What an amazing place for good food and great vibes in La Jolla Shore. Although parking can be tricky, it's well worth the effort for a great spot for fresh quality food. And it's delicious!!! Allie was our host and was able to find a great place to eat. All the tables are great with even an outside covered patio available. Jade our waitress was very friendly and nice. She was very patient and professional and listened to us in a kind way. With young ones with us, it is challenging. However, Jade ensured that we enjoyed our meal at the Shorehouse Kitchen. At brunch, my go to dish is the French toast that will tell me the quality and care from the kitchen. I was blown away at how delicious the French Toast was. The name is the "CARAMELIZED TAHITIAN VANILLA BEAN FRENCH TOAST with Fresh Blueberries or Bananas and Chantilly Cream, or a Grilled Pineapple". Jade gave away the secret ingredient to me and I was impressed. An applied Maillard reaction with brown sugar brought the French Toast a new level of yumminess. The Chantilly Cream took it over the top, not to sweet and very creamy. Yum!!! Also tried the "RASPBERRY TRUFFLE MOCHA St. George Vanilla Bean Vodka. Raspberry Liqueur, Callebaut Belgian Chocolate, Espresso, Steamed Milk, Chantilly Cream" . AMAZING!!! The Shorehouse Kitchen is a gem with fantastic food and service. Definitely a return visit call for the family!!!
We are always looking for a good brunch spot and Shorehouse will definitely be making it into our rotations. Honestly might have the best crispy breakfast potatoes I've had. The short rib potato cakes were also amazing. The mango and guava pancakes were great and was a nice twist to the usual flavors. I was not the biggest fan of the pork carnitas cornbread Benedict and would probably try something different next time--it was a little too bland and the texture too one dimensional. Overall, though, a very solid brunch spot in SD!
Came here on Friday for late breakfast after a hike. We were seated right away but the parking can be a challenge. Service was very friendly and attentive. I had tofu egg white frittata and decaf cappuccino. Food was pretty decent, but not great. Coffee was very mediocre. My husband had a cheeseburger and he enjoyed it. They have lots of standard breakfast options that you can order if you want that. They have some indoor and outdoor dining. And the vibe is kind of like a beach diner but probably a little better than that. So overall a pretty decent experience.
This is a cute little cafe to have brunch at. They have a variety of coffees, fresh pressed juices, and booze if you're in the mood. They have patio seating outside so you can soak in the sun, people watch, and enjoy a nice meal. I lovedddd the caramelized Tahitian vanilla French toast! It had a little crunch from the caramelization of the vanilla on the French toast. We added the strawberry, blueberry, and chantilly cream to it. Perfect blend of sweet, tangy, fluffy, with a little crunch. Definitely a good sweet treat to start the day. I got a spinach, Swiss cheese, bacon omelet. The hash browns were pretty good! Crunchy, salty, and went well with the eggs. I was hoping for more of a coffee flavor in the white mocha. They make the whipped cream from scratch. The mocha was mid. I would say this place is a lil over a 4 star place. The beach bowl is an açaí bowl on top of Greek yogurt. I thought it was a little too tangy for my taste. I think having either the yogurt or açaí bowl works better than mixing the two.
Came to shoreline kitchen during a quick san diego trip! We came on a saturday morning around 9:30 AM and there was no wait. Parking around is a bit hard to find, ultimately had to park a few blocks down. We got the maple chicken sandwich and an eggs benedict and both were really good. Service was 10/10
Food was amazing. Nice robust flavor from the béarnaise sauce on the Salmon Benedict. Waiter was very pleasant. He asked what kind of side of toast did I want with my Benedict, I responded with "oh? There's toast included? Maybe Rye?" And he said "oh no, my apologies, it doesn't come with toast". I must have had a really sad look on my face when I said "oh ok". because he said "you know what, I'll throw in a side of complimentary toast". Anyways, great little niche close to the ocean. Nice light cool breeze. Street Parking was easy to find
