The breakfast burrito ("Walk it Off") was really tasty. Unfortunately they only serve breakfast until 10:30am, which is just silly. I have had lunch here 3 times and haven't been happy with any of the food - the theme here just seems to be lack of seasoning. The Philly cheesesteak, burger, and tri-tip tacos were all very bland and needed lots of sauce. I have also had the Thai chicken salad and another salad with chicken, and both were very under-dressed and just really boring. The tots are good, but they're frozen tots, so that's a pretty low bar. I feel like management could make some small, easy tweaks to make the food better, but as of right now I just miss Alphys. read more

I took my mom here for lunch and we both left saying that it was one of the BEST lunches we have ever had! We ordered the Ranchero Salad with tri tip and the Chicken Sandwich. They were kind enough to split them both at no extra charge. The salad was huge, and all of the ingredients were extremely fresh. Plenty of tri tip on the salad, and they didn't drown it in dressing...perfect! The sandwich was delicious and filling....the topping were delicious and so was the bread. The bread tasted home made. Fresh, freshly made food with exceptional choices that include super healthy/vegetarian to a superb Reuben and perfect fries. We had The Cinnamon Swirl French Toast. Delicious, thick and cooked all the way through (which is hard to do!). Served with powdered sugar and maple syrup. I love standing behind local businesses, however I will no longer be a patron of this establishment. Unfortunately the food quality and customer service has gone dramatically downhill. I have been coming here for years for lunch. Previously this was called Alphies and was at a much higher caliber for both food and customer service back then. Since switching owners and changing their name to Sidewalk Cafe, both have deteriorated sadly. They attempted to keep the menu the same, so my family continued to get lunch there even when we saw the decline in quality. Just recently we had seen it get even worse, with orders being messed up. Today was the final straw and it is so unfortunate to see a business handle challenging situations poorly. When I arrived for curbside pickup I pulled in and called them on the phone to let them know I arrived. When they picked up they asked me to hold. Anyone that calls into place orders know that being placed on hold is a regular thing. Most times you can't even reach them as they have no voicemail set up or multi line calling capability either. Recently I have seen extended hold where they just forget to pick back up and you just have to hang up. After 10+ minutes of being on hold this day I just decided to go in. When I walked in their was not a customer in the store. Everyone was just cleaning up. It was apparent that they forgot they had a call on hold. I told them that I was their for curbside pick up and was parked out front. I also showed them that I was on hold on their phone too. No apologies, and he actually got defensive. So unfortunate because this would have been a great opportunity to make it right. Of course when I arrived home the food was cold. Soggy sandwich and warm fries. I called and spoke to the person (I believe the owner actually) and asked if he remembered the situation from about 20 minutes ago. More defensiveness. He refused to do anything and all I wanted was the food remade. Because I had called in previously in the summer when they messed up an order I placed, he was quite rude saying that "looks like we can't get any of your orders right." Wow. Restaurants and people are not perfect. That is OK. It is how you deal with challenges that make you rise or fall. My family and I have been pulling for this business to turn it around. And after today's poor meal and experience, I can no longer recommend this business. I truly hope someday they are able to make a change and bring this restaurant back to the quality that Alphies has been known for over the years. read more

Came to visit my grandma at the cemetery close by. My brother and I had a cheddar burger and a carnita burrito. A truly satisfying meal! The French fries are crispy and salty. The burger huge and fresh. Coleslaw was the perfect amount of sweet and fresh. Will come back here when I come visit grandma again :) read more

This is the first time I've eaten at the Sidewalk Cafe since it was taken over and used to be Alfy's. First off the tables are not clean and there are fishy crackers all over the floor outside. It would be nice if they wiped the table off between costumers. There wasn't anyone in line ahead of me and I ordered the Whaler sandwich. It took 15 minutes to receive my sandwich. It was good tasting sandwich but a small sandwich portion for $16.11. I expected to get a nice size sandwich but was disappointed. I'm not sure I will visit this restaurant again because of the wait and dirty tables and floors. I was here about 45 minutes and the crackers remain. Maybe they are waiting for the birds to swoop down and clean up? read more

Special of the day What a delicious wrap with grilled chicken and vegetables that was the special offered when I ate at the Sidewalk. The employees were very patient with me and answered questions regarding the wrap. We ate outside at an umbrella shaded table on a lovely sunny day. I loved this place when it was Alphy's Broiler. It is now the Sidewalk Cafe and the service is terrible. I've been five times and there has always been a very long wait for the food. My order has always been the Asian Chicken salad. I'm thinking it shouldn't be so hard or time-consuming to prepare. However, it has always taken at least 25-30 minutes to get it. Today, after waiting 25 minutes and watching others get their food, I inquired about it. The staff seemed mystified about my order. They were not helpful or nice about it. Finally, it was done and the staff member asked if I'd paid for it. Really? This is no way to treat customers. I am done with them. read more
