The location was a little confusing to find at first since it is located inside of a food hall in Ontario but the katsu, chicken sandwiches, and musubis here are delicious !! The prices are fair and the portions are fair for the price. I also loved the macaroni salad and I'm the type of person that is picky and doesn't typically like the macaroni salad at Hawaiian places. There is plenty of seating inside of the food hall and the food hall is spacious and clean. (Whittier location) The food is always excellent, the kimchi butter is off planet and everything it's on not only compliments it, it actually never fails with every bite and it never gets old. The Whittier location is in the Rodeo 72 on Whittier blvd on the former Fred C. Nelles Correctional School for Boys property, which is also home to a new housing complex. The staff is great and very communal and the service is excellent and fast as can be expected with a busy crowd in tow. The batter tasted like the fryers could've been cleaned out. It wasn't bad at all but I just expected for the batter around the shrimp to be a golden color..the spam masubi however was really tasty. & the Ube beignets were super fluffy, & the ube paste was delicious. I originally saw Shootz on TikTok and saved it in my bookmarks forever ago, so when I happened to be passing through the area I was so excited to finally try it. My boyfriend and I both got the spicy mixed plate with shrimp and chicken and it was sooo good. The real star was the kimchi butter which had absolutely unreal flavor. I honestly wish it came on the side so I could dip everything in it because while it made the rice a little soggy, the flavor that soaked in was out of this world. The mac salad was just okay. I would've liked it colder and a bit firmer, but it still worked as a creamy, neutral balance to the mildly spicy protein. The service was friendly and quick, and the food hall setup was perfect with plenty of seating and TVs to watch the game. Just for the record, I really enjoy the Shootz location in Stanton. This location of Shootz in Ontario Ranch area is significantly inferior. Sadly they are located in a pretty dead food hall, so they don't have as much foot traffic as their other location. I excitedly ordered their 2 piece Spam Brulee Musubi ($3.99) and somehow it comes out before I'm done paying, the food is ready... I would be impressed if it tasted good. But it was sad and cold like stale musubi. The brulee aspect that makes it special was not on this version of the brulee musubi. I felt embarassed that I insisted to come here to try it. What a waste of gas money and time. Not a good replication at all. They should work on training staff better when they expand. read more

Pretty solid Hawaiian fusion in the IE (not common here imo) but it does seem I was a bit late to the party as they have decreased their menu options vs what i've seen online. However the food was still great, just in a not-so-great location (i'd definitely try the other locations if i'm in the area). Food (8/10) Opted for the #2 wavy bundle (2 kimchi butter katsu chicken sandwiches + 2pc spam brûlée musubi. Upgraded to the strawberry pineapple refresher for a drink, which was great and not overbearingly sweet. The sandwiches (one spicy one regular) were tasty, i really like the complex flavors with the mac salad, brûlée'd sugar, the well seasoned and crispy (but pretty greasy) spicy chicken (regular one lacked a bit in flavor), the sweet (moist!) bun everything just pairs delectably. Their musubi flavor was a new take for me (id get them again!) most i've had have been very...plain/dry compared to this. Never visited the islands, can't speak too much on authenticity but the portion sizes for the flavors and cost were reasonable. Service (7/10) As per my standard 7, this is an order-at-the-counter spot with not much server interaction, so there wasn't much to note. Went during slow hours so food came out fast.
