Update: after posting this review they reached out, scheduled an improvement, and sent a really cool guy out. They removed the yellow caulk and updated with the good stuff. Things look really nice again. The materials are nice, with a glaring caveat: they used clear caulk which is known to turn yellow. You can't clean enough to fix it, it's in the call itself. No idea when a company the these prices chooses to use cheap caulk. The other issue I have is pressured seeking. I was told by their salesman the price was good for 24 hours, after that it goes up again for 7 days. I'm pretty happy with my shower, but yellow caulk makes it look pretty trashy. It was that positive experience that led us to use them again for a master bath project: replacing a jacuzzi tub and standard tile shower with a large frameless glass shower and a soaker tub. The final outcome is a beautiful 5-star result we are thrilled with, but the journey to get there truly showcased this company's remarkable commitment to customer satisfaction. The initial design phase hit a snag. The salesman, while friendly and professional, inadvertently misinterpreted the specified overall tub dimensions as the tub basin dimensions, promising a "giant soaker tub". I fortunately photographed the initial drawing he provided of what we could expect. Of note, the official contract did not contain any drawing of the intended installation. When work began, the shower portion was completed beautifully, and the jacuzzi was demoed. However, during the initial tub installation, it became apparent the product was much smaller than anticipated and unlikely to meet our need for fitting two people. In addition to being smaller than expected, the installation left a significant amount of wasted space behind the tub that simply didn't make sense functionally or aesthetically. I escalated my concerns to the head of customer service, drawing attention to the discrepancy between the initial drawing and the installed product. After some changes to improve aesthetics, I was told this was the best they could do. I perhaps should have bailed on the job at that point, but stuck with the project because so much work was already complete. The final installation looked okay visually, but after using it once, it was clear the functionality just wasn't right for us. This is where Shugarman's truly impressed us. After the job was technically complete, I responded to their follow-up "evaluate how we did" email with a detailed explanation of our dissatisfaction with the tub's functionality and sizing. The very next day, a Shugarman family member called me. He stopped the request for final payment, came to our home to personally review the situation, and then made an incredible offer: a complete, no-charge redo of the entire tub portion of the job with a different configuration that would suit our needs. Shugarman's Bath tore out the recently completed tub work and re-installed a superior solution, not normally in their product line. The company demonstrated unparalleled integrity; the sizable final payment was not requested until we were completely happy with the revised job. The dedication to making sure their customers are happy is remarkable. One suggestion I have for improvement is incorporating a design drawing as part of the official contract, which would ensure everyone has the same visual understanding of the final product from the start. A shoutout to all of the Shugarman's Bath workers who were on site. They were consistently on time, pleasant, hardworking, and extraordinarily diligent about dust reduction and cleanup. Jorge did an amazing job demoing our old tiny shower and bathtub and installing a whole new shower, made it bigger and added a bench. His work is flawless. He takes his time and does everything right and the best part was he always asked us if we had any questions and let us know what he was doing during the entire process. To Jill, I owned and managed one of the biggest environmental firm in California for 35+ years. I understand all of the "back support" that needs to be included in the cost to the end user. BUT, 300% is crazy, and unfair. You charge the prospect for things they may never need i.e. mold remediation, removal and repair of dry rot, leaking plumbing etc... This is a second home for us and I have built and remodeled may bathrooms in my time. Other "bigger" companies charge a much less and use, in my opinion, better materials, warranty their work (like you), and provide a higher or more desirable resale bathroom, when selling the home. Just my opinion, which is what Yelp is all about. As you can tell, I will NOT be using your company, and suggest others do their homework before signing on to Shugarmans. read more

Chreen and Christian B. were just great when it came to the initial arrival to completion. Chreen is or was a trainer and though Christian was on his 2 job or day, I knew that having an experienced tech like her would benefit the job overall. There's no way than an experience trainer, would show any bad habits or shortcuts to a new employee. For someone who was in the field for 28 years, I can appreciate the fact that the workmanship and quality was their main focus. Kudos to both of them. I had a very disappointing experience with Shugarman's Bath. While the installation was done very quickly, in less than 1 day, it was rushed through and resulted in a poor experience. The pre-installation instructions said to have the shower curtain you'll be using available so they can put up the tension rode at the correct height and when the installer arrive, he and I had a specific conversation about the