I've definitely been trying to eat more Hole foods and GUUURL SHIRLEY! You hit the spot! Personally, I don't think I've ever had a truly terrible bagel. Bagels are so wonderful and I often ask myself why they are so much more delicious than your average slice of bread (maybe it's the hole? maybe it's the cream cheese? maybe I just really like bagels?) Depending on how many bagels you order, these bagels come out a bit over $1 and I think that price is totally reasonable! I ended up ordering a 6-pack consisting of Blueberry, Everything, Sesame, Poppy, Super Onion, and Plain. All the bagels were delicious! They were dense, but not too dense, and had a great chew. When toasted, they were perfection! I will say that some of the bagels were significantly smaller so I think consistency may sometimes be an issue. What really surprised me was the cream cheese! I ordered a strawberry cream cheese and scallion garlic cream cheese. What wowed me was how flavorful and prominent the flavors were! You could REALLY taste the flavor of both cream cheeses and I truly enjoyed it. For example, I had garlic breath after that cream cheese for a while and I did not mind it one bit. In fact, dare I say, I was almost sad when it went away? haha Overall, I love bagels. And I will definitely order from Shirley's again when I have a craving! read more

The online ordering process was fairly simple and easy to use. Prices are affordable, but parking was pretty hard to find in the small parking lot that they had. Food was ready right when we got there. Bagel was a little cold from toasting, but were extremely delicious! Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Great bagels, light and fluffy. Even when toasted, they remain light and not crunchy. The Santa Fe breakfast sandwich was good overall. It comes with deluxe ingredients such as grilled onions and peppers. I got it with bacon on an Everything Bagel. But they didn't put much of the Chipotle spread on there. Next time I'll either ask for extra Chipotle spread or I'll ask for some plain cream cheese to accompany the Chipotle spread. The jalapeno cheese bagel is great. My wife got it with plain cream cheese, bacon, and cheddar. Next time I'll ask them to melt the cheddar more. By the way they even have Acai Bowls here. Being a New Yorker, it's hard to find a good bagel place outside the city. Shirley's is one of the better places where I can get my bagel fix. I ordered the Lox and Egg on toasted everything bagel. Absolutely obsessed with their bagels. It's so good and I love the cream cheese options the offer as well. Service is pretty quick unless you're getting a sandwich. But everything is made fresh to order. I've tried the Santa Fe breakfast sandwich, sausage & egg, and the lox breakfast sandwich. Grew up eating Shirley's my entire life. As of late it just seems the service has gone down hill. No one acknowledges you when you walk in they just kind of let you stand there. The line doesn't move like it used to. They seem more concerned with pickup orders than customers in the store trying to place orders. Really had a nice experience with Shirley's bagels this morning. Dropped by to grab a breakfast sandwich for my partner and left with a smile on my face (and certain to return). Guy up front (sadly didn't catch his name.. no name tag) - greeted me promptly and made some friendly conversaton without being overbearing. Took my order and wished me well.. never feeling artificial along the way. Pleasantly surprising! The bagel itself was delicious (and pretty well portioned). Got the egg/sausage/cheese bagel on a cheddar. Added bacon because this is America and enjoyed it thoroughly. Ended up making two meals of it one sandwich. The coffee was just alright.. I am never really impressed with bagel shop coffee for some reason. Maybe there's something happening with my taste buds after eating a bite of bagel. Who knows. I see so many reviews of locals complaining of this!! It's simple: mobile orders in one line ONLY, have something to divide the two lines so ppl aren't confused. Highly recommend this place. I'm a contractor, I often bring breakfast to the different companies I work for. With just one call I make my order and pick up the next day. I normally get the breakfast box of 10 bagels with cheese, eggs and assorted meat (bacon, ham & sausage). The only negative thing is that website doesn't let you order for a future date, that's why I call. Other than that I'm very happy and will continue to order for them!!! Recently its just been total chaos over there and this AM on a non busy day was no exception. Was waiting in the take out line (because I ordered online) and nobody was manning the order in line so they were taking regular orders in the take out line. Waited patiently while they worked through the line when someone in the order in line opened ip so ai asked for my take out order. She said I had to wait in the take out line. I explained what they had been doing and reversed everything so after an eye roll I got my take out order.... They got my order wrong. I had ordered and ABC and as you can see something is missing . Just rough because Shirley's used to be my go to but now they are totally disorganized, usually crowded and backed up and have gotten my order wrong now on multiple occasions. Been coming here after my shift in the mornings. My go to lately has been the CTA bagel on the everything bagel. I'm not usually a fan of fresh tomatoes like this, but holy heck this was delicious!! I think it was mainly their lemon pepper seasoning that makes it so good. It was so good, I bought an extra 2 oz just to have at home. I've never had lemon pepper that was so lemony. I've gotten their savory bagels before, but maybe bc of Covid and I had to bring it home to eat. It was too soggy and not very good. I love their fresh bagels and muffins! I got the blueberry today, and yummmms!!! You can order ahead too if you don't want to wait in the ordering line. But it goes by pretty quickly, so I just order when I get there. Really impressed by the bagels from this shop! SoCal is not known for bagels so I'm always hesitant to try bagel shops down here but I'm so glad I tried Shirleys. I got the lox, egg, and cucumber bagel sandwich with cream cheese on an everything bagel and it was delicious. The bagel was light and chewy and not thought at all. There was plenty of cream cheese, egg and lox, and the crunchiness of the cucumber was a nice addition. My friend got the Santa Fe on the jalapeño and cheese and he loved it. I took a bite and really liked it as well. There's a hint of spiciness in the bagel from the jalapeño but it's not too much. You also get a great cheese pull when you bite into it. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be picking up extra bagels to take home! read more