I came for brunch on a Thursday around 11:30 and the place was busy, but not overly packed so seating was quick. I got the Classic Benedict, with the Crispy Hash Browns, and though the hollandaise was delicious there were some problems with the texture of the English Muffin. One side (that came with an already punctured-ish egg) was really tough and hard to cut through. However, the other side was light and fluffy. Another part I wasn't a fan of was that their Canadian Bacon leaned on a thicker cut and a saltier side; but there was still a generous amount of slices. Service was great and were kind in making some modifications to the menu with the scramble. There was also not a long wait time for the food to come out. Ambience leans towards beachy with a nice outside patio and a cozy seating on the inside. Though I didn't fully enjoy the item I got, I would go again and try others of their classic brunch or lunch menu.
In the area for a wedding and stopped by this brunch place. It was phenomenal. We got the chicken sandwich and the spinach/mushroom omelette. Both flavors were amazing!! Service was also good. Recommend
Popular breakfast place with a comprehensive menu. There can be a wait, as the staff seems a bit overstretched. Unfortunately, the table we were seated at had a sticky surface that did not feel properly sanitized. The owner should consider replacing this type of furniture, as a clean and comfortable dining environment would make the experience much more pleasant for everyone.
It pains me to leave 3 stars but the service was SO slow. Maybe it was just this timing or being understaffed but it didn't seem busy when we arrived. The food was delicious and the service was slow. After our day date doing kayaking on Sunday morning (11am) across the street at EveryDay California, we saw Shorehouse across the street and the reviews looked good. We came in at 1pm on Sunday and quickly got a table. Thankfully we just had our party of 2. I did see the Yelp waitlist showed 17-30 min but we got right in and seated outside. We were quickly seated but I wish the rest of the experience would have been faster. Our server took our order after 10 min. FOOD- it took a while to get our food. 40 minutes after ordering and a guest that came after us got their food before us. -Monterey omelette - 8.5/10- my husband thought it was good with the chiles and made with quality bacon. -Egg white Mediterranean omelette- 8/10 - I liked that they offered healthy options. The omelette wasn't soaked in oil which was appreciated! -Caramelized Tahitian French toast 10/10 - I had a bite and this was delicious. We did have to ask for syrup though. Overall, this is a tasty place but maybe avoid sitting out front or going on a busy day.
Enjoyed a few hours at the beach. Asked a local where to get food was directed to the strip of restaurants. Fee options but when we stopped at Shorehouse Kitchen we knew we'd be happy with the choice as the person who greeted us was friendly and said "take your time". The roasted red pepper bisque had grilled cheese toast that was tasty and filling. The cucumber avocado sandwich with the seasoned fries complimented the soup perfectly. They also serve breakfast foods as well. Plenty of seating indoor, covered patio and on the street dining. Any seat is the right seat
We waited about an hour and a half, even after putting our name on the Yelp waitlist, but honestly, it ended up being worth it. The brunch was really good, and the service was great too. I would have given it 5 stars, but the upcharge to swap vodka for tequila in my Bloody Mary was kind of funny--and a little unnecessary. Still, I'd come back.
The food was delicious. The bacon and hashbrowns were crispy, the eggs weren't watery like some places can be. They had freshly squeezed orange juice. Service was fast and our waitress Jade was kind. We also got to sit outside and it was a beautiful day but their patio is also covered so you're not always exposed to the sun if you didn't want to be. I would absolutely drive an hour and a half back for breakfast

