Came here for lunch and experienced great service and delicious food. Originally planned on ordering the shrimp and crab Cobb salad I previewed online but upon being seated was shown the smoked brisket menu. Ordered the smoky brisket tacos and was not disappointed. They were prepared perfectly and the flavors from the brisket, avocado aioli and red sauce paired deliciously. After devouring my tacos my bestie insisted I get the Cobb salad to go since I really wanted it, so I did. I ate the salad at home for dinner and it hit the spot. Crab good flavor, shrimp big and succulent, fresh whole leaf romaine, fresh sliced avocado and perfectly boiled egg thinly sliced. That salad was on point delicious and extremely fresh. Located in the heart of downtown pleasanton. The restaurant has their own designated parking area if you follow your gps to the restaurant. I went during dinner time on a Sunday night and parking was easy to find and had plenty of parking. The restaurant was moderately busy but service was still quick. We were seated within a few minutes of waiting and our order was taken pretty quickly. We ordered: avocado eggrolls, tator todds, sidetrack burger with salad, and texas bbq burger with sweet potato fries. We ordered the burgers cut in half because when my husband and i go out to eat, we like to share our entrees. Our appetizers of avocado eggrolls and tater todds came out first. The avocado egg rolls were good. It has a chewy outside with an inside filling full of guac. It tastes exactly how it sounds. It came in a yummy cilantro dipping sauce. Solid appetizer. The tater todds as a separate order was huge! They came out nice and crispy. The todds tasted like it was topped with an old bay type of seasoning and it was great! Our main entrees came out and to our surprise, not only did they cut the burgers in half, they split the salad and sweet potato fries for us. We didn't ask for that but it was a great accommodation. Nothing we've ever seen before. The sidetrack burger was juicy and delicious. You can taste the quality of the waygu. The Texas BBQ burger reminded me of Hawaii with the pineapple flavor of the pulled pork on top. The sweet potato fries were crispy and the lemon aioli sauce was a good pairing. Great Spot in Pleasanton right off Main Street. They serve Brisket on Saturdays and it was really good. I had the brisket sandwich with coleslaw and a side of sweet potato fries. Our party of 24 guests and letting us do a pre dinner mockup to make it perfect was beyond gracious. Everyone that attended were all saying how wonderful Sidetrack is and the Birthday party was perfect in every way. You have a hidden gem located in Downtown Pleasanton and for all that read my Yelp you need make it your next stop for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner. The only negative thing I can say about Sidetrack is you are closed on Tuesdays. From the moment we walked in with our 85 year old Birthday girl the attending party started to sing Happy Birthday. What amazed me upon looking around the entire Bar+ Grill was singing and I was so overwhelmed to see the owners and the staff all joined in what a special place. OMG we ordered French fries for our party of 24 and I have to say you serve the best tasting French fries in the tri- valley. They were so good we were asked to order a second round for our party. We held a corporate team event here tonight for 20 people and have nothing but good things to say about the food, service, and ambiance. Todd, the owner took great care of us from planning through execution of our event. He communicated well throughout the planning and back and forth. He helped craft the menu so our team didn't have to worry about what to order, ensuring we had something for everyone. And lastly, he also ensured we stayed within our budget for beverages, giving us updates on our tab along the way which the team greatly appreciated. We sat at one of the outdoor side patios which was so nice: well laid-out, clean, spacious, and allowed for all of us to enjoy the warm evening. We came to Sidetrack a few Saturday's ago. We had a reservation for 6 pm. We got sat right when we got there. The service was excellent. We got drinks and buffalo wings to start. Then I had a wedge salad add shrimp, it was good. My buddy had a philly that looked really good. They have a nice family atmosphere here. They even brought my wife dessert and sang to her for her birthday! I'd recommend trying this place out. read more

We came here on a Sunday lunch with fambam and enjoyed ourselves. The have plenty seating outside on their patio & inside. We got a table outside close to a heater as it was cold. The staff here are nice but the service is on the slower side and so be ready to wait for your food when you order. We got the Cubano, kb's chicken sandy, kids burger and chicken tacos...all of them were just fabulous. The ingredients in all items were fresh and high quality. We had the Hofbrau Oktoberfest, the Fort Point Kellerbeir, and the Guinness Stout. This is what we had for mains: 1. Manhattan Corned Beef Sandwich with Tater Todds. The sandwich and fries were very tasty. Perfectly done sandwich. I was a little disappointed with the Tater Todds. I thought if I subbed these for the regular french fries that I would get a side-sized serving of what they have as appetizer. What I got was tater tots with a sauce. Tater tots were nice and crispy though. 2. Brooklyn Style Hot Pastrami with fries. Very good. 3. Cubano with Sweet Potato Fries. Also very good. We split a bread pudding dessert. This was good. Both of these stars are for the Cobb salad. If they didn't have the Cobb salad, they would get 1 star. The service is pretty bad. They had 8 different servers and yet, we had to wait for our check and ask around for our server. They're all watching football or talking about something from over the weekend. As soon as we got the check, we put our card in and then waited for someone to come back. We had to grab another person (again) for our server to come so we could finish paying. Also, I'm a huge Doja Cat fan, but she is absolutely not appropriate for a family restaurant. "Need to Know" was playing while small children were eating. I don't even have kids and it made me uncomfortable. Look up the lyrics and you'll get what I'm saying. Owners, please consider more oversight of your servers and staff. read more

