I was displeased with the temperature of the food I ordered. It was cold and the staff began mopping the floor before my mother and I had finished eating. The scent from the cleaner was so strong we couldn't enjoy the remainder of the meal. More importantly, we felt like we were being rushed out. It is common courtesy to make customers feel wanted for as long as they are guests. Oh...and it was my birthday and the staff knew that. My husband and I decided to try this place out on a date night. Food is great. But the service not so great. It was a Thursday night, not really busy. Our server that night was Marie. My husband ordered a drink and it was suppose to come in a souvenir mug. Marie comes out with just a glass and my husband asks about the souvenir mug and she said she brings this drink out in just a glass. If we are paying $11 for a drink, we better get that souvenir mug. We got the mug but not point. If it says on the menu comes with souvenir mug then bring it out in that mug!!!Marie was not friendly or helpful when we asked questions about the menu. Shogun has teppan and sushi. If you are into teppan then I think you will like it here. Depending on the chef, the "show" can be somewhat entertaining, if not corny. The food itself is decent. Plus there is a cute waitress who works the teppan area (not that I notice that sort of thing). If you are more of a sushi fan, then Shogun is serviceable. Love coming here & dining at the teppan side. Their steaks are great & their fried rice is to die for. Servers and waiters are all friendly and attentive & the performance cooks are entertaining. I went to the Teppan show. The Chef was funny and entertaining. His name was Albert, so some authenticity was lost. The food was good, not orgasmic, but it is an experience and I had fun. I would say the fried rice was the highlight of the meal. We had to sit next to strangers, which I normally frown upon because I do not care for strangers, but he was engaging and enhanced the experience. The ambiance is good. The waitress was attentive, but I would not characterize her as friendly or particularly engaging. Sake bombs were involved with the meal, so that must be taken into account when reading this review. I would go back with the right group of people because it is fun, but I would not go back solely because of the food. read more

This is my second favorite sushi restaurant! Their rolls are scrumptious! A note of caution: I find it hard to dine here during lunch if you are on a tight schedule, because you will be lucky to get out in an hour and a half. My favorite rolls are the crunchy roll (super crunchy w/ the best eel sauce I've ever had), and the rainbow roll. All of their sushi is super fresh!! I've never had anything I didn't like! The teppan grill is an amazing experience. Plan on spending at least $17-20 per meal at the grill, but the show and food are well worth the cost! Their teppan chef's are super entertaining and friendly! Even though I've seen their show over and over again, it never gets tiresome. If you plan to eat at the grill, they make you wait until they have enough people to fill the grill seats. Their paradise tea is the best I've ever had. read more

Normally I don't have an issue with this place. The food is great. The problem I've been having lately is that the posted opening time is 11:30 and we show up and the door is open but the host days they aren't open till 12. The host or whoever she is wasn't even apologetic about anything. Rude and unhelpful. If your going to adjust your open times you should post a notice. And then not be mean about it like it's the guests fault. However the food was especially good today. If this issue didn't happen I would have given 5 stars. But if your in hospitality you need to care more about your guest experience. read more

Best place ever! I go there for casual and business meetings. Love their food. Waaaaay better than Benihana! Dinners can be pricey so we try to get there before 3pm to enjoy same quality and quantity of food but at a fraction of the dinner cost with their lunch specials. My fiancé's mother loves to come here. I don't get it. The food is okay but not worth what you have to pay. The show is cute at first, but not so much the second or third time. Most of the time, I feel as the chicken and steak are too dry and the lobster too salty. However, I did really like the Las Vegas roll. That was pretty delicious. My husband and I love Shoguns! First time we came the food was good but the cook did not put on a good show. We went yesterday for our anniversary and we had Tommy as our cook. He's amazing! We love the sushi here more than anywhere else in the area. It is definitely more expensive but worth it since it's higher quality. We pretty much only eat on the sushi side so we rarely have to wait very long (we eat a little early and take our young kids too), but the teppan side is also delicious and fun. read more

Went to Shogun last night for the first time. Although there was alot of people, We were seated within 10 minutes which was good. Our drink order was taken right away, very good. Our food order was taken quickly also and the chef was hilarious. He was goofy, did all kinds of tricks and made us laugh so hard. Food was amazing. I had the New York Steak which was very fresh and cooked to perfection. My girl had the lemon chicken, which was also good. It is not cheap but it is well worth the money you spend and with Soup, salad, appetizer and main course you are full and will need a doggy bag most likely. 5 star service all the way. read more

The hostess was young and lacked what it takes to be a good hostess, with attitude and poor customer service skills she took other people ahead of us and when questioned was just playing rude. Have been going here since it opened and never had an experience as bad as the one we had 2/23/19. DO NOT sit in the new back room. We literally believed we were in the training room. Waitress clearly couldn't handle serving 2 tables at once. We waited for 30 minutes just for water, salad was forgotten, waitress brought out our appetizer roll with the bill 1 hour and 45 minutes later.
