Such a good little place for comforting Korean food. The owners are also such sweet people. It's a bit hidden in the plaza, but so worth checking out! Definitely added to my list of fav Korean spots in the area!

This little gem is tucked in the little mall, immediately to your right. It was pretty empty, and after eating there, I'm sure it won't be for too long. This place has only been open for 15 days, and the service is superb. We received what Korean culture refers to as "service," and were treated with so much hospitality. We ordered 설렁탕 (Ox Bone Soup) and 왕갈비탕 (King Beef Rib Soup). For 반찬 (side dishes) we received: 김치 (kimchi), 오이무침 (pickled cucumbers), 깍두기 (radish kimchi), 어묵볶음 (fish cake), and she brought out some fresh 우엉 조림 (soy braised burdock root) for us to try. Everything was fresh, made in house, and perfectly seasoned. At the end she blessed us with 해물 파전 (seafood pancake)... OMG, amazing! I'm from Koreatown, born and raised. Lived in Seoul. I've tried so many restaurants. This is hands down better than most places in Ktown serving the same menu. Everything was so damn good, fresh, and generous! It's so refreshing, and the vibes are down to earth and homey. No frills, clean, and well priced!!!

Had the best time dining here for lunch today! Me and my friends tried their tofu stew, seafood pancake, ox bone soup, and braised short ribs and WOW everything was SO good! The short ribs are extremely tender and the seafood pancake had the perfect crisp to it. The soups were so comforting with s, highly recommend everything we tried. Service was so so amazing and love that it's a mom & pops restaurant, will definitely be back!

This place should definitely get more recognition. I came on a slow Saturday night and was seated immediately. I ordered their pork bone soup/gamjatang, a warming and hearty stew with potatoes and mushrooms-- not really spicy but warming. Their side dishes were of good variety, and honestly I get shy to ask for more since I know some restaurants think it's too gluttonous of customers but they offered to refill which is a HUGE plus for me. Feels like a cozy, hole in the wall sort of spot so I will definitely keep coming back

My friend told me they LOVED this new restaurant so we came based on their recommendation. Honestly 10/10 and planning to come back again. Yukaejang - so good and amazing portion Green onion pancake - you have to get it, it's only around $10 and one of the best ive had in my life Kimchi and banchan - i loved it Plus its next to a sauna so you can have a day in the plaza. The owners are also amazing, im so glad this place opened.

My new favorite Korean restaurant 10/10 would absolutely survive a long shift again just to eat here. I ordered ahead "just in case" I was gonna be late... but I made it on time, which honestly feels like fate because this food deserved to be eaten ASAP and not suffer in a takeout container alone. First of all--the owners??? ANGELS. Like actual warm, welcoming human sunshine. They helped me unpack my food so I could eat there, then repacked everything for me like I was leaving a VIP lounge instead of a restaurant. I felt personally cared for in a way I was not emotionally prepared for. Now the food: - The kimchi? Offensive how good it was. - Side dishes? Generous. Respectful. Emotionally stabilizing. - Ox bone broth soup? I took one sip and immediately entered my "I am healing generational trauma" era. So rich, so hearty, so comforting I almost started texting people I had no business texting. But seriously, it was my first time trying it and so glad that it was with them that I tried it with because it did not disappoint. - Seafood pancake? Absolutely unhinged (compliment). Packed with seafood to the point it was basically falling apart like "I don't know how much longer I can hold myself together but I will try." - Dipping sauce? No notes. Paid its rent. Also the portions are actually crazy because I got a full second meal out of this. Inflation where?? Not here. Anyway, I left full but also emotionally nurtured, which is rare in this economy. If you're debating going--don't. Just go. Your future self will thank you.

A delicious hidden gem! My friends and I got a variety of different meals. The King Beef Rib Soup was incredibly hearty and delicious. My friend finished her entire Ox Bone Soup, which is impressive because she doesn't finish anything lol. The staff was kind and attentive, and provided a really comfortable atmosphere. There's a lot more on the menu that we wanted to try, so looking forward to visiting again!

