This is a cute little cafe to have brunch at. They have a variety of coffees, fresh pressed juices, and booze if you're in the mood. They have patio seating outside so you can soak in the sun, people watch, and enjoy a nice meal. I lovedddd the caramelized Tahitian vanilla French toast! It had a little crunch from the caramelization of the vanilla on the French toast. We added the strawberry, blueberry, and chantilly cream to it. Perfect blend of sweet, tangy, fluffy, with a little crunch. Definitely a good sweet treat to start the day. I got a spinach, Swiss cheese, bacon omelet. The hash browns were pretty good! Crunchy, salty, and went well with the eggs. I was hoping for more of a coffee flavor in the white mocha. They make the whipped cream from scratch. The mocha was mid. I would say this place is a lil over a 4 star place. The beach bowl is an açaí bowl on top of Greek yogurt. I thought it was a little too tangy for my taste. I think having either the yogurt or açaí bowl works better than mixing the two.
Food was amazing. Nice robust flavor from the béarnaise sauce on the Salmon Benedict. Waiter was very pleasant. He asked what kind of side of toast did I want with my Benedict, I responded with "oh? There's toast included? Maybe Rye?" And he said "oh no, my apologies, it doesn't come with toast". I must have had a really sad look on my face when I said "oh ok". because he said "you know what, I'll throw in a side of complimentary toast". Anyways, great little niche close to the ocean. Nice light cool breeze. Street Parking was easy to find
Came to shoreline kitchen during a quick san diego trip! We came on a saturday morning around 9:30 AM and there was no wait. Parking around is a bit hard to find, ultimately had to park a few blocks down. We got the maple chicken sandwich and an eggs benedict and both were really good. Service was 10/10
I came for brunch on a Thursday around 11:30 and the place was busy, but not overly packed so seating was quick. I got the Classic Benedict, with the Crispy Hash Browns, and though the hollandaise was delicious there were some problems with the texture of the English Muffin. One side (that came with an already punctured-ish egg) was really tough and hard to cut through. However, the other side was light and fluffy. Another part I wasn't a fan of was that their Canadian Bacon leaned on a thicker cut and a saltier side; but there was still a generous amount of slices. Service was great and were kind in making some modifications to the menu with the scramble. There was also not a long wait time for the food to come out. Ambience leans towards beachy with a nice outside patio and a cozy seating on the inside. Though I didn't fully enjoy the item I got, I would go again and try others of their classic brunch or lunch menu.
It pains me to leave 3 stars but the service was SO slow. Maybe it was just this timing or being understaffed but it didn't seem busy when we arrived. The food was delicious and the service was slow. After our day date doing kayaking on Sunday morning (11am) across the street at EveryDay California, we saw Shorehouse across the street and the reviews looked good. We came in at 1pm on Sunday and quickly got a table. Thankfully we just had our party of 2. I did see the Yelp waitlist showed 17-30 min but we got right in and seated outside. We were quickly seated but I wish the rest of the experience would have been faster. Our server took our order after 10 min. FOOD- it took a while to get our food. 40 minutes after ordering and a guest that came after us got their food before us. -Monterey omelette - 8.5/10- my husband thought it was good with the chiles and made with quality bacon. -Egg white Mediterranean omelette- 8/10 - I liked that they offered healthy options. The omelette wasn't soaked in oil which was appreciated! -Caramelized Tahitian French toast 10/10 - I had a bite and this was delicious. We did have to ask for syrup though. Overall, this is a tasty place but maybe avoid sitting out front or going on a busy day.
Enjoyed a few hours at the beach. Asked a local where to get food was directed to the strip of restaurants. Fee options but when we stopped at Shorehouse Kitchen we knew we'd be happy with the choice as the person who greeted us was friendly and said "take your time". The roasted red pepper bisque had grilled cheese toast that was tasty and filling. The cucumber avocado sandwich with the seasoned fries complimented the soup perfectly. They also serve breakfast foods as well. Plenty of seating indoor, covered patio and on the street dining. Any seat is the right seat
Cute spot at one end of the La Jolla shores downtown strip with lots of outdoor, dog-friendly seating. They even have a full doggie menu! We arrived at 1 on a Sunday and I added us got the yelp waitlist while walking up. However upon arrival a minute later there were multiple tables available and they were able to seat us right away. Yelp said there was a 10-min wait with a few parties in front of us, so would not rely on yelp waitlist in the future.. Menu looked great, with classics as well as special items. Something for everyone between the breakfast and lunch menus, as well as a pretty extensive cafe and alcoholic menu. I was eyeing the Kyoto coffee, juices, and samovar teas, but landed on the St. George Ibarra Mocha instead since my MIL went for a spritz and we're on holiday! It wasn't too sweet but definitely a nice treat and best as a dessert after our savory lunches. Her limoncello spritz was also super yummy and both were booooozy. Carnitas poblano cornbread benedict - I don't typically get Benedicts but this sounded intriguing and so glad we got it. Perfectly poached eggs and flavorful carnitas on this great cornbread - no hollandaise needed (kept on side). The hashbrowns were crispy as promised. Quinoa pear pomegranate salad was a great combo of flavors and textures! Filling even without adding more protein (though recommend adding perhaps salmon). Tarragon chicken salad was ok - surprisingly underseasoned, not very flavorful, and the chicken was chopped smaller than I prefer. I'd skip. It was a very light dish, if that's what you're feeling! Great friendly service which we appreciated. The pastries inside looked really good too. I'd love to try a bite of those, their mango guava pancakes, and poblano white chicken chili in the future.
You can never go wrong with having brunch in La Jolla. The atmosphere is nice and it's a small quaint corner restaurant. You can find parking on the street. I found 90 minute parking on a Thursday morning across the street. Bobby was our waiter and he did a great job accommodating us. My sister and I ordered the coffee dream. It's like an espresso martini. It was really good. Sweet coffee is always fun. We were seated outside. It was a beautiful day. My sister had mushroom omelet and I had the chicken pistachio pesto burrata sandwich. My meal was ok. It came with thin fries which was good enough. The bread was kind of stiff and the taste was bland. It was a decent sandwich but I probably should've just ordered breakfast. I might try the Carlsbad location next time.
They have a yelp waitlist which is perfect for planning your wait. We came on a Saturday morning and got seated immediately since we were at the top of the list. I ordered the salmon avocado bagel which comes deconstructed and it was great! The bagel was warm and perfectly toasted and portions were perfect for me. It was really nice to sit out on the patio - perfect weather and there are umbrellas that provide shade outside. Service was nice but a bit slow - they seemed like they might be understaffed and it was pretty busy at the restaurant.
I grew up in La Jolla, so I have been coming to this street for decades to dine and can honestly say Shorehouse Kitchen is one of my favorites, in terms of breakfast. We stopped in this morning for brunch and had a wonderful meal. We were a party of four and arrived around 9:30 and did not have to wait at all for a table. Inside is quite large they have outdoor and indoor seating available and many different table size options. Our server was polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. Parking this area is pretty easy, we were able to find a free street spot very close to the front door. I started off my breakfast with a Salted Caramel Latte and honestly loved it. Salted caramel is one of my favorite flavors so I was expecting to like it and was happy to see it was as good as I hoped. With that theme going I decided to get the Salted Caramel Waffle and also really liked it. It was a thin waffle, not one of the fluffy Belgian types, but more so the type at a Waffle House. My waiter advised me that it wasn't very much in terms of size so I ordered a side of scrambled eggs and cheese and thought it was a nice addition and felt it was a good size for one person. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and I plan to be back again in the near future.
While Le jolle is not necessarily the place to go for food, this is the exception. We ended up getting a bloody marry and veggie benidict and both were great. In fact the bloody marry inspired us to start making them at home so we got the stuff for it right after. The benidict had a nice mix that even included a pistatio spread which worked well. The hash was probably the best hash I have had. A perfect ballance of crispy edges and tender insides. It all might be a bit pricy for breakfast but worth it. The atmosphere was nice but nothing crazy either. There was a decent amount of natural lighting and seating next to it which was nice. One of the small touches that I liked was the addition of a dog menu that they post on their front stand. The staff was friendly and had plenty of good recommendations. We lucked out on parking but It seems like normally pretty rough to find a spot. Overall a great place to grab breakfast.

