Alright, so you guys want a review about this sweatshop, I got you. Let's go ahead and begin from the start of the experience step by step. I went ahead and went to the cashier to order my usual shawarma mix box.. "itll be $21.42 sir, okay great, here is my chase freedom flex card so you could charge for me for this food" "No we only take cash" "Oh that's weird, I was just here a couple weeks ago and I paid with my card no problem, I don't really carry cash" "no problem, you can just zelle us" Now as soon as I heard "either zelle or cash," I thought to myself wow I knew businesses hid income from the IRS but I never thought they'd do it this openly and confidently... whatever, do you, here is the zelle, thanks for keeping taxpayer money safe in your vault. Your order number is 51. Awesome. I am sitting and waiting, 5 minutes turned into 10 turned into 30 turned into 50. I am sitting and looking at the huge Palestinian flag they have hung up behind the counter and just thinking I can probably go free palestine and come back and my food will still not be ready. An hour and 20 minutes later, sir here is order number 51, "great" I am muttering to myself as I am ready to dive in... or so I thought. I open up my box to find nothing but chicken and not the mix like I ask. I go inside and show them my receipt and let them know I ordered a mix and I received all chicken. I swear to the allah that they have banners of up on all their walls, I was met by two children not older than my cousins take the order from me and go try to fix my issue. The little girl comes back to me and tells me "there is no problem with your food" I tell her, "no honey, I ordered a mix like my receipt says here but I got just chicken" and I swear to you, she said "yes so what's the problem" Now I am not gonna get into a debate with a child that probably has to go home and do her multiplication tables due tomorrow, so I ask her to go get an adult. Her slightly older brother comes in and I explain the situation and definitely feel heard now that I am speaking to a 5th grader and not a 4th grader. The mother comes in because at this point this is looking like "what kind of pedophilia tactic is this" to the other people right?? I mean I know their prophet was bedding a 9 year old but that's not our way. The mother then asks the situation and I tell her and she said well its a 15 minute wait time for the beef and that is why we just gave you chicken. Now I am thinking if FIFTEEN MINUTES really bothered you this much, what about the hour 20 I did wait? Why assume another 15 was gonna be my 13th reason and so you gave me the food you thought I wanted. They fix it, whatever. Here is the fixed order, "great can i get some napkins?" "no theres already some in the bag" "I understand, I'd like a couple more because i tend to be a messy eater" "No when you need more come get more" Alright.. they're just napkins whatever. I go open up my box to see a HEALTHY serving of fries, and by healthy I mean they try their best to keep you healthy because they only give you 6 fries. I eat my shawarma, and as I am leaving I see a guy who just ordered 10 minutes ago go up and ask for an update on his food and i just can't help but look and laugh. I let him know to go order an appetizer elsewhere because that optimism isn't gonna get him anywhere here. La ilah ila allah as their banner says because that's exactly what I am thinking every time i deal with their customer service.. I mean i thought eating in the middle east was unclean, but seeing the children with their bare hands and no masks go make my food just put the cherry on top for me. On August 4rth at 10:30 pm I stopped in for a quick bite, from the moment I walked in I had an uneasy feeling. But as I hadn't eaten all day from working I had to eat something. I waited in line about a half hour, the unkempt fat lady behind the counter was yelling "Next" to move the line. The reason the line wasn't moving was because the guy at later time came to find out his name ( FARES ) filthy stinky unshaved beard behind the counter was hitting on some young Asian girl telling her the whole history of the Shravana and pretending to be the king of shawarma ignoring customers. Finally it was my turn and I ordered the Beef Shawarma Sandwich and 20 minutes later I got my food and it was Chicken instead of beef. I brought it to the attention of the fat obnoxious lady behind the counter and rather then remake the sandwich, the lady started arguing about my order. As we went back and forth, I explained I paid for a Beef Sandwich and you gave me chicken, why argue? The guy behind the counter got involved and the lady told him I was crazy. Finally, they made me the correct sandwich, but only after 10 minutes of arguing. Not to my surprise, the food was as nasty as the lady's attitude. These people are in the food service business, there should have total respect for the customers because we keep the doors open. They need to learn some manners here and not treat people like garbage, the worst part is if you dare to ask for a glass