While traveling from California to Chicago, was visiting the Humboldt Park area. On the way back, I passed by this Thai restaurant Silli Kori right in Division St. They advertised a lunch special, which worked out perfectly. The place is cute and I was served right away. I absolutely love Thai food and being so far from home, I didn't know what to expect. I was in for a surprise. I ordered the Pad Thai which came with a small side salad. So delicious! And the Pad Thai was literally one of the best that I've had. You mix it yourself. We plan to be back in Chicago later in the year. I hope to visit here again in the near future.

This restaurant is tucked away in division and such an amazing find! Very nice inside and the service was great. Now the food was great and for such a great price. Highly recommend the specialty dishes! Son in law eggs blew me away!

Decided to go here on a spur of the moment while out one day. The place was empty, but it was 4 pm. on a weekday. Service was fast, and the food came out in a reasonable time. Short rating: Fresh Rolls: 1 out of 5 Kao Soi: 3 out of 5 Son In Law Eggs: 5 out of 5 First, the fresh rolls are not spring rolls. It is mostly vegetables and comes with a sliver of tofu and a vinegar based sauce. You can add shrimp to the dish, but you barely get any shrimp in it. While the dish may be fresh, it is lacking in flavor for me. The Kao Soi is a curry egg noodle soup. While I think this was a good dish, it was a bit mild in the flavor for me. The flavor is good, but it's just a feeling of wanting more. I would eat it again, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Finally, the Son and Law eggs dish. This was the star of the show, and it packed all the flavor that I missed from the other dishes. I recommend the beef with this dish instead of the chicken. The seasoning in this dish tastes soy sauce based, and it is done very well. The eggs in the dish are hardboiled and fried. It is very unique and delicious.

Looking for an amazing lunch without breaking the bank? Look no further. Pleasantly surprised by this gem tucked away in Wicker Park. They have a SMOKING deal for weekday lunch. For $12, you get an app and a select main. Add miso soup for $3? Oh, don't have to tell me twice. Even their other options on the menu aren't crazy priced. Amazing flavor, indoor and outdoor seating, and will definitely be back!

Parking all over division. This spot is so comfy and home-y. Server/bartender was so kind and explained the menu. Recommended a light Japanese beer that I enjoyed thoroughly. My partner's tummy was delightfully happy and the price point is affordable! Come here, trust me.

The first impression is that it is that the decor is modern but inviting. It was my impression that even though the space is nice, the majority of the business seems to be carryout and delivery, so we received really attentive service being one of a few diners dining in. We ordered fresh spring rolls, miso, massaman curry and Woonsen. Everything was so delicious but the massaman curry was next level for me. It was a visually beautiful dish and the taste was outstanding!

Pim is incredibly sweet and kind. We visited the restaurant during our lunch break and took advantage of the lunch special, which was an amazing value. The crab Rangoons were excellent, and the curry had the perfect balance of flavor and spice. Since the weather was hot outside, we decided to enjoy our meal indoors. I could easily see myself becoming a regular here.

This was a solid panang curry. It could have used spice, but that's why I always get chili flakes on the side!

Silli Kori's food, especially as a vegetarian, is savory, flavorful, and balanced. The service is quick and the wait staff is attentive to small details. The ambiance is quiet and cozy. It can get a little warm in the restaurant in the summertime, but a cold Thai iced tea (which was delightful) can fix that quite readily!

Came to get lunch at this unassuming Asian restaurant on Division. It turned out to only be doing takeout so I got it to go. Silli Kori is casually elegant and certainly it's not silly. Has pretty good prices for the quality. There's lunch specials and many things for any preferences of tastes. At lunch is the best time to come. It had pretty affordable lunch specials going on. This is only for weekdays. Has a lot to choose from. It's about $9 for the cheapest specials. Pick a noodle or rice. Then choose a protein. It's a few bucks or more for each. This then comes with a side. Add a few more bucks if wanting a soup. The one I got was the woonsen noodles, and I got it with tofu. Appetizer was the vegetable tempura. The noodles were those glassy ones and came with a good variety of vegetables. Carrots, long beans, and more. This was a good amount for the cheap price. Has only dinner on Sundays, but the rest of the week also has lunch. It only does takeout earlier so plan ahead about when to go make an order. There's plenty of options for meat eaters and vegetarians.

