I bought a used scooter from them over the weekend for a good price, with no warranty/as-is. In a matter of 2 days, the scooter broke down. I was a bit frustrated, however upon calling Erin she told me to bring it by and that she would repair it, free of charge. It ended up having a worn drive belt, which wasn't their fault. Great experience, definitely recommend! It's hard to find anywhere that will work on scooters in the SouthBay, but Erin and Andy live up to their reviews. I brought in my Lance Vintage 150 for them to tune up. Since it had been a while I didn't feel comfortable taking it very far, they offered to pick up same day. First of all, I was with a friend who was getting her scooter fixed, and when I saw the workmanship, the friendliness and the professionalism, I knew right then and there, that I had to write a review too. Within 1 hour, all parts and time and mileage included, UNDER $100!!! She didn't call with one problem, two problems, but 6 problems, and they had a fix for each one when they arrived. They worked quickly but efficiently. Her scooter was faster, more stable and she had a full understanding of how it worked and what to fix/look for when problems arise. I also was a victim of being WAY overcharged by another mobile motorcycle/scooter repair...So I was cautious in my choice to have Sikk Skooters come out to service my Chinese scooter. The first time I spoke with Erin over the phone, she got right down to what the cost would be and was ready to set an appointment. Erin and Andy both showed up to my office on time and ready to work on my Ruckus clone scooter! They had all replacement bulbs and other parts I needed for my bike. They fixed my electrical system in minutes. Erin and Andy work together and give you the benefit of 2 technicians...for the price of 1. Have an old Vespa (1965 125 Super) that hadn't seen a mechanic in a while. Called Erin and she said they'd come and look and see what it needed. She and Andy showed up on-time. They are incredibly nice, honest and, near as I can tell, Andy knows EVERYTHING in the world about scooters. Literally - everything!! I was prepared to spend some $$ on maintenance but Andy said the bike did not need anything. He took it for a test ride to make sure. Spent a long time talking to me about how to best maintain the bike. Andy and Erin are just amazingly straight-forward and awesome people. Called Erin and Andy after reading all the great Yelp reviews for a general tune-up on my Vespa LXV 150. This is an awesome service--they come right to you and work on your bike. No need for towing or scheduling rides to and from a shop. Erin was friendly on the phone and scheduled my appointment. They showed up right on time and had my scooter all finished in under an hour. While they were working, I heard some great scooter stories, and Andy was able to answer every scooter related question I could throw at him. Being a girl and getting jerked around by mechanics in the past dose not make me to excited to deal with any kind of motor repair. However, Andy and Erin are a God send! (if there is a god that is) There is no B.S. with them and they are the most thoughtful, accommodating, and real people "mechanics" I have ever met! I made the mistake of purchasing a cheap china made knock off vespa and it tends to give me a lot of problems since its only 50cc and I drive it every where and well it simply is what it is. Andy, Erin and Murdock are a team that have their stuff together and blow the other competition out of the park. I never feel like I am getting ripped off and always quoted fair prices for parts and service. I've been going to them now for a few issues with my scooter and every time they get it fixed without any issues, quickly and efficiently. Andy's a true mechanic and can fix basically anything you can throw at him. I had my starter replaced there, my carburetor and a few other things and its always been a cool experience. He's confident and can teach you all you need to know about your scooter and how to take the best care of it. Erin handles the financials, orders, and basic up keep to the place and gets you parts quickly and is always good about calling you back when a part is in and ready to be put on. She also knows a thing or two about scooters. I would say that they balance each other out in a great way. Today I met Erin and Andy the owners of Sikk Skooters. Anytime you go to a new place you're a little afraid you're going to be hit with a larger bill than you were quoted. I had a belt ,rollers and slides put on my scooter and was quoted a fair price. In the process of that being done Andy came out of the work shop showing me my clutch and where the vent fins were hitting the bell. He took it back in the shop made adjustments on my clutch. It runs better than it ever has and the bill came not a dime more than they quoted me. Andy told me it was just an adjustment not a new part. THIS PLACE DESERVES NO STARS.. ONLY 1 BECAUSE IT WON'T SAVE WITHOUT ONE. SOOO LAME! wow...3 months and all i have to show is a broken skooter with no compensation... bought new parts to make this thing run, only to find out that my old parts were "stolen"?? or thrown out, as they say.. replaced with $50...oh wow, with a blown motor riding the same day they figure its not on them...when they cranked my motor without oil smoking and all...professionals? my bike was ready 5 times, only to find out that the light bulbs was all they needed to replace before i had to buy a new harness, worth $180.. vacuum pump, all kinds of bs...... not willing to compensate for any added parts I leave not once, but twice to find myself stuck at a gas station, without offering to pick me up, having a truck and living down the street, walked my paid serviced scooter back to their home. did this once before pickups wow,.,after all this headache, nothing as much as an apology-but more of a-it wasnt our fault, nothing to have to do with your bike. wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no trying to work with the customer... no service no working bike custom white paint, got dirty ass oil finger prints all over the bike. NO decency to wipe it down for a PAYING CUSTOMER! BULLSHIT!! wanna get out of the scooter scene? go with sikk skooters cause you will be sikk to ur stomach with your scooter once these people are done working with you..... take ur chances-many other mechanics out there........ If you are cruising Yelp to find an honest, experienced place to have your scooter worked on, look no further, you have arrived at the answer. Call up Erin, set something up (it's a mobile service, which is super convenient!), and have Andy come over and work his magic on your skoot. They are great people, what they charge is fair and honest, and they not only know what the hell they are doing, but they give a damn about your bike, and all of that is really important to me. I had a small shop in the valley work on my bike (150 cc CF Moto E-jewel) before I moved down here. I brought it in for it's first scheduled maintenance- essentially a tune up. It came back to me running worse, stalling out, just sounding bad. Using it down here, it went from bad to worse. All this headache cost me $150. Finally the bike stopped working. I was pissed and sad. Found Sikk on Yelp and called them up to look at my bike (I was initially wary b/c they don't have a lot of Yelp reviews... turns out that most of their reviews are filtered b/c the customers don't use Yelp often- that won't be the case with me!) Turns out the electrical system had issues; the battery was dead and I needed a new voltage meter (both things that should have been checked during the initial tuneup). Erin special ordered the meter and came back to complete the job in 3 days. As for the original problem, Andy simply adjusted the carb until it purred like a cat. Took him maybe 30 seconds? The other bike shop had my bike for 2 days and had to pick it up and bring it back after the initial tuneup due to stalling and it still wasn't done right. Moral of the story: I would have saved massive amounts of time, heartache, and money if I had initially found Sikk Skooters. Total spend was about $230- that included a new battery, a new voltage meter, labor, the drive out (they came out twice, only charged for once), and they just threw in stuff like fluids, missing screws, clips, and a bunch of knowledge about how my bike runs and how best to take care of it). As long as I live in the South Bay, nobody is touching my bike besides Andy. I have written this long winded review as a small way of helping a great small business like Sikk Skooters. These guys deserve to grow because they care and do such a fantastic job! Put your trust and hard earned money in their capable hands, you won't regret it! read more
