The restaurant is inside a small strip mall, hidden away. You actually have to enter from the doors closest to the spa. Once inside it is located on your left. Although in an obscure location, the food and courtesy were amazing. We ordered the Ox tail beef soup, rice cake and dumping soup and LA Galbi. Soups are very elegant and flavorful. So those that can't handle spice, you may want to ask for the sauce on the side when ordering. Service: 10/10 I felt very at home! One of the owners who was serving me was very warm and was always making sure I didn't need anything. She's super easy to talk to. Very mom-like haha. This is my new favorite Korean comfort food spot. When I first arrived, I thought I was lost, but after a little searching, I found it tucked inside the building across from the spa. The service was attentive and excellent--they kept our drinks and banchan dishes constantly refilled. You can really tell the ingredients are fresh and high quality. We ordered the king beef bone soup (Galbi Tang) and the seafood pancake (Haemul Pajeon). The soup came with two huge beef ribs and a side of white rice. The meat was lean, tender, and delicious. Even better was the soup itself--it's incredibly comforting and soothing. Once you try it, you'll know exactly what I mean. As for the pancake, it was packed with tender (not chewy) squid, oysters, good-sized shrimp, and plenty of scallions. It wasn't greasy or overly cakey, and I even saw the chef mix the batter fresh to order. The portions are generous--we had to pack up both dishes because we were so full. At the end, we were also given a free drink. I'm not sure if that's standard, but it was a nice touch! This is the kind of place you go when you want a delicious, home-cooked meal without having to do the dishes. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes. read more

This little gem is tucked in the little mall, immediately to your right. It was pretty empty, and after eating there, I'm sure it won't be for too long. This place has only been open for 15 days, and the service is superb. We received what Korean culture refers to as "service," and were treated with so much hospitality. We ordered 설렁탕 (Ox Bone Soup) and 왕갈비탕 (King Beef Rib Soup). For 반찬 (side dishes) we received: 김치 (kimchi), 오이무침 (pickled cucumbers), 깍두기 (radish kimchi), 어묵볶음 (fish cake), and she brought out some fresh 우엉 조림 (soy braised burdock root) for us to try. Everything was fresh, made in house, and perfectly seasoned. At the end she blessed us with 해물 파전 (seafood pancake)... OMG, amazing! I'm from Koreatown, born and raised. Lived in Seoul. I ordered ahead "just in case" I was gonna be late... but I made it on time, which honestly feels like fate because this food deserved to be eaten ASAP and not suffer in a takeout container alone. If you're not Korean (like me) and your only experience with Korean food is BBQ and tofu houses, I highly recommend adding Seolleongtang spots to your rotation. And this is a really great one to start with! There are a lot of soups to choose from, the dishes are all fresh and made in-house, the owners are very friendly and welcoming, and everything is clean and spacious. I had the chive pancake, which is a must. You can ask for more pancake sauce if you want. And I had the bean sprout soup, which I loved. If you're new to seolleongtang-type soups, they broth is not salted and they put a dish of sea salt on the table for you to season it to your liking. They also gave me a complimentary Korean street coffee, which was delicious. 5 out of 5 highly recommend! read more

The vibes of the restaurant remind me alot of Korea from the furniture to the aged decor of the interior. The Seolleongtang is spot on. It hits the cravings just right and is reasonably priced. Side dishes were A+ imo. The bossam though...SO GOOD. It isn't overwhelming with flavor but the texture/meatiness of it just kept me going for more. The service was admittedly a bit on the slower side but it is a tiny operation. To compensate for it, the servers were constantly refilling the side dishes for us and even packed us some Togo. Good things take time and and I was perfectly satisfied with my food despite the wait. New sulungtang spot opened up near me so I came to check it out! We got the sulungtang, Galbitang, & steamed dumplings. Sulungtang was super clean and delicious and the dumplings were unexpectedly huge. The owner was super sweet and she even gave us garlic cucumbers to eat with the dumplings. Side dishes were fire especially the fish cakes and the peppers! Galbitang was also good but it didn't come with glass noodles in it (which my gf always looks for) so we asked for it on the side and the owner was kind enough to give it to us for free. She also gave us a sprite oth:) super kind service and food. At the end, owner asked us for feedback since they just opened but I had no notes other than the missing noodles. We have come twice and enjoyed both times. Service is excellent and staff are very kind. Their kimchi and gakdugi (daikon) are delish...not too spicy. Their banchan (side dishes) rotate and are also delish. So far, we've had their mandu guk (meat mandu are huge), tofu soup (choice of meat was thin sliced beef piled high) not spicy but flavorful, stone Bibimbap, and stone bulgogi bap. The food was arranged beautifully in each stone dish. The stone dish is very hot (temperature) so be careful when eating. Staff was kind and offered a service of beef broth with our stone dishes. OK so in response to S.C.'s 1 star review: Now, I am very confused and I don't understand. My daughter found this place and she and I have been going ritually 2X a week since then - And, honestly, it gets better every time and I'm appreciating their traditional and home-style cooking more and more. You'll know what I mean when you get a first bite of their kimchi. Not to mention, the owners (husband & wife duo) are just about the kindest and most generous people I have ever met as restaurant owners. You can see in how they treat us and other customers, that they are more than happy to do everything they can to make their customers feel incredibly welcomed - NO joke, go meet them, and you'll see what I mean. I've had all 3 items this 1 star review mentions. The seafood pancake, of all the ones I've had at Korean restaurants, it has the crispiest outer texture yet being moist inside - I brought leftovers home and warm them up on the pan, the next day. Most pancakes to get that crispy exterior texture, they cook it in loads of oil - enough to exude out the next day when you warm it up. THAT was not the case here. And somehow it STILL managed to keep its crispiness and moistness inside - I even asked the owner how they managed to do that? Her reply was that it took a long time to come up with that recipe. Perhaps you were mistaken moistness with raw batter?? Far as the Sul-lung-tang - Not sure how many you've had in your lifetime but there's is about the deepest flavoring I've had (and I'm 62 and Korean). And not appreciating Shiitake mushrooms in a Korean stew or any food for that matter . . . well, not sure how to even answer that. Perhaps you just don't like mushrooms - And if you don't, that's perfectly fine.
