I ordered the cod n' corn chowder, Dungeness crab cakes & sautéed prawns. I shared with my teenage son;-) Chowder was rich tasting and very flavorful. Crab cakes were tasty and the prawns were drowning in a garlic butter sauce. We left full and happy. The bad. I ordered a shrimp taco. I expected large shrimp, got bay shrimp. The awesome, the shrimp was awesome, did not taste like metal and there was a lot of shrimp. The Chipotle mayo was absolutely brilliant, salsa was awesome. They will take a long time if they are busy, but it is so worth the wait. If you get to coos bay and want a great seafood experience, shark bites is the place to go. read more

Great value for money. Really enjoyed the crab patty burger and homemade fries and coleslaw. I also had a mango smoothie which was delish! While visiting Tru Furniture Co. in CoosBay today (which has some amazing furniture and apparel I might add) I asked the girl about good places to eat locally. She had suggested that Shark Bites right next door was pretty good, including fish tacos, burgers, fish and chips, and boy was she correct!! I had one of the daily fresh specials Spicy Halibut Tacos. The were extremely good and I would highly recommend to anyone. Lucky for me my wife got a burger and daughter the fish and chips which I was lucky enough to finish for both of them! Well as much as this restaurant has good food most of the time they do have a staff problem. There is no urgency to the customer at all. We are more of an inconvenience. Soooo slow. One of the best seafood restaurants in Coos County. Me and my fiancé go here WAY to much lol but it's better than you might think, its small but the atmosphere is comforting, and welcoming, along with the staff, which is AMAZING! If this was a review on the staff I would of given a 5 star, 10 out of 10 review, but this is for the whole place. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is because I feel like they need to relocate, its pretty small and they share a building with another company (A surf shop) which is pretty cool, but anyways if they had they're own building I believe they would be 10x as better as they are now. read more

I can't review their food because we actually walked out before we could even order. We were told to sit at a table by the hostess and then another server argued with the hostess to not put us there. She moved us to the bar which we did not mind. But then she ignored us for 15 minutes without bringing us water or giving us a heads up. The place was not very busy. The only thing that I could think of was that she did not want to serve us. I have never experienced this in Coos Bay since people here are usually very nice. My 5-stars are normally reserved for a "WOW" experience. While this place wasn't quite the "WOW" experience, that's not to say that I wasn't impressed. Came here with family for a quick lunch. They have a nice selective lunch special with a discount on their beer as well. I had made three selections to try their cod and BLT with avocado, with a basket of fries. They were generous proportions, and I probably could have gone without the BLT. None the less, it was all good. Our server was friendly and efficient. The seating was comfortable for both adults and children. I thought it was a little odd that it was connected to a surf store of some sort, but not a bother while we enjoyed our meals.
