This is a cute little cafe to have brunch at. They have a variety of coffees, fresh pressed juices, and booze if you're in the mood. They have patio seating outside so you can soak in the sun, people watch, and enjoy a nice meal. I lovedddd the caramelized Tahitian vanilla French toast! It had a little crunch from the caramelization of the vanilla on the French toast. We added the strawberry, blueberry, and chantilly cream to it. Perfect blend of sweet, tangy, fluffy, with a little crunch. Definitely a good sweet treat to start the day. I got a spinach, Swiss cheese, bacon omelet. The hash browns were pretty good! Crunchy, salty, and went well with the eggs. I was hoping for more of a coffee flavor in the white mocha. They make the whipped cream from scratch. The mocha was mid. I would say this place is a lil over a 4 star place. The beach bowl is an açaí bowl on top of Greek yogurt. I thought it was a little too tangy for my taste. I think having either the yogurt or açaí bowl works better than mixing the two.
Food was amazing. Nice robust flavor from the béarnaise sauce on the Salmon Benedict. Waiter was very pleasant. He asked what kind of side of toast did I want with my Benedict, I responded with "oh? There's toast included? Maybe Rye?" And he said "oh no, my apologies, it doesn't come with toast". I must have had a really sad look on my face when I said "oh ok". because he said "you know what, I'll throw in a side of complimentary toast". Anyways, great little niche close to the ocean. Nice light cool breeze. Street Parking was easy to find
Came to shoreline kitchen during a quick san diego trip! We came on a saturday morning around 9:30 AM and there was no wait. Parking around is a bit hard to find, ultimately had to park a few blocks down. We got the maple chicken sandwich and an eggs benedict and both were really good. Service was 10/10
I came for brunch on a Thursday around 11:30 and the place was busy, but not overly packed so seating was quick. I got the Classic Benedict, with the Crispy Hash Browns, and though the hollandaise was delicious there were some problems with the texture of the English Muffin. One side (that came with an already punctured-ish egg) was really tough and hard to cut through. However, the other side was light and fluffy. Another part I wasn't a fan of was that their Canadian Bacon leaned on a thicker cut and a saltier side; but there was still a generous amount of slices. Service was great and were kind in making some modifications to the menu with the scramble. There was also not a long wait time for the food to come out. Ambience leans towards beachy with a nice outside patio and a cozy seating on the inside. Though I didn't fully enjoy the item I got, I would go again and try others of their classic brunch or lunch menu.
It pains me to leave 3 stars but the service was SO slow. Maybe it was just this timing or being understaffed but it didn't seem busy when we arrived. The food was delicious and the service was slow. After our day date doing kayaking on Sunday morning (11am) across the street at EveryDay California, we saw Shorehouse across the street and the reviews looked good. We came in at 1pm on Sunday and quickly got a table. Thankfully we just had our party of 2. I did see the Yelp waitlist showed 17-30 min but we got right in and seated outside. We were quickly seated but I wish the rest of the experience would have been faster. Our server took our order after 10 min. FOOD- it took a while to get our food. 40 minutes after ordering and a guest that came after us got their food before us. -Monterey omelette - 8.5/10- my husband thought it was good with the chiles and made with quality bacon. -Egg white Mediterranean omelette- 8/10 - I liked that they offered healthy options. The omelette wasn't soaked in oil which was appreciated! -Caramelized Tahitian French toast 10/10 - I had a bite and this was delicious. We did have to ask for syrup though. Overall, this is a tasty place but maybe avoid sitting out front or going on a busy day.
Enjoyed a few hours at the beach. Asked a local where to get food was directed to the strip of restaurants. Fee options but when we stopped at Shorehouse Kitchen we knew we'd be happy with the choice as the person who greeted us was friendly and said "take your time". The roasted red pepper bisque had grilled cheese toast that was tasty and filling. The cucumber avocado sandwich with the seasoned fries complimented the soup perfectly. They also serve breakfast foods as well. Plenty of seating indoor, covered patio and on the street dining. Any seat is the right seat