Had a great experience at Palbang Seolleongtang! I ordered the seolleongtang and everything was delicious, from the clean and comforting broth to all the tasty side dishes. The owner was incredibly kind and even gave me a free iced coffee, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The coffee was delicious too! Really appreciated the warm hospitality and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a spot I'd love to come back to again.

Since it had just opened, I visited during lunchtime with three companions. I ordered the Chicken Soup (Dak Gom Tang). Among Korean restaurants, places that serve Dak Gom Tang are quite rare--and finding one that does it well is even harder--but the version here was absolutely delicious. The other menu items were also excellent, and the prices were quite reasonable.

    Korean street coffee

If you're not Korean (like me) and your only experience with Korean food is BBQ and tofu houses, I highly recommend adding Seolleongtang spots to your rotation. And this is a really great one to start with! There are a lot of soups to choose from, the dishes are all fresh and made in-house, the owners are very friendly and welcoming, and everything is clean and spacious. I had the chive pancake, which is a must. You can ask for more pancake sauce if you want. And I had the bean sprout soup, which I loved. If you're new to seolleongtang-type soups, they broth is not salted and they put a dish of sea salt on the table for you to season it to your liking. They also gave me a complimentary Korean street coffee, which was delicious. 5 out of 5 highly recommend!

New sulungtang spot opened up near me so I came to check it out! We got the sulungtang, Galbitang, & steamed dumplings. Sulungtang was super clean and delicious and the dumplings were unexpectedly huge. The owner was super sweet and she even gave us garlic cucumbers to eat with the dumplings. Side dishes were fire especially the fish cakes and the peppers! Galbitang was also good but it didn't come with glass noodles in it (which my gf always looks for) so we asked for it on the side and the owner was kind enough to give it to us for free. She also gave us a sprite oth:) super kind service and food. At the end, owner asked us for feedback since they just opened but I had no notes other than the missing noodles. Wishing the best of luck !

Sides. Left to Right. Fried Zucchini/Squash, kimchi, pickled jalapeños, sesame radish, and daikon radish.

It has been transformed…read moreinto one of the area's premier destinations for authentic Korean comfort food, embracing the traditions of slow-cooked, homestyle recipes passed down through generations. Every dish reflects a dedication to Korean culinary heritage, arriving at the table bubbling, sizzling, and steaming with irresistible aromas. Step inside and you are welcomed by the comforting scent of toasted sesame, simmering garlic, and richly fermented broths that instantly make you feel at home. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and unpretentious, capturing the feeling of gathering around a family dinner table. The menu celebrates soulful Korean classics with bold fermented flavors, slow-simmered stews, casseroles, salad wrap combinations, noodle dishes, and grilled fish, alongside shareable favorites like Korean chive pancakes, seafood pancakes, and abalone porridge. Every meal begins with one of the best complimentary spreads of banchan in town. The assortment is vibrant, tangy, spicy, and refreshingly diverse, featuring dishes that are increasingly difficult to find at many Korean restaurants. Our table included a variety of namul (seasoned vegetables), steamed eggplant, creamy Korean potato salad, japchae, and wonderfully fresh kimchi. Each side dish provided its own balance of flavor and texture while perfectly complementing both steamed rice and the main courses. **Dwaeji Bossam (Steamed Pork with Napa Cabbage) + Doenjang Jjigae (Soybean Paste Stew) Combo, plus banchan - $45.99** The bossam showcases beautifully prepared pork belly that is incredibly moist, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth rich without any unwanted pork odor. Thin slices of pork are elegantly arranged like ribbons and served alongside an impressive assortment of accompaniments: spicy julienned radish kimchi (musaengchae), sliced raw garlic, fresh jalapeños, ssamjang (sweet and savory fermented soybean chili paste), saeujeot (salted fermented shrimp), carrot and cucumber sticks, crisp green leaf lettuce, and blanched napa cabbage for wrapping. Every condiment serves a purpose. The crunchy radish kimchi cuts through the richness of the pork with bright acidity and spice. The saeujeot delivers an intensely savory burst of umami, while the ssamjang contributes a balanced combination of sweetness, heat, and fermented depth. Wrapped together inside fresh lettuce or tender napa cabbage, every bite becomes an explosion of contrasting textures and harmonious flavors. The accompanying doenjang jjigae is equally satisfying. The fermented soybean paste creates a deep, aged savoriness that is rich yet mellow, supported by anchovy stock, garlic, and just enough heat from sliced jalapeños. A slightly thickened broth envelopes silky tofu, tender zucchini, onions, and potatoes, creating one of Korean cuisine's most comforting stews. **Eun Daegu Jorim (Braised Black Cod) - $48.99** The braised black cod is another standout. Buttery, flaky pieces of fish are gently simmered in a glossy reduction that perfectly balances savory, sweet, spicy, and umami flavors. Thick chunks of radish slowly absorb the rich braising liquid until they become almost as satisfying as the fish itself. Just before serving, the dish is finished with freshly diced green onions that contribute brightness and a subtle bite to this deeply comforting classic. Service deserves special recognition. Every member of the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. My family felt immediately at ease from the moment we walked through the door. The servers anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, quietly refilling water glasses and clearing finished plates with thoughtful timing. What impressed me most was the kindness they showed my mother, treating her with genuine warmth, sincere compliments, and the type of hospitality that made us feel less like customers and more like welcomed guests in someone's home. This restaurant beautifully showcases everything that makes Korean comfort food so beloved: slow-cooked recipes made entirely from scratch, deeply flavorful stews, generous portions, exceptional banchan, and heartfelt hospitality. Between the authentic homestyle cooking, robust flavors, and caring service, it has quickly become one of the finest places in the area to experience the warmth and comfort of traditional Korean cuisine.

