This restaurant/bar on Huffeine north of the mall in Bozeman has become our "Go To Place" when we travel to BZN mid-week. The menu is varied. The wait staff is great. The food never disappoints. The selection of drinks (beer on tap, cocktails, wines, etc) is varied and the bartenders are generous about giving you tasters if you are unsure. Our favorite menu items include their Reuben sandwich, the salmon dish, and the potstickers for appetizers. Last week when we stopped mid-week, we were told we'd have a 20-30 min. wait for a table, but we were seated in 10 minutes. Try this place out. The food here is great.. But the inconsistency with offering phone in orders or availability on door dash is a real pain in the a** for people that can't make it in. Additionally, I called in today just to place a small phone in order. The person answering said "sorry, we aren't doing phone in orders right now but you could come in and do take out.".... Yeah, let me bring my pissed off 2 yr old in, to wait 40min for our food.. Suggestion, just turn on the damn DoorDash option. I won't belabor it, the chicken fried steak was terrible. obviously a flaked, molded into a steak shape with a dusting of something that was supposed to be batter. Obviously premade, frozen and delivered from a restaurant food supplier. The gravy and veggies were good. Service was okay but totally impersonal. Sidewinders is HUGE and if I had to describe the vibe here, it'd be a mix between a bro-y sports bar and an Applebee's type joint. It is pretty loud, there are TVs everywhere, a lot of the staff appear to be college age, you get the idea. They have a pretty good selection on their menu of traditional and "newer" American food. The burgers and sandwiches seem to be the most popular, so I'd stick to those if you eat meat. I had the nashville hot fried chicken sandwich, which was pretty decent--bun got a bit soggy but the flavors were good. And it was sufficiently spicy, which I was happy about. One thing that this place really has going for it is the sweet potato fries...which are actually not regular fries but WAFFLE FRIES instead. If you've never had a sweet potato waffle fry I would highly recommend it. Overall, the food here is not necessarily anything to write home about, and the atmosphere is a bit overwhelming, but if you've got a large group or a family this wouldn't be a bad choice. Went here when the Moms picked us up from the airport. No wait, very nice on the inside. The pretzel was very tasty (though not big enough ‍), I didn't try the marinara because that was weird, but the cheese was super tasty! Sidewinders was recommended by my brother who lives in Bozeman. There was around a 45 minute wait for dinner so we put our phone number in and walked across the parking lot to The Market. It was really nice to walk in some shops while we waited. Before we got a table, I saw on yelp that the most recommended food was the chicken pot pie. Two people ordered the chicken pot pie and I have never seen two friends love a dish of food this much before....I mean like smiling and using two large spoons to eat it. I was happy they didn't run out of them by the time we ordered! I on the other hand got the Raptor pizza and Caesar salad. The giant slice of pizza was indeed very giant but it was also very good!! Everything started off great. Getting refills was a huge challenge. Getting waiter attention was difficult. Friend got the nachos after finishing her drink she asked for a water and it never came. First time here. Ordered side salad, which was quite warm, balsamic vinaigrette was bitter. Could not eat much of the salad. My main course was chicken fried chicken. This should have cream gravy (it was brown) the chicken was cooked properly but the gravy and the chicken were lukewarm. The garlic mashed potatoes were a bit warmer than above but way too much garlic. These all should be hot enough to see steam. True chicken fried chicken served with mashed potatoes shouldn't be served with garlic as it overwhelms the senses. Cream gravy makes it have the proper flavor. Our server waited until I was done with my salad before coming by to see if the salad was ok which I told him it was warm and bitter. He said I should have let him know but how could I, he was not around for 15 minutes. Same thing with our entrees, he waited quite some time before dropping by to see told it too was crap. My wife had pot stickers and luxury shrimp. She said they were both excellent. Her shrimp was definitely hotter than any of my food and it was a bit tastier than mine. A bit loud in here even for a Tuesday. May not come back. A bit pricey for the service I feel I received and the food that was just above mediocre. read more

Came here with my dad on the end of a lovely trip to town. We were looking for a quick bite before heading to the airport and stumbled upon Sidewinders. Walking in, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance but this was the end of anything pleasant. The menu looked great and seemed to be something to look forward to. We ordered a Cesar salad, chicken cesar wrap, truffle fries, and mashed potatoes. The food arrived within ten minutes which initially was something to look forward to but this proved to be disappointing. The wrap was filled with dry chicken and served alongside a lukewarm pile of mashed potatoes. We were also unable to find our server in an attempt to order more dressing to mediate the dry chicken. Salad was okay but not good. Fries were truly nasty, please note the difference between olive oil and truffle oil! These were soggy, cold, and inedible. Utterly disappointing. read more

LOVE sidewinders! Visited a few weeks back and had to go back for dinner for my bday! You must get the giant pretzel with mozzarella and pepperoni! We also got the onion soup ( amazing), the sweet potato fries (the best ive ever had) and the cowboy mac (the bite i tried of my husband's was super yummy and filled him up) i also got a chocolate pb milkshake, so good! The workers where really friendly and helpful even though they where busy and went out of the way to accommodate us and help us close out quickly when the baby got fussy! Highly recommend! We try to eat at Sidewinders in Bozeman at least twice a month sometimes more often. We're both retired so shoot for around 3 ish during the summer and a little earlier in the winter since we don't drive at night. Service is top notch and we have several servers that know meal choices before we sit down. When my wife orders her fries she says extra extra extra crispy and makes sure that's what the server writes down. She's convinced the kitchen knows it's her fries and always perfect. The armed forces motif is interesting the roaring fire during the winter is a nice touch. I think the people that work there are actually enjoying their job. read more

We are visiting the Montana area for the first time and Sidewinders did not disappoint in food, service or beer. Our service was prompt and efficient. I had an excellent Nitro Chai Milk Stout and we tried the French Onion soup and BBQ chicken nachos. After camping for 5 nights we were all hungry and ready to enjoy some strong cocktails and delicious food...not to mention be waited on. Luckily we got sat at a large both in Rio's section. He was an excellent, attentive, knowledgeable server and truly made our visit superb. We were impressed with his knowledge of the menu, he answered all of our questions and provided awesome recommendations. Before we knew it we had two appetizers, three entrees and two desserts along with two rounds of happy hour drinks on our table! A highlight of Rio's service was that each time he stopped by our table he was never rushing to leave and truly took the time to converse with us and share not only restaurant recommendations but his story. It made the experience of dining at Sidewinders very enjoyable. We especially enjoyed the stuffed pretzel - filled with pepperoni, gruyere, garlic & basil per Rio's recommendation and the Thai Caesar Brussel sprouts. The Chicken Pot Pie & the Bruce Lee-Roy fried chicken sandwich! Their beer list was extensive and we can't wait to come back for another visit on our next trip to Montana! Honestly have no idea why this place is so busy. It's like they dropped a TGIF, with even lower quality food, in the midst of our beautiful Montana. I order a dozen wings, first off only 11 wings came out, and when I tried to say something whoever I spoke to acted as if maybe I had eaten one and was lying.. Brussels we're insanely greasy.. even greasier than the pizza if you can believe that.. That said the service was mostly solid, aside from the wing thing. In general if I were in the area, I'd just drive somewhere else or just walk across the parking lot to Nordic where they actually take pride in their food. read more

In addition they had a permenant table set up for the POW'S and KIA's from all conflicts. It was both emotional and touching to see a business honor our vets.