shower curtain where I confirmed that the one in the bathroom was the one I was going to be using for the new tub. The installers left several hours prior to when they told me they were going to be leaving so were not there when I got home and discovered that they had thrown away my shower curtain and left my front yard a mess, littered with shower curtain rings. I immediately alerted the company about the mistake and they said that my shower curtain had already been disposed of and they could not recover it and only offered me a $100 credit for replacing my shower curtain, liner, and rings, without any consideration given to the time and energy it would take me to replace them, nor the mess that the team had left behind. My bigger concern is what other mistakes they made while they were in a rush to leave my job early, more serious potential structural issues, which I guess I wont find out about until the new bath starts presenting outward issues. Even if there were no bigger mistakes made in the rush job, the poor handling of the issues I have already encountered means that I cannot recommend Shugarman's Bath to others looking for a bath remodel. read more

Our kids were at the Orange International Food Fair a month ago and talked with one of your reps. They had set up an appointment for Shugarman's Bath to come out and look at our downstairs bath and give us a quote. I was skeptical because we had two other companies come out a year ago and gave some outrageous quotes. When Campbell came out and talked with us, he was friendly and told us what your company could do for our shower. Honestly, I was still not sure. We decided to go for it, and SO glad we did! The workman showed up a week ago and started working on the demolition of the shower - Ivan ( I think that was his name ) and the other guy who was helping him were thoughtful and very aware of keeping the house clean while taking out the old shower. They ran into a problem - and were quick to let us know what we could do to fix it. ( Our house is about 30- 40 years old, and so we've noticed some strange build issues when working on upgrading this was one of them.) It had to do with getting an HVAC company out to help fix the problem. I believe Rudy was the guy that helped coordinate this for us. THANK YOU! Once that was done, Tony and Missael came back and finished the shower build. Your company went above and beyond to make this happen for us. We were in DIRE need of a new shower. Tony and Missael worked SO hard to get this shower installed, and we are ALL so happy and grateful! They have integrity and when they say what they are going to do, it gets done! I've had my new showers for about three weeks now, it should've been a month however I personally had scheduling conflicts at the last minute that force me move installation out another week. Shugarman was very flexible and worked with me without charging me for the delays. I appreciate Shugarman because the source of my scheduling conflict was not flexible! Well, finally they were able to come out, get my tubs ripped out, and my new showers installed. the full process took four days, two days per room, and they covered up virtually the entire inside of the house ensure nothing gets dirty or damaged. What really impressed me, was when we sat down with the salesman Adam, we had already walked through what we want and where we wanted it for each shower. The installers follow up with you again to ensure everything is still the same and the exact locations of things like the bars, seats, shelf, and the faucet were exactly where you wanted them. nevertheless in my case, they have to make it adjustment to one of the bathrooms due to a unexpected surprise behind the existing tub. There was a possible support beam... go figure! The nutshell is, they keep you involved in the entire process. I greatly appreciate this! So overall, I'm very pleased with my installation from the Adam that came out but didn't have peanut M&Ms in the Shugarman Bath can, to the phone assistant that had been working with me with my scheduling conflicts, to Missel, Tony, and my fellow Lemon Groving (Sorry, I forgot your name but I think it is, Vincent). Without a doubt, the quality of the showers themselves that bring new life to the 70 year old house. It is my pleasure to report on the two bathroom projects I just had completed by Shugarman's Bath. First of all, I have had bad experiences with low-budget contractors, and since I'd been waiting a long time for the right time to get my bathroom fixtures replaced (and suspected possible water damage underneath), I was looking for a good, very reliable company who would do a thorough job and who had great reviews. After much deliberation, I found Shugarman's, and I'm very glad I did. Damian, the representative who worked with me and gave me good ideas, was very thorough as he took measurements and provided me with an estimate and full details of what to expect as a Shugarman's client. Whereas I agreed to the estimate and paid the deposit, Shugarman's understood that, due to personal commitments, my project would be starting approximately 2 months after signing the contract, and they were willing to work with me. The projects were completed yesterday (May 6th), having started the paperwork in March, at my request. I honestly cannot say enough about the work crew of Shane, Michael and Jacob who did my two bathrooms. Bullet points: On the first day of the project I got a preparatory text letting me know they were on their way (and does that work for me?). On time. Genuinely courteous and respectful, in the very best sense. Explanation of everything