It was our first time trying this place, and I'm so glad we chose this specific location because I don't think the experience could've been any better! They have tons of delicious sides, a great selection of meats, and the quality was amazing--especially for the price. On top of that, our server Martin really went above and beyond to take care of us. I had actually stopped by the day before, and he even remembered me hahaha. The restaurant is a little small and it does get pretty hot inside, but the food quality and overall experience make it completely worth it. We'll definitely be back!

I'm very happy with all of my experiences at Shik Do Rak! I used to love the restaurant that was here before, Hwang So Go Jip, but unfortunately it closed quite some time ago. However, I'm very pleased that Shik Do Rak has maintained the same high quality of food and service as its former occupant. On my first visit, I came with my bestie. We ordered a few different meats, but I was especially looking forward to the brisket, and it didn't disappoint! When it comes to brisket, I prefer my meat on the softer, leaner side, which is exactly what I found here. Without us even asking, they brought out a dish of mixed onions, mushrooms, and peppers that paired perfectly with the meat. I also love that they offer fried rice, which I personally feel is hard to find at your typical KBBQ restaurant. My boyfriend joined me on my second visit and he loved this place too! We enjoyed a Sapporo alongside our meal and we loved just about every aspect of our visit. The service is excellent, they consistently check in on tables without being intrusive. The overall atmosphere is laid-back and perfect for just about any occasion. Needless to say, Shik Do Rak has gained a loyal customer, and I'll definitely be returning! Highly recommend!

It was the first time here since they opened, and our experience was great overall. This location was previously a family-owned KBBQ restaurant and is now a new location of a popular brand. We used to go to the Irvine and Garden Grove locations, but they were always busy and packed for dinner. I'm happy for this new spot closer to home. For dinner, we enjoyed a few cuts of meat as part of the 3-2 AYCE for $33.99, like the prime brisket, marinated boneless short rib, marinated finger meat, and beef belly. The unlimited banchan were all great as well. There are plenty of meat and side dish options and good price ranges. You can choose between AYCE or the combos. Lunch and dinner prices also vary. Our server, Julie, was excellent, friendly, checking in often, and helping with the grill. The dining area is fairly spacious with a secondary room towards the back. The ventilation is new, as are the furniture and decor. The music isn't too loud, and the vibes are chill. I'm looking forward to another visit soon.

For the price, this place isn't that bad. My friends and I decided to stop by this place and my friend told me that this was one of the OG rice cake paper place. The side dishes were good and I loved that the meat was cooked on a stone plate. I think the things I didn't like is that the rice cake paper was harder than other KBBQ spots that I've tried and all their marinated meats tasted slightly bizarre. It didn't have the typical sweet salty KBBQ taste but an unpleasant gingery taste. For the price I thought it was really reasonable!

I've been living close by for over 25 years. This place has always been a KBBQ spot for all of these years. Before this it was Hwang So Go Jip and before that it was an elderly couple running their restaurant. It is now modern with better ventilation and still walkable from our place. We came today on Father's day. We knew it would be busy and so did they. Upon arriving at opening it was already half full. We did have 3 different ladies asking how many on our party before finally getting a seat. We opted for the $33.99 menu. Most of what we got were the non marinated ones. Brisket is awesome BL short ribs was okay Garlic pork belly is a must order Beef belly is good Fried rice was a bit too oily Egg pot was tad deflated But honestly now, their banchan though in small quantities will win you over here. It tasted like it was freshly made today and our young lady server (who was awesome btw) brought us a small chap chae. That was super tasty. Their cucumbers are simple and refreshing and kimchi not overpowering. Upon leaving i did notice someone had potato salad, I'm hoping to come back and give that a try. Service here is probably the best here. Being a smaller restaurant, we were able to everything correct and in a timely manner. We were never short on grill items and walked out full. We did have to hail them down for water a few times. We shall be back, definitely want to try the smaller ayce menu they say on weekday only.