Wow welcome to my new favorite pad Thai restaurant. IYKYK that I love pad Thai and whenever I try a new Thai place, I have to order pad Thai (and crab Rangoon) regardless of what else sounds good. This pad Thai was perfect. Flavors were balanced between sweet, tangy, and a little spicy. Textures were varied; noodles, sprouts, and it was all covered in an egg sheath. Creative, beautiful, and completely satisfying. I added a little extra chili sauce, but that's to my own taste. The base entree was delicious. The crab Rangoon were amazing too, I loved that they included green onion into the mix. Furthermore, you cannot beat the cocktails. 1- because they excellent and 2- because they're soooo affordable ($11 for a Singapore sling). I will be back and this will be my top recommendation for pad Thai and my top restaurant request when I'm in the Wicker area.

I ordered Pad Thai and crab rangoon for carry out via phone. Showed up in 20 mins and the food was already ready. The crab Rangoon was the perfect crispy crust. The pad Thai was delicious and the portions were big, I got 2 meals out of this order. If you're looking to satisfy your Thai cravings I would recommend going here!

Recently, I've been loving Thai food and have been trying more Thai places around Chicago and this is in my top 3 favorites so far! The portion sizes are generous, especially for the reasonable price point. The menu is on the smaller side but with the great quality of each dish, you won't be disappointed. Gyoza - perfectly crisp, savory, and plenty of filling, loved the sauce! Son in law eggs - I've never seen this dish at any other Thai places so I was really intrigued to try this. I absolutely loved it, full of flavor! It comes with fried soft boiled eggs, spicy basil beef rice bowl with sweet tamarind sauce. Pad Thai - wrapped under a sheath of eggs, this was a really delicious pad Thai. It was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I went during a weekday for dinner so we were the only ones in the restaurant besides a few people eating outside on the patio, so service was quick, but it looked like there was only one person working. The place is casual and cozy. Will be back to try the other menu items!

This restaurant was a unique Thai place I've been wanting to try, and this particular rainy day was perfect for it. Though we were pretty much the only ones in the restaurant, the food was delicious. They were out of some items however. We ordered the crispy curry rice salad, which was delicious and refreshing. The kao soi was tasty but heartier. We also got a yellow curry with shrimp off menu, which my mom loved. Finally, we had pad Thai with tofu. This was delicious as well. I enjoyed the unique dishes that aren't typically seen at Thai restaurants, and all the flavors were tasty without being too heavy. Great find on division!

I found the food to be more family style where you get a few things and share them. The items dont really come as a main with a side but the portions are big so sharing and getting plenty of what you like is not an issue. My friend and I started with a bottle of Soju. It was a little smaller than expected. For the price I thought it would be one of the bigger Soju bottles but it was still fine to share. We got the pork and kurobuta soup dumplings and they were very good. The broth was warm and flavorful without being burn your mouth hot. We then shared the elote mandoo, jeera pork ribs and rosemary guobaorou. Both of our favorites ended up being the rosemary guobaorou. The sauce was amazing and the pork was frieded lightly with a crispy batter. Everything else was good as well. The ribs were really meaty and fell of the bone. The elote mandoo was the only thing I didnt love. You only got 3 small pieces and I thought it tasted more like cheese than corn. Like a Mac and cheese dumplings. The service was good. They did come by a lot to see if we wanted to order more things which became a little excessive at the end. We could have had 2 less drop by. Definitely a great spot to check out for dinner in the Wicker Park area.

The evening started off wonderfully. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the food absolutely delivered. The Wagyu Crispy Rice remains a 10/10 and is worth ordering every single time. We also shared the fried chicken and pork belly bao buns, which my husband and our friends couldn't stop talking about. Everyone loved their meals, and we left completely stuffed. Unfortunately, one interaction put a damper on an otherwise great dinner. My husband has had a white fish allergy for 32 years. He can safely eat certain fish like tuna, salmon, and trout, so he usually has limited sushi options but still enjoys it. He ordered what appeared to be a safe roll, but after the first bite realized it contained masago. We asked what type of fish their masago comes from, and the server confirmed it was from a white fish. Thankfully, he noticed immediately and didn't have a reaction. The server did offer to have the roll remade, which we appreciated. However, before doing so, she repeatedly told us that she and the chef "think all fish are white," implying that his allergy didn't really make sense. Hearing that several times felt dismissive of a very real allergy he's managed his entire life. Food allergies aren't something anyone should have to defend while dining out. To end the meal, they kindly brought out The Ridiculous dessert and the coconut cheesecake for my husband's birthday, and both were delicious. However, the moment was a bit overshadowed when the server mentioned, "We normally don't give these as birthday desserts, but because of what happened, we did." While I'm sure it wasn't intended that way, it came across as passive-aggressive rather than hospitable. Overall, the food was outstanding and absolutely lives up to Sunda's reputation. I'd happily return for the Wagyu Crispy Rice and everything else we tried. My only criticism is that a little more sensitivity and understanding around food allergies--and a bit more tact in how situations are communicated--would have made an excellent dining experience truly exceptional.