A nice little breakfast cafe nestled in the heart of La Jolla. The breakfast burrito was very unique and I enjoyed it very much. The tri-colored tortilla chips in the chilaquiles were also very good. Service was quick and easy. Very nice! read more
Came in for breakfast and thought the vibe was super cute and laid-back and the food was great. The biggest hack is their off menu breakfast burrito for $8 which is unheard of in La Jolla. Had eggs, bacon, potatoes, cheese and salsa. A little greasy but worth it. The service was friendly, coffee was great, and the patio seating was great for a perfect casual morning. Go early or be prepared to wait especially on weekends. read more
I was pleasant surprised after stumble upon this breakfast spot! Food was presented lovingly and tasted great all around! Esp loved the lavender and honey Cortado I ordered, although it could have been hotter. Service was average but again, everything I ordered was very pleasant and nice ambience inside. Great spot! Stopped in for some quick fuel before a surfing lesson. Had some banana walnut bread (warmed) and a mocha. Service was fantastic. Very helpful. They have a long list of mochas so was helpful to navigate the menu without feeling intimidated. They have indoor and outdoor seating. If chilly there are heaters so it doesn't strath from your experience. I'd definitely go back and explore other things on their menu. read more

My girlfriend and I decided to check this spot out in San Diego she wanted to go there which I get out The breakfast menu is out of sight all the stuff to choose from I got the blueberry pancakes eggs and bacon not fancy but the pancakes are on point really good like a burger with a big old egg on it I mean we're in between lunch and breakfast anyway so you had the two of the menus to choose from we sat outside where it was nice outside they also have inside seating I would suggest you make the reservation or save yourself in line online instead of waiting we were like 20 minutes away from the restaurant as soon as we got there it was time to eat because our spot was open so I really suggest to go to this place so if you want to San Diego La Jolla area check it out. read more

Benny's might just be my official breakfast love language. The moment I spotted the carnitas and poblano cornbread Benedict, it was an instant yes, please. The sweet cornbread paired with the salty pork and that silky hollandaise? Absolute harmony on a plate. Naturally, I gave it a good splash of hot sauce not because it needed the flavor, but because I'm a self-proclaimed spicy lady who can't resist turning up the heat. We also tried the chilaquiles, which came loaded with toppings. It was definitely filling, though I'm a crispy-chip fan, and the sauce made them lean a little softer than I'd prefer. Still tasty, just a personal preference. The restaurant itself has both indoor seating and two patios plenty of room to soak up the morning sunshine. My only gripe? Pesky flies. A few little table fans would've been a lifesaver to keep them away from my plate. On the plus side, the staff was lovely, and the crispy shredded potatoes that came with the Benedict were the unsung heroes of the meal. Perfectly golden, perfectly crunchy, and the best sidekick to my breakfast star. All in all, Benny's hit the spot, and we're already planning our next trip back. The spicy bloody Mary was delicious (and vegetarian!)! The veggie Benedict was also pretty good, and they were very thoughtful to divide it onto 2 plate for us to share. There are quite a few vegetarian options and they have hot sauce available. The doggie menu is one of the cutest touches I've ever seen a restaurant do. The service was quick and welcoming. The staff is very welcoming and seated us right away. Thankfully We didn't have a wait time. It is almost impossible to find a parking since La Jolla beach is walking distance from this restaurant. With that said, the location is perfect; however, for the food we ordered, I felt it was a little pricey. They don't offer a kids size waffle so we had to order a regular waffle which we ended up leaving because my child wasn't fond of the taste. The hash-browns were a little too soft and soggy to my liking. The blueberry/ banana pancakes were favorable and the rest of the food we ordered was ok too. The restrooms were extremely unkept. They have two restrooms and we tried both hoping the other was a little cleaner but we're disappointed. The staff and waitresses are extremely professional and attentive but the food wasn't what I expected. read more
I can't believe I haven't tried this place before. We went on a Wednesday afternoon in early February and there was plenty of parking and lots of outdoor seating for our pup Fergus. The patio is covered so you can bring your pooch here even in the rain!! The menu is extensive with plenty of breakfast and lunch options. They even have an adorable doggy menu. We ordered the chicken tarragon salad. a side ceaser salad, blueberry pancakes and a bacon bowl for Fergus! The chicken salad was huge, fresh and very well dressed. Definitely plenty here for two people to share. The caeser was tasty with fried capers and was also well dressed. The pancakes were not fluffy but i lined the thinness and the crispy bits on the ends. They were full of blueberries! So yummy. Fergus absolutely loves the generous bowl of bacon for only $3.5! Service was good and prices are reasonable for La Jolla. I wouldn't come in the summer since parking would be a nightmare but i highly recommend this place at all other times of the year. read more