This location has served cold noodle soup (mulnaengmyun) all the years we have come. The most recent owner is also female, and her kitchen and front end staff are all female. By far, this serves the best cold noodle soup and thin chewy buckwheat noodles. The hot summer days certainly bring in a crowd! The side dishes or banchan change frequently, my favorites are the tomato and apple, onion and parsley plus the house made kimchi. Occasionally they have the white or non spicy kimchi which is so delicious and refreshing. We often get the combo cold noodle with beef bulgogi (thin sliced marinated beef) or kalbi (LA style short rib sliced across and marinated then grilled). Love the bossam plate :boiled pork belly served with vegetables for wrapping. Also good is the marinated chicken & veggie wraps combo. The gamjeatang or pork spare rib spicy stew if full of tender pork and stewed vegetables, that I feel is a healthy alternative to the grilled meats. The boochoo neon (I hope I spelled that correctly) or chive pancake is done so well here: tender and crispy on the edges. Great for sharing as an appetizer. They also have a barley dish that is mostly vegetarian with spicy sauce. Very glad they are open daily and until 9 pm (last call is about 830). Many families and golf buddies or business partners frequent the place. Quiet, thankfully has A/C cranked to cold most year round, so you can enjoy your meal in comfort. The manager (Joy) and servers are unfailingly quiet and priced excellent service.

Food: The soups were quite bland for our taste so we did a bit of customization with salt and pepper. Although they provided a decent amount of banchan, the proteins in their soups were pretty scarce, not worthing the $19 price tags. Their Hae Jang Guk was the only soup with the bone filled up the bowl. However, because there's no space in the small bowl, even a little nudge made its soup spilled all over my sister's body. The waitress just then gave her a bib but the damage had already been done. The Bulgogi and Katsu took the longest to come out but they were the highlights of our meal. Service: We were the only table at the time and our waitress only gave us 2 menus for a table of 6 so we had to go grab our own from other tables. She's not the friendliest and kept tossing things on our table. She also tried taking away a dipping sauce jar after I had already requested to keep it. Our water was never refilled and napkins were very skimmed out. Though she did check up on our tables, her attitude was what made us refrain from asking for help. We love to give smaller businesses a chance, but we're sad to say Jomaru is not one of them.