I originally came here to try the seared salmon Benedict but was suggested the short rib hash. The dish was just ok for me, the short ribs were a bit on the dry side and the hash was oily. My son had chicken strips that he didn't eat because it was slightly burnt although the fries were good. We also had a smoothie which was just a little on the sour side which tells me that they used a little to no sugar which I was fine with and the fresh squeezed OJ was delicious. I may return to try the seared salmon Benedict which has great reviews...last but not least; I do need to give the service 2 thumbs up (which would have been 5 starts if we were rating on that alone), very prompt, courteous and consistent from beginning to end! Updated: MUST TRY SEARED SALMON & BABY KALE BENEDICT Yes, we went back and tried the Salmon Benedict and it was perfect, the Béarnaise sauce on the biscuit sealed the deal. I've been having breakfast here for quite some time, and it's typically a good breakfast and solid cup of coffee. The Monterey omelet with green chilis and breakfast potatoes were very good this morning but something was off about the coffee. For the first time, I substituted homemade biscuits ($1.50 upcharge) for the bread option with my breakfast. I asked for them to go. I was quite surprised when I got home and peeked in the takeaway container to see the biscuits (only an hour or so after ordering them). read more

I still can't stop thinking about the beach bowl! Do yourself a favor and ORDER IT! Everything was so fresh and delicious, loved the art on my cappuccino too. We walked in early before the kitchen opened but they were kind enough to seat us anyway. Our server was friendly and even said thanks for waiting. My husband said the hash browns were his favorite that he has ever had. read more

