This is a wonderful little place 1/2 block off the main drag of Elk Street running through Crested Butte. Much quieter than all that goes on just 1/2 block away. We had some great vegetarian food as we had a number of choices. The staff was very good at helping us with the menu. They also have an interesting assortment of beers. The Flying Horse Lager is a very good choice. A light lager imported from India. This restaurant is a value for the money. I highly recommend. read more

We did takeout and absolutely loved our dinner. Everything was flavorful, and the dumplings were amazing.

Like 12 stars for this place - otherwise we would have been stuck with pizza or something from the deep fryer in tiny Crested Butte. For those of us desperate for veggies, the home made saag tofu (you can also get chicken, paneer, etc) was a revelation - maybe the best dish I had on my week long trip through CO. The pakora were also outstanding. The momos were slightly dry - needed more fat. Huge portions, and very reasonable prices. read more

Went with great expectations, but turned out to be a very mediocre taste in food, cold soup and slow service

As a general rule, I don't give a pizza place 5*, simply because I rarely want to go back and try something else (see my rating system below). Also, to me, pizza is about the crust. If you have an amazing crust you can do anything with it, but most places have mediocre crust. The Secret Stash has awesome crust. We had a Hampton pizza with a lemon pepper crust, olive oil base, prosciutto, shaved Parmesan, band oregano. There were so many ways this pizza could go wrong, but the balance was just right. The place also has a funky atmosphere, interesting and eclectic music selection, and interesting/happy servers. I look forward to coming back on another visit to Crested Butte. My rating system is based on ***** = want to go back and try something else (or maybe order the same). **** = might go back again if there isn't someplace new to try. *** = would only go back again if friends wanted to go and no place else available. ** = would never go back. * = should be shut down. read more

Bomb.com! Lamb Curry so good! Portion is just right for average person. I ordered garlic naan too. Wow this naan is world class . I've been craving curry for a while while being in these mountain towns and damn did I make a good choice. Rice is so fluffy Im on cloud 9. My only fuss is the lamb is over cooked making it a little dry and tough. Otherwise flavorful curry. I'm a happy camper. Thank you! read more

Horrible food. The thenthuk and vindaloo both taste like tomato soup. No indian spices at all. Literally ever table in the restaurant was complaining about the food having no flavor and ordered items that were forgotten. In one case a man asked for the dal that came with his meal and the lady said most she didn't bring it because most people don't like it. Another table complained because they thought they had the wrong dish. The owner explained that it is correct and that she left some ingredients out because she didn't have them. Went to this restaurant back in February. This place is a bit too cozy: i.e. everyone could hear what the other tables are talking about. It really needs a little bit of ambiance- native Titian music, maybe. A few mountaineering pics on the walls would have added to the authenticity of the place. Food was very fresh and delicious. So bad it was (almost) comical. When a fellow diner overhears you ordering vindaloo and walks across the room to tell you how flavorless it is (how can vindaloo be flavorless?!), you know you're in for a treat. The food: The chana masala sauce literally tasted like Campbell's tomato soup, despite the server telling us she'd make it spicy for us. I tried to send it back but was told they forgot to add spice (red flag), and what they brought me back tasted like Campbell's tomato soup with Tabasco. So bad. So not Indian. A couple of the other entrees were okay (chicken tika masala and the Nepali chili). It seemed like other diners were having issues with their food (not just the vindaloo dude). The service: They were out of so many things on the menu and seemed surprised that we wanted them (decaf chai, two beer options, one wine option). Bizarre, even in the off season. The entrees were supposed to come with dahl soup, but I had to ask twice where it was. It was actually pretty tasty, but came at the very end of our meal. The service was awkward and ineffective. I know mountain town town options are limited, but this should've been so much better (and many places in town are). read more