I absolutely love this AYCE kbbq place! They also have locations in Garden Grove and Irvine, which I haven't been to, but I really appreciate the great service and food here. On the weekends, there is a line but it moves along fairly quickly. There's a kiosk where you can add your name to the wait list. The prices here are hard to beat! On weekdays from 11:30am to 3:00pm and 10:00pm-close (11:00pm), their AYCE menu is just $25.99 and includes 16 different items. If you're looking for even more variety, they have two other AYCE options: a $33.99 menu featuring 29 items and a $54.99 menu with 34 different selections. For those who prefer not to do AYCE, they also offer combo meals serving for groups of two or four. I've had their $33.99 AYCE menu several times, and it's my favorite option. My must-order items are the Prime Brisket and Beef Belly, which are consistently tender. I also take full advantage of the unlimited Mushroom & Onion platter. I've also tried the Spicy Squid, which paired well with the beef. What makes this AYCE pretty special for me is their cold noodles in radish water kimchi broth (dongchimi guksoo). The broth is so refreshing, tangy, and light! The noodles are perfectly cooked and also pairs perfectly with the grilled meats. The service here is excellent. The staff is attentive and proactive, making sure your table is always well taken care of. They frequently check in to see if you'd like more meat, keep the side dishes replenished, and make sure your water glass is never empty. The service truly makes the AYCE experience more enjoyable. Always coming back for their amazing service, great deals, and their cold noodles!

Really enjoyed the AYCE kbbq weekday lunch special for $25.99. The meat quality is decent and the sides are great. I particularly enjoyed the savory seaweed banchan dish they have. Server is very attentive and friendly. Restaurant is clean and ventilated well.

Lil' dude and I were craving Korean BBQ, so we decided to come here for a quick lunch. Blessed by the best! we didn't have to wait long at all and were able to get a cozy small booth. The place is small but charming, cozy, and family-friendly. The staff treated us warmly, and the meats and cuts were tender and delicious. My son loved the short ribs. Our waitress checked in with us often and even helped us cut the meats, which was a nice touch. There was plenty of parking available, and the restrooms were clean and accessible. The prices are very reasonable, and it's even more affordable for kids -- children aged 5-9 can enjoy a half-price meal.

Haiku: Shik Do Rak New kid on the block Brisket is nice and tender Affordable meals. --- There's a new KBBQ joint in town, and I'm excited about it. My kid loves this place too. I've come a couple of times, and this place is solid. I usually get the AYCE menu option 3-2 (29 kinds) $33.99. It has all my favorite cuts of meat--Prime Brisket, B/L Short Rib, Finger Meat, and Marinated B/L Short Rib. My fave way to enjoy the meats is to wrap them in the rice wrapper with the pickled radish, some greens, and dip them into the salted sesame oil. It's just perfection. The sides are good and complement the meal. Service is good when it's not busy. They sometimes come around to the table and help cook your food. When business picks up, you'll most likely have to flag someone down. This place is great for big groups; there are large tables available. They have good air circulation and fans. The vent is extendable, and you can pull it down closer to the grill to suck up all the smells. Come early, it gets crowded closer to meal times.

My hubby and I decided to go back there for Friday lunch, basic AYCE $25.99, which are including beef briskets, bulgogi, pork belly, spicy porkbelly, soy marinated pork belly, chicken, mushrooms, onions, salad, rice papers, kimchi stew, bean paste stew, and rice. We were the 1st customers today. All the side dishes were soooo fresh, tasty, especially cucumber pickles....OMG! Sooo good. Brisket, bulgogi, pork belly all are sooooo tender. Our server was super attentive, friendly. We were so happy for Friday's Lunch. Last time I mentioned about the taste of kimchi stew and we both noticed kimchi stew was so rich, deep flavor, I want to give 5 stars this time. Thanks for listening to my feedback. Thank you so much. Everything was awesome. Great job! Any negative aspects. Fresh, tender, flavorful, excellent service.... We left w full stomach and a big smile, we won't need the dinner tonight....haha. so full, so happy! Love this BBQ place near our home!!!

I came to Shik Do Rak today to celebrate Father's day with my family and had a very nice meal. From the very first to the very last plate of meat, all of the meat quality was outstanding and far superior to other AYCE kbbq meats I've had. The service was excellent by all staff despite getting busy due to the weekend/Fathers day holiday. I was really happy with how attentive the servers were and how quickly our banchans were refilled upon request. In addition to ordering multiple varieties of meat, we also ordered the fried rice, steamed egg, and soybean stew and all of them tasted fantastic and could easily have been their own main dishes at a korean restaurant. If you live nearby and have a KBBQ craving, I highly recommend Shik Do Rak for the cleanliness, service, quality, and value.

