I would highly recommend you choose something else. Service - We went there after visiting the park about 15 min after they opened. The hostess was not very friendly and told us it would be a 10 to 15 min wait. The place was empty so in not sure why we waited. After being seated we waited again for our server to bring water and ask us for drinks. The same level of service was given to us the entire meal. Food - we ordered chicken nachos as a starter with guac. Came out with more beans than chicken and no guac. (Had to ask server to remove from tab twic which added 15 min to our escape from this place). I ordered an ahi tuna salad and I honestly could not have told you what protein I was eating. This is the only sit-down restaurant at Red Rocks, and for that I am very grateful. Eat dinner here first and avoid the show traffic. This is NOT a "fancy nice" place (no tablecloths), and is closer to a chain restaurant than one might hope for. The quality of the food was better than I expected; I had the salmon burger, my wife had the veggie pita, which she loved. Good wine list although only by the plastic glass, not by the bottle at shows. Service was a little slow but better than I expected based on other reviews. If you are in a hurry, do not come here. Give yourself at least an hour to eat. Definitely recommended. Not the best restaurant in the world, but for what it is, it is good. I can't. I just can't. Terrible service. Terrible job from the kitchen. What a disappointment! On a recent hiking outing that went a few miles longer than we were expecting we stopped in at Ship Rock Grille to refuel ourselves for the hike back to the car. We went in just to have a few drinks and apps. When we arrived only 3 or 4 tables were filled so I assumed the service would be good. The girl that sat us said, "Your server will be with you shortly, can I get you anything to drink?" So we ordered a few sodas and water. Upon her return we still hadn't seen the aforementioned "other" server so when she asked if we had any questions on the menu I just told her what we wanted to eat figuring she would tell our server. We ordered the Fan Club Fry Duo which is supposed to be "Signature Garlic Fries with Black Pepper Aioli Dipping Sauce and Chef's own Buffalo Fries with Your Choice of Ranch or Bleu Cheese Dressing". When the order came out a person from the kitchen delivered it and told us yet again that our server would be by the table shortly. What was delivered was barely half the dish. It was a plate of normal fries with half of them having minced uncooked garlic and a small bowl of buffalo sauce. So, they didn't cook the buffalo fries, they just gave us the sauce on the side. They didn't give us ranch dressing. They didn't give us the aioli dipping sauce. Soooooo....I waited for the mystery server to come by so I could ask, "WTF and can we please have a soda refill?". But the server never came by. About 5 minutes later, I was able to get the attention of another employee and asked her to get our server. She said that she could help and went to fetch us the two missing sauces. They never mentioned or offered to cook the buffalo fries correctly. After another 5-10 minutes, the original girl that sat us came by and asked how everything was. What? You were our server the whole time? Even when you said someone else was coming? And the only other server said she wasn't our server either? And our order wasn't cooked properly? And our glasses were empty half the time? I can't. Just can't. SMH. read more

Nice little restaurant that I never knew existed. We went here on a Saturday afternoon after walking our dog in the park. The cool thing....we ate out on the patio and the staff allowed us to bring the dog out there. The menu was limited, but the food was good. The price was a bit high for a sandwich with fries, but I assume the cost of rent to keep the restaurant is astronomical. The server we had was super friendly and brought our dog a plastic to go dish with water. Great view. Nice place to sit outside. I may try this place before my next concert. read more

It is exhausting trying to find your way around if you haven't been to Red Rocks before, no information or signs about where to go. Parking lots fill up and get closed. Make sure they let you into the right parking lot for the restaurant (Upper North). I got the run around and was fit to be tied when I finally arrived at the Grille. (No signs for leaving the amphitheater either!) I think the altitude was also hitting me. My server, Kathy was wonderful and compassionate. She and her manager Jerry took care of me and turned my frustrating evening around, I am so grateful! read more

This grill was very convenient and had a nice view. Cathy, our hostess and waitress, made the experience superb! We had the BLT with avocado, bison chili, and the fish and chips. I liked the chili the best with a little bit of heat. The BLT was good and the fish & chips were ok. Cathy recommended a refreshing cocktail made of tangerine vodka, pineapple and sprite. You're going to love this place if you don't care about service or food. Granted the service people can be very accommodating when along comes another server who counter acts the first server's actions on : should the patio door be open to accommodate servers or closed so that the patrons inside don't freeze to death. It was like Laurel and Hardy. Our party of 4 ordered a hamburger, a BLT, fish and chips, and chicken wings. We arrived with our reservation at opening - 10:30. Received our beer and then our orders became a long long process. 10 minutes and I spied the BLT on the warmer lamp in the kitchen. Hmm, that's sat for about 30 minutes while I tried to figure out what my guest who ordered it was going to say. Now just to give you a feel for this there were only two other tables in the entire restaurant and no one outside on the patio. Visualize the patio door being opened and closed about 14 times. Anerican food, burgers, cheese steaks,fish and chips, loaded fries. Of course you are there at Red Rocks. Burgers are big and cooked accurately on a nice brioche bun with plenty of fries. Choose your own toppings and extras. Onion rings come on a tall spiral spike and are excellent servers are young and friendly. Everone was eating on the patio on a day with no concert. Came to Red Rocks Park for the views and the hiking, ended up grabbing lunch here to refuel. Got the buffalo chicken chili and split the bacon avo BLT with my girlfriend. The soup was superb - spicy and hearty. The pita strips were a nice touch. The BLT wasn't anything special, but it was still tasty. We had a friendly server who was very attentive. You might be apprehensive to stop here because of the cost, but I'd recommend it if you aren't going to get upset to spend a little extra for an ok dining experience. read more

