I don't usually leave negative feedback, especially since I realize many restaurants are struggling right now. I was with Josh when four of us were turned away before closing. I understand how it's difficult to find employees who want to work, especially near closing time, and I never want to be the one holding employees after hours. When they told us they were already closed, and then said they closed at 8:00, I was kind of shocked. After reading the response from the owners, I can now see where the employee's attitude comes from. We were definitely there before closing. In fact, Josh posted his review as we were sitting at our table at another restaurant. According to the time stamp, Sid's should've still been opened. We go out to eat frequently, but we won't be spending any of our money there. It makes sense why they went out of business with their first restaurant, my guess is they are working on strike two. Note to owners: Even if you don't agree with a review, posting a comment about how you can prove it's wrong (when there are multiple witnesses that can prove it's not) won't help your cause. Edit: "...our team was serving people all the way up through close per receipts." - response from owners when Josh claimed they refused service prior to closing. Sure sounds to me like making excuses and proving the customer wrong. The good news is, there are a dozen restaurants within walking distance and another one was more than happy to take our money, and seat us in time for Josh to write a review prior to the actual closing time of your restaurant. As a business owner, I would rather learn from the mistake, and train my employees (or perhaps myself) on the fine art of customer service. Excuses NEVER fix anything. Hopefully you figure it out before more people have the same negative experience we had. For the record, I was willing to just walk away and not come back. The negative review came after your arrogance in responding to Josh. Coupled with the way we were treated by your employees, I felt it merited me wasting my time to write a review. Final Update: If anyone wants to read the owners actual initial response, it's in their reply to Josh's post, and was the main reason I decided to rate them as well. I gave them an honest review from my perspective. I quoted word-for-word above (hopefully they don't edit it). AWESOME burgers. Seriously one of the best burgers I've had in Idaho. The dates were also SO GOOD. However...I probably won't be back because of the noise volume. I understand wanting to have a hip new restaurant, but as someone with sensory/auditory issues the music was just WAY too loud. I have no idea how the food is, as we never got the chance to try any of it. We went on my birthday because I had heard great things about Sid's Garage, but those didn't pan out for us. I, my wife, and our three kids went in, and it was almost full. We were told to find our own seats, which is not a problem. There were two small tables open, but there was a couple at a table between them. We asked a server if we could put those two tables together (there was plenty of room next to one of the tables), and were told no, we would have to wait. About 5 minutes later another party next to one of the open tables was leaving, and a busser immediately started cleaning off their table and pushed it next to an open table, and we thought that was for us. However, the server went behind us and took the next party and sat them at the table. We asked why we weren't sat there, as we were there first and had already asked about pushing tables together in that spot, and the server just shrugged, noticed people were leaving the bar, and told us we could sit there. There were only 4 seats open and 5 of us, so I stood next to my family. My wife looked at me, and I know that look. We didn't want to give any money to a business that would treat us like that, so we left. We went to Sid's Garage for what we were told was great food and great service. I can't review the food, but the service was zero stars. I really want to try one of their burgers, but they made it very clear that they didn't want our business. read more

Ok food and nice staff but won't go back. For a single hamburger it was $12 with no sides. The staff sat us and then made us get up and go back to the counter and order,go and get our own drinks. Went to sids tonight to try it out. Tried the Nashville hot chicken and it wasn't spicey to me. I'm always eating spicy food. Asked for Tabasco she brought out something in a little cup which I didn't think was spicy at first. It definitely creeped up on me & got hotter as I ate more of it. I've never experienced that with tobacco, not sure what it was but it made the sandwich better! Was expecting a chicken breast but it was chicken strips on a bun. Surprisingly it stayed together well. Didn't try the drinks but they have a good cider from Edge I really like. Everything has to ordered separately that's the only negative. This place has a really good atmosphere. You walk in the door and hear everyone yell "welcome". The people are friendly. And the fries are hands down the best fries I have ever had. We had a great experience at Sid's! The flash fried deviled eggs were delicious as were the truffle fries but the standouts were the burger (hangover) and shake (Kickstarter). Both were to die for! This place had a fun atmosphere and a refreshing twist on some of my favorite foods. My friends and I had a great time and the food was delicious. I look forward to visiting them again someday. I took off one star do to the fact that the music was a bit to laud which made it hard to hear everyone including the server and the food is pricey. I really enjoyed the Togo experience at SIDS. Ordered Nashville Hot Chicken and Steak House Burger with side of fries. The food was outstanding, with great flavors, large portions, quality and nice presentation. The staff was friendly, interactive and efficient. The owner was present and running the business with high standards. The place was super busy and well ran. Not hard to see why they have such a high rating. So flavorful and they were very accommodating with making my burger lettuce wrapped and gluten-free because I have celiac. Probably the best overall restaurant I've been to thus far (service/food/ambiance/attention to detail). We happened upon Sid's Garage when we were walking around The Villages at Meridian - and what a great find! The decor, the food, the staff, the music - everything was fantastic, right down to the naugahyde booth seat and the gas pump door handle. I had the seared ahi salad and my husband had the hangover burger. The salad was perfectly portioned, I rarely finish a salad but it was exactly the right amount. The egg on the burger was overeasy, which was pretty runny (yes, I know that's the way it's supposed to be) - the only criticism of that would be if the server had asked how he wanted his egg, since he forgot to mention it. The only other slight criticisms I would have are the lack of variety on the menu and the prices are pretty high, but the quality is excellent and it IS a burger place, so...still five stars. Be sure you get the candied jalapeno bacon - not too spicy, excellent flavor. Well done, folks! We're glad we ate local! read more

Finally made it to Sid's last night. Great place! The staff are awesome, and the food and atmosphere are fun and casual. We had a large group, and all the food ordered was excellent. I had to have to Southern Bell shake (which is a play on my favorite donut of Donut and Dog) and it was . It was my 9yr old nephew's birthday and his shake was served with a sparkler/flare in it, which he thought was super cool. The burgers are SO good. They blend their own, and their beef and most ingredients are local. And I love that the owner is there to chat with and welcome customers, just like he was with Donut and Dog, which I was so sad to see close, but when I realized Sid's was the same owner I was super stoked! Even better news...they are opening Donut and Dog again in another location, and I can't freaking wait! Definitely recommend going!
