Walking into Shenanigan's is like walking into any other Irish Pub that borders on the traditional. A large group of fun, lively active people who have come together to share a pint and a good meal. There is almost a festive feel to the place even for a mid-week dinner outing. Instead of traditional Irish music, the background music if more a natural listening mix of classics. Many of the guests were even singing along, and the staff all seemed happy if not jovial. Service, we were seated immediately, and our server was attentive and efficient. We both ordered the Rueben on Rye, and my wife asked for no cheese. This was handled efficiently, and our order was brought to our table quickly and correctly. My wife ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and ordered an unsweet iced tea with lemon. My tea was brought out as a sweet tea, and I had to send it back as with Diabetes I cannot drink sugary drinks without it negatively impacting my blood sugar. I was brought three more glasses, and finally, it was determined that somebody had added sugar to both the sweet and unsweet tea buckets. I was not offered any other drink options so ate my sandwich dry. The Reuben was a nice size, but it seemed to lack much sauerkraut and thousand island dressing as I am used to on Chicago style Reuben's. This gave the sandwich a very dry taste for me but with nothing to drink that may have made a difference. I do feel like the server was attentive and tried to help but at a minimum, I should not have been charged full price for a drink that I could not drink, did not order and was incorrect. This really hurt the overall score I could deliver for this establishment on this visit, and honestly, I think a 3 is overly generous for our experience. They have a great full menu, and I would like to try a few more of their dishes. As I mentioned, it looks like it would be a fun, lively place to eat. read more

Very solid dining experience! I came with my friends on a busy Friday night, and they managed to fit us outside. We got two orders of crack dip as an appetizer, and it came out immediately. The dip was very hearty, it was loaded with sausage and cheese. For my dinner I got the fire sirloin special. The sirloin was perfectly cooked medium, with horseradish and cheese on top. For my sides I had fries, and the most amazing sautéed spinach ever! Overall I really enjoyed this place and would definitely suggest to anyone who is adventurous. read more

Fun! This is a favorite place of our family. Great service, great tasting hot fresh authentic food. Great music. We prefer to sit at the bar as the chairs are extremely uncomfortable at the tables. my husband and I were visiting Dahlonega and we had shenanigans delivered to our cabin. My Husband had the Irish stew, and I had the shepherds pie. It was so wonderful that a couple of nights later we had it a second time. The cracked dip is exactly what it says. It's like crack! You will love it so much you will what more and more. Will Never eat there again. We put our name in the list to wait for a table. Told us it was an hour and 15 minute wait. Which was fine but when it came an hour and a half I went to check on it. They couldn't find my name and then said they had a glitch in there computer. Understandable. They told us we would be the second in line. Nope sat us down after three party's. So by the. It was a 2 hour wait when we could of ate where we really wanted to by then. You would think they would make there customer happy and sit us down quickly. Nope. On Saturday around 6:00PM I went to the host counter and ask if there was anyway for a group of 20 to be seated. The young man at the counter said he would need to talk to the manager. When he returned a short while later, he said we could be seated but it would be an hour and a half to two hours. I told him he could split the group up that was no problem. He took my number and sent the Yelp waiting text. Around 7:10 I happened to look at the Yelp text and followed the included link. The link stated the tables should be ready between 7:18 and 7:33. I went to the host counter and was told he didn't know why it gave those times but they were not correct and he wasn't sure how much longer the wait would be to be seated. About five minutes later I received a telephone call for "the manager" he said our group would not be seated. After waiting almost an hour and a half, we were turned away. They will not ever have to worry about turning me or our car club away again because we will never be going back. Plus I would encourage others not to go either if this is the way they treat guest. Went HERE thinking it was going to be a real Irish pub! Found out it was not much more than a college hang out. I ordered bangers and mash, so so disappointed being Irish I was expecting bangers and mash not sausage links and a scoop of mashed potatoes garnished with golden Dijon mustard. I thought this place had a really cute feel to it. The environment was really cozy and they had a lot of good dinner options. The manager even made sure to do rounds and introduce himself during dinner. I know it sounds basic but you NEED to try the quesadilla. Ask the staff and they'll back me on how good it is. Great service and amazing wings! Was on a trip in this nice little town and I decided to go out for some drinks on a Sunday night. Chose this pub based on Yelp reviews of course. I think the 4 star rating was accurate. Waiter was prompt and attentive. I had their wings with their "special" sauce and they really damn good! Toward the end of the night I needed some help getting home since uber and Lyft are VERY unreliable in this town. He was happy to call and help find us a way home. Great food and drinks at very reasonable prices. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the food - given that the building is rather run down. I got a salad that was fresh and had great flavor. My friend got the blackened fish and it was outstanding; with the sauce it was probably one of the best fish dishes I've tried! Their ingredients all seemed fresh and high-quality. My friend got a drink with fresh basil and lime, and all the leaves were fresh and green. And I love that they have biodegradable straws and carryout containers! Why only 4 stars? It's rather dingy inside, and had a dive bar smell to it. Whatever you do, make sure you don't leave here without ordering the broccoli. For me it came on the side of a Grilled Cod dish I ordered. However you can get your hands on it, order it !! I'm a mild fan of broccoli and never give it much thought typically speaking, but wow that was good. Good beer selection too. read more

Stopped in on the way home from a day trip to North Carolina. We were seated quickly in the bar area at a table top. Not a great spot but the cool 90s music helped get us in the mood. Ordered appetizer and entrees. Our appetizer was given to another table. Oops. Then our dinner was served. Excellent food!!! The food was fresh, well prepared and temperature perfect.
