Absolutely amazing! A 10/10 must try! I went to Siempre J.B. during lunch for my birthday, and they definitely made it special! From a birthday card on the table, to a wonderful delicious complimentary birthday dessert, to complimentary non alcoholic (we had to go back to work lol) drinks in champagne glasses to celebrate. The food was delicious, and they also went above and beyond for a guest in our party with a gluten allergy. Knowing that they couldn't eat the chips they brought out veggies for them so they could also enjoy the guacamole. I wanted to love it! Location: Siempre J.B. is located in a cute plaza with other businesses around the area. Parking: There is a parking garage along with street parking so parking should not at all be an issue. A pro is that this restaurant is located closest to the parking garage. Ambiance/Decor/Atmosphere: Beautiful! The decor is stunning and the seating is nice and comfy for parties of multiple sizes. I loved the music selection. Beverages: They have Saratoga sparkling water which was nice and I ordered the Melon non-alcoholic beverage. It was very tasty but very sweet in my opinion. I could not finish it because of the sweetness but it's great if you love a super sweet cantaloupe beverage. Another beverage that was suggested to us by our server is actually not on the menu but she spoke highly of it. This beverage included horchata, cinnamon, and a couple shots of espresso. It was very tasty but I would steer clear of the horchata beverage if you have a tolerance with milk. Service: The hostess was so friendly and we were seated right away. Our server and her assistant were also very nice. My only quarrel with the service was that it took quite a while for our beverages, guacamole, and food. This was to the point where I had to ask about the beverages, guacamole, and the food. It also took a while for our server to complete our transaction at the end of our dining experience to the point where I had to take the bill to a manager to get checked out. Maybe our server had too many tables to tend to at once, I am not sure but that side of the experience along with food and beverage times needs work. Food: The food was okay. The chips and salsa were honestly the star of the table. The chips were served nice and warm and perfectly crispy. The salsa was the perfect amount of heat for my taste. The guacamole was great, however, the seeds were a bit too much. Perhaps, asking for no seeds or seeds on the side may be an option as well. I ordered the lunch special, which came with an enchilada, taco, a chayote salad, and what seemed like half of half of a quesadilla (very small portion). It felt like I was having more of like "small bites" instead of a full size lunch. The enchilada arrived to the table dry and lacked in flavor. The enchilada also arrived with chicken tinga which was not mentioned at all on the lunch menu. Luckily I did not have an allergy to chicken as it was never communicated by the server or on the menu that the enchilada is served with chicken. For my taco, I added crispy fish and that was pretty good. The "Chayote Salad" was also not a favorite of mine whatsoever. It was extremely bitter and was drenched in oil. The quesadilla was great, the portion size was disappointing. I added carnitas to my quesadilla and was glad I did. I wish I had just ordered the quesadilla and sparkling water only honestly. Overall: Overall, I had very high hopes for Siempre J.B., but it just did not meet my expectations. I felt that for the price point of the food and beverages, my experience should have been top tier and it just was not in any aspect besides the chips and salsa and the decor. My friend and I met up for dinner on a Tuesday evening, no reservation but was able to be seated immediately. Located on the corner and parking garage was close by. When we arrived the place wasn't too busy, around 6pm. We ordered the empanada appetizer which were bite size and came with 4 pieces, mushroom salad which i though had a little too much dressing (would ask them to go lighter next time), but the rockstars were the tacos I had the carnitas which included pineapple and the shrimp tacos. The owners response to my very valid and fair review is everything I need to know about this restaurant. He is basically calling me white trash and my opinion is invalid. Good luck. I was so excited about a New Mexican restaurant in town but this isn't it. Food is very middle America Mexican. I actually can't believe how bad it was. Starting with service, it's very very slow. We had to hunt someone down for everything and there were only 2 other tables in the whole place. We paid $5 each for Arnold Palmer's and they were full of ice and charged for refills!!! Another $5 each for a glass full of ice. They were the best part of the meal though. The guacamole was very bland and had no flavor. Luckily the chips were a little salty so I got some flavor from that. I also got the street corn and it was actually delicious. I've never had a restaurant not offer to cut the corn off the cob but that's fine, it was good. Moving on to the tacos. The tortillas turn to mush and fall apart. They need 2 shells. Avocado taco was almost a joke. Iceberg lettuce!!! No flavor, no seasoning, nothing. Carne asada and carnitas tacos, the flavor was decent but again, fell apart. I will never come back to this place. It's such a shame. It looks like they put a ton of money into this restaurant and it just fails at every step. I know they are paying a fortune for the space too. This restaurant was so perfect! My husband and I came on a whim so we didn't have a reservation. We were greeted by the hostess and she was pretty and pleasant. Our server was Tammy and she was lovely through and through. She was attentive but not intrusive or annoying, which was great. The manager and bus person also stopped by and they were equally as pleasant as the rest of the staff. Our food was delicious. We had the queso fundido, chicken mole, fish tacos, carne asada tacos, beans and shishito peppers - all of which we asked to come out at the same time, which they did. We had flan for dessert. The flavor of the sauce on the peppers was absolutely divine. Everything from the chips and salsa to the dessert were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Better in the enchiladas, imo ~One great feature is rice & beans are NOT on every plate which I really liked. Lastly, desserts were ordered & devoured. The flan, choc tres leche cake & a special pumpkin custard served in a pumpkin ~ each very good although the tres leche cake was a bit dry, we all agreed. The manager was nice but really had nothing to say after being told I had called 15 minutes prior and was told differently- he was sorry. Came back yesterday- staff was very friendly, ambience and mood were pretty nice - still on the quiet side of things. The drinks were good - had a few different ones with modifications and they were good. The food looked pretty.... But the flavor and the taste from the last time were completely missing from the empanadas and the salsa.
