Sure there were Korean restaurants with kimbob, but having a specialized kimbob restaurant for larger orders for family dinners or parties has been very convenient and delicious. The kimbobs are sizeable and every one of the flavors were good so I don't really have a favorite persay. And they do have other stuff like dumplings, takoyaki, deokbokki, etc. I found the price to be reasonable and the staff, which appeared to be mom and pop, to be friendly and accommodating. We have been watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo on Netflix, and decided to come get some kimbap. Gangnam Kimbob is located in a small strip mall with some parking spots. There are a few seats for dining in but a lot of people get takeout or food delivery. There are many kimbap options as well as some non-kimbap dishes. Each roll is generous in portion and size, ranging from $8-12. I also added a small udon soup, which FYI has no actual udon noodle (it's just the broth). Kimbap is a dish that I can eat for days and not ever get tired of. I've tried multiple places in the west coast, east coast, and in South Korea. The kimbap here is very fresh and made to order just like my other favorite locations. Price is great for what you get, the kimbap is huge and stuffed with lots of ingredients. I tried the shrimp tempura, fishcake, and bulgogi. The bulgogi was hardest to eat simply because of how big it was. Flavor for all three were pretty good. The shrimp tempura was fresh and they didn't skimp on it. Personally didn't care for the sauce in it but I can see why they would put it in for the shrimp tempura kimbap. I think my favorite was the fish cake overall. They have catering options which is nice and other food items on their menu. This is an unassuming place located in a small strip mall type of location that offers a robust selection of kimbob and other delicious quick meals. I ordered their House Special and Spicy pork filled kimbob along with shrimp tempura. The inside of the shop has counter seats and everything is made fresh on the spot after you order. The meals look small and underwhelming except it's very filling, flavorful, and FRESH. I usually abhor having lettuce inside any of my food as it can get soggy or adds very little to no crunch/ nutritional value. I am glad they included it in my spicy ssam kimbob as it made everything taste more balanced texturally and flavor wise. It also got me full a lot quicker. I could only eat maybe 2 of the house specials and two of the spicy pork ones. So don't let the appearance of those beautifully wrapped up kimbob fool you. They are REALLY filling. They have so many different varieties of kimbap and you can't really go wrong with any! I especially like the California and eel one. The California one is kind of like a Korean California roll if you will. Each order comes with a small side of pickled radish. Each piece already has a small piece of pickled radish but it's nice to have extra on the side in case you want an extra bite of crunch! The interior is simple and set up for quick dining. There are about ten seats, mostly counter-style seating, which works well if you just want to sit down for a fast and satisfying meal. The space is clean and casual, which fits the style of the restaurant. Service was great. The staff offered helpful recommendations, and their suggestions were spot on. I definitely plan to come back and try the other kimbap options, although I might be tempted to just order the tonkotsu again. The parking at Gangnam is super rough you will likely need to risk it at the shopping mall next door which in itself is also quite packed. I took some time to review the kimbob here, it was pretty good with many different flavors but I just feel the balance was off with the size of amount of fillings and rice within. It was exciting to see a kimbob restaurant because I don't think I've ever seen one outside of the H Mart food courts. They also serve instant noodles with add-ons. We ordered the katsu, house special and bibim kimbob for takeout. They were pretty big and all the fillings were delicious. We look forward to trying more flavors. Some pieces did fall apart so it was hard to eat in the car (we couldn't wait to go home and eat) but very filling and pretty worth it for the price. I love a good kimbop and this place has a variety of it! They have happy hour specials also which is always a plus! We tried their spicy tuna but was a bit surprised to find no hint of spice in the tuna but the jalapeno inside the Kimbop. That threw me off a little. Came here on a Saturday night before a Friendsgiving, parking was tough given it's in a small plaza with a lot of other shops, but I was able to find parking one lot over (about a block). They have a small discount if you order a minimum number of rolls for catering. Very nice small shop with the option of take out or eating in at the window or kitchen-facing bar, had nice music playing. I ordered 6 different kimbop (sesame leaf, tonkatsu, special, bulgolgi, fish cake, and ssam) as well as 6 different yubu (kimchi, corn cheese, cheese, bulgolgi, shrimp/crab, and one I forgot). I imagined it was going to take a while given such a big on the spot order but the nice woman at the register joined her team in the back and made some large, loaded, super fresh, delicious kimbap in no time. It was also so beautifully presented, the small lining of pink paper makes a big difference as it showed me that they care about their products and want to make it nice for a party. I really enjoyed the ssam kimbop and I devoured the corn cheese yubu; the order stayed so fresh throughout the night. Vegetables still gave a good crunch and the seaweed didn't crumble. I would definitely come back here for future parties and just to get more of that wonderful kimbap! This is probably the most variety of kimbap I've ever seen so I appreciate the ability to try new flavors. It was a hit among all 10 of us. I have been ordering food here from time to time. I've seen some menu updates and have tried them out. Most of what I ordered were pretty good and the kimbap size was pretty big, which I'm not complaining about haha. I've brought some to my work for lunch, & share it with my colleagues and for one of their first times trying it, they said it was "really good". One of the kimbap places I recommend going for kimbap and other options, like the fish cake soup & sodduk, I love their sodduk alot, and would usually think of here if I ever think about wanting it. Service is very good, I see they always try their best in any scenario, they are always kind, not over the top, which I prefer, and are polite.