The manager and the food runner were nice when we mentioned it, but our actual server was a disaster. When we tried the Goat Noodles, all we could taste was cumin. It was so overwhelming that it covered up everything else. We couldn't even tell if there was actually any goat shoulder in there. When we told our waiter, she couldn't care less. She got totally defensive, wouldn't even listen to us, and just said, "Oh, I told you when you ordered that the dish is cumin forward" and walked away. It got worse when the bill came. She was holding on to the payment machine so hard and almost yanked it right out of my friend's hand. She was staring at it to see what we were tipping. It was so awkward and incredibly rude. The vibe is speakeasy-ish; the entrance is off the street in an alleyway but the interior is very nice, low light, and would be fun for a date night! The staff were attentive and very friendly. My friend got some shots, which were surprisingly good given they were kind of sweet, and I ordered the "mystic lamp" cocktail ($16) which was VERY memorable to me as someone that loves floral drinks -- it was very floral, slightly fruity, and had a lovely chunk of lychee it came with which was delicious! The drink was decent sized too; I've been charged a lot more for much less drink at other speakeasies (those of which I don't plan to visit again any time soon haha). I was excited for the experience having heard how busy it gets, blah blah. These positive reviewers need to seek out other tiki bars. After you negotiate the alley entrance and go down dangerously dark stairs, you are met with crazy boring decor. I kept thinking there had to be more right? The whole point of a tiki bar is to strike a mood, but hanging a very few polynesian masks on the wall, putting up a grass facade over the bar and dressing the servers in vaguely polynesian outfits is sad. I've seen private tiki bars at people's homes that are more exciting. Add to this a comparably boring music selection played far too loud over boomy lo-fi speakers and you'll wonder what's going on here. So what about the food and drink? Completely uninspired for anyone who's had more than a mai tai before in their life. About a dozen extremely common drink choices is all you get!! No specials, that's it. When I asked if this was the whole cocktail menu, the server said it was but they have a full bar so you can get anything you want. Well, I could get that service at just about any bar in the world, so big deal. Maybe it would be better if you sat at the bar and chatted up the bartender. One could also go taste their rum selections and other cocktails in the Bamboo Room, but I hate that kind of elitist nonsense. That's never been what tiki bars were about. The drinks we sampled were okay at best. Even the namesake 3 Dots and A Dash cocktail was lackluster and used cheap cherries for the dots instead of classic Luxardos. (If you know, you know) The appetizers were okay, but way overpriced. 5 tiny spring rolls for $18. Come on guys, enough already. I'd rather go to the bar at the Polynesian Hotel at Disney than return here. This place is a hard pass.

Spam musubi was also on point and the Mac salad was bomb. Also enjoyed trying some Hawaiian drinks!

Even if we don't consider its rarity, Da Local Boy is a winner in every category. The prices are very fair for the enormous portion sizes, the decor is fun and appropriate, the service is friendly, and food is phenomenal both in flavors and textures. The only possible criticisms are that the space is a bit small for how popular this spot gets, and the parking in the area can be a bit limited around popular meal times. The food here shines, making it worth a special trip -- both again for the rarity but also the quality. For me, the poke nachos are a must order item, just the perfect mix of large chunks of tuna with super crispy wontons, fresh avocado, and a good helping of sauce. Amongst friends, we've agreed that this is a must order item. The huli huli chicken is also unreal in flavor and texture. Besides being marinated and sauced well, the chicken is melt in your mouth tender while simultaneously having a delicious crisp skin. Think brick chicken, but with more flavor and a much better price. The rice and macaroni salad that accompany this are also well done -- and feel more like a core part of the meal rather than an afterthought. The grilled pork is pretty good as well, though I kind of wish it wasn't sliced as thin, as certain pieces felt a bit dry. The spam musubi with a light touch of furikake also provided a flavorful, fun dish to accompany the other delicious items I tried. Overall, delicious and consistently surprises me with the quality of the execution and bold flavor combinations. This is on my top places to visit in the area and has never disappointed.
