Kimchi Butter Chicken Katsu Sandwich and spam brulee masubi
    Michael V.

Went with a buddy to Shootz and got the combo #2 which includes two chicken katsu sandwiches, 2 pieces of spam brulee masubi, and a drink for around $22. This was such a good deal for two and sooo good. The chicken itself is so good. I got it spicy style and the mac salad on top is great too. For the price and the taste, you literally can't beat it. I can't wait to go back again!

Currently my favorite spot. 10/10 I get the two sandwiches and a Katsu plate perfect for sharing.

The literal definition of the flavors are melting on my tongue. The food was so good, I crave it when I dream. The service was also amazing the cashier had so much patience with my sisters and I since there was really loud music, I couldn't even hear myself. But overall I will come again and this time on an empty stomach!!

Bor pen nyang. The Laotian expression, more or less, for "sh*t happens." Your favorite Yelp correspondent and occasional Uber Eats driver found himself in the northeast corner of Ontario after ferrying a Mediterranean meal from my hometown of Diamond Bar to Ontario when my attention was riveted by the "Kra Z Kai's Laotian BBQ" signage alight on the building. Upon entering into the communal dining hall, I discovered that Kra Z Kai's apparently shuttered a month ago. I immediately noticed the long queue snaking its way to the register at Shootz. Though I was crestfallen about Kra Z Kai's closure, I decided to roll the dice -shootz my luck, if you'll pardon my brutal pun- and try out Shootz. I tabbed the best looking item on their pictorial menu- Their much balkyhooed Kimchi Buttered Katsu Chicken Combo, which comes with spicy Mac Salad and steamed rice tossed with green onions and furikake, a popular Nipponese seasoning comprised of minced dried seaweed (nori), sesame seeds and salt/pepper. The moneymaker dish is excellent. The katsu chicken has a nice but not overly crunchy exterior, drenched in a flavorful, Umani-rich sauce made of kimchi butter. Shootz has locations in Ontario, Whittier and Stanton, so I don't know when I'll have it again...but if I I find myself in Ontario again, then I'll definitely take -you guessed it- another shot.

Asked for sauce on the side this time and it tasted way better when it's not drenched with butter and oil. Katsu was crispy and juicy, Mac salad was yummy without being overly filled with mayo.

My son and I were looking for something to eat when he recommended Shootz in Ontario Ranch. I had never been there before, but it was nearby, and he assured me that the food was good--so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the shrimp with rice and macaroni salad, and everything was delicious and full of flavor. It was so good that I went back the very next day and ordered the exact same meal! The portion size was decent, and the service was good as well. My son ordered the chicken with rice and macaroni salad, and of course, I had to steal a piece of his chicken. It was tender, flavorful, and just as delicious as my shrimp. The only challenge was finding the restaurant because it is nestled inside another building, and since I had never been there before, I wasn't sure where to go. However, the food was definitely worth finding. If you enjoy Ono Hawaiian BBQ or other restaurants with a similar style of food, I think you will enjoy Shootz. I'm not sure whether it is officially considered Hawaiian barbecue, but whatever you call it, the food is very good. I would definitely recommend this spot if you're in the Ontario Ranch area. There is also a large eating and bar area adjacent Shootz. I am not sure but they may have entertainment in that area.

Second time here and this time I had the katsu chicken sandwich with kimchi butter. I am not a fan of kimchi but I'd have to say it was delicious. Lines and wait time can be unpredictable since they cook things to order and the place can get busy. If you want something different, give this a try. And of course we had the ube beignets, that is a given.

LOCATION: in the heat of Ontario Ranch, located in a food court and in a plaza with other food and retail. Plenty of parking but can get busy on weekends or rush hours. SERVICE: everyone is friendly and nice and feels very family oriented. My order came with a nice custom paper bag with utensils, napkins, and the food itself. Overall, great service and food came out less than 5 mins. I appreciate their simple menu with a few to choose from so it's not complicated. The combos make it easier to try everything including the spam musubi. FOOD: one of the best Hawaiian food I've ever had! I got the combo with chicken and jumbo shrimp. And the flavor was amazing, super crispy, and little bit of heat. Lots of flavor and the rice with seaweed and macaroni salad balanced out the meat very well. Wish it was a bit more in portion, but it fills you just right.

