The waiter was on top of the drinks and the food. Salads came out almost immediately. I had the wedge salad with Italian dressing. Very fresh lettuce and not too much dressing. Everyone else was happy with their salads. I ordered another Yuengling (in a bottle-nothing on tap) and the steaks were out shortly thereafter. The meat covered a lot of the plate. I ordered medium well and it came a little under done but was still very good. Bang for the buck you can't do better. The au gratin potatoes were ok. I have never had potatoes like that before. I would try them again. The Cub itself has been there since 1939. Definitely a dive bar feel. Brick building, solid and well built. Definitely will try for a repeat if/when I'm back in Shreveport.