they were going to do and what I could expect. Covered all furniture and bedding and laid out runners to protect floors. And as the demolition proceeded, showing me the wood underneath I was concerned about (not too bad, as it turned out). Thorough explanation of the repair of structures that would go into place in preparation for the next day's new shower installation and shower/tub installation. They cleaned up each afternoon, and covered things again the next morning. At each stage, I noticed a total confident, upbeat, professional, totally planned-out and capable attitude toward the work being done. No distracting phone calls. No indecision. No glitches. Just good solid professional work the way you'd want any project to go. If I had a question, it was answered straightaway and respectfully. Shugarman's has a great team in Shane, Michael and Jacob. I would not hesitate to ask for them again by name for any future work. I have a beautiful shower and shower tub, and I could not be happier. That was my honest experience. This is my first non-foodie post! I initially wanted to give Shugarman's Bath 5 stars but now that I'm staring at the work, I am seeing some imperfections. Before we get into that, I'm going to talk about my experience. Consultation: This was not a 15 minute consultation where a contractor comes in and provides you with an estimate. This is a sales person coming into your home with a 25 slide PowerPoint on an iPAD. I didn't expect this, but I did like how we went through everything from A-Z. The first estimate was out of my budget and we were able to adjust the material so it could fit within my budget. Ultimately, we did end up moving forward with a $1000 deposit for a brand new shower, bathtub renovation. Payment was easy. Scheduling was easy. They were very flexible as I had to change my date from December 4 to January 23. Their team reached out to my HOA to schedule a water shut off and notices were put on my neighbors door which I appreciated. All I was required to do was remove my belongings from the bathroom. Demo: The demo guy arrived at 7:40 which was 20 minutes earlier than scheduled but I did not mind. He covered all my floors, made sure that everything was covered and protected from debris and started demoing away. Unfortunately on the other side of the shower was a bookshelf to my living room, and from the demo two of my wedding photos fell, and the frames broke. I understand that this was a complete accident. He had said that he would reach out to his boss and someone would reach out to me to rectify the situation. I haven't heard from anyone yet. Overall demo was great. Installation: two guys arrived on time. very friendly, great customer service. They asked what were our preferences for the niche area, where we placed the shampoo and conditioner, along with showerhead, height, and shower, curtain rod height. They were very quick and efficiently with no issues. I was actually very impressed that this was getting done in two days like they originally estimated. Now that everyone has left and I've signed the paperwork, as I'm staring at my bathroom more closely, I see little imperfections here and there. Do they completely bother me? No. But I would like to think if you're paying $12,000 it would have been better without these imperfections. As far as customer service, Chuy, Misael and Dan provided a 10 out of 10. There was nothing different that I could have asked for when it came to their attitude, their hard work, the questions that they asked. my only complaint is the small details that I see now that everyone has left which I will post photos of. Overall 9 out of 10, four out of five stars. I would definitely book again, but next time I would slow down on their way out and really look at the work. it's hard to judge the work when they've been there all day working hard and nitpicking the tiny details. I think Shugarman's Bath should consider doing a walk-through the following day for any last-minute details or touches that way the customer has time to really review the work that was done. read more

This review is not about the work or pricing, we never got that far. Called after a Google search to the company to ask about complete bathroom remodel and was told they only do showers and baths. End of story. But then we received several calls to schedule an appointment with a consulant and when we said that the first rep insisted they specialize in renovating showers and baths, the person on the phone from the call center said oh they do full bathroom remodeling, so we booked an appointment. The consultant came out and started his canned presentation which only lasted approximately 15 minutes. He then went up to the first of two bathroooms and proceeded to measure the tub area. When asked about also replacing cabinets and lighting he said we only do the wet areas and no other work. I said, let's stop right there because we need someone for a complete bathroom remodel and were told that is what they do by the rep on the phone. He apologized and went on his way. We then called Shugarman company which of course gets you to a call center, and we asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor apologized and said they have 11 phone reps and that they need to make sure the training is more thorough on this matter. It seems that someone did not get the message and wanted their commission for setting an appoinment. This ended up in a waste of our time and an inconvenience. So if you want to consider this company make sure you are clear what they do and what they don't do. Bottom line, the ONLY do showers and tubs. read more