First time trying this location. We got there at 11:35 on a Sunday - they open at 11:30 on Sundays. One party was seated, another party of 4 adults & 2 young children ahead of us, then two of us, we're standing at the entry for over 5 minutes without anyone greeting us. One young server was setting up a table, placing side dishes & utensils, ever so slowly. Another young server walking around to deliver menus & water to the table that already had a group sitting down. As we stood and waited, two more parties came in, crowding the entryway. One of the servers came & asked "how many people?", then another server came and asked again. My husband asked if they can seat us as it was getting crowded in the entry way & they had many empty tables. The server said they have to set up the table first before they seat us. We waited a few more minutes before we were seated & grabbed the menu ourselves from the front counter. Not a good start... and one of the reasons for this 2.5 star review. The server assumed we were going to order AYCE so when we told her we wanted to order from the specials they have posted in the front, she took some of the side dishes back: salad, sliced radish, & rice cake wrap. When my husband ordered the beef tartar bibimbap, the actress asked if he meant the hot pot bubimbap so my husbad told her the specials are posted in the front. The waitress came back and told my husband it's a lunch special & they don't have it now. It doesn't say lunch special & the other items on the 'special' menu were available at the time (it was lunch time). When questioned about the other items, an older server came over & explained they don't have the beef tartar prepared as they just opened. (Don't they prepare ahead of time before the restaurant opens??) They said they will remove the special menu posted in the front but the menu stayed posted even when we left... My husband ordered the spicy beef soup instead. I ordered the Dong-chi-mi cold noodle, which was also on the special menu (but that was available...). Their side dishes were decent but everything tended to be too sweet & too sour. Maybe the cook didn't measure the seasonings correctly? My noodle came out way before my husband's beef soup so I waited until his meal came out to start eating. The noodle was under cooked so they were stiff & stuck together. The broth was overly sweet & vinegary, with heavy taste of MSG. The older server came by to check on us so I mentioned to her the noodle was undercooked so she can just let then kitchen staff know. She wanted to check the noodles so she took my chopsticks & started to pick at the noodles. She saw clumps of noodles then she offered to remake it. I declined as I already started eating it & didn't want to wait again. She insisted so I declined 3-4 times. She came back to the table a couple of minutes later and said they are remaking the noodles so I told her not to bring it as I am already eating my noodles, undercooked or not. She repeatedly said "they're already remaking it" so I repeatedly told her not to bring it to our table & my husband told her not to bring it as we are almost done with our meal any way. She said she felt bad as the noodle was not cooked right but it was odd the way she insisted even after we repeatedly told her no. She initially inspected the noodles when I first told her about the noodles being undercooked & looked like she almost wanted to eat the noodles to confirm i was telling her the truth. That's not how are customer should be treated. In so many ways, this was a disappointing experience at this location. We went to the Garden Grove location two weeks ago & had a much better experience with the service & the taste of food. We will be going to the Garden Grove location although this one is closer to our house.

I love this place, it truly became a go to kbbq spot for me and my finance. The staff works hard and checks on you regularly. The meats are lean and delicious and the sides are just the perfect combination of pickled and sweet. Also finally a Kbbq spot that doesn't feel like a night club, it is incredibly well lit and love the wood everywhere. Highly recommend a casual kbbq spot.

I'd never been there before, so this review is all about first impressions. As we approached, the sign caught my attention: "Under New Ownership." Outside, an employee sat scrolling on his phone. It was a quiet Sunday around 3 PM, and we were the only patrons in sight. Checking Yelp beforehand had been a bit of a letdown, as their menu featured items they no longer offer. No links were available either. We ordered half a pound of pulled pork, half a pound of brisket, and four pieces of cornbread--all priced reasonably. Their tap selection turned out to be decent. The Cali Squeeze Blood Orange was a standout, and they also seemed to carry Firestone Walker products, including 805. The staff were friendly and responsive, which was refreshing. While the brisket had cooled by the time we got home, it was still tender and flavorful--just like the pulled pork. The real surprise? The chimichurri that accompanied the brisket--an unexpected and delightful touch. Overall, I'd rate the experience as average. While it's clear they've got potential, a bit more effort could turn Wholly Smokes into a go-to spot. Leaning in on those small details would really elevate the experience.

