This was really tasty Thai food. The mango sticky rice had really great flavor with perfectly sweet fresh mangos however this dish is seasonal only when they have the mangos. The Massaman and Panang curries were flavorful and this is perfect for vegans because they don't put fish sauce in these dishes. It was enough that we shared one entree between two people. Right her in Tampa. We ordered the drunken noodles and the green curry. The drunken weren't even drunk, they were under cooked and tasteless, and the pork was way over cooked. Went here while in town for the week. The location is great. Is right next to a beautiful theater and I enjoyed the decor. Wait staff was very attentive (maybe even overly so, but very kind). My friend and I had the fresh basil rolls and vegetable curry puffs as appetizer. Both were solid. The curry puffs are adorably small. Just know if you get them, they will not be filling lol. For my main I had the green curry (hot) with tofu. It's one of my favorite dishes and this satisfied the craving. Veggies were well but not over-cooked. Im looking forward to dining in. I was craving Thai so ordered in a pickup order. The service picking up the food was quick but parking was slightly difficult since it is downtown. Food: The lunch special comes with an egg roll which was a pleasant surprise. I LOVED the chicken drunken noodles and enjoyed the mix of vegetables. A guy brought me here for a 2nd date, I don't usually like Thai food but I got the softshell crab and it was delicious. The staff was nice and our food came quickly, always happy to discover another Asian-owned business to support! Hands down and chop sticks up, the BEST thai food in Tampa--we go to lots of Asian places, especially Thai and Si-am Thai is the most authentic, flavorful, and DELICIOUSLY fresh! Cozy little place. When you walk in the place is decorated in traditional Thai decor. The lighting is not super bright. Our group had 5 and we all enjoyed our dishes. The portions were perfect and prices were reasonable. Three of us ordered the drunken noodles and everyone cleaned their plates. The paid Thai needed more lime but that's easily remedied. When I say med spicy, you say Hahaha! It was so good! I had Pad Thai with chicken, husband had the Drunken Noodles with chicken. Both dishes were served hot and prompt. The medium heat was just below cleaning out your sinuses but still edible & enjoyable. They serve only beer, wine and sake-no cocktails. Had dinner here on a Saturday night before going to the Tampa Theater next door. The restaurant has been in business many years. The decor is beautiful and what I would expect. The place was packed, with a line out the door. We tried a few appetizers such as spring rolls and wonton soup. Then we had the chicken pad Thai. The food and service was very good, considering the place was so busy. There are some delicious looking desserts on a table menu, such as cheesecake filled spring rolls with raspberry sauce. Service and food delivery were a bit slow so keep that in mind if you are on a schedule. Lunch special arrived with some tasteless broth. I ordered pad see ew since drunken noodles was not on the menu when I visited. The added basil and steamed tofu plus the $2 broccoli addition made it tasty. Large portion and over all flavors seemed more authentic than some other local places such as Yummy Thai. Service is fast, efficient and courteous with Thai's touch ... hospitality .. I don't know I guess I speak Thai but I am pretty sure the servers are nice and accommodating for all customers based on what I saw their interactions with other customers. I ordered the drunken noodles. The noodles were very well done and very well seasoned. The noodles were nice and soft and the vegetables are nice and cooked. I came for the lunch special so I was also sort of the chicken soup and an eggroll. Eggroll was seasoned and crispy on the outside. The soup was kind of plain. It was just a straight chicken wrap with a couple grains of rice in it. I would rather have something else. The service was very fast. I got my food quickly. The service did not ask me what level is spice I wanted for my noodles so I didn't get to have any spice in my noodles. I was on a lunch break so I wasn't able to make any changes. It is otherwise a very nice restaurant. The decor is beautiful and really shows off Thai culture. When first entering the decor immediately stood out. I've never been to Thailand but based on pictures I've seen the decor was spot on. Delicious Thai food! Came during lunch during the work week and it was full. It is in downtown so parking can be difficult so I would probably walk if you're close. They have indoor seating and an outdoor front patio area as well. Every single thing that I ate was tasty. We frequent this place for lunch often. Decided to go for dinner. We walked in at 8:25pm. First thing the guy at the front says is you have to order as soon as you sit down because we close at 9. Our waitress was lovely and didn't make us feel rushed at all. The same guy who sat us hurriedly would bring out our order so fast, made us feel uncomfortable. Then at 8:50 he starts mopping the floor with strong bleach smell right by the tables where several people are still eating. Basically ruined our experience as now I'm smelling bleach while I'm trying to eat. That's not how your treat paying customers. Just because the kitchen closes at 9, you should have common courtesy to wait for customers to leave before mopping floors with bleach! Only reason I gave three starts is because the food was good. read more

The food at Si-Am is ALWAYS delicious. We often have dinner here before a Straz performance because it is convenient and so good. We're very predictable, typically ordering Red Curry Duck & Mussaman Shrimp with a gyoza apperizer. The portions are perfect and the dishes are carefully & consistently prepared. Our only complaint is that one of the waiters always seems irritated to seat and/or wait on us. We thought it was just us, but we recently heard the same sentiment from other patrons. We love the restaurant and will continue to dine there, but we're always happier when greeted (and recognized) by the female staff. read more