Cute spot at one end of the La Jolla shores downtown strip with lots of outdoor, dog-friendly seating. They even have a full doggie menu! We arrived at 1 on a Sunday and I added us got the yelp waitlist while walking up. However upon arrival a minute later there were multiple tables available and they were able to seat us right away. Yelp said there was a 10-min wait with a few parties in front of us, so would not rely on yelp waitlist in the future.. Menu looked great, with classics as well as special items. Something for everyone between the breakfast and lunch menus, as well as a pretty extensive cafe and alcoholic menu. I was eyeing the Kyoto coffee, juices, and samovar teas, but landed on the St. George Ibarra Mocha instead since my MIL went for a spritz and we're on holiday! It wasn't too sweet but definitely a nice treat and best as a dessert after our savory lunches. Her limoncello spritz was also super yummy and both were booooozy. Carnitas poblano cornbread benedict - I don't typically get Benedicts but this sounded intriguing and so glad we got it. Perfectly poached eggs and flavorful carnitas on this great cornbread - no hollandaise needed (kept on side). The hashbrowns were crispy as promised. Quinoa pear pomegranate salad was a great combo of flavors and textures! Filling even without adding more protein (though recommend adding perhaps salmon). Tarragon chicken salad was ok - surprisingly underseasoned, not very flavorful, and the chicken was chopped smaller than I prefer. I'd skip. It was a very light dish, if that's what you're feeling! Great friendly service which we appreciated. The pastries inside looked really good too. I'd love to try a bite of those, their mango guava pancakes, and poblano white chicken chili in the future.
You can never go wrong with having brunch in La Jolla. The atmosphere is nice and it's a small quaint corner restaurant. You can find parking on the street. I found 90 minute parking on a Thursday morning across the street. Bobby was our waiter and he did a great job accommodating us. My sister and I ordered the coffee dream. It's like an espresso martini. It was really good. Sweet coffee is always fun. We were seated outside. It was a beautiful day. My sister had mushroom omelet and I had the chicken pistachio pesto burrata sandwich. My meal was ok. It came with thin fries which was good enough. The bread was kind of stiff and the taste was bland. It was a decent sandwich but I probably should've just ordered breakfast. I might try the Carlsbad location next time.
They have a yelp waitlist which is perfect for planning your wait. We came on a Saturday morning and got seated immediately since we were at the top of the list. I ordered the salmon avocado bagel which comes deconstructed and it was great! The bagel was warm and perfectly toasted and portions were perfect for me. It was really nice to sit out on the patio - perfect weather and there are umbrellas that provide shade outside. Service was nice but a bit slow - they seemed like they might be understaffed and it was pretty busy at the restaurant.
I grew up in La Jolla, so I have been coming to this street for decades to dine and can honestly say Shorehouse Kitchen is one of my favorites, in terms of breakfast. We stopped in this morning for brunch and had a wonderful meal. We were a party of four and arrived around 9:30 and did not have to wait at all for a table. Inside is quite large they have outdoor and indoor seating available and many different table size options. Our server was polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. Parking this area is pretty easy, we were able to find a free street spot very close to the front door. I started off my breakfast with a Salted Caramel Latte and honestly loved it. Salted caramel is one of my favorite flavors so I was expecting to like it and was happy to see it was as good as I hoped. With that theme going I decided to get the Salted Caramel Waffle and also really liked it. It was a thin waffle, not one of the fluffy Belgian types, but more so the type at a Waffle House. My waiter advised me that it wasn't very much in terms of size so I ordered a side of scrambled eggs and cheese and thought it was a nice addition and felt it was a good size for one person. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and I plan to be back again in the near future.
While Le jolle is not necessarily the place to go for food, this is the exception. We ended up getting a bloody marry and veggie benidict and both were great. In fact the bloody marry inspired us to start making them at home so we got the stuff for it right after. The benidict had a nice mix that even included a pistatio spread which worked well. The hash was probably the best hash I have had. A perfect ballance of crispy edges and tender insides. It all might be a bit pricy for breakfast but worth it. The atmosphere was nice but nothing crazy either. There was a decent amount of natural lighting and seating next to it which was nice. One of the small touches that I liked was the addition of a dog menu that they post on their front stand. The staff was friendly and had plenty of good recommendations. We lucked out on parking but It seems like normally pretty rough to find a spot. Overall a great place to grab breakfast.