When I saw that the menu was slightly different at each one, I knew I had to come to the Artesia restaurant specifically for the ube bibingka! The Artesia store is in a rather large shopping center that has LOTS of eateries as well as a 99 Ranch Market, so parking during peak hours and weekends can become quite the hunt. The interior decor and set up is very similar in both locations. This one is also very clean and seating is spaced comfortably. Orders are placed at the counter and your food is brought to your table when it's ready. Exclusive to the Artesia location's menu are 3 different kinds of pansit, so of course I had to try the pansit bihon as well as a chicken inasal plate. For dessert I had to try the 2 varieties if bibingka that were not available in Anaheim: ube and Macapuno. My foodie friend ordered the chicken skewers plate and an original bibingka. Everything was SO good!!! My chicken inasal plate came with 2 portions of leg & thigh, java rice, a small sampling of papaya salad, and a cup of egg drop soup. Whatever they marinate the chicken in made the meat SO tender and flavorful. The pansit bihon filled an entire to go container! The glass noodles were light (compared to egg noodles) and the whole dish was seasoned perfectly. Even with sharing the pansit with my friend, I still ended up taking more than half home with me. Same for the bibingkas. I ended up sharing the bibingkas with my son later that evening. The ube one is a must try for ube lovers. The macapuno one had a generous amount of coconut "strings" in it. Both were the perfect combination of creamy, light, yet decadent and very addictive. Service was friendly and efficient. Food is made fresh when ordered and came out fairly quickly. (bibingkas are made in fresh batches throughout the day). It's safe to say that I am now a huge fan of Tony's Barbecue. A few things about this place that differ from others. There are NO REFILLS for drinks other than water. Get a fountain drink because it's 32 oz and will last you most of the time. Their ice cream was no dairy, so watered down. Other than that, I'd definitely come back again. For $23.99, that's a deal you can't pass up!

Matiki Island BBQ on Lincoln in Anaheim is the kind of place that makes a family dinner feel easy…read more We went for the island BBQ plate energy, and it delivered. The beef ribs were really good, big and properly cooked, the kind of meat you actually talk about on the way home. The galbi was right there with them, savory and satisfying, and between the two we were set. The kids loved the spam musubi. That alone would have made the stop worth it for us. Spam musubi is one of those things that either works for kids or turns into a negotiation, and here there was no negotiation. They were happy, which meant the adults got to eat in peace for a minute. Dessert sealed it. They have a version of Dole Whip that tastes just like Disneyland. I am not being cute about that. Same soft, cold, pineapple hit you remember from the park, which is a wild thing to get after a plate of ribs in Anaheim. We finished full and already half-planning the next visit. One caveat: it was really smoky inside. Enough that I noticed it the whole meal. If I could give 4.5 I would, but I'm rounding up because the food was that good. Portions felt solid for a plate-lunch place, the vibe was casual and family-friendly, and nothing about the meal felt fussy. If you want Hawaiian-style BBQ with kids in tow, this is still an easy yes. Five stars.

Good food, good prices. For KBBQ, with the free appetizer bar, it's a good deal…read more Yelp needs 85 characters for some reason, so I'm just gunna leave some rambling here.

I've been avoiding coming to this place since last year when I've read a lot of bad Yelp reviews…read moreabout it - but thought we should give it chance on a less-busy middle-of-the-weekday and arrived about 5pm. It wasn't busy at all - which I was thankful, because in general, if a restaurant is busy, that usually means we don't get good service - SO I was very happy the server came and seated us right away. Our order was taken promptly and was stoked that they had an open bar for sides (buffet-style) to serve myself immediately for the salads, kimchi, sesame oil, seasoning, rice-paper (wolnamssam-yong), radish wrap (Ssam-mu), etc. - because in my experience with other KBBQ restaurants, the servers NEVER come fast enough to refill those sides for you, so I'm super relieved about this place for allowing us full control of that - without my feeling like I have to keep waving down a server. I was also excited to see additional sides offered as part of this very reasonably-priced All-You-Can-Eat! I had Miso-soup, even got Korean Seaweed Roll, Fried-Rice, fruits - Pineapple chunks, Orange slices, Jello (my fave)! They also had Mac-salad, Potato salad, also offered cooked fried chicken, baby clams, crawfish, fried wontons, edamame, eomuk (Korean fish cakes), Japchae (Korean Glass Noodle), etc. Plenty of sides also offered self-serve that you can cook on the grill, like onions, broccoli, mushrooms, etc. I was impressed with their choices at this price point! SO, my recommendation is - give this place a chance - sometimes restaurants do have bad days (as do servers and employees) which can get them a bad Yelp review). Today I appreciated that the servers were helpful and attentive. I LOVED the food: We ordered the Beef Brisket, Marinated Beef Bulgogi, Beef Belly, Pork Belly, Marinated Pork Belly - and yes, ALL included at the same price point (we went for the cheapest menu option) at $24.99 per person - so much value for that low price! Now I'm afraid to post this review because want this place for myself to be my own secret (LOL) - I loved the fact it wasn't crowded for such a huge venue - and we got served right away +++++!