of water they will yell at you as if you have committed a crime and force you into buying a bottle of water such scammers not to mention it's against health rules not to serve water as curtesy most restaurants treat customers well that is why they endure. But these people act like they are the only shawarma place in the world. Poor. character Get your heads out of your butts and learn customer service. most likely this lady comes from a Getto back round never seen money in her life and now she thinks Shes a big shot selling shawarma . If you're going to have a garbage attitude at the very least make a good product. By far the worst shawarma experience!! I ordered the 12 inch combo and 24 inch combo, when I opened the boxes I couldn't tell which is which! You would think the 24inch would be visibly bigger than a 12 inch, but they looked like the same exact amount of food!!! Both orders seemed like a 12inch... seriously what a scam! And how does a double only cost $5 more??? It does not make sense. The sandwiches were not all full with chicken. The salad cup was only half full, like why?? You're charging $15/$20!!! I would've put everything I mentioned above past me, if the place was clean. After I ordered, I went to the bathroom to wash my hands. The bathroom was disgusting, it almost felt like an abandoned bathroom at a gas station in the middle of nowhere. The bathroom was dirty with no soap, toilet paper, paper towel, and there was a big black plastic bag sitting on the toilet with a bottle in it. I felt disgusted! Inside the restaurant all the tables were clearly dirty and the glass had smudges all over it (keep in mind we got there at 6:30 and they open at 5 and the restaurant was empty. Clearly, cleaning is not part of their opening or closing duties!!!!). We decided to sit outside hoping it would be cleaner, outside was even worse! There was DIRT everywhere, spider webs, tables not wiped down. It honestly gave me abandoned place vibes and I'm not exaggerating sadly! The worst restaurant ambiance I have ever experienced! They have zero respect for their customers by not doing the bare minimum to maintain sanitation. I felt like I was about to vomit through out the experience (I'm not kidding, I almost did). I will never come back again. This place used to be one of my favorite when they sold food out of a truck, now it's a dump where they over charge for food but fail to maintain minimal sanitation standards. The talk of coal grilled shawarma had me excited for a unique flavor, but during our weekend visit, it was the standard gas stove setup. Not a big deal, just a different from what I was expecting. The food itself was good, although they went for an unconventional move--serving it on a chopped-up flour tortilla, divided into six pieces. I prefer the traditional pita or a heartier bread, so that was a bit unexpected. We got the 24' Shawarma's which were 2 sandwiches, cut up served with hot potato wedges and some veggies. One letdown was the zaytun (olives). Hoping for something with that unique middle eastern brine and saltiness, but they were just your typical canned black olives, like the ones you'd find on pizza. A bit disappointing on the flavor front. Overall, I'd rate it a respectable 4 out of 5. Visiting from AZ and decided to try Shawarma Loca after seeing the reviews online. Well, it is easy to say the place did not disappoint by no means at all. This is certainly one of the best shawarma we've had on the west coast. We tried both the chicken and beef shawarma with the different sauces they have. Both are amazing and we loved the Loca and Boom sauces. Took the recommendation from one of the guys there for a fresh fruit juice and his mix was a winner with the kids. What was nice as well is the friendliness and care presented by the team, it's becoming harder to find restaurant owners and staff that actually care and go the next step to attend to their clients. They do a great job both taste and authenticity of the shawarmas. i get both beef and chicken everytime and it is remarkable. I'm not even from Cali, but before I visit Cali I always make every effort to come to this place and eat my heart out. garlic sauce is authentic and delicious. I would come from more than a thousand miles for this place. i talked to the owner and they brought the recipe from Jordan itself. As a Syrian I'd say it is very close if not the exact replica of Jordanian Syrian and many Arab countries' shawarmas. The restaurant was not busy, but the seating options were very limited. There were only a couple of booths and a few high tables with thin metal stools, with no regular, comfortable seating available. We ended up sitting outside, where the table was cold and wet, and the seating was uncomfortable, especially the metal chairs. Because of this, we weren't able to fully enjoy our meal and left before finishing. We ordered the chicken shawarma, which was delicious, and the food itself was good. Unfortunately, the uncomfortable seating and cold setup took away from what could have been a great dining experience.