Me and my family wanted breakfast and picked this place. I found them on yelp and decided to try the carnita chilaquiles with green sauce, my boyfriend decided to get a waffle and hashbrowns, my friends got eggs Benedict. The chilaquiles were good the sauce wasnt hot and it was a bit lemony. The carnitas were very hard and not really good, the jalapenos were bomb but not spicy, so if your looking for a spicy sause this is not for you. The waffles were fucking amazing. They look like a basic waffle but let me say it was the best one I've ever had forreal forreal. They have overhead heaters in the outside area that were nice. OH!!!!!!!! DONT forget to try their orange juice!!!!!! It was so delicious I promise!!! I will be back for the waffles and orange juice forsure!!!!!!!! read more

This was my first time here and I just have to say it was a really great breakfast spot! Parking is almost non existent. However it's worth it to stop by this spot and have some eggs Benedict. Their coffee was delicious as well, I got the Breve. read more

While recovering from a day of kayaking out through head-high surf, my body needed a recovery meal and you know with the crazy parking situation I wasn't going far. - $15 to $20 per person - No parking - Only a few blocks from the beach - Elegant beach theme - Friendly staff Shorehouse had good looking menu with decent prices and pulled me in. It seems like one of those places offering 'healthy earthy alternatives' but they still have burgers and the like. I ordered the Crispy fish n fries ($12) that came with with perfectly crispy fish right out of the kitchen and small cut fries. This really hit the spot and wasn't really greasy like most fried plates. I took a nibble off my wife's Shore house burger ($12) that had sweet caramelized onions, really boosting the flavor. To me, this was more like an $8 burger. If you're interested in the Watermelon thyme ($7) it's less sweet then a mimosa but still slightly bitter. It's the consistency of water and doesn't have a ton of flavor. The Crispy Calamari ($8.50) stole the show during this meal. It was served with a thin crispy crumb exterior and a marinara sauce. If they would have tossed the calamari in some seasoning it would have been much better. Overall the visit here was just okay and as expected on the pricier side. If you're looking to relax by the beach you can't go wrong at Shorehouse. read more

Came to Shorehouse for brunch Sat morning. It was my second time here and I was craving the Shortrib hash (which was amazong last time!) After a 15 min wait we were seated in the outside patio. The ambience and brunch vibe was really nice... La Jolla sure loves its brunch! The shortrib hash was not up to parr the second time I ordered, which was disappointing. The shortrib was not seasoned enough and quite bland, and the potatoes could have been less soggy. My friend ordered the Vanilla French Toast, which looked amazing at first, but when we flipped it over it was burnt on the other side! We told the waiter straight away and she whisked it away. She brought out a new plate of french toast and apologized profusely. The french toast (non burnt one) was very fluffy and light, and the vanilla bean chantilly cream was delicious and not too sweet. One of the best french toasts i ever had! Note. When the waitress asked what bread i wanted with my hash, she didnt mention that the buscuit was 1.50 extra. That was super lame -.- Overall cute place and I initially liked this place a lot, but the food was not great this time around. The staff was very friendly and attentive which is why Im not dropping this to 3 stars. read more

Super cute place with indoor and outdoor seating, and very dog friendly!! Nice and attentive staff. And most importantly delicious food!!! Even my picky water nephews love the food here! I especially love the brioche breakfast grilled cheese and the caramelized tahitian vanilla bean french toast. Seriously, this place was so absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!! My husband and I went here Monday morning it was busy ( 30 min wait). But so worth it.! The staff was very friendly. Our server was great (her name escapes me :- ( ) I had the breakfast burrito which was to dieeee for. Very large portion and seriously on of the best tasting things ive had in a while! My husband loved his almond blackcherry smoothie and his blueberry lemon pancakes! We left full and satisfied! The location is great, we literally walked down to the beach during our wait because it was right there. Lots of cool shops around also. My next visit back to San Diego this will definitely be a must stop place! read more

Shorehouse kitchen is such a great place for brunch! Came on a Sunday morning around 11 and we were seated right away, out on the patio, which was so great. I got a salted caramel latte which was good but a little too strong for me. Between the three of us, my friends and I ordered a good variety of breakfast and lunch foods, all of which were so good. I loved their beach acai bowl, it came with yogurt which I really liked. Also their hash browns are PERFECT! It's a great place to go after a morning at the beach or maybe on a weekday if you want to get some work done on the patio. read more

Came here for brunch on a Sunday and we aimed to meet at 1030 which was perfect because the wait wasn't too long yet (prob ~20 minutes for 3 people). Parking-street parking so it might take a while to find parking and a lot of the street parking also has limitations (90 minute parking, etc) so make sure you read the signs! I actually really thought the location was very cute. It isn't really close to a lot of shops so I think that's why parking might be a bit easier. It looks like it's located in a neighborhood! Although it looks pretty small, they seem to have a good amount of tables. The pricing and portions here are pretty decent too which is very surprising for a location in La Jolla. However, I thought the service was a bit lacking. We were seated relatively quickly and our orders were taken pretty quickly but that was the last time we ever saw our waitress. We waited for almost 30-40 minutes for our food! I even asked our waitress if our order was put in because I noticed people that were seated after us were getting their food already. It would have been nice to have been updated that our food was on its way. The food itself was pretty delicious. I ordered the Short Rib Hash ($13.50) which comes with potatoes, eggs, and a side of toast of your choosing. I thought it was pretty delicious but honestly I would like to have seen a more proportionate balance between the actual short rib and the potatoes. It was pretty much all potatoes and eggs. It was tasty though. Also, they have dinner available on Wed-Sun (I think)! I have to admit I was a bit disappointed with the service here but other than that, I probably wouldn't mind trying something else on their menu, maybe even their dinner! read more

