Had a desire for a corned beef on rye yesterday and stopped in and picked up an order "to-go". Sheridan's is a beautiful lakeside wood paneled establishment featuring live music on some nights. Long bar with plenty of stool seating, a back-room and a "sun-room overlooking the lake. Nice menu with plenty od selections and friendly staff. Yes. The corned beef was excellent, served with fries. This place truly has it all! Great food, wonderful staff, and a beautiful location. Right on a lake, you can sit inside or outside to look at the water - or stay in at the bar and watch the game! When you sit at your table they serve you pretzels and dip. I had the pleasure of trying their French onion soup and Mac and cheese with chicken. Everything came out hot and quickly! We used to go to Sheridan's every Saturday. We love the waitress (Linda), great service and very humorous! The food is decent. I love the Teriyaki Steak Skewers. When we started going there a couple of years ago, food was priced very reasonably. Unfortunately, they increased the price and cut down the portion at the same time. I understand ingredients are more expensive now but raising the price and cutting down portion size at the same time is wrong. The beef skewers are noticeably smaller. Doing a double whammy is just not good business practice. And please change the vegetable offering once in a while please. We are tired of carrots and string beans as the only option, ever. We stopped going there a couple of months ago. There are better places in town. read more

So this was our first time being here in a few years. We were seated quickly and had a great view of the lake. My wife had the home-made chicken pot pie which she loved. It had large chucks of juicy white meat. I tasted it and it was very good. It only had crust on top..it would be better if it had a crust as part of the bowl. I had the Wurst platter and it looked great. The red cabbage is made in-house and had a hint of cinnamon. The potato pancakes were just average - hash browns. You get 3 kinds of sausage. One of them was good, one was okay and one was not good (was a red hotdog that didn't taste like a hot dog...mealy) overall they should just stick with a traditional frankfurter, bratwurst and maybe a Weiss wurst. I ordered a Paulaner Weiss beer and they brought me something else. Which a drank anyway. Overall service was a bit slow but okay. read more

Nice little Irish bar in the middle of a residential area. Great place for watching sports - lots of TV's with a very large bar area & a football specials menu. Excellent crispy wings, awesome quesadilla, & bar type of food (sandwiches, etc.). The service at the bar was fantastic - they always checked on you, brought extra napkins, & have good wine options. Can I tell you how many times I go to a bar & the wine selection is horrible? I appreciate that! The view for many of the tables is looking over a pond which is a nice view if you want to sit away from the bar. read more

Sheridan's is a nice local bar and restaurant that has a large following of regulars. They have a ginormous bar area with a large dining room. We sat at the bar that was surrounded with large screen tvs. The bar area was extreme clean and spotless. The bartender was awesome. She was very friendly and made sure to check in on us regularly throughout our meal. I ordered the Smokey Mountain Burger. It was a 8oz. ground Angus patty topped with smoked cheddar and frizzled onions. It was served on a brioche roll. I did opt for the French fries instead of the kettle chips. I was grilled to a nice medium-well. It was tasty- I wish it had come with a smoky bourbon sauce on top. That would have been a home run. The fries were nice and crispy. I was able to wash it down with one of there many beers that they have on tap. The one I chose was a pumpkin seasonal beer from Cape May Brewery. All in all I would definitely recommend stopping by for some good eats and a cold beverage. read more

We've been meaning to come here for quite awhile! We finally came and Sheridans did not disappoint. Great bar space, friendly bartenders, and delicious, fresh food!! We started with the pretzels which were super tasty. My husband got the chicken pot pie which looked and smelled amazing! I got the arugula beet salad and it was exactly what I hoped for! A small restaurant in a small town, kind of explains itself. This place has some good dishes and many not so good. I'd recommend sticking to easily made meals, sandwiches, fried dishes, salads. It's mostly all just mediocre at best. I've been here on a few separate occasions and I've had very consistent service. The food comes out quickly, the waitresses and waiters are pleasant, and the beer is CHEAP. $4-$5 for a beer? Boston could never. The restaurant has a nice overlook onto a pond during the warmer months, but there's nothing here to make me go out of my way. The only reason I come back is because I'm invited out by family. The only positive comment to say was that the appetizer Parmesan calamari was absolutely delicious. Along with the portion size is on the larger side. Waited over an hour for our soups. And then an hour and half for our entrées (Mac and cheese and meatloaf). The meatloaf was not my favorite- it was listed as a house favorite ... 1/10. The Mac and cheese was also on the bland side; "just ok". Would we ever come again? Only for the bar, if that. This is more for the elderly crowd. read more

We stopped for a burger and a beer on the way home from boarding mountain creek. Staff is great about the Covid procedures. Tables are 8 to 10 feet distancing. Masks for all. Hand sanitizers everywhere. The neighbors across the street were having a knock down drag out over some snow that got shoveled on someone's property. The barkeep was very embarrassed. The food is good solid tavern bar fare. Good beers on tap. I want to make this my regular watering hole once the Covid is over. Edit: Holy cow the Ragin Cajun is both Cajun and ragin. Really ragin. We had been away for a couple of months. And last week decided, let's go to Sheridan for dinner. We ordered the shrimp pizza and the Jersey burger. I love pizza and was at first skeptical that my wife's selection would be good. It was beyond good, it was great, and delicious and we will definitely order it again. Just the right combination of ricotta cheese, plenty of shrimp, and spinach on a delicious perfect crust. I had the Jersey burger with sweet potato fries. It's been a very long time since I enjoyed a burger this much. Start with the roll, they thankfully do not go cheap here....fresh, substantial and up to the task. The burger was medium well, just right, and Taylor ham and egg on top. Indescribably delicious! It tastes 10 times better than I described it. Service was excellent. My family took me there for my birthday. It's a nice location on a lake. Table was fine and there's a nice selection of beers (particularly the Schneider Weisse). When I placed my order, the waiter didn't mention all the side options, though we did figure them out by the time he got to the end of the table. The food was alright, but nothing special. For dessert, my father was very excited to get the bread pudding, which we all ordered. But he came back five minutes later to say they didn't have any. (That should have been mentioned up front.) When my father asked about a military discount, the waiter looked bewildered. He came back to say he couldn't answer the question because the boss wasn't around. There was also a surcharge for paying with a card. Thankfully we had cash on hand. It wasn't horrible, but I doubt I'd go back. read more

Nothing special and nothing bad. Pub food served in a nice environment service is good and same for the food. Local haunt so you may need reservations on the weekend and parking could be a problem. You would be hard pressed to find a decent restaurant in Sussex County, NJ. Sheridan's is no exception. Two of us went in for appetizers and drinks this Saturday evening. The best part of the meal was the free bar pretzels you get when you sit down. After placing our order it was 30 minutes before food arrived. On our order were Nachos with Chicken and Shrimp Quesadilla. Perhaps ordering Mexican inspired food at a non-Mexican restaurant was not the best idea. The Nachos were topped with foul smelling chicken that was extremely dry and flavorless. I immediately sent it back for fear of getting sick. The shrimp quesadilla was so soggy it could only be eaten with a knife and fork. Who eats finger food with a knife &:fork? Such a shame for a place that once was one of those decent, hard pressed to find places. read more

This is a comfort food kind of place. Nothing fancy, but all the bar food basics and a bit more. The food here was pretty good, especially the mac and cheese topped with delicious spicy shrimp. The chicken pot pie was also solid (and huge!). Nice homey sort of atmosphere that borders on the divey side, with a decent selection of beers.