Shorehouse Kitchen is absolutely bomb.com! From the moment we walked in on a Saturday morning, the atmosphere was cozy and a homely feeling. Definitely perfect for breakfast or brunch. Brook, our server, was amazing. She was friendly, attentive, and quick to offer great recommendations. Everything we ordered was heaven in our mouths! The salted caramel waffle with sausage was heavenly - the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The cornmeal pancakes with lemon and blueberries was light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. Their bacon was nice and crispy, side of eggs scrambled perfectly, and their sourdough bread was nice and crunchy (just the way I like it!). The best thing, however, was their homemade caramel! It's hands down the best thing since sliced bread - warm, rich, smooth, and absolutely addictive. I would order bottle to go if they sold it (I asked but they only make small fresh batches daily. Not enough to sell by the bottle). If you are in San Diego and looking for a fantastic brunch spot, Shorehouse Kitchen should be at the top of your list. Added our name to the wait list online and I thought this was a great way to accommodate parties in advance. I can see the virtual que HOWEVER- I did not check the automated message you get when adding your name. The text that says see host when arrive, waited for 30 minutes and just decided to check in with the front to make sure that the list syncs with the people coming in physically to get on the list. The hostess tells me "thank you for checking in, now you are on the waitlist." ..... I told her that I have been on the yelp que screen and it doesn't say to check in at the front and she said that she was sorry- she will do her best to accommodate us. Hostess was very nice about the situation but I feel that yelp should have a check in with host upon arrival message as well because now it just doesn't make sense to add your name before to the waitlist if you get added to the waitlist once you check in. Our server was Greigh. She did an awesome job checking in on us, refilling our waters. I told her about the condensation from the AC falling on me during the meal and she was so nice about it. My husband got the sausage breakfast burrito(not on the menu) as well as the strawberry peach smoothie. He liked his breakfast his only criticism was that the burrito was a bit on the smaller side. I got the short rib on the potato cakes and eggs over medium with sourdough bread and I am so happy that I did! The meat was melt in your mouth, the potato cakes were crispy and it was well balanced with my blueberry, banana, added açaí smoothie. read more

A solid brunch spot in La Jolla! Came here for Sunday brunch and made sure to join the Yelp waitlist beforehand so we were seated pretty quickly when we arrived. Just make sure to account for time to find parking because theres only street parking so we parked in the neighborhood and walked over. Once our table was ready we were seated outside, and I really liked the outdoor atmosphere because it was nice and shady but still had lots of natural lighting! The chicken pesto burrata sandwich was alright, but the maple chicken sandwich was delicious and memorable! My friends really enjoyed the dark chocolate mocha and my iced vanilla latte was perfectly made! I'd come back here so I can try their chilaquiles. read more

Pork Carnitas chilaquiles ; spicy, flavorful, got with avocado Blueberry Pancakes ; I could've started floating in the middle of the restaurant, the most soft pancakes I've had in my life, and syrup is otherworldly, it's not too sweet and has a buttery taste?!!? And menu mentioned it was cause they use 100% real Vermont maple syrup. As a California girl I was floored. I don't think I'll never not think of these pancakes. Plenty of seating, good food, good service We came on saturday morning at 9 and there were plenty of tables. We ordered: a strawberry smoothie, standard coffee, dirty chai, chilaquiles, rib and hash, mango pancake with guava sauce, and eggs/toast+side, avocado toast with tomato (their special for the day) Our favorites: chilaquiles, rib and hash, and mango pancake w guava sauce Avocado toast was sub-par, as the tomato separated the avocado from the toast. I think the tomato prevented the avocado from combining with the toast, so it tasted more like a dry piece of bread with layers of vegetable. The rib was really tender and played well with the hash and the cholula. The pancake for me was not exactly what I expected. It was more like a plain pancake topped with mangos and guava sauce instead of a mango flavored pancake. It is too dry to stand alone without syrup. The others still enjoyed it though! Located in a small cul-de-sac of restaurant and shops. 3 min walk to one part of La Jolla beach. There is street parking. You can sit down and order or you can order at the counter to go. We opt for the counter to go. Salted Carmel Mocha paired well with our banana bread and chocolate muffin top. To my surprise, the $8 breakfast burrito was BOMB! It was a decent size filled with hash browns, eggs, bacon, cheese, and the best part the Poblano peppers. The peppers didn't make the burrito spicy atall. If we wanted to dine in, the breakfast menu looked to have a lot of great options. We will try again! read more