Came here on a sunny Sunday. We were told the wait would be 35 minutes but in reality it was only about 15. Not too bad at all considering the crowd formed outside. A nice place to eat outside and watch the people on their way to the La Jolla Shores. We started off with two of their salted caramel iced coffees at the recommendation of our server. Drinks were pretty unique. They come in wine glasses and arcoated in caramel syrup which looks pretty cool in the cup. The coffee itself was pretty standard ice coffee fare. Food: Crispy Parmesan Risotto & Honey Cured Bacon Benedict, Short Rib Hash & Eggs, Chocolate Chip Pancakes. First of all way too much food for two people, but whatever my eyes were hungry. Don't judge. The Benedict was the best of the bunch. The risotto cakes had a biscuit like consistency and were seared on both sides to add a bit of a cheesy crusted crunch. A nice touch. The bacon was sweet and savory. The hash browns were also good and had a very nice crunch on both sides. The béarnaise was alright. A good dish, but unfortunately just didn't have anything flavor wise that set it apart from any other Benedict dish I've had before. The Short Rib dish was actually pretty bland. Adding a touch of salt helped the situation, but really the meat was the best part of the dish and it was pretty one note. Tender and properly cooked yes, but flavorful? Not so much. The potatoes were ok as well. When I think of a hash I think of a mix of ingredients that all play on each other. This just tasted like already cooked meat that wasn't seasoned very well to start, combined with fried potatoes, and topped with a fried egg to call it a dish. Short rib hash sounds like a great idea, but the execution just wasn't there. The Pancakes were huge! They were pretty fluffy and the edges had a nice crunchy texture. The chocolate was proportionate throughout the pancake. Taken as a whole pretty decent, but nothing memorable. All in all, there was nothing bad about any of the food that we had, but there wasn't anything that great about it either. After writing a review I usually wish that Yelp had a half star rating because the food is usually in between two different stars, but not this time. In this case, the food was middle of the road and earned a 3 star rating without much thought. Service was great and our waitress was very attentive! read more
Definitely a 5-stars review! Food and service is good, definitely worth coming especially after our sea cave kayaking next door at Everyday California. Thai Chicken Salad: ~ One of the best salad I've had with generous portion of salad and the dressing is amazing, very unique that you can't get that dressing easily at other places. 10/10 Salmon and Bagel: ~ Salmon is thinly sliced but is pretty good. Portion is pretty small but overall taste is not bad. French Toast ~ Served with 4 pieces of french toast. Toast is good but could not better if it is not as soft and soggy but toast it more. Americano Coffee ~ Really good coffee, better than many other places. Poached eggs, cubed potatoes and English muffin: ~ Average, nothing fantastic to rave about. read more

Food was OK. Service was OK, my waitress didn't ask me how my omelette was (over cooked eggs and undercooked veggies) and did not clear dirty dishes after eating. But the coconut cortado was YUMMMM & patio is super cute. V loud restaurant as well but lots of good people watching. read more
After spending a morning kayaking in the Pacific Ocean, we were bordering on hangry and looking for a good place to eat. Shorehouse Kitchen was a perfect choice. The place is beautiful in a casual beachy way and the staff got us seated right away. Luckily they didn't care that we were slightly damp from the ocean. i ordered a chai tea latte and it was hands down, the BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. The only sad part is that I live in Michigan, or I would come here every single day for one. boyfriend had the eggs benedict and I had a blueberry stuffed waffle (the name they had for it was fancier). The presentation was amazing as well- my boyfriend's came with a biscuit and it even had it's own little jar of jam! I can't say enough good things about this place. We'll definitely be back the next time we are in San Diego. read more

What a great find! We visited for breakfast after reading reviews on Yelp. So glad we did! The food was very good. We had mango pancakes and the maple brûléed oats. We would definitely do both again, but with so many other great things on the menu it'll take a bit to cycle back to those. The staff was great, and very positive. Stopped in for a coffee but it looked so inviting we asked to be seated! We ordered a vanilla chai latte and a vanilla latte which came in big brown diner mugs. I really liked my chai latte but my companion said the vanilla latte was bitter. The beach bowl & vanilla French toast were delicious! We ate every last bite. The beach bowl was basically an acai bowl with yogurt granola and fruit. Love the outdoor patio! read more

I love that they serve coffee while you wait, especially since since it can be quite the wait. The eggs Benedict on the Parmesan risotto cake was delicious. I love benes that mix things up a bit. The breakfast potatoes were really good as well. While the watermelon thyme mimosa was ok, I wish they had bottomless mimosa options. read more

Is there on site Parking?
No. Street parking only, which can be frustrating in the summer. There's a free public parking lot at La Jolla Shores beach that's ~10 minute walk. Also, the #30 MTS bus stops one block from the restaurant. Parking tip: arrive for breakfast…
