Anytime I find myself in the area. I always have to stop here. It's a nice small café. That's all vegetarian with the most beautiful colorful foods. Anytime you find yourself passing through or stopping by. This is the place to go for a nice healthy snack.

I've eaten here once before and I got a tempeh sandwich that was pretty good. I decided to try this Tostada bowl. The base was a fried tortilla and inside wer beans, greens, rice and a delicious sauce. It was really good. Probably my fave over the sandwich. They have a lot of canned drinks to choose from, some vegan desserts. They also have fresh smoothies inside. I usually like to stop there once when I go to Morro Bay. Def give it a try.

Shine Cafe is one of those places where I wish there were more than 5 stars to give on Yelp. This vegan eatery does not make me miss eggs or cheese one bit. Everything from the two dishes we ordered were so bright and flavorful, I was genuinely shocked on how delicious the food was. The price of the food is reasonable for the portions they serve. We ordered two spring rolls and a Ruben. I'm not typically a tempe fan, but it was seasoned amazingly and added to both dishes. I can't begin to describe how awesome the food is, literally, just come eat here and find out for yourself. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They do take a bit to get food out to you when crowded, but they were also very transparent that it would take 20 to 30 minutes to get our food. I appreciated that!

So we drove from Paso Robles to Morro Bay just to have lunch at Shine and it was so good. Again, the T.L.T. (tempeh, lettuce, tomato) was great! Not sure how they prepare their tempeh but it was very flavorful. The Hummus Wrap was huge and delicious but maybe a bit light on the hummus. The red lentil Dahl soup was wonderfully balanced and good comfort food. I'll be back for sure!

Stopped in for smoothies, veggie rolls and tacos. My husband wasn't a big fan of his jackfruit tacos. My veggie rolls were massive. I really should've just got 2 instead of 3. I really liked them except the tempeh was too smokey for my liking. Smoothies were good. The person working the juice/smoothie area was super nice.

I tried the dragon fruit smoothie and it was so delicious. I want to come back just for this smoothie.

I went to Shine Cafe on Sunday and haven't stopped thinking about how delicious it is ever since! I found it after searching for vegan spots as my family are mainly plant based. The spring rolls were so delicious I wish I ordered 20 of them. The staff was incredibly kind and we found a table inside very easily. Overall can't wait to plan a trip back to Morro Bay to eat here again! So good I had to get a tote bag to remember it!

This place is super healthy and everything here is presented well. The wraps and sandwiches are great and they hold well until the very last bite. The sauces are super tasty and brings it all together. Highly recommend if you are in SLO, Paso, Cambia, etc (make the drive here).

Our most favorite restaurant in Morro Bay. The food here is fresh, vegan, colorful with delicious dressings and sauces. Visit the market, supplement store and juice bar too! Highly recommended !

The veggie wraps were huge but if you eat this then dine in. As, the rice paper wrap sticks to the paper Togo box and then you have to peel off paper from the wraps. Overall the filling in that wrap with the quinoa bean mixture was good it was like Tex mex flavoring. The Reuben with the tempeh and thinly sliced sauerkraut was great! I would order the Reuben again!

Wonderful fresh vegetarian meals , they make their own salad dressings. These gems are hard to find especially when traveling so glad I stopped in enormous portions of salads too. They have freshly cooked garbanzo beans not canned, and to show off they put goji berries on salad as well , get the cute sushi avocado rolls also good

My favorite plant-based/vegan restaurant in SLO county! Shine Cafe is the perfect spot for a casual lunch and healthy takeout food. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the food always tastes fresh. The cafe is quaint with both indoor/outdoor seating options. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you when it's ready. The Vegetable Spring rolls are HUGE and are a must-order menu item!! The seasoned tempeh has a great flavor, the carrots/red cabbage add a nice crunch, and the avocado & sesame ginger dressing are delicious. I highly recommend ordering these. I am not vegan, but I have thoroughly enjoyed all the entrees I have tried here. If you are looking for a lunch spot with nutrient dense, filling, high quality foods, Shine Cafe should be on your list! I definitely will be back to try more menu items.

100% my favorite restaurant ever. I go everytime I visit morro bay and always bring my friends along with me and I've loved everything I've tried. The black bean tostada was EVERYTHING but be warned it is MASSIVE. my friends and I had lunch here one time and went next door to the market and got vegan chocolate to eat on the beach and it was such a nice time. I got a bowl and Berry Detox smoothie, it was absolutely flavorful and I'm not even Vegan. The bowl was packed and very satisfying. The combination of the Tempeh, avocado, quinoa, red cabbage, spinach, kale, sauerkraut, nut mix, and the lemon roasted garlic was so good. How you make the bowl is up to you, and you can even customize your own burrito. The Berry Detox smoothie was so good and it helped my body digest. The food is very satisfying, but you won't feel stuffed or groggy because the food benefits your body and gives you energy. I always look forward to coming back whenever I'm in Morro Bay. We travel a lot...now that my husband is more aware of how his body feels after eating healthy he's game for vegan fare. We stumbled upon this little gem while wandering the streets of Morro Bay and we were hooked. First of all the juices are off the hook. Full Of flavor, no skimping or watering down. You instantly feel the detox in your body after sipping the green goddess. We ate here 3-4 x during our weekend trip and each one was fabulous. Hummus wrap with the added suggestion of jack fruit from our waitress was so full of flavor and totally two meals for me. The tempeh taco bowl and blt ranked way up there as well. The salad dressings are inventive and just the right touch to the side salads full of interesting greens. You can't go wrong with anything you order and the staff is friendly and helpful. I was little apprehensive trying their vegan version of a BLT called a "TLT" since I have never had Tempeh before, but it was amazing! The tempeh tasted a lot like sweet bacon and the tomatoes were perfectly vine ripened, deep and red, and with the piles of fresh greens - this sandwich was 5 stars. Service was fast and the to-go boxes were the perfect way to socially distance while watching the water in beautiful Morro Bay - highly recommend even if you're not a vegetarian! read more