I came here for a Saturday brunch and it was absolutely amazing. The wait was honestly pretty long as we came at 9:30-10:00 and still had to wait an hour for our food. But as soon as we started eating the angus short rib & hash brown with egg, I was convinced it was worth it. The meat was melt in your mouth smooth and the portion size was huge. If you're coming for a light brunch, you could actually share one entree between two people. We also had the pork carnitas chilaquiles which was yummy too but between the two, the angus short rib was my fave. Highly recommend ! read more

If you're in La Jolla, GO to Shorehouse! We just had breakfast and it was INCREDIBLE. Best coffee and breakfast I think I've ever had. I got a lavender honey cortado and the California omelet with hash browns, & a buttermilk biscuit. It came with the most precious tiny jar of Bonne Maman strawberry jam. The cortado was creamy and dreamy. My breakfast meal was bursting with flavor! read more
Came here in March for my bfs bday weekend. This place has indoor and outdoor seating, such a cute little place! We loved it. We shared the maple chicken breakfast sandwich. My bf loved it! The maple aoli wasn't my favorite, I took a couple bites but ended up giving my half to my bf. The hash browns were so good! We tried the cappuccinos, we really enjoyed them! Even though I didn't care for what we ordered, food wise, I can't wait to come back! I loved everything about the place itself! Will definitely try a few different items next time! read more

So I was walking around the streets of La Jolla with my boyfriend when we came across this cute brunch spot! It was a very delightful experience and the food was absolutely delicious !! I got the egg white frittata with hash browns and toast. The portion was huge and the meal was very flavorful! A great assortment of veggies in the egg whites and topped with some arugula and feta cheese! I highly recommend. My boyfriend got the burger and I took a bite and was shocked at how good it was! It had a very unique fig jam between the party and the bun which gave it a sweet and salty combo. If you are a burger fan I guarantee you will like it! Stopped here for lunch on our way to shopping at the Westfield Mall in La Jolla. Parking is an issue in this area but we were able to find street parking a couple of blocks away. It was a gorgeous day so very pleasant. We were seated fairly quickly and our waitress was very pleasant. I ordered the Shorehouse Best Salad and my daughter ordered a chicken sandwich. Unfortunately I don't remember what it was called and it's not on the lunch menu on their website. It had melted white cheese, arugula and we think fig jam on toasted sourdough. It came with a choice of fries or salad. The food was very fresh and tasty. The salad is quite large and reasonable for $8. The atmosphere is light and airy. They have indoor seating and outdoor patio seating. A cute place to revisit. read more

Wonderful breakfast experience. I went with the smoked salmon bagel, and super stoked about that selection. They give you a hefty amount of salmon and a lot of toppings as well. It came with an everything bagel, avocados (super fresh), a lot of salmon, onions, and tomatoes. Also the service, seating selection, and scenery is suberb. I also went with a cold brew ice coffee and it did not disappoint! This is definitely a super solid breakfast spot if you're in San Diego/La Jolla read more

A perfect brunch spot with the girls! Came here with some friends and we definitely enjoyed it! There was a bit of a wait, but so worth it. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We started off with some mimosas which were very tasty. I ordered the Maple Fried Chicken Breakfast Sandwich with potatoes and it was soooo good! It has so much flavor and deliciousness. My fiancé and I had high expectations after reading some of the other reviews posted. We were left very disappointed. The food was good, but this was overshadowed by the poor service and the simply awful coffee beverages. We ordered a latte and a dirty chai and they were both disgusting. Neither drink was finished after the hour and a half stay (table of two on a Wednesday morning). The latte was overly milky with little coffee taste and the dirty chai had an extreme amount of cinnamon. If visiting San Diego please look for other breakfast options. read more

their waitlist option, and check-in was helpful. we had the Benedict, fried chicken sandwich, pancake stacks with an egg and side (but surprised bacon as a side is extra). Staff friendly but service slow (particularly for the drinks we ordered). I wish servers would wash hands after throwing trash into bin (happened on a few occasions and they went straight to refilling waters and grabbing plates of food). read more

Truly fantastic! Carnitas Chiliquitos, and braised short rib hash browns. The patio had heaters on and very comfortable. Clean place, friendly service. The coffee was very good and reasonably priced. Love the to go bar up front. read more

This is a really great place. The wait will be long, as this is located in a high-demand area, but with coffee (free) and a muffin (not free) you can wait for a little bit while your table becomes ready. Good food, great latte and ginger beer. Enjoy read more

No they do not. I do recommend their pineapple mimosa.
Is there on site Parking?
No. Street parking only, which can be frustrating in the summer. There's a free public parking lot at La Jolla Shores beach that's ~10 minute walk. Also, the #30 MTS bus stops one block from the restaurant. Parking tip: arrive for breakfast…
