sharetea is definitely one of the best places. Even though it's a small grab-n-go place with no place to sit and hang out and it's tucked away behind everything else, this place is definitely worth coming to. I came here one afternoon, after eating KBBQ and decided to try their Okinawa milk tea with pearls (which is in their top 10 drinks). Since I have always like my drinks to be more on the tea and less on the sweet side, I like to alter my sweetness level to either 50% or 30%. I was a little nervous when the cashier said the lowest they do for Okinawa was 80%. I hoped and prayed that it wouldn't be too sweet. Turns out, it was actually pretty good. The sweetness level was acceptable and even amongst the sweet & Okinawa flavor, I could taste the tea too! The pearls was also done right! Soft, but not too soft, and chewy. Overall, Okinawa milk tea with pearls is a really good drink I want to come here again and try their other top choices! My friends and I called for an uber to pick us up from our hotel since we were craving for some sweet drinks :) The store is kind of hidden among the plaza but the interior and decor is sweet and clean. The place is pretty compacted and seatings are limited, but the aroma of the tea fills this store makes up for everything! The people who work here are quick and attentive! Got 5 drinks within 7 minutes! A++++ I ordered their signature Peach Kiwi green tea with Aiyu jelly, Passion fruit green tea with aloe vera, Grapefruit green tea, Wintermelon fresh milk, and their Green Fresh milk tea! I have a love hate relationship with Sharetea. Some days it's great, other days, it's disgusting! After visiting Sharetea at the Palo Alto location, I felt the need to update my review. This Sharetea has a very limited menu. They don't have many of the items available in Palo Alto. They don't have white pearls (which is a fave of mine) as an option here. My favorite thing to get at Sharetea is the matcha green tea creama. When made right, it tastes delicious! But depending on the day and on who makes it, it can also taste disgusting to the point it needs to be thrown out. Another thing to note is that at this location they fill the pearls to about 1/3 of the cup. It's A LOT of pearls. The staff here is... not great. Once I came in with my hands full (holding my keys, wallet and phone), I ordered two drinks and when I got them, I asked for a bag. The person who brought me my drinks rudely told me there's a 10 cent charge. I didn't have any change and the girl saw my struggle to carry out two milk teas in addition to everything else I was holding. Stumbled upon a holiday BOGO deal! Love when that happens. I was tempted by the patriotic lemon smoothie but the red, white & blue jellies were just too wild for me. For Fourth of July weekend, my bro & I craved some boba and even though SJ is literally teeming with spots, we decided on this one. I swear the boba hype/trend will never die. Got the handmade taro with fresh milk and mango green milk tea. The mango one is a bit sweet even at half sugar. You can taste how it's a little syrupy (the green tea parts). The taro one was also at 50% sugar. Wish it was sweeter. It was also a smoothie and you could really taste the taro chunks. Would advise 100% sugar even if you normally get 50% sugar. Definitely an interesting drink and would try again. Got the qq happy family milk tea and that is just milk just with all the toppings. If you love toppings, I think this will be amazing. Will always be my go to milk tea place. Parking there is always convenient as people are constantly coming and leaving. The cashiers are nice and the workflow is quick. Often no lines and the drinks come out quickly. The teas always have a good heavy flavor to them. I recommend getting at most 50% sweetness or else it will be too sweet. The place is also fairly clean and a good area to settle down and study. When the weather is nice, there are tables to sit outside and hangout with friends! read more