This may be the best food in Morro Bay. The options are such that I often want to come back to try something else (though the black bean tostada is always a great default). I wish this was not a cafe, but a more step up to casual dining, or even a destination type restaurant. Yes, that is a hint --I suspect our community would support a good vegan restaurant, especially one which non plant based people always enjoy. We probably eat here twice per-month, and as a pastor I often find it a convenient place to meet people. Not as comfortable as some of the places on the water, but the food is far better. read more

Get a healthy drink and/or food at this delicious vegetarian and vegan locally sourced cafe. When I lived in Morro Bay last year, I loved coming to to shine cafe. Today I got the heart beet juice and would recommend it if you like beets. Has an additional kick with the ginger! I have also had their bowls and tacos. Both very good. Also try the "sweets" displayed on the counter, usually some type of vegan dessert. Always yummy. The service is quick and friendly and there is ample seating inside or outside. read more

The order took 40 minutes to come out. I ordered the black bean tostada and vegetable soup. The "tostada" was a large salad with a table spoon of rice and black beans in the corner and a filo dough shell on top. This was not in the description nor was it even close to a tostada. Even calling it that is an insult. The girl at the register was rude when I asked why the tostada was a salad and she rudley responded it is a ToStAda. My husband's burrito: plain brown rice, plain black beans, and some greens. This is why vegan restaurants get a bad wrap. PUNS. read more

We love this place. Portions are big and everything is very fresh. My favorites are the famous tempeh taco, the wrap, and the spring rolls. The smoothies are great too. My only issue is that we got three street tacos to go and they were very small and not worth the price IMO. Their menu will satisfy the meat eaters and veg heads alike! read more

Nice vegan spot for lunch. Great selection of dishes. Only reason for 4 stars is that most of the dishes are mostly just a huge salad. Eg my wife had the black bean taco but the tortilla and beans are literally un-findable under all the salad. So if you like salad you will like the dishes. This place is so good that we kept coming back here every single day of our trip! Their jackfruit street tacos are TO DIE FOR. We also loved the tofu scramble, TLT and the tempeh tacos. I usually hate healthy smoothies/wellness shots etc. - but the green dragon smoothie surprised me. The food here hits the sweet spot between healthy and delicious - and it's all vegan! read more

The reason I'm taking off a star is because the employee working during my visit used a lot of profanity while speaking. The broth was complex with the duck fat and togarashi; it is noted the broth contains pork, chicken and dasmi. It was excellent. Their Beef Bulgogi Bowl was quite good. It consisted of four char grilled filet mignon skewers (2 pieces per skewer), kimchi, shredded carrots & daikon, pickled red onion, avocado slices, over herbed brown rice and topped with green onions, black sesame seeds, basil and a gochujang glaze. Probably bought at a flea market. We were crushed. I had a combo platter of one crispy carnitas taco at $23. Ground beef. Very basic and lacked flavor. Outrageous for over $20. Wife had two enchiladas a la carte, cheese and green at $13. Mush. At least we have our memories and hope that someone will come along to resurrect it into at least something close to what was.

If you're vegan (or even just vegan-curious) and heading to Morro Bay, do yourself a favor and put Shine Café at the top of your list. Before our weekend trip, I did my usual deep dive into plant-based options and this place absolutely delivered. While my pescatarian husband was off doing his own thing, I happily went all-in here... twice. For dinner, I ordered the Tempeh Reuben back to the hotel, and WOW. The seared tempeh had that perfect savory, slightly crispy edge, and the combination of creamy cilantro dressing with tangy sauerkraut and stone-ground mustard was next-level. Add in avocado (because yes, please) and it somehow felt both indulgent and incredibly fresh at the same time. You can tell they really understand how to build flavor in a fully vegan dish. The next morning, I went back for The Bomb Bagel and the name is not exaggerating. Loaded with vegan cream cheese, crisp veggies, avocado, sprouts, and that magical drizzle of Cayucos hot sauce...that hot sauce MADE the bagel. So good, I literally bought a bottle to take home. Beyond the food, the vibe is exactly what you want: friendly, easygoing counter service, no fuss, just genuinely kind people who seem to care about what they're serving.
