It's unfortunate that you can't withhold stars, because this place doesn't deserve a single one. I won't rate the food because I am a vegan with celiac disease, and didn't actually eat anything, because there's nothing that my diet will allow on their menu. I did, however, place a 62 dollar order.
I will start at the beginning.
Yesterday (1-22-2015) was my mother's birthday. She loves Japanese food, so I decided that along with her presents and cake, I would deliver some of her food favorites to her. After work, I drove to Shogun's. It was 8:34pm. They close at 9pm. Yet, it was already closed. As my sister and I were walking back to my vehicle, someone opened the door, and asked if our order was to be taken home, to which we said it would be. We ordered the following: THREE Yaki Udon with chicken, ONE tempura appetizer (which, by the way, is incredibly overpriced and came with 5 pieces. 3 veggie and two shriveled prawn), and ONE bento box.
The wait was not substantial, and we quickly left the establishment.
I live on the other side of Stockton, and arrived at my destination after 9pm. That's when I checked my order and saw that one yaki udon was missing. I called and left a message, since Shogun was closed.
At the time, I couldn't have expected this would become such a mess. Everyone makes mistakes, and it was so easy to correct it.
When early afternoon the following day had arrived, and I still hadn't received a return call, I decided to try them again, during my lunch break. A man with an accent answered the phone, and I told him about my message and the missing noodles.
At no point was I angry, or blaming anyone, or demanding. MISTAKES HAPPEN.
He told me that wasn't possible. My order went out complete. He then asks the cook if he sent out all my noodles, to which he replied he had.
As if he was truly going to say something along the lines of, "Well, no I didn't. I sent her out with a partial order, because why the hell not. I was bored, lol."
Of course he was going to say it was complete!
Then, the man with the accent told me he was not going to argue with me, and I should just return for a replacement. And that is exactly what I did. After work, I drove to the restaurant. I walked in, and saw the man who took my order. I greeted him with, "Hello, you may remember me from yesterday evening." BOOM! That was enough to set him off. He went on about how the cameras saw all the orders were placed, and two employees agreed everything was packed in the bags. As I tried to explain to him that this was not the case, and I really have absolutely no reason to lie, embarrassed at the fact that he cares so little about his customers to STEAL from them, (Because this is, in fact, theft), and yell at someone in front of his patrons. There was no arguing. There was only him, losing his mind over NOODLES. Wrap your head around that. It's the principle of the matter, and he became a candidate for a lobotomy OVER NOODLES.
I was only there because he agreed to replace them, but what he really did was make me drive out of my way to humiliate me publicly. A real class act.
I repeatedly reminded him that it was okay to calm down, and that I understood how stressful dealing with many people every day can be. I told him I wasn't being rude, and that it would be nice to receive civility in return. He said I could call 911 if I wanted, and that he had a lawyer. He kept trying to hand me the restaurant phone. "Call 911. Call 911. I have lawyer."
I told him I wasn't threatening to sue him.
THAT MAN IS INSANE AND HE TREATS THE RESTAURANT'S PATRONS LIKE CRAP. read more