I was invited by a friend to join him for a get together . The food was good but not great. The cauliflower wings were delicious it slight sweeter than what I care for. The Ceviche was also overly tomatoey and sweet as though ketchup was added. The tacos were ordinary to the eye since I didn't taste them. Lastly the service, was slow and consistent. Went here with a girlfriend for a catch-up dinner and drinks with our 2 dogs. Patio even had water bowls for them. Drinks were delish and, while pricey, definitely contained the liquor advertised. We had the salmon-topped salad which I highly recommend - the type of item you want to figure out how to recreate at home- and the portobello burger and tots. Tots were crispy and still fluffy but the burger was just good, I.e. tasty but not the type of thing you come back for. Staff was friendly and everything moved pretty quickly. Some creepy customers out front called us "beautiful" in the way men 30 years older than you do, but that's not Sidetrack's fault. Location is great so will probably be back. read more

I've been here twice now and I would definitely go back! I didn't try the Scoozzi (I don't eat cheese) but my boyfriend really liked it and it seems to be a popular dish. The buffalo wings were good! Crispy Chicken Sandwich was excellent, a very crave-able sandwich (enough to make two meals for me). The location is great, right off Main Street in downtown Pleasanton. My only complaint is I haven't had the best luck with drinks (I thought my wine was over-priced and a stingy pour, and my friend's mimosa was all juice). My wife and I had dinner here with our friends a few weeks back. It was our first time here.Very solid experience. Our server was very friendly and quick with everything. Drinks: Our table ordered beers, a sangria, and a glass of champagne. Really good selection of draft beers. I had an IPA from Fort Point followed by an IPA from Fieldwork. The cocktails on the list were pricey. I guess cocktails being priced at 10 dollars and up are the new norm. Cost of labor is very high so I get it. Just miss the days when you could get a mixed drink for a reasonable price. Food: Started with an order of Wings with the Buffalo sauce. Very good. I had their standard burger with pepper jack cheese and tater tots. Good burger. My wife also ordered a burger. They offer a gluten free bun and their fries are gluten free which was great as my wife can't have gluten. Well done Side Track. Our friends ordered one of their burgers and tacos. Everyone enjoyed their food. Final Thoughts: Cool Place. Cool atmosphere. My only even somewhat negative thought is the menu has a very lunch feel. Just burgers, sandwiches, apps etc. They have a few large plate entrees but that's it. Maybe add a steak special or rib special a few times a week? This is just personal preference. Came here with a few of my girl friends before we headed out to the city. We stopped to get brunch as many other restaurants in the area had a really long wait. They were seated quickly as I arrived a it later. The girls ordered the avocado toast and salad while I ordered the longanisa sausage eggs Benedict. Everything was cooked to perfection and was really tasty! my dish had the perfect mixture of spices served with tater tots, corn, toast, and asparagus! Not to mention the sausage was great! They gave me so much I was able to share it with my girls and we all got a slice of it! They all loved it and we loved this spot! I hope to come back here again real soon! This is a great downtown Pleasanton staple! It's nice to go somewhere with a variety of food and drink options, where everyone you're with can find something they like. I love their poke dish, and I normally don't get poke if it's not at a good sushi restaurant, but theirs is always sushi-grade, and with the avo, jalapeno, wontons and teriyaki, it's so delish and filling. I also love the Tulancingo tacos, and they make some of the best burgers in town. Several different friends swear by the Veronica salad. Plus the staff are really friendly and it always gives me the hometown feels. I also know the owner gives back to the community, and I think we need more of that these days. read more