Tried Shootz when an out of town friend was visiting and the hubby and I were such fans! ---katsu chicken sando: the chicken was nice and crispy, flavorful, and the sando came with some Mac salad, such a great combo ---spam musubi: hard to mess this up and there's did not disappoint The hubby has already gone back for the katsu chicken sando!

Planned to stop here for dinner from our drive from Vegas. I have heard about this place and the hype was hard to pass. This is located in the Rodeo X food court (type of place) - lots of seating all over the place. service was good- friendly. Sooo happy we tried tho cuz... the hype is real! That Kim chi butttttah--- is fire. I didnt know what to expect but the expectation was higher than I expected IYKYK. The chicken katsu itself was perfect! The mac salad was good too... my oldest enjoyed every bite. The brulee musubi was good too. OVERALL! 10/10! Def would go back.... Mmm still thinking about that Kim chee buttttah .

If you love bold flavors and elevated Hawaiian comfort food, definitely check out Shootz. The Kimchi Butter Shrimp is perfectly crisp, lightly battered shrimp tossed in their signature kimchi butter that's equal parts savory, tangy, and addictive. Every plate comes with two scoops of steamed rice and a scoop of creamy mac salad, making it a satisfying, well-rounded meal. The Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken Sandwich is another great option. Served on a toasted Hawaiian bun, the chicken is crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and topped with a rich kimchi aioli and a touch of macaroni salad for that classic Hawaiian-style twist. It's messy in the best way and packed with flavor. Don't forget their Spam Brulee Musubi - grilled spam is sandwiched between steamed rice, wrapped in nori, and topped with kimchi aioli and bruleed brown sugar. It's sweet, salty, and just ridiculously satisfying.

I am absolutely stunned by how good the food is here!! The katsu chicken sandwich is to DIE for. It's made with dark meat chicken which makes it extremely juicy and is topped with their famous spicy kimchi butter, which honestly is such a gamechanger. If you are unsure of what to order here, DEFINITELY get the chicken sandwich. I would recommend their "wavy bundle"/combo #2 which goes for $22.69 and includes 2 Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken Sandwiches, 2 pc. spam brulee musubi, and a drink. Considering that a chicken sandwich goes for about $10, this is a really good deal. I also tried the spam brulee musubis which are solid as well. The overall musubi has somewhat of a sweet taste, since spam is caramelized and is topped with kimchi aioli and torched brown sugar. It's a super unique take on a spam musubi and worth a try! Additionally, the service here is quick (I got my food within 5 minutes), and the employees were so kind and happy; you can really tell that they love their jobs :) Lastly, the restaurant is located in the Rodeo X foodcourt in Corona, which has a few other restaurants and bars. If you know the Rodeo39 food court in Stanton, it's a very similar version, but maybe half the size. On different days, they'll have events like trivia night but you'll have to check the board every week to see what's going on. The vibes here are good and it can get lively on the weekends!

Family meal with Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken Family Pack highly recommended!

He took a couple bites of the brisket and immediately said it tasted like straight propane and was basically inedible. I tried it myself thinking maybe he was exaggerating, but unfortunately I completely agreed. There was a really strong propane/burnt taste to it. I went up to the cashier just to give her a heads up so they could double check what was going on with the brisket. She was actually very kind and offered us a full refund for the plate, which we really appreciated. We had no issues with the sausage. Unfortunately, not long after we got home, we both started feeling sick. My husband was throwing up throughout the night, and I had pretty bad stomach pains. Obviously I can't say for certain what caused it, but the timing was definitely concerning. That said, I do want to give them credit for how they handled the situation. The cashier was very nice and made things right without any hassle. Staff were all very friendly. Hopefully this was just a one off because we'd still like to give them another try and hopefully have a much better experience next time.