Shorehouse Kitchen never disappoints! They have such a friendly staff, every time I have eaten here it's been nothing short of a great time! Their food comes out fresh and cooked to perfection. Their hash browns come out perfectly crispy, and the maple glazed chicken sandwich is a must have. If you're sharing anything, they even plate it separately for you ahead of time which is so nice. I live all their coffees, a fruit bowls, and smoothies as well. Sadly this was the only picture I got because we all dug in so fast!! read more
I have been here a few times and every time has been really good. I have been here for brunch and depending on the day the wait can be kind of long so I recommend getting there early and then walking around and looking at the cute shops. I got the eggs Benedict (which are always my go to) and they were delicious and one of their coffees with a cute design! My friends also got an eggs Benedict without meat and a salad. They have plenty of seating. They have indoor and outdoor. Definitely a cute vibe! read more

First and foremost if you're looking for a boozy brunch place THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! I got the St George Ibarra Mocha and it is one of the strongest drinks I've had. Don't get me wrong it was absolutely delicious, but very much unexpected because it comes in a tall glass. I got the wild mushroom and spinach omelette with sourdough bread and crispy hash browns. Usually I would say I chose carb heavy sides but it helped soaked up the alcohol lol. The waiter was nice and checked in every so often. Although they did get my partner's side order wrong... It's a charming place and looks like it would be a cute boozy brunch spot, especially since it's close to the beach to take a walk afterwards! Cute breakfast spot in La Jolla with ample indoor and outdoor seating. Our server was very sweet and attentive. I had the Pork Carnitas Chilaquiles Which had 2 eggs, spicy tomatillo sauce, or spicy red sauce, red bell peppers, onions, queso fresco, sour cream, fried jalapeno I took off the sour cream and onions the meal was very flavorful and filling I only had about half my meal but it was excellent. My husband had the Angus Short Rib & Hash Brown Potato Cakes which was Cabernet braised Angus beef with eggs and your choice of toast he loved his meal as well. The cooking is fine and the seaside convenient, though some of the concepts don't quite work. The mango-guava pancakes are fluffy, centimeter-thick goodness; diced mango is scattered on top and in the pancakes themselves. The former is good but not much the latter. The pancaked mangos are firm, which I don't think is the textural difference I'm looking for. The granola on top, though, is a nice touch in that respect. The guava syrup is very subtle. When the pancakes require butter and maple syrup (not at all viscous), the guava is completely overwhelmed. The benedicts are fine, though the cornbread base gets soggy quickly and the carnitas aren't as tender as is optimal; it's astonishingly easier to cut along the grain here. The potatoes are a bit under-salted, though otherwise well-seasoned and paired. read more

Food was great! The portion size was on the smaller side though. The place has a nice feel to it. Service was not the best however, likely because the place was so busy and they were running around. I got the Monterrey omelette with sourdough bread. It was cooked perfectly and the flavors blended well. I got it with sourdough bread which was toasted and buttered. The hash browns were crispy as advertised. It was a great dish and left me wanting more. read more

Is there on site Parking?
No. Street parking only, which can be frustrating in the summer. There's a free public parking lot at La Jolla Shores beach that's ~10 minute walk. Also, the #30 MTS bus stops one block from the restaurant. Parking tip: arrive for breakfast…