My Pleasanton Facebook ladies group has chosen Sidetrack several times for our monthly birthday happy hours - We went recently and as always it did not disappoint. The server was very accommodating to us - the cocktails were wonderful and unique and the food was delicious. My husband and I frequently have lunch here as well - love their Kentucky Cobb Salad and grilled sandwiches. Great that there is a lot of outside seating or inside, depending on the weather - Love outside because we can bring our furry child - During the pandemic it was a regular take out restaurant for us. I was alerted by my Chiropractor about the opening of Sidetrack Bar & Grill. The owner use to own one of my favorite Steakhouse in San Ramon years ago called Big Horn Grill. Sidetrack is located in downtown Pleasanton. The decor is simple with four TVs and a bar. The parking lot is small and cramped with only one narrow driveway in and out. I was seated right away and ordered the Almond wood Bacon Burger $15 with garlic fries. There was a $1 up charge for the garlic fries. The burger had sharp cheddar cheese, sautéed mushrooms, grilled onions and lots of thick cut bacon. The garlic fries were just ok and looked liked there was some minced garlic just dropped on top. Not tossed, no parsley. The service was warm and inviting. The manager along with the server checked up on my meal. Parking might be a problem at peak hours. The burger was very good and I'll be back to try some of the other items. read more

We came here with my family because it was already 9pm and we haven't had dinner. There were great reviews on Yelp and I heard my brother talking about wanting to try this place so I went and beat him to it. The location is great. It's in Downtown Pleasanton off the main strip (like I guess what it was originally named). It looks inviting from the outside. Looks like a great place to hang out with friends for drinks and apps. The service was also great. They greeted us immediately, sat us right away, and the waiter always checked on us. The menu is your typical American bar menu: burgers, sandwiches, small fried bites, salads... Nothing really caught my eye that I had to try. They have about 10 beers on tap and a few specialty cocktails. So why did I give it 3 stars? Food and drinks just seemed okay. Ordinary. First we ordered drinks: My husband inquired about IPAs and ordered the Elysian Space Dust (Imperial IPA). He got Ace Space Cider instead. Honest mistake. Waiter brought him the correct beer and gave the cider on the house (which by the way was delicious and refreshing - It's pineapple.) I ordered the Peachy Keen (­Tito's Handmade Vodka, Mathilde Peche, Lemon, Ace Space Cider). I was really looking forward to this drink thinking it was going to be something similar to a Moscow Mule. It wasn't. It wasn't peachy enough and it was too sour and bitter. I didn't finish it. For appetizers, we ordered the Avocado Eggrolls with cilantro dipping sauce. This is basically guacamole wrapped in wonton wrapper then fried. It needed salt. Something was missing. We also ordered Fresh Chicken Wings (never frozen!) with Cajun Dry Rub. They were okay. The name is confusing because "fresh" made me think that it's raw vs fried. And "Cajun" makes me think they would be spicy. These were not spicy at all. No kick. For dinner we ordered: SIDETRACK BURGER (lettuce, tomato, pickle, our tangy sauce with provolone and grilled onions) -- Decent burger. They use wagyu beef. BROOKLYN STYLE HOT PASTRAMI (with wasabi cole slaw, sweet yellow mustard on light rye bread) -- Tasty and delicious. Wish the bread was toasted or more substantial to handle the juices and sauces. CRISPY CHICKEN SANDWICH (with cherry jerk sauce) -- Chicken was definitely crispy and tasted like any regular crispy chicken sandwich. I was looking forward to the jerk sauce. There was a thin layer on the top bun but I couldn't taste anything but a little sweetness. Tasted like sweet cherry sauce. Again, "jerk" should have spice or a kick to it. KID'S BURGER (American Wagyu beef with lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard & pickles - Cheddar cheese - extra $). Kids said it was okay. Tastes like a burger. Not sure if I'll be back. Food was good, service somewhat slow but helpful, Would not stop me from going back or recommending. We had lunch there after they had been open a month or so, The cauliflower florets with sweet chili sauce is a must it was that good ($9) my portobello vegan burger was delicious as were my fries, but very small portions($14) $1 for upcharge to garlic, sweet potato or $2 for onion rings. Hubby chose the corned beef sandwich, he added the garlic fries($17) and an 805 beer($7 16oz) he was in heaven, loved the food. But, The portion size was small. They could put more fries on the plate to make a better presentation... Also a little pricey for a burger joint! They may feel it's restuarant, not just a burger joint... It's not! Came in with our party of 5 this afternoon. It was ok. We ordered crab cakes that were dry and came with zero sauce. Just two cakes on a plate. Odd. We ordered a cold crab sandwich and a hot crab sandwich and they both came out hot. We didn't complain because service was already a bit slow and we just wanted to move on. Decided to give this place another shot and I'm so glad I did! Being a weekday, it was a different vibe than Saturday brunch. It was quiet and relaxing. My review after my first visit mentioned that my burger was salty but it must have been a one-off because I ordered the same thing today and it was perfect. The garlic fries were even better than I remembered. We also tried the loaded tots. Really good! The cheesesteak sandwich was also good. It's a slightly sophisticated version of a Philly.