Worst buffet experience ever! We were a party of four (4) with 6:45 pm dinner reservations prior to the Josh Groban concert on August 28, 2019. The buffet style dinner was the worst buffet I have ever experienced! The hot food was warm at best, one of the desserts was frozen in the center, the roasted Brussels sprouts were nearly raw, no water-glass refills and price was expensive for the poor food. Would have been helpful to have a buffet menu information posted to help with food selection. Time would not allow me to go back in line to get more or different food due to an extremely long line of other concert-goers. Terrible experience...will tail gate next time!! read more

They price the food here like going to the Rainforest Cafe or other touristy places. They know they can make a little more buck just because of the view. Therefore we figured we would just split an app and a burger to ensure we would not spend more than we wanted. The atmosphere was nice, what little you can see of it while eating, but the restaurant should sit a bit lower so you get a better view of the rocks and grounds. Though to the important part, if you do come here get the cracklings, they are worth stopping by. The burger was average at best, but my wife liked it, so I will give this a 3 star rating. read more

The food was average and adequate. A good place for lunch. Hours are very limited in the winter; I don't know about summer. The wait staff was nice and the food was delivered in about 15-20 minutes. Be cautious about buying anything with alcohol, even beer. A standard can of beer is about $7 and craft beer is $9. Not a poor man's drink anymore. I called the phone number for them but got an answering machine stating to leave the details of the reservation and someone would call you back asap within business hours...so I did. This was on a Friday. Guess what?? No return call! I called again on Monday...same routine, left another message...again no return call. Trying one last time I called again on Tuesday, surprise... Answering machine!!! This time in my message I said that if they are just already booked for that day, a courtesy call would REALLY be appreciated so that I know. Nope...no call. We stopped in for a late lunch before hiking around Red Rocks. The service was absolutely terrible. You can tell that they're the only game in town because this service would put them out of business if there were literally any other option. The hostess originally told us it would be 15-20 minutes before we could sit on the patio, so we chose to eat inside because we were starving. Needless to say, we should have waited for the outdoor seating because we waited at our table for 15 minutes in a mostly empty dining room before I went up to the hostess stand to see if a waiter had been assigned to our table. We finally had our server come over, who acted as though nothing had happened. I ordered the Mediterranean Caesar with grilled chicken and E. ordered the Turkey Club with the green chili mac and cheese. It took another 40 minutes to get the food out, which I find pretty inexplicable given that we were ordering food that doesn't take very long to prepare. The food was decent, so one star for that. Had dinner there last Friday before attending a show at the Red Rock Amphitheater. We shared Bison Chili and Elk Sliders with onion rings and BBQ Sauce. Delicious! It took a while to get our meals, so they gave us two free desserts! We shared them with another couple that was sitting at our table. The chocolate brownie dessert and the creme brule were delicious-large portions that should be shared. The concert was suppose to start at 6pm, but once we got to the restaurant, the waitress told us that the group we were there to see, Railroad Earth, would not be preforming until 9:30pm! We had made reservations at 5pm, because Railroad Earth was suppose to start at 6pm or so we thought. We did not see anything about others groups (there were 2) preforming first. If we had known, we would of arrived much later for dinner.... Beautiful views both from the restaurant and the amphitheater. read more

There is no doubt that the beauty of Red Rocks makes this restaurant special. But the new menu is pretty awful. Our table tried four items and they were all pretty bad. Their previous menu was much better, especially the garlic fries and green chili. The service has always been slow. Possibly due to the new menu it was slower than usual. It took a total of 90 minutes from seating to leaving. Many people were leaving their meals to get to their seats, and many were frustrated having waited to get in and then not be able to eat before the show. Also, there are no seats at the bar, so waiting for a table is uncomfortable. This used to be a favorite spot of ours. We may give it one more try. But honestly, the food within the venue is good, and if it is a nice evening I would recommend avoiding Shiprock. read more

Got there at Reservation time for the patio and was told it was first come first serve-why did I make a reservation 2 months ahead of time? Had to sit inside-fine. Food came out a chicken sandwich was a undercooked and large red vein in it. Waitress took it back said they would make a new one, whole table finished eating when I recieved my food that the "manager"brought out without a word, just dropped it in front of me. The sandwich had been cut in half so there was barley any chicken on the sandwich -I asked the waitress for silverware because they took mine earlier and asked the manger to come over. He can over and said you asked for me? I explained what the issues were and he said "WHAT would you like me to do about it?" A friend at the table said taking care of her meal -he said "FINE" and stormed away. He definite needs Hospitality training! He did not take it off we had to ask again. We were very excited to try out this restaurant based on the menu and location. We made reservations online and got multiple email and text confirmations. We did notice that there was mention of a concert, and thought that could be fun. We got stuck in concert traffic for 45 min, but called and the restaurant said they would hold our reservation. After finding and parking and following the flags we got to where they were letting people into the concert to ask where we go. At that time we discovered that we could not enter the restaurant without tickets to the sold out concert. We were told that it was our responsibility to be aware of this policy even though it was never stated in the reservation process or the confirmation emails/texts. Extremely disappointing waste of an evening! I would recommend nobody try to go here as you may be going hungry! read more
